    AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! This place is affiliated with fine line auto body and their service is terrible. Very deceptive business practices.

The car was an upgrade from what I was expecting and clean, other than sort of smelling like cigarette smoke. Heather was very pleasant and got me through the paperwork quickly. Luckily another minivan had just come in. The vehicle we were given looked like it had just been returned from a family vacation, the middle seats were stowed away and there were crumbs EVERYWHERE. We didn't make a fuss, just swept off the crumbs, placed a cover on the back row for the dog, and we were on our way. Fast forward to our vehicle return 5 days later & we were told to either take the car to Moo-Moo for full vacuuming or pay $450 for cleaning the "pet hair". Goldendoodles don't shed. AND the only surface the dog was on was covered. So we either had to do the job they didn't do before renting us the vehicle OR pay $450. It's extortion and we will never rent from this company again.

    I do not recommend using this business…read more I'm giving it a second star just because the truck we got performed its task of running and transporting our stuff when moving. But this seems like a poorly run business. First of all, know that making a reservation doesn't actually guarantee that a vehicle will be available for you at that time. We made a reservation for a specific time in the morning and made our moving-day plans based on that time, but there were no trucks available and we had to come back later to get one. When we returned, several other customers were stuck in the same position -- they had made reservations, but there weren't vehicles for them at the right time. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems reasonable to expect that reservations not be completely useless. On Saturdays, this location closes at 2, which means you have to pay a $10 late fee if you want to return it after 2 on the same day. Good luck returning it by 2 when you can't get a truck until 12:45! An employee told me we could return it first thing in the morning the next day without paying a late fee or two-day charges, but after the reservation nonsense, I didn't trust them not to charge me for an extra day. Here's another thing that happened to me, though it may not actually be typical: I drove this truck about 12 miles, and I took it to a UDF a half-mile down the street to refill the tank before returning it to Budget. I wound up being charged $39 for not refilling the tank (what?) and I couldn't make a good-enough case for a credit card dispute because I had thrown away the receipt for my UDF fill-up. With the $30 "protection" in case of an accident (which was maybe a ripoff, I don't know), the two hours of truck rental cost me about $140. It wouldn't have been that much more to hire movers!

I was under the impression that Budget would provide a fee upgrade should they not have my reserved car in, but apparently not. I chose to wait for the hour, which quickly turned into three. When I finally got my car I called into Budget's national customer service, who agreed that this was unacceptable but did nothing to remedy the situation.

    It appears that $168 Million wasn't enough & Hertz wants to pay out even more money (see NPR…read morearticle link below). I was accused of being in a stolen Hertz vehicle during my rental period; but, I recall Hertz being able to figure out their error over the phone & not requiring me to bring the vehicle back early, etc., so I choose to leave no review vs a poor review & frankly 1 of the employees was so blatantly nasty & unprofessional that it rose to comedic heights. I happened to have a very humorous friend with me the day I returned the never-stolen while in my care vehicle & when he finished talking about them (after we left), I laughed so hard that I felt a tad sorry for their professional limitations....until today. Today, I went to rent a vehicle (from an entirely different location, selected by the body shop) & I was told they can't rent to me because I am on a list of prohibited renters "suspended privileges list" due to my last rental "being stolen" & me giving them difficulty in filing a police report. I do think that the ladies present at this location were fully capable of continuing to give me the awesome service they were providing; until the system flag was discovered. At that point, it was out of their hands, but, I did expect that the area Manager (Roy Snowden) would be empowered to solve his employee &/or "system" generated problem,, instead, I was told on a Friday to contact "the only person that can help" on Monday. The level of professional & personal inconvenience, humiliation, embarrassment, trauma, & yet unrealized toll this has caused me, my family, & even friends at this point necessitates that I contact the representing attorneys in the 2022 settlement & others for good measure ASAP. My experience with Hertz has been the definition of unprofessional & bush league through and through (except for the two professional, yet, powerless to help employees I encountered at the Canal Winchester location today). They were both truly outstanding people & employees from my short, but, pleasant interaction with both of them. I was of course frustrated today, but, not really with either of them. The area manager on the other hand needs to have more tools in his tool belt to solve issues. Instead of being compassionate or sounding like he was even attempting to empathize with my pressing situation; he chose to scold me for apparently calling the past employee who put me in the system causing these issues, stupid & his opinion of my choice of words about the situation, Next year I will be 50 years old. When I understand that a man is unstable enough to attempt to correct my language & sounds as if he is personally offended & tells me what not to say; I know I'm not dealing with the standard of corporate professional that I've assumed by the title. Once I realized that he was taking my words personally & out of context; I lost hope in his professional acumen as well. Rant: The initial accusation occurred as I was renting via an insurance company by the way, which makes the entire car theft that much more insane in my mind eg. Similar to a corporate rental situation; it's just like wtf are you guys talking about at all whatsoever someone ain't too clever. How does one have the car stolen & then bring it back on schedule themselves & how can they "have difficulty" with me filing a police report on a vehicle that was never stolen & just so many questions for a competent attorney to delve into & change from my run on sentence & rant into that nice fancy writing of theirs. The staff here has always gone out of their way to make sure we have what we need. I even requested a car with Texas plates one time, as I was driving to an event in Texas. I was sort of joking, but said if any came up during my rental period, I'd sure like to have one. They delivered! A Texas plate on the car. Well done. The last time I picked up a car, the previous renter had left the gas tank almost empty. They asked if I wanted them to fill it up or if I'd rather be able to return the vehicle with that low fuel amount upon my dropping the car off. After discussions amongst themselves, they decided the fill the tank for me, and profusely apologized for my wait time, which was only a few minutes. This location has always gone above and beyond for my family and me. We are now loyalty club members, and frequent renters. Keep up the good work! If Seinfeld had gone here, they would have known how to take and how to hold the reservation.

I was told that they had to have the card with the chip, and that they did not take cards over the phone. The vehicle that I had reserved was not the vehicle they were going to give me. I then canceled the reservation after being there for over an hour and a half to try to resolve the issue. I will not be going to them anytime soon. This was in Warren, Ohio.
