1 star is TOO many stars! Went yesterday to get my windows tinted and was turned away bc it was busy and was told to come back today. Showed up in the morning, the guy at the counter took my info and was told it'd be 2 hours. Five minutes later he said it would be 2 additional hours because suddenly there was a car before mine. I said no problem left the car, took a cab to the mall and walked around for 4 hours. When we got back the guy nonchalantly said "the guy just started so its gonna be another two hours" as upset as we were we walked to the back to put bags away only to find out the car was in the same place we'd left it in the morning!!!! Not only did he lie to us time and again, he had no problem telling us the tint dude had been working on a BMW so he didn't have time for ours and for us to come back tomorrow. Absolutely insulting and disrespectful! The only thing this shop has going for it these days is the graphics section. I've been a customer of this place for years, never had a problem driving from Yonkers all the way there but will NOT return ever again. Not to mention I'll pass it along. Very disappointed. I got my oil change here last year (August 2017), and today I am getting my oil change at Valvoline and they informed me that the filter screw cap was screwed on way too tight at the last oil change aka Speed World and thus now it would need to be broken and cost $40 to replace. read more

So back in 2011 I visited this speed world to install bar guards on moms new Toyota Rav4. I was impressed with their work as well as with the pricing that I said I'll keep them in mind for when I get a new car. This year I purchased a Lexus RX350 , and went back, I was glad to say Jay "el chinito" was still working there, he hooked us up in the past and again this year two weeks ago I installed a bull bar, side step bars and back bumper bar all chrome and name brand parts at affordable pricing well it's still a good chunk of change but at a fraction of the cost the dealers ask for. Yesterday I returned to install 4 door edge guards, and replace the stock interior bulbs for white light LED's totally gave it a different look. extremely content with their work. got a few more accessories I'm looking to pick like their weather tech floor and cargo mats. Do not patronize. Worst tint job I have ever seen...and I have had a bunch in my lifetime with cars. The guy cut the tint so it left a gap of uncovered window between tint and window edge. Remarkably unacceptable. read more

I came here for my inspection check because it was the closest to my house and I wasted my time. I ended up going to a different auto shop. The mechanic serving me provided misleading information and claimed both my front wheels were loose. I asked him the cost to fix the problem, he went to the back and returned with a post it with two prices. Extremely unprofessional to bring back a post it and say this is the price, how is that plausible for the customer. One option was $525 and the other option was $375. The parts alone were labeled $150-200 but when I googled the parts and I found them for $40-70. I left the place and went to TRI Auto Shop and they told me everything was fine and provided me with a passing inspection. read more

First i bring a wire harness plug n play for stock head unit to connect front camera and the actual camera to mount in front as well. I watched him install and he began splicing wires and taping other wires. The instructions I'd seen all stated clearly this was plug and play. Absolutely no cuting necessary and it came with the harness to just connect it. So i asked why he was cutting and he said the instructions are generic and dont apply to every install type and he knows what hes doing. Of course the reverse camera began flickering and working sporadically when shifting to reverse. They reopened ot all over again and began to blame the pieces i brought in. I told them ive done tons of research on this item and watched a ton of videos on it. It was supposed to be plug and play. They later admitted he was not supposed to have cut anything and he saw his mistake but would fix it. Needless to say a few days later the front and rear stopped working normally. I came back and again they argued with me. I just decided to leave and toyota dealership ended up replacing my head unit and said they would call the wiring job "very amateur" and that i should get my money back. It gets worse - two days before, i also brought in an OPT7 Reverse Light bar for installation. That next day i went to get new tires and the tire shop couldnt access the spare because these geniuses covered the opening for the spare tire bar to drop the spare !! They had the nerve to try to blame me for not telling them that they shouldn't cover it?!?! Argued for like 20 minutes. So they finally removed the 3m tape that came w the bar originally but it would not re-apply so they said they need to use new 3m tape Velcro... $50 for a 4ft pc of tape - that THEY FCKD UP! i argued with two staff members again for like 20 minutes and finally they say okay "$20 our cost". Right. Well i paid. Just wanted it over with. This place is why automotive professionals get a bad rap. I called for a gauge pod and asked if they had them in stock and what size. The girl on the phone couldn't tell me a size and when asked if there was someone else that could help she said they didn't know either and we would have to come in and look. I made it clear that I didn't want to drive all the way to the store 30 minutes for nothing. Not knowing your own product is pretty bad but fine I took the trip. If I could give less than one star I really would. I came in for a simple