It has been a few years but feel others should know how I was treated during a move with this company. I highly DO NOT recommend them. Have used this company move me several times. This year was horrible! Most of the time, the owner guy stacked boxes in the truck, while other 2 guys brought items to him. One of the workers was very good, kept a good pace and good attitude. The other tall guy has a bad attitude and poor helper! The 2 helpers were wrapping a fragile antique cabinet. When I walked into room, I said in a very normal tone, "be sure to wrap well, it's an antique and be sure to protect the front glass". The tall guy, went & told his boss I yelled at him?? There is no way I yelled at him! When I went outside to bring an item to owner in truck, he started yelling at me, saying "his helpers said I yelled at them, feel I'm rushing them. Also yrs ago I gave them the worst review they've ever received and doesn't understand why I keep hiring them to help me move", etc. Also mentioned he was in a bad mood and had yelled at his 2 workers prior to arriving at my apt". This must have set the negative mood for the day. I let him know, not rushing them and didn't yell at them!! (Must have been the tall guy) Next day, several of my neighbors at the apt area said how taken back they were that he was yelling at me! They know I'm always nice, don't get angry and the movers not professional behavior, etc. The tall guy after telling his boss I yelled at him, etc must have made him feel he could now sluff, carrying one light item or small to truck slowly when could have should have carried more at one time like the other helper. The nice guy was doing most of the work! The tall guy would give me a smirky look like there's nothing you can do about it. I'd often see the tall guy just standing around, etc. If I was coming into my apt same time he was, he'd close the door on me, then give me a smirk look. I had asked owner to be sure items packed in truck so don't rub against anything to get damaged during the move. The leg of my recliner was deeply gouged and 2 antique chairs scratched. The tall guy threw a garden art of dragon flies that light up at night on the ground and now does not work. At my new house, I nicely asked them to keep my items on the left side of garage separate from my landlords items on the right. The tall guy sometimes ignored this. When done unloading, last item was my bike to go into garage. He picked it up and TOSSED it into the landlords side of garage. It was going to tip over so he gave it a shove into my landlords daughters bike. His coworker stood there and watched him. When done, the owner guy told me I owed $835 as took 5 hours to move me. This co has moved me about 6 times. Never paid over $600. The tall guy was big cause I had to pay more. First time they moved me, I gave a good review, but mentioned the truck driver drove 10 miles under speed limit no matter what the speed limit was. I hired them again because they were better than the guys hired after first hiring them. They did good the next few times. It's just his helper, the tall guy. After moving me, I later called his wife who schedules appts as was in question why have to pay mileage from their start location to my apt. She let me know by law they have to charge for travel to site and was included in an email sent to me. I don't recall seeing that. I let her know what happened while moving my items and she told me they are known to be a premium or exclusive moving co and in the future I should hire someone else. Was rude and very non professional! I would not recommend this co to help move your items. They are young with immature attitudes, unprofessional, damaged 3 of my items and not a premium moving co!! read more

I called them on Monday 3/28 because the movers I had scheduled didn't show up. I spoke with Kathryn (co-owner) and she was very nice. I texted her a list of what I thought I had and also told her that I had A LOT of outdoor planted pots and outdoor furniture. She said although they don't like moving that kind of stuff, they will do it. Kathryn also made a recommendation to save me some money, which I appreciated. HOWEVER, on the day of my move, things fell apart FAST. Brent, Kathryn's Husband showed up and told me it was against OSHA rules to move my outdoor plants. Later, Kathryn told me that Brent just didn't want to move my plants. I ended up having to rent a UHAUL to move my plants which cost me an additional $220 on top of my $2000 moving bill!!! I have never had a moving bill so high in my life and I have moved A LOT! They were supposed to arrive at 10am but didn't get to my apartment until 12:45pm. Overtime fees start at 7pm. I thought their prices were quite high ($171.35 per hour) but I couldn't be picky at that point. Now looking back, it would have been cheaper to rent my apartment for another month. There were 3 guys working on moving, but the owner (Brent) was on his phone most of the time so I would count him as 1/2 a person. I had my boxes marked for the rooms they were to go into. MOST of the boxes DID NOT make it into ANY of the rooms they were supposed to go in. It's been two weeks and I still can't find much of my stuff. I have a small Rubbermaid shed for the backyard that the guys put in my backyard on a slope with a heavy metal shelving unit in it. They told me they would put it back together, but since it was completely dark out by the time they were unloading, it didn't get done. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to put an unstable shed in the middle of a yard on a slope. The following day I woke up and it had been blown over and it knocked over our wooden fence. I texted Kathryn a picture and spoke with her about several of the issues. She said she and Brent couldn't really tell that there was any damage to the fence but it wasn't really their issue anyway. I told her that one of the movers put my son's bunkbed together wrong and my son cut his knee requiring stitches. I also told her that almost none of my boxes got put where they were supposed to (which is the whole reason you hire movers). Kathryn said that there was nothing compensable about my claims, it was really just feedback for the guys to do better next time. She said she could reimburse me half of the cost of the Uhaul but that was about it. She said I shouldn't have had to rent it, but it saved me some overtime costs. She never sent me any money. I reached out to her a week later and told her I wanted her to reimburse me the full cost of the Uhaul and she said she would only do half because it actually did save me money. I told her to go ahead and send half and we could keep having a conversation. She told me that she would NOT send the money and I could file a claim with ODOT. DO NOT TRUST THESE MOVERS!! I believe they take their time to jack up the prices. I have read other reviews on here that say that the owners will gaslight negative reviewers. I have to say one thing positive. Devin, one of the movers was an absolute delight. He was so very kind and I don't want this to look bad for him. read more

