Customer Warning - Dishonest Promotion Practices The owner/manager(dark hair with mustache hindu/hispanic) does not honor the "Buy 5 oil changes, get 1 free" deal. I was given a keychain card and had already received 4 stamps. I've brought all three of my cars here regularly, always using Mobile 1 synthetic oil. Now he claims each car needs its own separate card and showed me on his computer that the car I brought in only had two services. If that were true, why did he keep stamping my single card every visit before? It's clear that once he saw I only needed one more stamp for a free oil change, he decided not to honor his own promotion. I was a loyal customer who trusted this shop, but not anymore. Left my key stamp card on his tool box in front of him and left. I'll take my business elsewhere. The guy in the pictures, the owner / manager berated his employee in front of me for about 5 minutes. Called him an MFer used the F word repeatedly from under the hood of my car. He asked the employee in front of me, if he was on drugs. When the employees asked why would you ask that, The owner/manager replied because you've been to the bathroom twice in an hour. The employee stated that his stomach was upset The owner / manager said you use the bathroom on your lunch time, the employee replied, I've been asking to go to lunch for quite some time. Then the owner / manager said, well we're too damn busy. You can't have it both ways guy. Then he told the employee to clock out and go home, the employee said I still have 2 hours left on my shift owner / manager says get the F out and go home. He told the employee he hasn't done anything all day. I was waiting for over an hour inside the shop, inside my car and the employee appeared to me to be working. Then the employee said, well while I wasn't "working" the last guy just gave me a $20 tip, can I have that before I go home. owner/manager no! employee well I really need it, owner/manager no, we don't give tips from credit cards. This exchange went on for over 5 minutes. This owner/manager has created a hostile work environment, with his abhorrent behavior. He disciplined and belittled an employee in front of myself and everyone else else within earshot. This is totally inappropriate, this owner / manager has no business working in any public service industry. If I were the employee I would get an attorney. You do not deserve to be treated that way and you don't have to tolerate it. I did not need to see the owner / manager's foolish behavior either. He essentially ruined my day. As for me, I will never use this business again. The following week I took my other car to a different store where they conducted themselves in professional, respectful and efficient manner. Business is a scam! Will be filing a lawsuit. Brought my vehicle 3 different times and still have yet to have my problem solved. - they started off with labeling my car as a different car and year - Each visit someone told me something that contradicted the other, employee on 1st visit said rear brakes pad are good, 2nd visit oh your Pads are bad (manager even admitted employee probably didn't check them), then 3rd visit manager says I buy premium quality pads but proceeds to tell me maybe we need to try a different one. - Manager ( Sunny) even attempted to tell me he doesn't hear a loud noise on our test drive coming from the brakes, the employee who actually worked on the Vehicle even said oh I can still hear a noise when we pulled back into the shop. read more

Transmission flush. Feb 2nd took Clovis SpeeDee lube two days to complete a diagnostic and tune-up for $1190.18. Feb 16th they finally received and replaced 4WD electronic module, for another $700. Drove less than 50 miles, only to have 4WD service light to return on the 24th. Back to Clovis SpeeDee lube... mechanic was not available. Back on Monday and apparently the only mechanic that can work on it was out sick. Back on Tues before they opened. Checked in by 8:20, by 9:30 car still sitting outside. You'd think this would be a priority since it is a warrantied repair on maintenance they performed on the 16th. Will never recommend this shop to anyone! Have to select a star in order to post review, but in actuality I rate ZERO stars for this shop. They are more interested in what they can pull in and push out rather than honoring their own warranty repairs! No consideration for their customers. An hour and a half and two more test drives and I'm still waiting. read more

