This is not Jolof Rice. Fried rice at best. But not Jolof.

It taste good. But it's not Jolof Service was to be expected at such an hour. Drinks ok. Fake bodies. Good music.

The food was really good and worth it for the price ! We couldn't even finish it all and took some home as well ! The place does have some parking space upon arrival but looked like it was limited cause it's close by the roadside The only problem we encountered was that our server gave us the old menu and prices were cheaper .. ‍ So, make sure you ask for the new & updated menu to avoid the confusion But overall nice place ! Bomb Suya ! Will be back

Antikeke Stew / fried Tilapia is to die for. I drive from NW , DC to have this a least once every week. The pepper is hot tonight!!!

I really like this place especially since it's nestled in Beltsville. It's close to home I don't have to go to DC to have fun. I would've rated it 5 stars but the last time I went there, they had boxes piled in the corner. I almost thought they were either closed for business or not opened yet. Sadly, they were open and they were not bothered by having beer boxes on the side.

The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.

Before that, I was literally bouncing in between the 1-tv that showed the football game that I was interested in and the corner of the pool table, where the entertainment/karaoke side is. On to the drinks, they were good! The bartender was a blessing to the evening. The food, we were not able to get as the kitchen was opened during the later hours - our party just didn't get our desired table space til later in the night when we were almost ready to go. Overall, it was not a bad experience. I believe this was my first time coming & wouldn't mind coming again, indeed to try the food, but DEF. earlier in the evening.

Luckily, it more than fit the bill. The atmosphere is definitely more like any other bar you'd go to rather than a hotel bar. A good L-shaped bar with plenty of seats, lots of tables of varying size and height. And plenty of TVs with a variety of games (in this case, college basketball, hockey, NBA). The food menu I believe had just been redone and was imaginative. The Cuban sandwich was a hit (outstanding bread, good size, plenty of meat, I could only eat half), as was the crab cake balls appetizer (worthy of the Maryland crab expectation). Seeing the other food that came out, nobody seemed disappointed. The portions per price wasn't the best, but it certainly was palatable (no pun intended). I might have wanted a few more evenings to sample the fare. The diversity of drinks was a plus, and a minus. They had a number of local bottles and taps, but seemed to be out of a few of them (or they were doing the "dreaded" keg change that rendered them foamy). Seems like a little bit better management here might help (it could very well be I just caught them on a few bad nights). Bartenders were very attentive and the service was quick. Most of the patrons were travelers, many by themselves so there were a lot making conversation for those who were solo. Would I make a special trip to this bar if I were in the area? Probably not. It would be a great place to meet friends after work and it was definitely a plus for someone like me without many travel options.

The first floor was a little small, but cute with a black interior, photo op area, clean bathrooms, and an upstairs we didn't get to check out. We mixed between the main menu and the $5 after 5 list and got the meat pie, chicken skewers, spring rolls, beef bites and yam with fish stew dip. Every single dish was fantastic either crispy or tender respectively, savory, and seasoned to perfection! Highly recommend the chicken skewers and carrot cake (carrot cake not pictured as it was devoured on the spot). The only con of the night was waiting a long time for our food, but the servers themselves were amazing (shoutout to KB, our awesome waiter and mixologist), the food was worth the wait, and they definitely kept us entertained in the interim with karaoke night on a Tuesday. Strawberry lemon drop - 10/10 - I love a good lemon drop but a I'll never pass up a flavored one. No notes. Shrimp & Grits - 5/10 - don't get me wrong it was GOOD but it was too rich/cheesy to me. I don't know what I was expecting in terms of cheese but I've never had soooooo much cheese in an order of shrimp and grits. I legit pulled a mound of cheese off the top and it was still too much. I couldn't finish this unfortunately, even taking them home for another day didn't work because I couldn't take the richness. Not a slight to them, just a no for me. There was a great amount of shrimp in the dish and the consistency of the grifts were amazing. Just need something to cut through the richness. From what I could tell, the staff are doing a wonderful job tending to the crowd. They do not have a drink menu, but there is a food menu. It was a mixture of bar food and some more unique dishes, like jerk salmon and jollof rice. $15 is a good price! That's what I ended up getting for myself. It didn't take long for it to arrive, and it was honestly more food than I expected. The jerk seasoning was a little salty, but not enough to take away from the meal overall -- still quite enjoyable! Then when it came to the bill we were charged $4 for each bottle (of which we were not even told there was a charge at all for water, and no we did not specifically ask for a sealed bottle all we asked for was water the sever never said tap or bottled, she just automatically brought us sealed) when on the menu they were priced at $3.50 sure it's .50 but when there was five that .50 extra could have almost bought another bottle. Also when she brought the bill she did not even show the itemized bill at first all she showed was the tip screen which upon doing the math from what we ordered vs paid we realized the amount was way higher than what we got and so we asked for the copy of the receipt only to find out there was ALREADY a service charge on there of which was NOT a credit card charge because we paid in cash and when asked what the cash total was she told us $60.31 yet the copy showed the cash price was $57.91 also they charge for charcoal, what am i suppose to do bring my own charcoal? i've never had to pay extra for charcoal they just include it with hookah price, absolutely ridiculous.
