Last week we switched our home internet from AT&T to Spectrum. We should have done this years ago. Our speed went from around 6 to over 950+ and for a cheaper cost too! Phone lines vs coaxial cables is why the speed is superior (our neighborhood doesn't have fiber optic option). I didn't know this vast difference until one of their salesman explained it to me and I did some simple online research. We tried out their TV option, but decided to keep our DirecTV since the cost wasn't much different and the family is more familiar with DirecTV's operating system. Have had a great experience from installation to having to return equipment at the local Spectrum store. Of course they have tried upselling along the journey, but what company doesn't? I paid for faster WiFi and consistently complained to spectrum about slow speeds. They finally sent a technician out who corrected the error. Spectrum refused to reimburse me for months of service slower than I paid for due to their technical problem's. The in person store has the slowest service. Waited 60 minutes just to return equipment. On top of that they helped people out of order from the list posted in the store. Helping others that came in after me before I was even helped! My iPhone stopped working yesterday so I went into Spectrum today to upgrade. I was dreading it. However Ramsin greeted me when I walked in. He went above and beyond to take care of me and my family. I am clueless when it comes to upgrades and such, he walked me through everything. Ramsin was able to get me in and out in less than an hour. He showed me all my phone options and even put the screen protector and new case on my phone. We were able to upgrade and bundle spectrum tv. I was not pleased about having to come to the store because I already paid for service. We just purchased a new TV that apparently spectrum services is not compatible with the TV unless of course you go down and pay additional money to purchase another box....grrrrr. This is not the issue of the spectrum store. This is an internal spectrum issue in totality. Back to the store! They had all types of technology to choose from laptops, desktop cell phones, earbuds anything you can think of they had it there. Unfortunately they were the only option where I lived. Awful internet and customer service. Internet went out almost every day had multiple techs come out and tell me nothing is wrong so there is nothing to fix. When I finally got away from them I cancelled a couple days after my billing cycle and was charged $96, I was told it would be refunded or prorated for the 3 days I was into the cycle after the equipment was returned... it was determined that was a lie. Her Customer Service skills and friendliness are characteristics that aren't always seen in our world today and on behalf of my husband and myself, we truly are thankful for her! Navigating through all the available options/packages with Spectrum (cable boxes, Xumo Stream Box, Cloud DVR Connect, Cloud DVR Plus, Spectrum TV Choice, installing App on Smart TV, internet, etc. ) which then leads to packages and bundles, we appreciated her clarifying different explanations we received (calling the 24/7 number versus in-store) and taking the time to do so in an unrushed manner, giving us the feeling that we were not just a number and being pushed through a production line. She was helpful, answered all our questions and if she wasn't quite sure on something, she would ask her Supervisor for confirmation. It was great to hear her say that she truly just wanted us to be happy and that are satisfaction was her goal and priority! I drove to a local store in turlock and was assisted by Lilyan Valdez. This young lady was so customer friendly voided out current orders and met my needs on adding three phones from another provider and she also dealt with the Tv package voided that one and which dropped our package their down to our budget. Not a lot of option for internet in my area but Spectrum is the WORST INTERNET PROVIDER!! Had them for only like 3-4 months and I'm done with them! Internet will be out for a few days at a time and connection would be on and off. Recently had a tech came by and change out the modem since it was connected but just wasn't working. Came into store to exchange the router the employees were so extremely rude. I didnt see the sign that says to sign in first. The employee asked if I know how to read. I FINALLY GET HELPED, I go home set it up and they gave us the wrong modem. I go back same day an hour later and they refused to help me. No employees to assist you, you can sign into the kiosk to check in but it doesn't really matter because they don't follow and only help those who ever complain the most about the wait time. There's at least 15 people in line and only one employee for the first 4 hours of opening. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE......My parents are elderly and my dad has dementia and they have this service and when installing they were told by my mom that he had dementia. She tells everyone because sometimes he says things that have nothing to do with the conversation and so in. My parents are not up to date with technology they needed something easy to navigate and my mom advised them they just want normal channels and nothing complicated due to his dementia. Now my parents have a huge bill because they failed to tell my parents that you can order premium channels on it and my dad just pushes buttons not knowing what he is doing. My mom called and and was told these were added on by remote and she asked that they cancel. They would not cancel until bill was paid in full. A senior citizen on a fixed income is supposed to pay 800 dollars ummmm....no! Now the bill is higher and they finally took them off. I told them I feel like this should be lowered since they have asked since may to take them off but they refuse. When my mom mentioned the the service tech that her husband has dementia maybe they could have explained parental controls. Especially since she let them know he has a hard time so basic was all she needed due to him having it. They are doing this to rip elderly people off. It would be that easy for a child as well. I have had a consistent problems ever since Spectrum TV & Internet were installed several years ago and those are as follow: The volume is ALWAYS going in and out and not on any one specific channel and I am CONTINUALLY losing my internet connection. No amount of complaint calls, trouble shooting phone sessions or technicians sent out to my home have EVER eliminated either of these problems. I am not happy that Spectrum is unable to fix either of these problems AND the only service they actually seem to offer is raising their prices! *smh read more

