Walked in to browse the vehicle selection only to find myself in the midst of an argument between a middle aged woman and the manager of the dealership (I asked who he was). Not sure what the argument was about but the manager's behavior toward the woman and the things he said to her were completely out of line. It's obvious he has no respect for women so I could never, with a clear conscience, support this business. I turned around and walked out. I had a terrible experience in person at the dealership. I made an appointment on a Friday, Showed up and met the sales person to ask for a test drive of the Sportage plug in hybrid. He left us at the desk and went into a ONE HOUR sales meeting while we waited ....and waited... and waited... until I finally got up to interrupt the sales meeeting (embarassing for me) and finally he said they were driving the model from the lot. I should have known that this terrible inattention to our wait time (there was no other customer in the show room) would foretell how they planned to treat potential customers. In addition to horrible inattention of the sales staff, they continually refused to provide me with a written quote via email or printed on paper so I could see the breakdown line by line for a 3 year lease. After scheduling a 2nd visit, I asked for the quote only to be told I "need to come in" so I can meet with the sales person again. Apparently the sales managers do not allow for quotes to be provided to potential customers. I live 40 mins away so I told them that I'm ready to purchase but I'm not coming in unless I can review the numbers beforehand. They wouldn't budge and just said they "would match" the written quote which I received from a competetive dealer. Needless to say after this exchange, They lost me as a customer and I happily purchased the Sportage Kia Hybrid Suv at a dealership in Kingston, NY. I travelled 2 hours away just to have better customer service and a price quote that was transparent. I'm actually blown away that the sales person on the last day of the month, didn't seem phased that I was going to walk away. They are shady, and unconcernded with price transparancy to the customer.Avoid this dealership at all costs. read more

Liars. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Was told a car was available on the phone. Drove 6 hours, paid a fortune for tolls and hotel. Salesman called me as I was on the way from my hotel saying he would have the car ready for me to drive when I arrived. Once I got there, they said the car wasn't available bc someone had put a deposit on it "yesterday." Yet the paperwork in the car window said sold 6 days prior. Was then told the computer database doesn't update. Ummm...it's 2025 so I find that hard to believe. If it's true then customers should be told that when they call to ask if car is available that they don't know bc inventory database isn't regularly updated. Also, there was a customer shouting "don't buy here" "it's a scam" as we were leaving because apparently the dealership tried to cover some damage to a new car he purchased. This has been the most frustrating attempt I've ever had to give someone my money. April 6: I contacted Northstar Kia via their website about a used Ram ProMaster, noting I was out-of-state and requesting details and media since I couldn't visit. Their reply asked if I'd like to see a "Mitsubishi" today or tomorrow, ignoring my questions and situation. I clarified and reasked. April 7: Daisha Cepeda emailed a Carfax summary but didn't address my questions. I replied, still seeking answers. Throughout, I got automated emails from Daisha, Nairoby Valverde, and Ludys Acosta, adding confusion. I responded each time, asking for updates. I expect Bibi Singh will reply to this review with apologies and his email, but I doubt this dealership can regain my trust. April 15: A text via their CRM finally included photos and video. I asked for pricing. The next day, Pierre Rothwell texted, offering to call. I said anytime; I just wanted numbers. April 19: I checked if the text number was active. April 22: I emailed for an update. Ludys called, saying the price with no trade/no financing was the Retail Price ($44,000) plus taxes, DMV, and a $175 doc fee--nothing else. I confirmed that with $3,000 in taxes/DMV, the out-the-door (OTD) price would be $47,175. She agreed, noting a sales manager would calculate exact taxes. April 23: An email said Pierre would reach out soon. He called that evening, saying the internet price included a $1,000 financing discount and a $2,500 trade-in discount. I said I could be there on the 26th if the numbers worked. He promised OTD numbers after consulting his sales manager. April 24: A text told me to contact Pierre's cell. I asked for an ETA on OTD numbers. He said his sales manager would provide them the next day. April 26: Pierre texted that the sales manager was working on it and would contact me soon. Later, I asked again. He replied: "The numbers are in: $54,500 OTD." April 28: I thanked Pierre but questioned the $54,500 OTD price, reminding him of Ludys' quote: vehicle price plus taxes, DMV, and $175 doc fee. I requested a breakdown. He said the van was priced at $47,995 (not $44,000 as before). I noted $54,500 minus $47,995 left $6,505 in taxes/fees and asked for clarification. April 29: I texted for an update. Pierre replied, "Taxes, tags, fees," and called. I asked for specifics, but he couldn't provide them, mentioning a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) and saying details would be on the buyer sheet when I was ready to buy. I insisted I needed numbers first. Later, I calculated taxes and fees for a $47,995 price at $3,257.95, leaving $3,247.05 unexplained. I asked what these "fees" were; Pierre said he'd inform his manager. May 6: I texted asking when the manager would respond. No reply. I never got to negotiate the price. Want to start by saying that the car I bought is very nice and so far no issues, also the sales team went above and beyond by dropping my car. However. The DMV team and subsequently the finance team is pretty bad, mainly the DMV and I'll explain. I got my car on June 4th with a temporary NY plate, the plate expiration was for July 4th, I got a call from Kia telling me that finally my plate arrived on July 24th (very late but ok) I couldn't answer the call and tried reaching them next day 25th as the pictures attached shows but no one answered, I showed myself to the dealer on the 26th but no one knew were the plates where and was told to come back next day while they front desk search for them, I called several times to the number on listed on Google maps on the 27th cause I didn't want to do the drive with expired plates but no one answered till someone from MITSUBISHI NORTH STAR answered and tried to help reaching someone on KIA but was unable and apologized to me several times but recommended I'll do the drive wich I did, 2nd time there and no one could find my plates and no one at DMV was answering, I told the manager that my plate was expired and was told that KIA would cover any tickets given to me due to the expired plates and he took my number. By the way the reason I was calling the number showed on Google maps is because every time I tried calling the office of DMV it would send me directly to voicemail, even the lady from Mitsubishi that tried to help found that weird but no one could reach that office, I was so frustrated that I called their maintenance office cause I was unable to reach anyone on July 25th. 4 days later on July 30th afternoon I get a message from manager Victor telling me they finally got the plates and if I want to pick them up or deliver (no time frame on how fast they will arrive was given) I said I will go next day the 31th to pick it up, sadly due to traffic and I had to work that day as well I have to move the pick up to Saturday the 3rd of August cause I would be outside of the city for a couple of days to wich the manager agreed. On Friday the 2nd of August early morning police tow the car due to the car having an expired plate and being registered to North Star Kia, when I found out in the morning I called Kia and told them I would send an Uber to pick up the plates cause without them I couldn't retrieve the car. I was able to get the car back on the 3rd. After having my plates expired for almost a month, countless calls to North Star Kia that went unanswered and driving twice there were no one knew what was going on or who to call they refuse to cover the tow cost and the ticket (mind you I paid the Uber and I'm not asking for the refund of it) and claims that I bear the responsibility to cover those expenses cause I didn't pick up the plates on July 31th, 26 days after my temporary plate expired. I guess I should have done their job answering my own phone calls and finding my plates on their offices when I was there. read more

