Great food and friendly service combined with modest pricing makes Speedy Joe's a winner. The building isn't anything to write home about but that really does add to the ambience. One of the few locally owned restaurants left. Try the white wine margarita for a treat. Beer and wine only. No distilled. Not a problem. Chips and salsa are fabulous to boot. read more

Just ate here for the first time. I tried my staple, bean and rice burriito wet style. I must say, I think I have found the rival to my favorite of over 20 years from Miguel's Jr in Corona. I even got a side of chips and salsa. The burrito is even better with the left over salsa on top. I'll definetely be back!! read more

The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because of the old, run-down building that hosts this fantastic food! If the rating was for the food alone, I would give it 5 stars. Speedy Joe's was not so speedy the night we went there. Over 45 minutes to get our food. I think this place is more of a take out joint. People were coming in to pick up orders and there was only three people we saw working. The food was good, but having to wait 45 minutes to get a cheese enchilada and a taco is outrageous. When we finally got the check, we had to go to the register, apparently, they do not come back to you. Sadly this will not be our go to place..so the search continues. read more

This place left a lot to be desired. It felt a bit dirty inside. I got tacos, burritos, and a quesadilla; I can't tell you how much this place that leaves to be desired, especially for the money. The flavor was bland, the staff member I dealt with had an attitude like he was doing me a huge favor by answering a couple of questions I had trying to decide what to get. I would not return, instead I would go over to Guadalajara Taco where you get fresh, delicious food for very reasonable prices. read more

I love Speedy Joe's. I love that they are true to the little family "hole in the wall" charm without being apologetic about it. It is businesses like these that are getting lost in this "instant gratification" faster is better world. It is because I love them so much that my family and I make the 40 minute drive to Palmdale to see my parents maybe more than we would, because I can put up with anyone for a day, but it is so much better to put up with them when I can do it with some amazing salsa and warm tortilla chips, my fav chile verde, rice and beans and homemade flour tortillas in front of me. I usually order ahead while driving on the 14 N, I call in our order when we pass the the Pearblossom Exit and by the time we get off the freeway at Rancho Vista and get to Speedy Joe's, my order is ready, sometimes not, but that's okay because the bald guy, Rudy will entertain me with his quick wit, smile and spicy sense of humor. He keeps me on my toes. Yesterday my daughter and I ate at the restaurant and it was BUSY. Even with a small staff, 2 and the cook, Our food still came out in a timely manner and was delicious. Our warm tortilla chips and salsa and sodas were always full and Rudy was in top notch witty form (thank you for always making me smile, LOVE!!!!!) My family has been frequenting this business for about 25 years and we will keep on supporting them for as long as they are will to cook for us. Went to dinner, heard it had great food. I had a chicken tostada, rubbery dry chicken, pretty bad. My husband had carne asada, not marinated, not good. Locals seem to like it, but I think alchohol must help. Service was ok. read more

This place is easily passed by 1) by its smallness on the corner and 2) because of the building itself. But once inside, the place does have a Mexican feel to it. The dinning area is very small and can feel a bit overcrowded if there are other patrons eating inside. The service is fair (it's not the absolute best but still very friendly) but what shines the most here is their food. We have eaten here several times and each time their food has been very tasty with good portions. Their prices are moderate for the portion and quality of food that is served. i first ate here when i was in the 7th grade, i am now 32 years old and have eaten here consistently for all those years. it is a family owned and operated place and i have seen the the kids go from cleaning tables to running the show, so maybe im a little nostalgic about this place, but i think it is great. are you going to walk away from here having your mind blown by what an amazing culinary experience you just had? no. will you get a solid and tasty meal in a friendly casual relaxed environment? yes. if you are the type of person that wants some snooty hipster waiter to stop at your table every 10 seconds to explain to you what is on the menu and how and why you should eat it dont go here. this is an unpretentious brass tacks kind of place where you sit down and just have a good meal. the looks of the restaurant wont blow your mind but it is a super friendly place with very nice people. the tacos are great and so is most everything on the menu, it always tastes good every time. the chips and salsa are my personal favorite in the antelope valley area. the draught beer is the coldest around and reasonably priced. this is an old school hole in the wall kind of place that has stood the test of time and been in business for at least 20+ years for a reason. i love speedy joes and it will continue to be a cosistent part of my life for as long as it is around. read more