My wife just had a fluid service done on her 2016 Honda Accord today. She was not provided the price on your menu board and had to haggle with the owner to get correct amount, not even honoring their own coupon. My family has been going to your shop for years and how the owner "Suny" treated my wife rudely, pushing papers at her and being dismissive, stating "people make mistakes"?! I love taking my Honda Prelude to your shop but maybe I should look into going somewhere else if loyal customers are treated this way. Vs. this place is superstardom... Much needed Oil Change for my spare car Acura TL. Pulled in to this place without any appointment... Gentlemen came and asked me few questions and showed me the 4 options I had for my Oil Change... after me staring at the prices for a min he told me the difference between each and the benefits of going from bottom to top ... then asked me what have I always used for this car... and then recommend to go with what I am use to... Went in for a routine oil change & was told I needed a new serpentine belt soon. Didn't have any issues or heard any noises, but it was my only day off & had to travel the next day, so I agreed to have it done. Bad idea! Next day, traveled 3 hours outta town & started to hear a noise when I was driving. By the time I got to my destination, the noise from the belt was so loud! STAY AWAY from this business!!! I took my vehicle to Speedee Oil Change in Clovis, Ca. (736 Clovis Ave 559-323-8398) for an oil change on Friday July 2nd. While on my way home from work on Tuesday July 6th, with only 33 miles on it since the oil change, my oil light came on and as I was pulling over my engine started knocking and smoking. I called a tow truck and immediately after I called Saini (Sunny) at Speedee oil change and told him of the situation. He told me to have the vehicle towed to his shop and he would look at it. I called a day or two later and Saini said the oil filter gasket was defective and my motor was seized and wouldn't start. 2 weeks have now gone by and Saini REFUSES to replace my motor or give me "Fair market" value for my vehicle. This is my commuter vehicle that I use for work and I had to find another vehicle so I could work so this was money out of my pocket that I should not have to pay. This is only a brief description of events as Saini has NEVER called me once! I have had to call him or drive to his shop to discuss and he continues to refuse to fix my vehicle when he is legally liable for my motor being destroyed! When I asked for an ETA they looked at a clipboard with the papers on it... that they had just taken off another car and told me about 30 minutes. I know it wasn't the papers for my car because I could still see them on the windshield. Lazy and lying. Definitely things you want in a business. Avoid this place. Did not give me back my wheel lock key. How can anybody not give back a wheel lock key and set up a customer to have a flat but unable to take off the tire out in the middle of nowhere? This shop CAN and HAVE done that. They have numerous wheel locks from customers in their shop and even had the gull to give me a random wheel lock key to make me go away. Hello...random wheel lock keys don't fit my wheel locks! They also gave me the wrong oil for my vehicle which was out of spec. Furthermore, they broke my wheel hub cover and told me it was broken beforehand. Go read the reviews giving great reviews of this place. You decide which reviews are well planned. WARNING! I took my 2011 Yukon in yesterday to have the oil changed, front brakes and rotors changed, and to also have the brake fluid and rear differential fluid flushed and changed. When I picked up my vehicle, everything seemed fine until I was about 15 miles down the road. When I came to a complete stop, I noticed some grinding sounds coming from the car as well as a burning smell that was not burning oil. I had another mechanic take a look at the car and this is what he told me, "Rear end differential fluid was never changed. There is a bearing missing which causes the fluid to leak. Fluid should be 1/2" below the plug. It's 2" below the plug right now after they 'serviced' it. Also, they should have noticed the leak and informed you that it needs to be fixed in order to avoid further damages later down the road. Fluid is completely black and thick which shows it was never changed. Transmission fluid also needed to be serviced." SpeeDee never mentioned to me that the transmission fluid needed to be serviced as well. I called SpeeDee today and informed the "manager" what had happened and he had no intention in fixing the problem or refunding me for a service I was charged for which was never performed. He told me to "check with the dealer about the problem." Why would I need to check with the dealer about a problem that your so-called "mechanics" should have noticed? Why was I not notified about this potential hazardous problem before I was given the keys to my car to drive off in? My back end was locking up because of the mistake this place made. I bring in my work truck as well as my personal vehicles to this place to be serviced and after what I experienced yesterday, I will never think about bringing any vehicle to this location to be serviced again. Having your vehicle serviced here puts you at the risk of damaging your vehicle even more after paying for it to be fixed. I am out a couple hundred dollars now because of the stupidity of this place. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED; NEVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE TO BE SERVICED. read more

