My experience at the retail store was quick and easy last weekend (16 Nov. 2019). I came to return a wireless router. The problem I had recently was with customer service and locating this store. CUSTOMER SERVICE -- I called this location before I arrived to make sure that they were still open. No one answered the phone and the voicemail stated that they closed at 3pm, on Saturday. I was confused because a google search (via google reviews) showed that they were open for business. To add to more confusion, the actual COX website did not have any Cleveland locations on their list of locations so that got me frazzled because I didn't want to drive to Parma to see the store closed. I called Cox Corporate (not the store) and spoke to customer service Rep. He was not able to help me to determine where the Cleveland location was or what time they were opened. He did the google search I did but that can not be reliable at times. He also was unsure why the Cox website didn't list the store under locations. Anyway, I went to the Cox location via google search and hoped they were open since no one at the physical store was answering their phone. Thank goodness, they were open. Step it up Cox Customer Service. COX INTERNET -- I had a good experience with having Cox internet for 1 year and 2 months. I only cancelled because the plan increased in price after 1 year to $77 per month (normally, new customers get a deal for the 1st year). Sorry, too many signal drops, reboots and the off shore customer service is terrible. We moved to T-Mobile for internet. It costs $50 a month, hasn't dropped once and we get consistent download speeds of up to 600Mbps. read more

Every time I call I get someone that speaks broken English I can't understand them and whatever I say they twist it around and half of the time they don't know or understand what your telling them and your phone call ends up being an hour long and you really don't ever get your problems resolved! I got a call from cox that they were gonna pick up my Wi-Fi box and I had to be home from 2pm to 5pm waiting for them and I never got a call nor did they ever show up and so I called Cox about it and the person on the other end of the phone didn't understand what I was saying and I could barely understand what they were saying to me and apparently they never made an appointment with me to pick up the box but they honestly did call me! The actual store at 12221 Plaza Dr was incredibly helpful, however I'm writing this because my experience with Cox's phone customer service was the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a company. I work customer service myself for a fortune 200 company and I never leave reviews because I get what it's like on the other side. This interaction with their phone agents was so poor however that I felt compelled to say something in the hopes someone listens if not just to vent my frustration. The procedures they must be using are infuriating and down right ridiculous. Instead of just helping me with my issue of setting up my Wi-Fi through the app which I've requested since day 1, the agent insisted on upselling me other services and asking about my mobile service which was never something I once suggested i was interested in. He continued to insist I give him specifics about my internet usage and devices and refused more than twice to drop the topic again insisting it was somehow necessary to assist me in getting this device setup. They scheduled a service tech without my knowledge to come out in about a week from now which was news to me considering I chose time and time again to go with the self setup option through the app. All I wanted was some assistance with the app to get my Wi-Fi working myself and if needed schedule a technician to come out. Instead I was barraged with questions of my usage, upsold services I don't need, ignored several times when I just asked for help and then given a time and date a week from now when a technician will finally come out. This entire process has been needlessly confusing and frustrating. Review your customer service policies, your priorities are completely irrelevant to what people actually need. read more

It took two months of calling daily just to port my home phone over then I get to miss the ending to every show I watch because the cable keeps going out. Don't even try to work from home because the cable won't stay on line. When you call to get help the response is either clueless or promises they never follow thru with. I've called numerous times about terrible experiences I've been having with cable/internet cutting in and out and had the same answer of "we will reset your equipment remotely and hope that works" from each representative I've talked to. This company is such a scam. I'm paying almost $200 for a service that I cannot even use and all they can do is credit me $20 towards my next bill.. First off... Orlando in customer service is awesome. He made a very frustrating situation so much better! I wish I could say there was no frustrating situation but he listened and helped me get it straightened out. Also I had internet issues on Easter Day. I called in to the customer service line and the rep was very kind and helped me out. I really appreciated that. They are only reason this review is a 4. They each deserve a 6/5 They are the only reason I didn't just cancel my business and go to the competitor. I was looking to get internet - as I use Netflix and don't need cable. My sales person told me the cable internet phone bundle came with free installation and I could switch down to any other package any time. The package I wanted just internet with the installation would have been exactly the same almost as the bundle which came with free installation, so why not have cable for a month right? I double checked that I could call and switch anytime he said of course. Also I have my own router. They charged me for it in my first months bill. I understand that happens so I figured when I called to switch down I would mention that. Fast forward... I called in to switch down to only internet... I knew it wasn't going to work with my budget as I just got a pay decrease monthly. I call in and they say I can't switch to that because I am no longer a 'new customer'. I call my rep. he says he has to talk to his supervisor. Eventually there is plan to have me return the cable box and remote and then they would 'see what they can do'. I said I will bring it back but I need you to tell me you will make this right. He said yes I will. They will refund me for the router and fix my price. I returned it. That was 15 days after install btw. Over a week later still no details on how it is 'made right.' 8 days later he says it will be fixed. No refund for the first month, which I told them that is fine because that would cover the installation cost anyway. Then he says this month will be still the old price. Then drop down. I said no way I am not paying for 2 months of cable and phone that I had for 2 weeks. I called in to customer service. Orlando said my bill this month is because there is another piece of equipment that needs returned and its on my bill. My rep never told me about that. Orlando said if I can't find it he will send someone to get it free of charge. Also he said my router fee was never refunded and was still on my current bill. He took it off and refunded me from last month router fee. What a freaking mess. This has taken so much time and could have easily been avoided had the rep told me the truth or listened to what I wanted. read more

