Absolutely terrible service. We were recommended by our local city magazine. We had Joe come to our house, he blew a fuse, and completely broke the computer in my refrigerator. We tried to get him to come back because out fridge was worse, and he never returned, completely ghosted us. We called the company, again no response, no answers. When I asked for an explanation of his diagnosis, he smiled and indicated he was too smart to have to explain how he determined the problem. I felt uncomfortable in my own home. Dec 2025 - Stay away. Not trust worthy. I have a GE Café double wall oven. I was getting the F96 red flashing code and the ovens shut down for safety reasons. I learned via google that F96 means it needs a new fan. They sent a guy out, he did a visual inspection, never plugged in a PC for a true diagnostic. He told me the oven needed a new circuit board, said the parts would be $890 and the labor $795. Then called for a second opinion. This guy came, plugged in a laptop to the oven, the laptop told him it needed a new fan just as the F96 code suggested. Circuit board was fine. Parts cost $76 + labor which he estimated between $200 and $300. dollars. Dont use these people. read more

I called the number in the google search listed for Sub Zero Wolf Repair Service with a Manhattan location and telephone number, so that is the best way to find them. They operate as Speedy Appliance Service. I was extremely impressed with Harry Barnable who handled the scheduling and providing of a Certificate of Insurance required by our building. He turned all this around overnight so we could have service on our Sub Zero the next morning. Shaquille, the technician was not only and excellent mechanic and careful, neat workman, but also extremely honest. He could easily have said we needed a new compressor for the freezer, a very expensive item, but diagnosed the problem as a failing fan at a fraction of the cost. He did an overall service, replaced the fan and checked that everything was working. An excellent experience overall. I would highly recommend this company for their level of service and integrity. Replaced compressor to Sub Zero refrigerator. Charged $1,466 stating that the pricing was based upon the cost of the part. Service took one hour. Performed a search and learned that the part was available from numerous sources for $215. In telephone call with owner he admitted that the part could be bought for $215 ( likely less wholesale to company ) and refused request for price adjustment. Will Pursue claims for gross overcharge and misrepresentation. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but not satisfied with the long term quality of the repair. I had used Speedy Appliance repair to fix a washing machine and was assured by the tech that the draining of the water would be immediately fixed. Well just a few short months and the issue has resumed. Will see if this review can be updated. They are not cheap by far and a new machine would have probably been the cheaper route at this point. It takes two days to get a repair tech so no clean laundry until then. read more

Recently our 35 year old sub zero completely died. We called Speedy Appliance because they are specialists in sub zero refrigerators. When Matt showed up he diagnosed the situation. He said both of our compressors (refrigerator and freezer) and the cooling coils in the refrigerator were "done". He said he could replace them or we could just go get a new sub zero for twice as much. We decided to go the route of replacing all of the "guts" of our sub zero with new parts. Matt then went to work... After replacing the refrigerator and freezer compressors and the refrigerator coils the refrigerator was back up and running, but the freezer was still not working. Matt kept checking up on the status of the freezer and made another trip to our house. After doing his diagnostics he noticed the coils in the freezer were "shot" as well. He then ordered and came back to replace those coils. Everything seemed to be working, and Matt kept checking in. After a few more days the freezer stopped working. I reached out to Matt and he came back again to diagnose the situation. This time he saw that the freezer compressor was defective. He then proceeded to order a new compressor. A few days later he came back to replace the compressor. Now the subzero seems to be working nicely again! I have to say it has been an absolute pleasure dealing with Matt. He is a true professional and expert in what he does. He always stayed even keel and always explained everything that was going on clearly. I can't say enough good things about Matt and his customer service and technical expertise. I am sure this could have gone bad as well, but Matt and Speedy Appliance definitely provide respectful and excellent service and I would highly recommend them to anyone! I used this company to fix a freezer waterline leak. they came and told me I need a plumber. The plumber reported that this is an appliance repair issue and they should fix it and didn't even charge for their time. I called this company back as to get this resolved and have not heard back. This is such bad business, do not recommend at all, if you can wait for anyobe else do it! Wasted of time and money. read more