Raised the price that he originally gave me by $700 when I went in to pay. Payed about 2k for my AC to work lmfao. He's a joke and pretends he is "helping u" but then runs your pocket. I asked if i could pay in payments because that wasn't anywhere near the price of 1200 we agreed to and he said no I'll just take out the parts from your car before you leave if you don't pay it all. PLEASE BEWARE!!. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE I decided to stop into SpeeDee for a quick oil change on my wife's 1999 Toyota Landcruier, because it was way overdue. I declined the service technicians permission to perform a 17 point vehicle inspection, because prior experience has taught me that the 17 point inspection only enables them to go over the entire vehicle and point out every possible need for additional services, such as a radiator flush, transmission oil change as well as a rear differential oil change, amongst numerous other possible needs for replacement of parts, which i feel unnecessary and can add up to hundreds of dollars, aside from the $34.99 oil change fee. Nonetheless, the manage, Saini approached me and stated that I had a defective oil drain plug and that I need to have the entire oil pan replaced. I knew that the owner was trying to scam me. I replied to him that I knew my wife's vehicle was not leaking any oil because our cement driveway never showed any sign the engine was leaking oil. I then proceeded to stand my ground and stated that I wanted the original oil drain plug re-inserted back into the oil pan. The owner argued with me and emphasized that I had no other choice but to replace the oil pan. I insisted that if the owner did not comply my request that I would call the police and the better business bureau and file a complaint against SpeeDee, Saini replied that I should call a tow truck and have my vehicle towed to wherever I lived. I became livid and re-emphasized my position, that my vehicle was fine when I drove it into his shop and I would drive it back home in the same condition. I explained that I knew all about vehicles and the only reason I did not change my own oil was due to the fact that I did not have a 3 ton jack, nor tools to do it myself, since I had recently moved here from Chicago and had to leave most of my garage tools and equipment behind for lack of room on the UHAUL moving truck. Realizing I was no fool, Saini, then said he would have to charge me $10.00 for a universal oil plug and walked away. Why couldn't Saini have said that in the beginning instead of trying to shaft me for the price of an oil pan and labor involved to change it, which would have cost near $400-$500 or more. What a scam that place of business is. Please stay away, I cannot bear to think how many innocent, inexperienced, or unsuspecting customers that Saini has ripped off with his scare tactics and BS. I complained to the SpeeDee corporate office and actually received a call from the state of California district manager and I confirmed with him everything that happened. read more

Overpriced and has Now damaged my tire for the second time. I went in for an oil change and came out with a shredded tire---for the SECOND time! I thought the first time I found my shredded tire the day after getting my oil changed I thought it was due to something else. This is the second time I went there and had my oil changed and the second time that I checked my car and have a shredded tire the following day. A few weekends ago, the family was going out of town for the day and went to get our tires rotated at America's Tires before we took off. While doing so, the staff there told us that we were missing a lug nut on one of our tires and sent us down the street to Speedee to have it replaced. My husband waited for the car, which took about an hour, when an employee came in and asked, "Are you here from America's Tires?". My husband replied that he was, the employee said, "Okay, no charge." and handed him his keys. My husband asked for the paperwork, the employee said there wasn't any and sent him on his way. For the next week, we got harassing phone calls (at least one every day, but usually two or three times) from the manager at SpeeDee, who left voicemails telling my husband that he ran out on his ($45) bill and even said that he would have to call the police if he didn't return. When I picked up the phone to talk to this clown, he told me that my husband had "misunderstood" and that the employee would have to eat the $45 out of his paycheck if my husband refused to pay. We went back in later and paid the bill; the girl at the desk gave me a few "$10 off an oil change" coupons, which is a joke, since I'll never take my car there again. Sketchy as hell. We have been taking our truck here for years and its always been fine service. After my "full" $600+ service last week I will NEVER go back again. I was leaving out of town for work for at least two weeks and wanted to make sure everything was taken care of in my vehicle. When I left, I sensed something wasn't right... wasn't driving quite the same but I thought maybe I just had been needing these things done and this was how it was supposed to drive. I drove 3.5 hours to my job site, check engine light now on. Next day, having trouble starting. Left my truck at the place were staying and drove our work vehicle instead. This morning, I got in my truck and it wouldn't start at all. Turns over, won't start. Stuck. 3.5 hours from home. Crawled under the truck, saw point blank they did not replace my transmission fluid filter. Now Im sure that they did not do half of what they said and Im screwed. My truck is now on a tow truck back home, on my dime. Spee Dee lube said manager is gone for two weeks (convenient), I could not bring my truck there, they would not look at it and nothing they could do. Awesome. So Im taking my truck somewhere else, who knows how long until it will get looked at and Im stuck in the mud with a plethora of costs that I didn't sign up for. BEWARE. NOT WORTH IT. read more

I got my oil changed at the Clovis Avenue location today. It was a fairly expensive $73. I needed to get my car smog tested and asked that they do this service as well. After a short time they came into the waiting room and told me my car would not pass without changing a hose. I told them not to do the smog test, took it to Smog Master, and it passed without issue. I asked about the hose and was told there was no issue. The Speedee employees tried a similar scam on my mom about a year ago. I'd highly recommend staying away from this location. Over priced. After failing smog, they charged me $90 for diagnostic test. After they told me I needed a new o2 sensor and Catalytic converter with parts and labor $650!!!Checked on autozone for converter only $150 and found guy to install it for $40. These are typical crooked auto shop. read more

