I have been with Spectrum from the beginning. I was with the company they bought out and the company they bought out, etc. One thing I will say about Spectrum is their Internet service is very good. It is fast, reliable, and when I need assistance they are reasonably easy to work with. However, when it comes to their cable TV service... They are out of their minds! Their price is too high to begin with. Then it seems every time I get my bill the price has gone up. And without any warning. It's crazy! I have switched things around now. I still get my Internet service and landline from Spectrum. And the price is reasonable. The speed and reliability is excellent. But I dropped their cable service and went with an independent streaming service. I get all the channels I had plus some additional ones and I save A LOT of money. You need to do some research of your own. Spectrum can be good and bad. It's up to you. read more

I want to give a shout out to Mervin Scott, who warmly welcomed me into the Spectrum store at Steelyard Commons and helped me quickly and efficiently. I called Spectrum after getting a postcard in the mail. The Spectrum sales rep who encouraged me to sign up with Spectrum never answered any of my calls after placing the order for the equipment. She even gave me her supervisor's names/numbers to call if I had any issues, and they didn't return my calls either, even though she promised they would immediately call me back. Therefore, I decided to return the equipment to the Spectrum store and cancel my account. Mervin, however, gave me the confidence that when I'm ready to switch to Spectrum, he would be attentive and take care of everything. Spectrum is very lucky to have Mervin working for them. When it is working, Spectrum internet and TV services are great and deliver as marketed. However, if something unusual goes wrong ... Wow. Spectrum Customer Service is enthusiastic but, frankly, close to incompetent. I've just moved address and have spent more than 2 hours on the phone & chat because they got EVERYTHING wrong: 1) got the confirmed dates for disconnecting the old and reconnecting the new equipment wrong. 2) failed to send new equipment to the new address, as promised. Lied about it, then checked and apologized for error. 3) started bills for new address too early AND double billed me for services at the old address. 4) 'forgot' they had not sent me new equipment and connected the old equipment at the new address and sent me incorrect and aggressive emails about returning my equipment. SUPER DISAPPOINTED! I recently leased a Samsung phone from spectrum. I tried it out after being a lifelong iPhone user. After trying it out for one week, I decided to return the phone within the grace period. I went to take the phone into a spectrum store and they told me that the phone was in 100% excellent condition and that I would receive a full refund. However, they could not take the phone back because of stocking issues. So I had to return the phone and ship it. I did everything that spectrum asked and returned the phone within the grace period. I got an email today that they said they found a scratch on the phone and that I was charged $600. I was on the phone all day today with customer service agents and they told me that there was nothing they can do about it. I am absolutely appalled by this! I have a young family and I don't have $600 laying around. This has been extremely unprofessional and bad business. I don't believe it's a coincidence that rectum and Spectrum are so similar in sound. Spectrum is just shady; my experiences with cable companies, they all are. They're the only utility that I feel I have to watch very close that they don't sneak some hidden charge on my bill. Just finished a promotion with their "cell service." Was internet and cellphone, bundled... like, $50 a month with the ACP credit. Knowing the cable company is shady, a few weeks before the promotion was over, I called explaining I didn't want their phone service and since the ACP credits were no longer available, that I wanted the cheapest internet they have. The phone... went through all the disconnects "stuff" and after I hung up with them, "something happened" and they couldn't complete the deactivation. You know how they ask, "Is this a good number to call you back on in case we get disconnected?" Yeah, that's a lie. I call 2 weeks later confirming the disconnected cellphone, because of a dropped line, they couldn't disconnect me and they sure af didn't call me to let me know this. So... tacked onto my bill was a month of Rectum cell service. I've always received a paper bill, the month my promotion was to expire, I was removed from receiving a bill in the mail... they wouldn't want to see that my promotion was expiring and I would be charged more. After the cellphone incident, I've got the upgraded T-Mobile internet now. I pay $70 flat fee for their upgraded service; includes taxes, fees. The price is locked in for life and my speeds are just as fast 300mb+ downstream. I elect to pay $3 more for T-Mobile internet just so I could get away from that shady, thieving, sneaky Rectum cable. I cannot fully express just how incompetent and useless the Spectrum Mobile Customer Service Department is, but I am going to try. I lost my phone 3 months ago, so I bought a new one from Spectrum. Instead of blacklisting the phone that I lost, they blacklisted my brand new phone, making it completely inoperable - no calls, texts, wifi, nothing. For over a week, my phone was useless - Spectrum blamed everyone else but themselves in the process, even blaming Verizon. So I called their bluff, called Verizon...Verizon confirmed they had nothing to do with it. When I called Spectrum back, after a week of being told "we have to wait for Verizon" - Spectrum made the change and got me back online. After that debacle, I decided to change phone providers - Now, I have been waiting FIVE additional weeks while Spectrum generates an unlock code to free my phone. My phone has been dead for five weeks while Spectrum figures out how to do something that takes most a matter of minutes. By Spectrum's own admission, it should take at most 2-3 days. It's been 5 weeks. During that time, they've called me all of ONE time to tell me they were closing the ticket "just assuming it had been resolved". They also told me it was my phone manufacturer's fault. So I called Samsung and, once again, they confirmed it was still on Spectrum to resolve this. In the 3 months I've had a new phone with Spectrum, they have turned my phone off in error half of the time...6 weeks. I've been on hold for 48 hours in 3 months. During that time, I've been lied to, ignored, misled, given deadlines they've never met, and have heard them pass the buck numerous times. You get a different story, one rep to the next. They have no idea what they're doing and now I'm out $500 for the phone I just paid for that they've screwed up. I want to switch providers and I can't because they have screwed up my phone. Every minute I have spent on hold with them, the recording says "count on us to keep you connected". Meanwhile, they are responsible for doing exactly the opposite. read more