Technician #1 advised my fridge thermostat needed to be replaced, which I approved for cost of $300 and which Tech #1 told me had a one year warranty. After installation, fridge ran nearly 24 hrs a day, which it never did before. Tech #1 advised fridge needed Freon which he put in. My fridge then started making wheezing noises and frost formed on the panel at the back of fridge and leaked on the floor when it melted. Tech #1 returned and said he overcharged the Freon supply and purged the line. He also checked the thermostat and advised "oops" that he installed the "wrong thermostat" and would have to order the "correct one"! Tech #1 was supposed to come and never showed up. I waited the entire day for my "appointment." When I called the office, I was told he couldn't come today. No one even called to advise me about this; I wasted an entire day sitting home waiting for him. "Correct" thermostat ordered and installed 1 1/2 weeks later by Tech #1. Fridge operated for about three months and then started running for long periods of time, sometimes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This all happened during the very cold winter months with very cold temps, and not during the hot summer, so it couldn't be blamed on hot weather conditions. Tech #2 came and advised it needed a nitrogen charge. After doing that, the fridge made very loud noises, which I have never heard before. For the next 2 1/2 days it ran for long periods until it "recycled" the thermostat. It ran satisfactorily for perhaps 2 1/2 weeks, but is still making noises which never existed before the nitrogen charge. Then, during the very cool temps we had in mid-May, it started running for extremely long periods up to two hours. I called Speedy and was told Tech #2 would call me the next morning, which he did. He told me they "invested" more than enough time and effort in repairing my fridge, and it amounted to more than the $300 I paid them. He said they would no longer assist me and when I pointed out I was told the repair charge was guaranteed for one year by Tech #1, he had no answer for me. I was unceremoniously dumped as a customer, even though the first Tech installed the wrong thermostat which probably caused all these new additional problems. He did say they would render service if I paid the home service call fee of $125, plus any needed parts! Needless to say, these guys caused more problems to my fridge than I previously had. Maybe the correct thermostat was never installed after all - twice - and that's what caused all the new issues I never had before! Totally unprofessional with extremely poor customer service. Don't waste your money here. Avoid at all cost. read more

Avoid this company at all cost! This business is a nightmare!!!! Don't ever use their service - you will get the opposite. The repairman, whose name is 'Guy' came and checked the fridge. In less than a minute, he had a diagnosis. The compressor needs to be replaced and he charges $1,200.00 for it. In the interest of time, I told him to go ahead and fixed and I paid the fees. After a few days, we noticed that the fridge wasn't automatically defrosting. I called him and he came the next day. He was now saying that the compressor was not communicating with the unit, that he ordered the part already and that he's coming back after 2 days. Came that day, a Friday, he said he has a family emergency and could not come. I was getting desperate and was telling him that the fridge completely broke down and is no longer cooling at all. He promised to return Sunday. Came Sunday, he was singing a different tune and told me he had a crazy day and will come the next day instead. He now again sent a text message saying that the part he ordered is not in and that I had to wait until the next day. Meanwhile, our stuff in the fridge are rotting! Just a horrible experience. I invited the technician to fix a leaking LG refrigerator. At the first appointment the technician just did not show up. The second appointment he arrived. Then, he opened the back panel touched few parts and put everything back. He told us that everything is just fine and we just need to unplug the fridge for 24 hours and everything will be back to normal. An hour after he left, the refrigerator started to show an error code that was never displayed before. We search the internet for the code, and we found that the fan in the back panel is not free to rotate. We called the dispatch and asked them to schedule the technician to come back and fix his work. They refused to do this for free, and asked to pay in advance $125. My son opened the back panel, moves the hoses back to their location and everything was fixed. We will NEVER recommend this service. You are in bad hands if you contact them!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER WARNING YOU This service guy Jay showed up here today and after looking at the Sub Zero freezer within minutes he diagnosed it as the motor gone bad and quoted me a of $650 plus tax.I insisted with him if the parts were original SubZero to which he confirmed after nearly half an hour he finished and left.I had noticed the box out of which the motor he had taken out and I googled it and found that it was not original part but a knockoff and it costs $38.12 only,I promptly called there office and spoke to a Jimmy,he said that he will call the guy tomorrow,it was only 3pm when I called.I then googled them and found all the negative comments and reviews on them and some of them mentioned the same scenario that I experienced today.I am going to report them to the better business and to my Credit cards and SUB ZERO.THESE GUYS ARE A RIP OFF read more

We called for repair of our 2 year old LG refrigerator. Freezer needed repair. All food defrosted and lost. Repairman scheduled to come next day, called and asked me to identify refrigerant information on inside of refrigerator. He then told me it was the compressor and was covered by LG at no cost to us and suggested I call them. He was right and saved us much money without coming and charging us a service call. I rarely write bad feedback but this is the worst experience I've had with a technician in a long time. I paid the company $135 to sent a technician who claimed to have diagnosed the issue. I contacted the manufacturer to order the part and fix the problem but it was not fixed. I called the company but they would not speak further, would not come take a look, and would not reimburse me for incorrectly diagnosing the issue. This is where it gets better. The owner then called me, yelling at me and berating me, for accusing his company of wrongdoing and claimed I was calling his company repeatedly and harassing his workers. I told him he is mistaken and he should check his call logs because I called the company one time and that was it. He proceeded to tell me I'm wrong and they won't be helping me further. Needless to say I will never use this company again and would recommend you avoid at all costs. read more

