I have never rented an RV before and had no idea what to expect. Would it be old and decrepit?…read moreWould it be gross and dirty? Would the AC crap out on us when it was 100 degrees and we were 200 miles away? TLDR: the RV was almost new. It was very clean and everything worked great. Would 100% rent from these guys again and will recommend them to others. A lot of others mention cleaning & deposite. We did what I would personally consider the bare minimum: wiped down kitchen, stove & table surfaces. Emptied garbage. Swept the main living space (and were shoes-outside while at camp). We got our whole deposit back & no cleaning charges. As instructed, we called and made a pick-up appointment. This time is theoretical and you will wait in line anyway (basically like any car dealership) so, if you can, make it as early in the day as possible. But after about a 1 hour wait we were on or way. The Forestriver Sunseeker we were assigned was in nearly new condition. It featured a queen sized bed with regular mattress and a little privacy screen. A very small bathroom. A dinette that could maybe squeeze more than 4. The dinette convers to a bed and there is also another sleeping area over the cab. There is TONS of storage space under the RV and some inside. The freezer is big enough for a bag of ice + a few other things. The fridge is probably 3/4 scale to a smaller full-size fridge. Kitchen area is tiny but functional. I brought my own knife & cutting board and wish I'd brought a non-stick pan. The kitchen includes a 3 burner stove and a microwave sized convection/micro combo. The pop-out gives you a decent amount of additional floor space and there is also a roll-out awning. Yes! The comfort kit we got included a decent set up of pots/pans/cooking utensils and dishes. The grey water tank (more on this in a sec) is not huge so if you plan to use the regular plates/dishes I'd bring a wash basin so you can wash up without using the grey tank. Otherwise, you may want to bring paper. Your RV comes with a full water tank. Note that this is technically potable water but not recommended for drinking. They didn't tell us this but important to be aware of. We were a little caught off guard by how quickly we went through water. We were only able to make our water tank and black/grey tanks last for our 4 night camping excursion (for two adults) by using campground porta-potties and showers and being really conservative with dish-washing, etc. So, this is something to plan around and we weren't aware of. NOT Road Bear's problem but just something to know.

BUTT, couldn't tell us where OR how much it would cost us. USELESS! Second, at least he told us that the oven wasn't working. He told us that if we kept trying it would eventually come on. NOT!!! We gave up after about 20 minutes because we were HUNGRY!!! Next night, same thing. We gave up even trying anymore. So, when we got back home, I complained and asked for a lousy $100 for our trouble. He sends me a picture of a working oven. WHOPPIE! That I'm SURE was a different RV. He just kept arguing with me as If the money was coming out of his pocket. Instead, they should have either FIXED IT or gave us a different RV. ROTTEN, LOUSY, customer service. You have been warned!

The Cruise America in the Everett , Wa location, we rented a 35ft cruiser. We were completely taken…read morein. We rented this so we could take a trip back east with my 90 yr old mother. First, we were never offered a rig for handicapp, once we started down the road, we got as far as Mt before we broke down. Tire blow out, a stop at the Butte, Mt dealership resulted in major repairs. We couldn't get the door opened from inside the trailer, no windshield fluid, changed out wipes, put In fuses, replaced gas cap that was stripped, tacked up wall in bathroom. I asked if I could replace our rig for one that worked from their lot, and I could, but I would need to rerent another rig. Subsequently as we went on our trip, we had 3 blown tires, due to dry rot, replaced air filter in engine-due to bugs, dirt, dust and grime. Last blow resulted in getting stuck on the drivers side of freeway, for 4hrs, at least, with 18 wheelers barreling down rode, leaving us swaying inside the trailer. C.A. refused to call a tow off road, until the person to change tire came and told them we needed to get off the road, that took another 2 hrs. We had to extend our trip due to these and many other issues. The Everett, Wa manager could cate less. All this occured in 2019. I have since been connected by C.A., they will reimburse $275., we paid almost $5000. to rent a rig that was suppose to work and safely carry passengers. I have come to find out, if you read your contract, C.A. is not responsible. We are, because we rented it. Beware, there are good places and not so good places to rent C.A., but, read the fine print, you inspect vehicle on lot, request test drive- for front end alignment issues. Don' t believe everything that's told to you. And you will not get good service out of Everett, Wa.

Corporate office phone were overwhelmed that day but Shannon was always available and helpful. So was the corporate manager when we were able to get through. This was our first experience with renting an RV and so far it has been a somewhat mixed bag. However I appreciated that CruiseAmerica made it right and we are immediately renting a 17' in Vancouver BC so I expect that will be fine.