Love the service that I have received so far. Since I have a need for the fastest internet service out there, I naturally chose Cox over it's competitors. I have always heard negative comments about Cox. So it was with trepidation that I placed a service order to have internet installed. The installer was professional and called prior to arriving, which is a huge plus. Had me up and running in under an hour. I noticed on the service order after he left that it listed the incorrect package (slower one). All the negativity that I had heard about Cox flooded back. With dread I did a physical test of the speed and sure enough, it was the slower package. I emailed the company and really didn't expect much. I received a reply quickly and of course it was the usual tier 1 service spiel. Not a bad thing, just expected. Upon sending them screen captures of the tests I ran, I was called within an hour by a level 3 tech (highest) who not only corrected the issue, he found a way to save me and additional $25/month! read more

1. I picked up a mini box which they said services would not go up. Went up by $25. / month 2. I had high speed internet which never went over 15mbps. I was getting charged but never received it. The COX woman said I have old equipment (which was theirs) and it wont work with that. No one ever told me I needed new equipment 3. Said I went over my allotted data usage which I monitor ever month so I know I did not. That month my bill jumped from $90 to $200. 4. They add fake charges and most people just pay it. The upgrades have been installed and I am happy! The HD channels look terrific, the digital phone w/ on-screen caller ID is cool, and the high speed internet is actually much faster than promised. I'm actually pulling between 19 - 28 Mb/sec down and around 5 Mb/sec up! That rules! read more

I have been a long time customer with Cox and stayed with them because of their excellent service. In the last few years their quality of the service has gone down. We were quoted a price to upgrade our service, when the bill was received it was much higher than the amount quoted. We would have never changed had we known this. The customer service rep noticed that the invoice was written incorrectly, but refused to change it to the amount we were quoted. We feel that we were deliberately misled. We will be looking into other options. Customer loyalty is not important to them. read more

If I could give them a ZERO I would. I just moved to the Parma area at the end of May and I have had nothing but connectivity issues while I try to work from home with Cox. I've had a tech out to my property on 3 separate occasions and the issue is not fixed. The last tech that did come out was very helpful but post poned the replacement of the line from the box to the house until today (friday) or Sunday. Still don't know when they are coming to do the work either! Sure I'll just work with the connectivity issues which is causing my production to plummet until you fix my connection as I have already replaced all my work equipment. This company seems like a joke because their service sucks and doesn't stay connected and I can't get spectrum because Cox is also owned by Charter and they won't offer Spectrum services in my area so they can't compete against each other. I have not trespassing and no soliciting signs and he is stupid enough to do it anyway. I have multiple medical issues and I struggle to the door only to find his garbage. I have been a Cox Cable customer for 20+ years and I get unacceptably poor customer service, ridiculously high cable bills for cable stations with poor programming, and now an Internet connection that is so slow it is useless. And I get to pay $140/month for this. I don't even have a DVR for that money. Competitors offer packages with more options for half of what I pay Cox. The gentleman who I just spoke with at Cox "customer service"(who would not give me his name) was irritated at best. I had a lower price point on my service that got raised by $40/month in March 2013. He said he could not match the old price. I asked if he could put something together at my old price point and e-mail it to me within 48 hours. He said that was "not within my power." This is how you treat a 20+ year customer who pays his bill every month? I wonder if your leadership team would be interested in my issues. Somehow I doubt it. And, I am still left with a broken Internet connection. The same customer service gentleman told me speeds were recently increased and that my modem was old. The customer service is spot on, every time I talk to someone, they're always nice and willing to assist, although my only complaint is the billing. When I first got with them, my bill was low and constant. Now, it seems like the price jumps every few months to a year. But other than that, I have no complaints. I recently purchased a television for my master bedroom so I went to Cox Cable to pick up a cable box. That should have been a simple process.The employee tried selling me all sorts of packages and all I wanted was a cable box so after politely declining all 300 sales pitches I finally got it !! Victory was mine !! I get home and it doesn't work. Called the 800 number and the employee at the store forgot to even put it on my account, too busy trying to "upgrade me" So I had to take it back. When I do take it back a couple weeks later after 45 minutes the guy there says they do not have any more boxes but I can drive to Fairview and pick one up. So two trips to the "solutions" store and a phone call and still don't have the extra cable box. Took the guy 45 minutes to figure out they don't have one. Funny part was he says they always run out of boxes on the weekend so I said then you should load up on them. His response was they just run out anyways, like there was a line around the block for cable boxes and the store was full of them this morning.... NOT !! If you routinely run out of a product you are selling,shouldn't you take corrective measures rather than shrug your shoulders and say uh huh huh we like always run out of them or something....... was like dealing with Beavis and Butthead. Contracts for price lock-ins but a few months later monthly rate goes up. I have had Cox cable over a year now. I started out with only cable with one box. I thought i could get a better deal so I contacted other providers for quotes. Not long after i got off the phone with Direct TV did COX contact me and tell me " as a preferred customer we have a special deal for you" they quoted me at $89.99 price lock guarantee for 24 months if I bundled internet, cable and phone. Well I received my first bill since then change and come to find out I did not get the deal i was promised.. Instead they are charging me $142.47 before taxes!!