battery change which they say is only 10 minutes but they don't even let you go inside. I came back to check on my car and noticed a huge scratch and dent which they were claiming was done before I got there. They went through the cameras before showing me and tried to convince me that it was there before I got in. Don't get your service done by Jose. Been to speedworld many times.... Last time i went to get some yellow tint to do my foglights i was standing at the counter for 10 minutes waiting for the dudes to finish talking about how good their food was... after that as the gentleman proceeds to cut the 1 foot of tint paper for an outrageous 14 dollars... he gives me a section that had stretch marks andlines all over the tint. As i procceed to tell him to cut me another piece in btter condition he tells me "you must not know what you are doing, this is how they all look" Not only did this guy insult my intelligence but he was an asshole about it. Went there to get headers and a cat back for my Camaro. They were quick to ring me up. After 1 day having my car someone called me and asked "why do you want to put headers on your car"? Ummmm because I feel like it. I told him whats the matter, it sounds like you dont want to do the job? I can find someone else to do it if you are not capable. He said it's ok, I'll take care of it. A few days later they told me to vome and get my car. Picked it up and it sounded great. When it came time for inspection I took it to a mechanic and he told me he couldn't pass my car because the car didnt have a catalytic converter. Horrible. Stay away from this horrible place. I got my windows tinted two weeks and my tail lights tinted, and I've had to go back 4 times in these past two weeks because the windows were peeling and so were the tail lights. They blame the issue on you, and the guy asked for my receipt when I came back two days after the original purchase. Whatever spray they used to put the tint on the window, they "accidentally" sprayed it on my cars speaker and inside the car door. They are not professional at all. Customer service is below trash, no respect for the customer, do yourself a favor, pay a little more and go somewhere better. I, personally, can guarantee you will NOT be satisfied. Here for dash cam installation via cigarette lighter plug vs hardwire for a lease vehicle. Vehicle has already a backup camera. Did really great with the rear camera because they turned into a video recorder as well, so basically I have front & back security camera 24 hr a day...wow that's a brilliant work did there. Avoid this place at all cost. The manager named Terry is rude and unprofessional. The whole staff there is rude. The worker named Mario there in Spanish told the lady in the register that I'm a waste of their time and wants to get me out of there, I'm assuming he thought I didn't speak Spanish and all because they messed up on my headlight tint job which within a week was bubbling up and peeling off so of course I went there to let them know of the problem. Marc there told me to come back the next week because they had to reorder the tint since they ran out and to ask for him so I went the following week and that's when I encountered Mario, Mario told me that Marc was on vacation which is strange since he told me to come back anyway Mario told me that the tint guy was on vacation as well lol so to come back the following week which I did and when I got there they tried to tell me to come back yet again the following week which I refused since I've been there three times in within a time frame of 3 weeks. Then the tint guy told me that they won't be able to do it because they would have to remove the protective cover of my headlights which I wasn't told the first time I went even though I mentioned to Terry about the protective cover and that's when Mario said I'm waisting their time and they will refund me the money because they don't want to deal with me anymore. They could've just told me the first time about the removal of the protective lens before starting anything and when I spoke to the manager he said that they will re-do it but if they do they don't want me coming back to get it fixed. Are u serious? i strongly believe all the positive reviews on here are from their workers because trust me the way they talk to the customers there aren't for positive reviews. My experience with these guys was awesome! I dealt with Will for all of the work I had done. Not only were they knowledgeable and friendly, they were also couteous and helpful EVERY time I called with questions or a change to the original plan. Another thing thats great about this place is that you can get everything done there. I did vinyl wrap, which came out amazing, alarm, back up camera, LED lights and installation of HID headlights. They know how to do it all. The prices were the best I could find and they NEVER cut corners. They checked with me every step of the way to make sure I was happy and if I wanted something changed, they did it and were basically just interested in me being happy. Let's start off with the one positive: The place looks good. If the expression "Don't judge a book by its cover" is to be applied anywhere, you better apply it here. The establishment might have a nice look to it, but the management is absolutely VILE, rude, greedy and offensive. I went in to buy a stereo and have them install it for me. I was greeted by someone who looked like either the boss or the manager. Asian guy, black hair, average height, about 40 years old or so. He found out what my car needed, gave me a price and asked for the key. He told me the total for my installation and stereo is $209. I