BEWARE! Leased a 2023 Kia Sorento in the Summer of 2023 from this dealer and it was great until Spring of 2024 when the car would randomly lose power on the highway and we could not accelerate. The only way out of this horrifying situation was to pull over to the shoulder and restart the car. We took the car in and the mechanics could not find a problem. The problem continued to happen every 400 hundred miles. We brought the car in 3 times with video evidence. The mechanics finally agreed to drive the car until they found the problem. After a month and driving the car 70 miles, they called to say the car drives like a dream and there's no problem and to come pick the car up. The fact that they would allow this car in the road is unconscionable. They have been of zero assistance working with Kia customer care and I wouldn't be surprised if once we do get out of our lease, if they try to sell or lease the car again. It is a death trap. It's outrageous that after the 2022 recall for a similar problem, these cars are still on the road. STAY AWAY. read more

If there is a chance that can let me give one star. I'm definitely gonna do it. I got my sportage 2weeks ago,but when I see my car I'm still not happy. When I first get in there, one of the guys took me. He was ok. We looked around and I decided to get the sportage. When I ask about the price that they can give it to me, the manager brought me the price paper he printed for me. The sportage was 35000, and I told them I'm going to pay 5000 down payment and take 72 Mon. to finance the car. And manager give me the price was "$722" dollars per month. 722*72+5000=56984. It means I gotta pay 57000 for a 35000 car. I didn't say anything cause I know they want to make money but it is too far away from mine. I'm like ok, I got it. Can I take a picture for this price paper? The manager said "no", that is secret I can do it. I've been to Benz Audi BMW Porsche Toyota Honda lots of dealers they never say you can't take the paper out ，still less to take a picture of it. I was so mad and left. After two weeks I went there again. I said I'm going to cash out the car without the financing, and they told me if that way I need to pay extra "$2000" to get the car cause they said they couldn't make anything if I don't do financing. That is ridiculous. I didn't say anything and told them okay I'm gonna pay that. And the second day, I bought the bank check with $42000 which they told me to bring it. And we started doing it. I fill out all the paperwork and just sit there and wait. I spent my whole day there and finally the guy came and told me the address I need to change it. Ok I called my insurance company and changed it. And after another half hour he came and told me I need to change something again. "Five times "he kept letting me change this and that. And I kept calling my insurance 5 times and they mad at me already. And the most ridiculous thing is the last time he said I put the wrong vin number in the form it's my fault. But the truth is he wrote the wrong vin numbers to me before and lucky I took the picture for that. I took out the picture and told him look at this it's your fault not mine ok? And with that picture he's like I'm sorry about it and I called my insurance again. My insurance lady told me they got off work already. I need to do it tomorrow for this. And guy told me I have to come back tomorrow to get the car. I was like what a terrible service!! What a horrible dealership. I went to the counter and told the manager, plz give all my money back to me, I am not going to take this car anymore. I spent lots of time with you guys i am not gonna spend any more time for this no more. The manager apologized for that and promised to send the car to me second day I'm like no. You don't need to say anything I just don't want it anymore. He said sorry for everything. I suppose to return my Q7 which is my leased car but it is way too late. And the manager promised me they were definitely gonna drop off the car for me at 10 o'clock in the morning and take my Q7 to return that for me. I was so mad but ok i gave them last chance. And the second day, my wife spent whole day and couldn't do anything but stay home waiting for them, and they dropped off the car at 6:00 afternoon. And they told me cause I couldn't find my registration for my Q7 that's why they can't take the car for me to return it. I told them hundred times I can't find my registration but the manager told me don't worry about it , they definitely gonna take care of everything but now they told they can't do it. How professional you are!! I drove all the way down to Audi after few days and they didn't ask me nothing even drive license. I've been driving 15 years. Spoke to a representative on the phone, received the final price for the vehicle and we proceeded. Tried to purchase online, they apparently have a policy that says no orders can be solely online, so I made an appointment and they set it for 10 AM Sunday. So I drove 2 hours all the way to New York just for the price to skyrocket $3,500. The representative on the phone stated our appointment was at 11 AM, we got there on time and no one was there. Our appointment was even confirmed by Nairoby the manager twice, we ended up waiting until 12 PM and the service was awful. The car wasn't clean and smelt like cigarettes. Wouldn't recommend this god awful place to anyone, save your money and take your business elsewhere. read more