I spoke with" Brea" and manager "Tim" From spectrum who refused to give me his last name, contact number, customer service number...... out of the blue, they have sent me to collections and I have pictures, recordings, and a sighed receipt stating I am paid in full and signed by the blonde woman at the Elyria spectrum store on 5/4/21 when I returned ALL OF MY EQUIPMENT. Tim was condescending, patronizing and continued to state he wanted me to do HIS JOB to do research on my account...... this is appalling . My cable box is very slow to respond to the remote, freezes often for extended periods of time and the chat/ support is often completely useless or usually doesn't have a sufficient enough grasp of the English language to adequately understand or address my problems. Now they're trying to charge us hundreds of dollars that no one can tell us why to an EMPLOYEE. I will never do business with this crappy company again!!!!! I had them for internet and although I was told my price would not go up, it indeed did go up and they refused to lower it even though their reps told me it wouldn't go up!! So I switched to AT&T!! Now my father has them for cable and internet, and I am going to help him find another company. My father is elderly and always pays his bills. He pays by check and his bill is around $130 a month. For June they claimed he only paid $39 which was a mistake on their end!! He got a copy of the cancelled check from his bank and took it to one of their walk-in locations. They refused to help him there. So I got angry and called customer service for him. They advised me they should have assisted him when he brought in the cancelled check. They proceeded to try to get this resolved, which took about TWO WEEKS!! When all along he had paid the correct amount!! Then his next bill came due and he hadn't paid anything further because they were still fixing his account. They then shut off his service!!!!!! THEY WERE THE ONES TO MESS UP AND THEN REFUSED TO TURN HIS CABLE BACK ON??!!!!!!!! I do NOT appreciate them messing with my elderly 85 year old father!!!!!!! This review is not for this store, this is a warning that Spectrum as a company has terrible customer service when you try to contact them for anything. You have to jump through a million hoops to be connected with a live person, usually with a wait time of over an hour. Once you're connected, they almost always "can't help" and have to transfer you ten times (and then usually still can't help). Its a disorganized, chaotic mess. This includes the "chat" on the website. The automated responses are useless and then a majority of the time the person you chat with doesn't know the answer. They also charge outrageous prices after the first year - read the fine print. I would never use Spectrum if I had any other option. They sadly have a monopoly on a lot of Cleveland apartments. My internet was out. Two techs came out and they were really patient with the problems I was having. The apartment I am in has a ton of wires and it is difficult to tell which wire went where (with several dead ends), but Levant(?) and his trainee were great. Beyond frustrated with spectrum and how they take care of their customers. Ordered my equipment two weeks before moving into my new place and was told it would be a free pick up in store. Come to find out that wasn't the case, had to wait another 4 days for them to ship my equipment and when it finally arrived my internet wasn't working whatsoever. Called spectrum multiple times to have it fixed and even scheduled a technician to come out and they never showed up. So I'm now 2 weeks living in my new place without wifi. This isn't so much a review for this specific location...but for the Time Warner Internet service in Cleveland in general. This is pretty much one of the few companies that offer cable high speed internet in the majority areas. They are a very large company, and customer service is their downfall. The devices they give out (Motorola Surfboard) are not very reliable. The technicians even admit to this when they come out. Whenever you call, it's always someone from a different country, and be prepared to spend hours on the phone repeating yourself if you have an issue. I know it's tough to deal with old faulty lines, and poor hardware in customer's homes, but a more local customer service approach to issues would certainly help. It's great when it works, but if it doesn't be prepared for a headache. read more