asked him if I can pay before we head to the back to check out my car. He said "don't worry about" and proceeded to walk to the garage to my car. I began to follow and was told to "wait here" as he opened the door and disappeared. Fine. I found that a bit odd, considering the fact that people were going in and out of the garage... Even a pregnant lady was hanging out back there. I waited patiently and he finally returned. He said, "you have an Onstar system in your car, gotta buy the module for that and it's $150." I was puzzled. "An extra 150 on too of the 200?" I asked. He replies, "yes, you want it or should I give you your keys back?". I wanted to see what was going on, so I told him I wanted to see my car. I went to the back and saw that a man had already taken apart my dashboard and began work on my car. I told him Onstar didn't work in my car and I didn't need the $150 module. He told me I can install the stereo without it if I chose to and it would still work either way. Meanwhile, the manager I spoke to originally bolted into the scene with an angry look on his face. "You don't want it then leave! I don't wanna argue!" he shouted. I was shocked. No one was arguing. Both myself and the man working on the car were very calm and respectful. I told him, "as long as my car is put back together the way it was, I will gladly leave". He continued to shout and really made himself look bad in front of everyone in the garage. He began to disrespect and offend me because I didn't fall for his scam! I did my research, he was trying to swindle me. I took a few pictures and a video of my dashboard taken apart. This angered the boss/manager even more. He began swearing at me and insulting my vehicle. I was ready to go. My car was put back together by the nice man who took it apart, I tipped him, took a deep breath and left. Verdict: Terrible experience. What I wrote is EXACTLY how it went down and I really hope no one falls for this man's greedy tactics. The nice workers KNEW their boss was being an a-hole. Their faces said it all. Avoid this place. First off dude was on his phone didn't even look up at me once, second , he didn't even let me finish asking the question before he cut me off to tell me they wont do it today because of the weather. It sucks that I have to give a bad review to this place that I have been going to for years. I have gotten so much work done through them and today was by far the worst experience ever. I went in on my only day off to get my car windows tinted. The girl at the register accepted my car and told me it would be a few hours so I decided to run an errand that would take me a few hours. 45 mins after leaving, I get a call from the same girl that said they couldn't tint my windows because my car was dirty. It had snowed 2 days prior so obviously the car still had some white shadow on it, especially considering that it was a black car. She gave me an explanation saying that because they cut the shape from the outside of the car, it would not be possible since the tints would get dirty. I asked her that since I was already far away if they could simply wipe the window and I'll pay extra or even tip; however, they showed no effort to work with me. She requested I come back and wash my car so that they can work on it. The only good thing is that although they weren't able to work with me, at least they welcomed the idea of holding on to my car in their lot until I get back (least they could do). Upon my return when I asked for some sort of explanation, a short rude guy said "ur car must have been extremely dirty then." My car had been washed 5 days before so this dirtiness was simply because of the recent snow. They have been in business for years and they don't have experience enough to ask somebody that is dropping off their car if their car is clean enough for them to work on it? It was an extreme inconvenience. And to top that off, they gave me my keys to take my car but one of the workers car was parked right in front of it so I couldn't leave. When I asked them to move it, it literally took them 15 minutes for them to move it. The guy I asked had no sense of urgency and on his way to find out who's car it was, he  stopped by another car that was being worked on and started having a conversation with other workers about what they were installing. Horrible experience. I then drove down queens Blvd heading toward LIC and stopped by a guy that was closing his shop already  but told me he has no problem with the dirt on my car since he installs the tints from the inside. He also said he charges 140 instead of 150 that speedworld was charging. And LIFETIME guarantee as well. Speedworld apparently seems to be too big now to care about their customers. I will be installing my tints elsewhere on my next day off. read more

This place extremely overcharges for any kind of work you have done by them, they're not just overpriced they're very rude and don't try to get your work done in a timely fashion, they will have you waiting over three hours for a job that takes less than 45 mins- regardless if it's busy or not. The last time I left my car here I paid over $150 to install an exhaust which I had done again after for $60 at a muffler shop (axel back- no welds) and to top it all off when I got back in my car I found out one of the employees stole a $5 bill that one of my friends tied up for good luck. I went here back in january for an alarm to be installed and couldn't be happier. they did an awesome job. since then i've had coil overs installed, a new stereo system installed, tints redone, and even just some standard maintenance. great place, great people. definitely worth checking out.
