First for moving from my things from my sold home to storage until I found a home to purchase and then a second time from storage to my new home. For each time from the initial contact for the appointment to the final move I could not have asked for better service. All of my questions were answered, I was informed the evening before and the morning of the moves of arrival times so I was prepared. The movers took great care of my things even though they worked quickly and ensured things were left where I wanted them.

We paid for full service because we are both currently injured and could not do the work ourselves, and we came to them through a family recommendation. The crew was scheduled to arrive between 11:00 and 12:00 and showed up around 2:00. We were told there had been an accident, and we understand things happen. But by the time they arrived, we had already packed everything except the kitchen ourselves. Packing the kitchen alone took them roughly three and a half hours, and even then the refrigerator was never emptied and items were left sitting on the counters. The team seemed very inexperienced. They needed direction on the simplest tasks, had zero spatial awareness, and moved at a snail's pace. They were also strikingly inefficient, taking a single item at a time to the elevator and riding up to the new unit instead of loading it first, and theykept doing it even after we suggested otherwise. Eventually we asked them to stop handling our dressers because we were worried about damage and about someone getting hurt. To keep the time and the bill from spiraling, we moved boxes, cleared out both closets, and carried furniture ourselves. It is not an exaggeration to say my partner and I did at least 60% of the move. I ended up moving two large dressers on my own with an injured ankle because they couldn't figure out how to maneuver it into the closet. Afterward we sent a detailed message, and owner Natalya called. The conversation centered almost entirely on the late arrival. The labor we ended up doing and the unfinished kitchen and refrigerator were never really engaged with. When we raised how inexperienced the crew seemed, we were told they had more than 10 years of experience, which flatly contradicted what we had just watched. The most she offered was a $100 discount, which she described as the entire profit on the job. We have used movers several times before for larger and more complicated moves, and every one went better than this. I would not recommend this company.

The worst Uhaul experience I've ever had. Called to confirm they had a truck, waa told they had…read moreseveral. Arrived 15 minutes later and was told they didn't think they had any. I asked about a truck I saw and the clerk said he would check on it. He rented me the truck, did not ask me how long I needed it, just set it for 4 hours. I had to have him change it. Also, despite UHaul's policy (outlined on their website) that they don't charge a deposit when using a debit card, this location will try to charge you a 100 mile deposit. When I did finally get the truck after arguing about the deposit, I got on my way to pick yp my furniture. It's July. It's hot. Portland traffic is in full effect. And now I find out this truck has no air Not no AC, the fan does not turn on. I reported this upon returning the truck and requested they waive the additional mileage charge and any refueling charge (I had used a small amount of gas). They said they'd have to ask the manager. When he came out he did not acknowledge me. Went to the truck and sat out there for 20 minutes doing who knows what. I finally went out to ask him if we were good. He said yes. I left. Then this morning I get an email saying I owe UHaul $42. This guy needs his franchise revoked. I have rented from UHaul several times before from the Powell blvd location and never had any problems. UHaul's corporate response to this matter was to tell me tough cookies. So now I won't even use Uhaul at all.

I can't believe I've never reviewed The UPS Store--I've been going there for years…read more Even as recently as last year, I would have written a "uggghhhh" review of the location due to the frequent snippiness of the counter staff. But this year, I've (frankly) had a delightful time doing Amazon returns there. The counter staff I've dealt with have been very helpful and speedy. And the returns process for me (unlike a few other recent reviewers, alas) has been super easy compared to battling the returns machine at Whole Foods. One pro tip: if you're walking from the south, there's a crosswalk across Sandy, right by the location. Very handy.

They charge a 2 hr minimum, but they worked REALLY hard and quick and got our move from 1 bed apt to a house done in 2hrs 10min. After 2hrs they charge in 15min increments which is good. The guys were courteous, hardworking, professional, very careful in handling of materials and strived to make sure everything was done according to our plans and desires. They continued to send angry text messages after the conversation was complete, yet apparently I am a Karen for expecting straightforward business practices and communication.