I just moved to Akron from Jackson, Michigan where we had Comcast cable, internet and phone which was fabulous and very dependable. I would give them 5 stars across the board. Time Warner Cable here in Akron, Ohio, on the other hand, is a HUGE joke. The wifi is totally worthless, the cable tv is a joke. Half the time nothing will load on the computer because the wifi is not reliable, the other half it will kick me off in the middle of something. I can't stream videos on Youtube, can't play my on-line games, and spend most of the time sitting here watching the damn thing spin just like it did back in the days of old fashioned dial-up. Obviously they collect your money but don't care enough about their customers to do the updates that this kind of technology requires. If I had a choice I'd kick them to the curb so fast it would make their heads spin. What a waste of time AND money. read more

Although our relationship was extremely rocky during and shortly after installation, I have to admit that the internet now works as expected (we are a year in). We were very frustrated with installation and the first couple of months of the service due to spotty internet connection (it was more OFF than ON). Also, please note that once you hit a year of service, they WILL, without an email notification, increase your monthly bill from the "promotional" price you had been paying for 12 months. When I called to check for additional discounts, they basically said I was SOL. Fun (but actually annoying) installation story: They may tell you that the installation man is supposed to call you a half hour before they arrive, but no, ours called when he was on our street and when I missed the call, he sped past the house, without so much as coming into the driveway to honk or something. He was probably halfway home when we called the dispatcher and told her we tried waving him down and then she called him to come back. read more

We have had TWC/Spectrum Internet and Cable in two different apartments in downtown Cleveland since 2013. Internet service is very reliable, fast, unlimited. Cable has many options and bundling saves $. Tried AT&T uverse recently, cancelled the service within a few weeks because internet speeds very low. Strongly recommend TWC/Spectrum if this option is available in your area. read more

I cannot comment on the quality of services since i never got a chance to experience it as Spectrum failed to install services twice. first time, the tech said that he arrived to the place, even rang the door and nobody opened while the whole family was home. so i called the customer service and they asked me to reschedule installation for another day. so i did. i guess my mistake was to schedule both time at the end of the day but it worked best for my work schedule. so on the day of the second attempt to install services i was expecting someone to come between 5-6 pm. i was watching our driveway like a hawk and would not let my phone off my hands so i do not miss a call from the tech. When nobody arrived by 5:40 pm i called customer service and they assured me that the tech is scheduled to arrive soon. then around 6 pm their "Track your tech" app showed that the tech is on his way and will arrive in 15 minutes. well... 25 minutes later still nobody; i check the app and the tech is now arrive in another 15 minutes. i called again the CS and they placed a ticket to track down the tech. so almost at 7 pm i check the app and it shows that the tech has arrived. so i rush to open the door and..... nobody is at the door. I my husband was outside with the kids and he saw no spectrum truck pass by. i guess the tech just did not feel like working any longer today and self-canceled the appointment. i do not know how internet, cable or phone is with Spectrum but i believe the way they handle installation says it all. the funny thing is that when i called to cancel installation as i was not planning to waste another day waiting for somebody to come and install services or i should say no to install services, i was already billed for the installation. definitely they are very good billing you not quite good yet at installing. read more

Worst company I've ever head to deal with. Bought internet on Monday and was told internet was already active at my location so all I would have to do is connect and call a number. When I did this it still wasn't working so I called tech support, there was a work order already in place for someone to come the next day to fix it. After I get home from work the internet still wasn't working, when I called I was assured someone would call within the hr and be on their way. This never happened. I called again and the same thing occurred. Being told twice a day for 3 days Thursday someone would callus within the hour was the end of the line. Nobody ever showed up or called us. We argued with multiple supervisors for over an hr on the 4th day of no service until we decided to cancel business with them. read more
