If you are a professional relying on consistent, low-latency network routing -- avoid Spectrum at all costs. Spectrum's support infrastructure is not just insufficient; it is fundamentally incapable of recognizing or addressing Layer 3 routing anomalies, which are core to network stability. When presented with undeniable evidence of packet flow failure, including traceroute loops within Spectrum's own autonomous system, support staff (including supervisors) defaulted to a robotic "If you can access the internet, it's not us" script -- a statement so staggeringly ignorant it should disqualify them from operating in the broadband space. This isn't about bandwidth. This is about path integrity, gateway misconfiguration, and internal blackhole routing. Spectrum demonstrably traps traffic in its own regional mesh, silently failing before packets even have the opportunity to leave their infrastructure. Their network fails silently -- packets are routed into internal cul-de-sacs, returning repeated timeouts and loopbacks. This is not hypothetical. It is observable, reproducible, and logged. Yet Spectrum's "tiered" support system is staffed by individuals who wouldn't recognize TTL decay or an asymmetric route if it danced naked in front of them wearing a Wireshark t-shirt. Attempts to escalate to tier 2 or 3 result in being gaslit by a front-line script reader who interprets "I can ping Google" as conclusive proof of end-to-end route health. No understanding of intermediary hops, no knowledge of BGP, no grasp of path MTU, and certainly no access to route tracing tools inside their own infrastructure. It is baffling that in 2025, a major ISP can operate with such technical negligence, blindly pushing firmware updates and throttling QoS without the faintest awareness of the impact on application-layer systems that require deterministic routing behavior. Spectrum is fine for watching cat videos. But if you're running any application -- financial, telemetric, industrial -- that depends on round-trip time, consistent uplink, or even rudimentary IP path transparency, this ISP will actively sabotage your operations. read more

I don't know where to begin- we called to turn on our home internet after purchasing a property in Lakeland, FL. We had to deactivate the former owners account by sending in our closing documents. 24 hours later we called back, activated our home internet, and equipment showed up Tuesday. We opted not to activate the barn's internet since we thought extenders might do the trick. They did not. That's where the positive experience ended and the insanity began. We called back to activate the barn internet (former owners had a router there as well) and the new rep: couldn't find it even through we spelled out what the former rep had told us about how the accounts were separated; insisted on calling the former owner; when she couldn't reach her she asked if we could text her (we don't have their info -everything was done through a realtor). When I asked why she needed to get her permission when the house was already in our names- she stated fraud; didn't trust that the last rep did their job to verify ownership; and flat out wouldn't listen to common sense reasoning. The barn is on our property...you can literally google it and the "apartment a" that they formally used to delineate it was clerical. They could have even compared the names on the former account- they were literally at the same location. She demanded that I send her the closing documents again- for what purpose? Our home internet wouldn't already be in our names if that hadn't been previously verified. If they were looking for something with apartment a on it... they would be sorely disappointed. IT IS ALL ONE PROPERTY. The rep was extremely pushy and talked over us the entire time. I finally had enough of the back and forth. I asked for a supervisor. She continued to argue with me. She didn't send me to one. She put me on hold for extended periods of time, checked in once demanding I send her the proof they'd already verified days ago; and put me back on hold again. She refused to send me a supervisors email/number. She refused to request a call back. I would give them 0 stars if I could and as soon as I find a replacement out here- we're moving on to a different company. Do NOT send a salesperson to my house again. My community is no soliciting and because I was interested in the service, the saleswoman told me she would send me a pamphlet on the services. Instead, she mailed me a box which ended up costing me $99. If a spectrum salesperson is in my community again the police will be called. read more

It's not bad enough to wait for at least an hour here on a waiting list then the Spectrum clerk skipped over my name even though i told him before the next person came to his station. I protested and still was forced to wait for the person in line behind me to be served. It seems some of the employees here are woke since I have noticed preferential service to people of a race as far as when you will be served. I won't go to this Spectrum store again and will try another store even if it is farther away. read more

Just an FYI, don't connect anything via Ethernet cable to their equipment. They do not follow NEC code during install, which can lead to a power surge coming through their line and ruining your expensive electronics. Also, if you're not getting the advertised speed, keep calling for them to send someone out. It took me many tries, but I finally got a decent tech and the correct speed. He advised me that there was too much noise on my line and that's why my speeds were diminished. The funniest part is if they did half their job correctly, I would have had the correct speed via Wi-Fi and never had to plug in a cable. Now I wonder how many times I would have replaced their equipment because they only do a visual inspection of the ground. So long as it's hooked to something, they claim that's fine. That's amazing to me in the year 2022 with all the tests we can run with a simple multimeter. If you call the retention department, they'll usually knock some money off your bill to keep you as a customer. Those people are super nice too because they give out free money all day lol. I've been fighting with them so long now it's laughable and I could probably pass the electrician's exam at this point. The only damage after the storm that started this mess was their equipment and anything connected to it starting with a splitter in their line (where the power surge obviously came in). I doubt they'll ever make it right, but they did lie to the FCC so I'm hopeful something will happen now. read more

Our whole life and business revolves around this email. After many hours trying to rectify this problem. Going into the store etc.. This guy did it . He got our email back . This company is going to put themselves out of business. There service is mediocre at best, but they continue to increase there prices without having any concern if their customers can afford it or not. My bill goes up very few months, yet I don't have any premium channels. I started 2021 paying $179, that your ended with my bill at $211. On the very first month of 2022 they raised it a few dollars, and continued to increase throughout the year. My last 2022 bill was $268. Now on my first bill for 2023 says that my bill will increase to $283. Based on the frequent increases from 2022 I have no doubt my bill will be at over $300 by the end of 2023. That's it for me. I'm going to get an antenna installed and sticking with just on streaming service. I am also going to look for a different internet service. read more

If I could give this store a zero I would. I ended up going to UPS to drop off because that's all I was there to do. It took me 5 minutes at UPS. The UPS worker told me that the person she had helped before me had been waiting for 2 hours before she left the same Spectrum store. I waited at Spectrum for 30 minutes before I left and had 10 people in front of me. There were 6 help centers but only two people helping. A third "helper" went in the back room. One of the two "workers" who were out went to the back after telling me to sign in at the (tiny) tablet. Then an elderly man came in and I helped him with the tablet. I told the remaining "helper" who was out there that I should be paid because I'm doing part of her job for her. She ignored me. After she was done selling a service to a couple (which took her 30 minutes) she also went into the back room and left the 15 people who were in the lobby there. They didn't communicate with anyone as has been said in other posts. Absolutely terrible. read more