Speedy appliance is the worse service to call. I'm not sure if they take advantage of all their customers, or me because I am a women. I had them come look at my GE monogram stovetop. The guy Ken (who I'm being told is also the owner of the company) told me the gas lines were corroded and it would cost almost 2,000 to repair. He also told me it was worth repairing because my stove is built into my counters and in order to buy a new stove, I would have to redo my counter top. I didn't get a good feeling so I called GE themselves to come take a look at the stove. Long story short is they charged me 260 to fix my stove. The real issue is that the pilot needed to be filed (yes just filed) and there was some food stuck a little deeper down that he pulled out with some long skinny tool. Also, my stove pulls right out and is not built into my kitchen as ken described . Ken has refused to give me back my 125 fee for dropping by. Also weird is that Speedy appliance didn't want to give me their ridiculous quote in writing. read more

Worst experience ever. A service man came without wearing a mask and touched all over the kitchen and living room area. After he fixed my refrigerator, he sat down on my dining chair without asking and rested for a while until his next appointment. That was a few weeks ago. We had to call the place again because the refrigerator wasn't properly fixed and water was still dripping from the top. Another service man was supposed to be here yesterday and I stayed home. He didn't show up and no phone calls. We called the store to have another appointment set up for today. The store manager confirmed a service man will be here today and gave me 3 hours window from 10am to 1pm. I explained that I have to leave home before 3:30 and make sure the guy is here within the 3 hours frame. No one showed up I called the store again and was transferred over and over to random rude people. Finally, when I could spoke with the manage, she said she has to order the part to fix it. What??? We scheduled this follow-up fix a while ago and now after missing two appointments, they need the part?? I stayed home for 2 days for no reason and my refrigerator still has been leaking. I am over 50 years old and had many repairs, but never seen any services that are this unprofessional and rude. read more

This business is a scam. They came to repair my Bosch wall oven, took off the doors and after a month said it could not be repaired. Instead they wanted to charge 14000 for a new oven with Installation . Oven was never repaired so I purchased a new oven and it cost a fraction of what they wanted to charge. read more

Corrupt and/or incompetent. Neither option bodes well for an appliance repair company. The only thing the did in a "speedy" manner was to incorrectly diagnose the issue with our fridge and take hundreds of dollars for the honor. They replaced the main control board TWICE, the relay TWICE, and then told us after all of that and 3wks of waiting, that it must be the compressor. Then they told us that replacing the compressor would come to @$1400.00 with labor and parts costs. Finally told them to KMA, called a Sears service center and the repair was done at no cost because THE COMPRESSORS IN THESE MODELS ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY due to a known issue. Apparently this is common knowledge in the appliance industry. So either these guys are crooked or their so incompetent as to be detrimental. Do yourselves a favor. Look elsewhere for your repairs. I originally called a Sears repair company but got put off by the 3wk waiting period. But it wound up taking just as long. But due to my own impatience, we got jammed up. Hopefully, future customers will do their own due diligence and research this company. How they have a license is beyond me. read more

The lid was locked on our Whirlpool cabrio. He didn't even release the lid. Just quoted $400 to fix it and part wouldn't be in for a week! Who would pay $400 to fix an 8 yr old machine! I received services from Ken from Speedy Appliance Service on December 1, 2021. I have a dual Thermador oven where the bottom door was locked after self-cleaning and the control panel shut off. After my extensive research online this seems to be a very common issue after self-cleaning that is fixed by opening the panel of the actual oven and clicking the reset button. I didn't know this until after the appointment with Ken.... Ken came on time, spent about 15 minutes at my house. This is what was done: 1. I described the issue 2. We turned the circuit breaker off at the main panel in the garage and turned it back on right away. This didn't do anything 3. He looked at my oven w/his cell phone flashlight and another device that determined that the unit has electric power. Nothing else was done, the panel was not removed to take a look at the wiring, etc. After this, Ken told me that both ovens are completely fried. He promised that he'd call the supplier and determine the cost of the parts and repair. He called me back that night stating that we'd need to upgrade both oven's panels for approximately $4,000!!! I could not believe this cost and asked for an itemized quote so that I can review the cost of labor versus supplies. He said this is not something he'd be able to provide. Have you ever heard of someone not being able to provide an itemized quote? And would you trust them? Absolutely not. After our call, I went to my garage and decided to turn off the circuit breaker once more, but this time I left it off for about 15-20 mins. When I turned it back on, the oven panel was on and I was able to use the top oven perfectly fine, but the bottom was still locked. I couldn't believe this. Why did I just pay $150 to Ken? For him to do absolutely nothing, except misdiagnose the issue and try to make money off me? I was very upset and contacted Speedy Appliance to get a refund or someone else to come in free of charge to fix the issue I called about in the first place (i.e. to unlock to bottom door). Instead, Ken called me back, we had an unpleasant conversation where I stated that he diagnosed the issue and took my money without fixing anything, he told me I was rude and he was doing me a favor. He also told me that he'd refund me $75, told me not to ever call him back and hung up. This is the type of appalling appointment I experienced today. If I could give it zero or negative stars I would. Stay away from this company! read more