I had been going here for 10 years for my oil changes. On 05/27 I took my vehicle in for a diagnostic as it had a fuel smell when I would start it. I had it towed in. We checked in. Said needed a diagnostic and we can go from there. We were waiting in waiting area for three hours (no problem, it was busy and I had the day off.) the front desk lady had told us the guy who does the diag wanted to go to lunch if we wanted to come back later. We let her know it was fine, we were going stay and wait so we can talk to them in person. It was for some reason a huge ordeal. We were fine with waiting. Sonny walked to our vehicle, popped the hood and came back and said "I don't see a leak, what's the problem." I explained to him that when I start the vehicle it has an overwhelming odor of gasoline and sometimes it shakes a bit. I explained that we had this issue before and we just replaced one of the fuel injectors but we weren't sure if it was another injector or the fuel line. We even gave him the code from a self diagnosis we ran with the OBD2 reader. We were told it still needs to be diagnosed. When we let them know we had no problem staying as long as it took to run the diag so we can be there and be shown what the issue was, we were met with a speech about how he had been in business for 20 years and he wouldn't survive that long if he was just trying to scam people for money. We were advised that they can check it in the morning because sometimes a fuel smell can happen when it's cold. We agreed to keep the vehicle overnight. Got a call at about 9:30am the next morning say they found a leak in the fuel injector if we wanted it replaced. Of course we do, so we said yes. Three hours later get a call that it was complete. Went to go pick up the vehicle and it ran fine for about 30 minutes. When I went to start the vehicle again I noticed the smell of gas was faint, but there again. I figured it must have been some of the fluids burning off the hot engine as we also asked for an oil change. Yesterday I noticed it again, but this time it seems like vehicle is sputtering a little bit. I called SpeeDee today and talked to a Manual. I tried explaining to him what the new issue is and how I felt that nothing was done and we felt that we were just rushed out because they didn't want us there. He began to tell me that they for sure fixed the issue because he remembers working on my "green" (it's brown) Jeep and that a diagnosis wouldn't have told them what the issue was anyways. He said I can come back and they can look at it again, but I already feel like they did nothing the first time, why would they do anything a second time. I asked for a refund on everything except the oil change, because HOPEFULLY they actually changed it, and was told there was no way they can do that, but if I wanted to bring it in, they'll fix it for sure this time. I took two days off of work to get this done and they are unfortunately open during the days/times I work. Will not go here again. A waste of $302 that I'll never get back. Money that I could have just bought the parts with and done it myself. read more

I got new struts and tires. The tire place referred me to this business for an alignment. I was told that I either had the wrong struts or they were sub par, and that I paid too much for them. Then I was told that they couldn't align my car unless I had them install "cam bolts" to the tune of $320 more on top of the alignment cost. I called my mechanic who referred me somewhere else. I watched them do the alignment. There initially were professional making excuses for what it could be, but eventually said it didn't even look like they tried to align the rear end, and were able to dial in the front end. easily. Took my jeep to speedee for a diagnosis and to get a problem solved with my check engine. Told the owner that it seemed to not be just a fuel injector issue and that it needed a diagnosis and thorough check. They couldn't do the diagnosis that day and instead of telling me in a professional way they kept beating around the bush. Then the owner talks to me slightly aggressive about how he has been open 20 years and has never done anyone wrong and all that.The next day they call and say my vehicle is ready. I head to the shop and he says "oh it was just a fuel injector, its fine now" and then sends me on my way after I pay (I shouldn't have paid and should have stayed). Low and behold 1 day later the jeep has the SAME problem and was never fixed like asked. It almost seems like nothing happened and I got charged for nothing. I will NEVER bring my vehicles here again and I'm telling all my friends & family as well as people In general not to go here. I have taken several vehicles to Speedee over the last 10 years. Every time I think I should try a new shop just for the sake of it, I realize just how good and fair Speedee really is. I needed my rotors turned on my Ford Mustang GT. I had a newer shop farther up the street give me a qoute, then thinking it sounded too high, I went to see Speedee. Not only were they less expensive, they also fixed my emergency brake that the other shop said they could not do. I have referred all of my family and friends to Speedee and I will continue to do so. The owner is someone that goes above and beyond, even if the customer will never know, to make sure the job was done right while keeping the bill as low as possible. Have never had a good experience here but this one takes the cake. I go to take a car to get smogged. He says it's 1 hour. Ok. Then I need new hoses, those he has to order, won't be in til tomorrow but he won't charge me to install. Ok. I come back 2 days later and now it's 1 hour to install 2 hoses and 1 hour to smog. And something like $80 for the smog. The smog machine is now down, I've waited 1.5 hours for NOTHING now he charges me labor to install hoses! Left very unhappy.