These guys are my go to movers. They are on time, careful with my large heavy wooden furniture and gental with the glass. They are always pleasant and congenital. The husband wife team that owns the company are very hands on. I've met both of them and they have excellent work ethic. The things that I appreciate most about this team is there flexibility. Throughout the rescheduling and ice storm change of plans they were super accessible and accommodating. They even rented me their moving blankets so that I didn't have to buy them to keep them in storage during the move. read more

I'm sure they will spin this negative review and make it my fault, because that is what they seem to do with the negative reviews. First of all, two of three guys arrived on time with now truck. Truck arrived 45 minutes late. I could forgive that. Second of all....They scratched my floor by dragging a heavy piece of furniture. I saw it, said something to one of the guys and he brushed it off. I mentioned it to Kathryn, who I think does all the communicating, and she blamed me and my kid. She said she asked the guys who moved me and they all claimed I never said anything and that I had a helper and that he did it. Guys, let me tell you that my helper was my 13 year old son and the item they moved was an 185 pound piece of furniture (a big tv stand). I hired them to move that, not my 13 year old son. Next, the bed. They assembled it, backwards. First of all, the headboard is backwards. Second of all, there is a big gap in the middle of it so when you sit on the middle there is no support. I asked they re do it and it was no better. Turns out, I just found, three more support bars that were never installed. And where are the bolts for it? Where did they go? Who knows. I tried to fix the bed, but guess what!? They stripped a bolt and now I cannot get the bed apart. Great. Now...this is the last thing, I promise. My TV. I left to go get the guys drinks and some snacks. I came back and they were taking my tv down. I hadn't packed it or asked for it to be moved but they were taking it down. I thought that was great! I left to go up to my new apartment and came back and the tv was on the truck, but they didn't use the supplied tv box I had for it. Ok...fine. A week later I go to hang it up and I kid you not, it's broken. No, I couldn't see the damage until it was plugged in. I just bought that tv in November and now I am out a tv. I mentioned it to Kathryn and guess what, she said "I'm sorry you are upset about the floor, but blaming us a week after your move for your broken TV isn't going to fix your floor". You know what will fix my floor? The money I now have to pay to fix it. What is going to fix my TV? Not the crappy $20 something dollars they offered as a settlement! No, it will be the money I will have to pay to replace it. And the bed? What will fix that? The money I will have to spend on the tool to drill out the stupid bolt thing that is stripped so I fix it. read more

He was slow and so the move took longer than it should have and therefore cost me more money. Jeff broke a chair, hit walls in my house moving things, and was in clear pain throughout the move. They broke the chair my handicapped mother sleeps/lives in. They also took her wheel chair to storage and mixed up a few different items. The paperwork with the hours worked was filled out incorrectly, and obviously errored in favor of the company. They won't take responsibility for any of the issues at hand, partially because the workers lied about the situation to their boss. Update: If you leave a negative review, you may be lucky enough to receive a condescending voicemail about how they "don't care, because we don't even use yelp". read more