Sad to have had this experience with this company because I have used this company several times in the past to repair my fridge. They did a great job each time. This time, I called them to repair an Electrolux dishwasher. They performed a diagnosis and determined that it was the main board. They ordered the part and returned about a week later to install it. They did the installation, the new board did not resolve the problem. The problem was the same as before the board replacement. I called them back to let them know. The person I talked to was Ken or Kevin (Jamaican accent) was horribly rude and wasn't even listening to what I had to say. He told me that he would refund the costs for the repair but not the service charge. I was horrified by the way that I was treated by this person. I am really sad because I have had great experiences with the refrigerator department before. read more

To be fair, Speedy did right was show up for the scheduled time on the first appointment. So far the repairs (to a Sub-Zero refrigerator and separate freezer) are holding up, but their service charges are highway robbery. The freezer repair was a control board replacement. The part from Subzero is $360.00 which Speedy charged $500.00 for and the installation which took 15 minutes was $1,132.75. RIPOFF!!! read more

I made an appt to readjust a hinge on the oven door of my stove and was told a serviceman would be here between 12-3. I waited, no one came. I called at 3, 4, and 5--and was told I would be called right back. Never happened. They killed my day waiting for them and they never came. Speedy? Not so much. I had the complete opposite experience of all the reviewers on here, and I met both Anthony and ryan. Both were professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable. They came within 24 hours, twice. I gave them a cash deposit to order a repair part and then changed my mind the next day bc i wanted a second opinion. they immediately refunded me, no questions asked. They also came back for a second time to re-inspect my fridge when I was skeptical of what was causing a smell. I found them to be honest, patient, and friendly. I felt like ryan really cared about our issue and invested his own time to determine the cause of the problem. Horrible Experience: I called to have them repair my stove, the initial appointment was fine but the repair tech didn't have the parts in hand, had to order them. He tole me it should take two days for the parts to arrive. 13 days later, with no reply or communication from Speedy Appliance Service, I called them to inquire about the parts. I was told I'll receive a phone call in 5 minutes, over two hours goes by and I receive a call to inform me the parts have not yet come in. The following afternoon I call back, same story, 5 minutes to a reply call. a couple hours later I receive a phone call to inform me the parts arrives that morning and that a service tech can be scheduled to complete the repair the following morning between 9am - 1pm, I scheduled it. The following day around 11am or so I receive a phone call from the service tech informing me that the shop had put the parts for my repair onto the wrong truck, and that truck was quite a distance away from my home. He offered to pick up the parts and return to my home that evening to repair my stove, but I wasn't available at that time so we rescheduled for two days later between 10am and 2pm. It is now over 2 weeks since the initial visit and we have no working oven. The service tech was a no show on rescheduled appointment, I informed him that he missed the appointment. I am now shopping a new company, a reliable company to repair my Viking stove, I have no faith in Speedy Appliance Service, far too incompetent. They took a deposit that I'm trying to get back, they wasted my time. I do not recommend Speedy Appliance Service. read more

This was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. INITIALLY THE SERVICE GUY APPROACHED MY HOME, AND AS HE DID, I ASKED HIM TO EITHER PLACE "BOOTIES" ON HIS BOOTS THAT I HAD IN MY HAD, OR REMOVE HIS SHOES. HE PROCEEDED TO COMPLAIN TO ME WITH THE FOLLOWING WORDS: "SO YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME TAKE OFF MY SHOES OR WEAR THESE?" My initial response was to throw him OFF of my property, however he reluctantly placed the "BOOTIES" on his boots. By the way, with COVID as prevalent as it is, WHY a service professional would enter someone's home without his or her feet covered is beyond my comprehension. The guy then proceeded to rudely say to me "did they tell you that before I can even look at this, there is a $95.00 CASH deposit? I said to him that my wife made the appointment, however I have no problem paying the $95.00, which I proceeded to give him. He then opens the top of my washer to tell me that the washer needs a part that would cost me $500+, including labor.....I suggested that was a bit steep, and decided that I did not want to proceed; not because we did not want to fix the washer, but because this guys attitude was awful! When I asked him to leave everything "as is" and just provide me with a receipt, he said that he could not do that, because I could say that he 9the repair guy) left the machine that way. This was an awful experience....how could Speedy send someone out to consumers that represented their brand in such a terrible way? If this guy is indicative of their service people, then I would not use their company at all. there are too many other companies that have service people that will not complain and have a bad attitude; for placing BOOTIES to keep my home safe. read more