After 6 years of dealing with the worst internet, we finally broke up with Spectrum thanks to Verizon. At the time spectrum was the only internet service that reached out to the more rural areas, but not anymore! I went to drop of our equipment hoping to just dump it and go, but unfortunately nothing is ever simple with charter! They wanted me to check in, and wait. Um. Why exactly? I'll never know. They said two people were ahead of me, or I could go to the UPS store and drop it off there. WHAT?! WHY?! Made a "reservation" online to exchange equipment. They paid no attention to the reservation...I signed in and they took people in line they did not pay any attention to the reservation. Be warned. I had internet with Spectrum and was offered phone service. I went in for phone service with my new undamaged Galaxy S20+ to switch from Verizon to Spectrum. I was told by the store employee that my phone was not compatible and I would need to upgrade to their Galaxy S22+ to get the phone service?????? I pointed out my phone was in perfect condition and I wasn't there for a new phone just phone plan. They said I had to if I wanted their service. I then asked repeatedly and in depth if ALL of my photos , contacts and videos would completely transfer. She assured me they would. I was still apprehensive so I asked for a manager to confirm this information. Along comes Jose, I still cannot believe Jose lied to my face and also helped his employee lie to my face and tell me my phone wasn't compatible but no worries ALL of my content would safely transfer. Still apprehensive I agreed. As I had feared nothing transferred. I've lost irreplaceable pictures and videos not to mention all my contacts. The worst part, I was on the phone today with their corporate office and legal department and found out my phone was compatible all along and they just wanted the commission from the sale. I probably will never get my content back and it breaks my heart but at least their legal department is working on my case. Things aren't looking too good for Jose if you ask me, somebody is going to pay quite substantially for defrauding me and essentially robbing me if you break it down it was robbery. Absolutely the worst customer service I've dealt with. I ordered Spectrum internet service, and they were very nice and helpful setting me up with a free self install kit. What they failed to tell me is that they didn't service my address. So when I installed the modem and nothing worked, I called them and they said they would send someone out. Never mentioned anything about being charged for this. After receiving my bill I called to dispute the service call, was told that I would have to talk to Tech Support to reverse any charges. I was put on hold for 25 minutes (I timed the wait time) only to get a very rude tech lady who said "you called the wrong department". I told her I was transferred - she said she'd transfer me to billing because they would handle it. Well, if I thought this couldn't get any worse, I was kidding myself. The "customer service" by the guy in billing was non existent. He was cocky and had a non caring attitude. He flat out said that's company policy and he can't do anything about it, and that he could transfer me to the cancellation department. I told him he needs to be trained in customer service. All I got was silence and then the transfer tone. WOW! I'm stunned that this type of service passes for "service". Mike, I hope you get help. Too bad I can't give a negative star. read more

They were changing me for equipment I didn't have and refused to credit back once caught

I just spent over 2 hours on a chat that resulted in an escalation to management that led to the worst customer service I've encountered in a very long time! I have had a terrible connection since I've signed up for this service. I have spent countless hours on the phone, on chat and with technicians in my house only to be told that, they show a perfect signal on their end! My internet goes out every 20 minutes! I just upgraded my service as a result of the last time I contacted the company for help. I was told maybe I didn't have fast enough equipment so, I upgraded service, they sent a new modem and even suggested a signal booster and a new router. Well, I purchased those things along with the service upgrade only to still have the same problem and this "manager says" we can send a technician (again) but it will be a fee of $49.99 and an increase of $5 per month. No attempt to treat me like a paying customer who has been having the problem for years! They claimed they couldn't look into my past issues and inquiries, they could only deal with right now, and right now, the problem is the outside router (that their CS rep suggested)! Am I crazy? Is there no such thing as actual customer service anymore? I am disgusted! read more