Recently hired PDX Premier College Movers to move me. Kathryn promised me that everything would go smooth and they would handle my belongings as though they were their own, she is a good sell. They had many + reviews. I asked many questions and Kathryn was quick to reply very positively. I told her what I had and she did not want or need any photos or a walk through before hand. She said one truck would work fine. So, I scheduled my move. I have many antiques and wanted them handled with extreme care. Wanted to know about insurance to be protected and she stated that that paperwork would be done upon the move. I packed most everything myself, making sure to mark each and every box top and sides (what room it goes to and Do Not Stack, Fragile, etc.) and staged them in the garage, except the furniture. Brent her husband/owner came on time on 09/15/20 with two other workers. I walked through with Brent and asked him to explain how everything would be protected and moved, I emphasized how to care for my antique furniture. I am disabled so it was hard to keep up with them. I did take photos before they arrived, during and after. I went to my garage to see how things were going and literally saw one worker toss a stack of particle board supports on top on one of my antiques. Both Brent & I saw this, sure enough it had scratches and gouges on the top. I told him this could not have been emphasized enough on not to do this! He said sorry it would not happen again and reassured me he would be on top of his crew to be more careful.Then when they were moving my bed mattress, I brought out I plastic bags I had and the mover said they dont use those, it makes it difficult to move them. I said how can you keep them sanitary? He said we will wrap them in clean moving blankets. My mattresses and box springs were drag, scratched, torn, punctured and filthy with dirt, splinters and handprints upon the unloading. Before the truck was loaded Brent told me he could not move everything in one load. At first Kathryn said it would take two more weeks. Then she said another crew of 3 would move me even better than the first crew 09/16. She had to be in court with her husband and brother the following day but reassured me this was my only option other than waiting which could not be done as I sold my house and had to move. Next day movers came, I did not watch them do most of the loading as I was busy cleaning the house. When we got to my new home, they were just putting boxes here and there and I was having to ask them to put them in the correct rooms. Stacked boxes marked do not stack. The last pieces off the truck were my antique 1920's China Cabinet and a 1700's Curio Cabinet. When they brought in only half of my china cabinet I became unglued. This is one piece, they snapped it into half. It was clearly stated it was one piece and how I wanted it to be moved and protected; my ask was not only completely ignored but they snapped it into two pieces severely damaging it. Then I went into the truck and said make sure this piece doesn't get damaged and said lift it here and not here or there. Before I could hobble off the truck one of them said, hey, this piece just fell off onto the floor. I went and looked and that piece was ripped off, nails bent wood chips on the floor of the truck. I was crying. Kathryn said I still had to pay and could make a claim after. They ruined a lot of my furniture my antiques, my mission oak bedframe, my mule chest and drawers and mirror all chipped and scratched, mattresses and box springs filthy one box spring so damaged I told them to take it with them as it was now garbage. No care was taken moving anything. Kathryn said all I had to do was file a claim. She said " the procedure is just to send me an email with what damage you feel was caused with pictures and then for us to come to an agreement." So I did this with before, during and after photos and days went by and I did not here from her. Finally 09/22 she replied via text message, said she had surgery and did not receive anything from me, then changed to she had not even checked their email. She said her husband would and get back to me. Today 09/30/20 I sent her a text, after two other emails were ignored. She replied "Yes Brent will respond as soon as he's available. It's been non-stop here." I asked to send a detailed email as I was going to be unavailable. She responds " Brent is extremely sick, it might be COVID! I know he outlined an email to you but he doesn't have energy to send it, I apologize." This freaked me out, the workers were not always wearing their masks because there was the smoke issue. I asked if he's getting tested, I need to know asap if they have exposed me to COVID, as I have compromise immunity. She replies " You are RUDE" I will no longer communicated with you. The three guys that were sent were professional, friendly, trustworthy, capable, efficient, flexible... everything you could ask for. We had a good move with some very nice gentlemen assisting us. This was my first time arranging a move online and with Thumbtack. Being a novice and needing a certain comfort zone, I contacted our mover so I could speak with a human and confirm arrangements. Kathryn immediately contacted me back to give me a piece-of-mind. There were some items I would like to see changed up in their business approach as I would like to use them in the future, but the changes below would need to be in place. 1. Arrived 15 minutes late. A quick phone call to let us know the status or if you need some extra directions. 2. Did not have the "saran wrap" to secure dresser drawers. One drawer rolled out and hit another piece of our furniture. 3. There was a hand cart in the U-haul truck they brought, but they were not using it. Use of this would have expedited the move and helped them physically. I was at our other location during the loading phase so it was not immediately noticed by myself. For the unloading phase we have a hand cart and offered it for their use, which they did utilize. We did not question why they were not using the one on their truck so that is on us. 4. Not enough padding brought. We had lots of pictures, glass table tops, and a TV, but my husband saw they were out of pads so we told them we would move them ourselves. 5. Paying with a credit card had to be called into our contact as the movers can only accept cash or check. We could not reach our contact nor could the lead mover so we ended up writing a check. Our contact did reach us and gave us the option to pay by credit card and she would destroy the check, but for comfort level we left well enough alone. Also, we were told to make the check out to our contacts name and not the company name, which was odd. With the few changes above I would absolutely give five stars. read more

Horrible customer service! Very unprofessional from the first phone contact. The receptionist was disorganized and seemed unsure how many jobs they had for the day I was requesting. She texted me 3 days before the move and wanted to let me know they would be really late in the day because she scheduled another person and put them ahead of me. I let her know that wouldn't work and if we could be first it would work out well. She texted back and said she had re-arranged the schedule and they should be at our place by 10 am. I thanked her and arranged to have the freight elevated reserved at my new apartment for that time. THE NIGHT BEFORE my move she TEXTS me to say they aren't going to be able to make it until late in the day again because her movers were out hunting and it would be such a long drive for them?! This was clearly a lie because all hunting has been cancelled due to the extreme fire danger. I was upset but remained as calm as I could considering the huge stress I was feeling and called her to discuss it (instead of the unprofessional texting) and said again this wont work, I've reserved the elevator and can't change now. She got mad and HUNG UP ON ME! I was shocked!. I of course had to some how find someone to help me move at 8 pm the night before! The company that did end up helping me said this happens all the time and that I was the 4th person this week that got screwed by this company and came to them for help. read more
