Amazing!!!! Let me tell y'all something, their Chile Rellenos are the absolute best that I have ever had. They aren't good, they are the best, y'all hear me, the best! What you need to do, is make sure that you get yourself an extra one and eat that in the morning. The place smells really good when you walk in. I don't know what the smell was wafting out of the kitchen, but I knew I wanted it ... unfortunately, whatever it was, I didn't order it. The first thing down on the table was the selection of chips and salsa. These were not a great introduction to the restaurant's food. So we ordered guacamole in the hopes that would improve things, but it didn't. I thought the chips and guacamole tasted a little muddy. Hard to describe what that means, but you'll see for yourself. Our waiter was very nice and polite, so it seemed things were looking up once he arrived. However, because the chips and salsa were such a blah, Mr. Picky and I decided to start with just a la carte side orders of chili relleno and cheese enchilada to test the food. Our friends ordered enchilada suisas and steak picado (I stole a bite of the latter and thought it tasted a bit gamey). Anyway, Mr. Picky and I stopped with those small a la carte servings. We all agreed the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The chili relleno is an dish inspired at The Rusten House, and Mexican shrimp cocktail and other things are far better at Pepe El Toro. We sat at Speedy Joe's and waited while our friends finished their food. Then we all drove over to Pepe El Toro where our friends had to then wait for us to order dinner and finish the meal there. Didn't expect it becoming one of my 'go to' restaurants when I'm craving for Mexican dishes! Been seeing this place as we drive by it every time we gas up at Sam's Club or do groceries at Walmart. I've always been asking my wife if they've ever gone and tried the dishes they serve up at Speedy Joe's... Had this chance to try out what they had to offer after the 4th of July this year 2021. Wen't with my close friend as we've been going to Mexican fast food, food truck and restaurants every now and then. The place was cozy, staff was very hospitable and respectful, even the customers seem to know each other as one table leaves after a good meal, they would stop by at each table while exiting the restaurant and have small talks with each other, I would say they've been here a couple of times as patrons and had known one another for the same reason, nice place, awesome food and wonderful dinning experience. One of the customers did had a pleasant conversation with us, very friendlily and hospitable... Speedy Joe's beats most if not all Mexican restaurants, fast food, food trucks around Palmdale and Lancaster that I had been to. Awesome accommodation, guess relations, great tasting food and an out of this world experience. Wait time to get food was 10mins tops while the place had its tables half capacity, with was nice. read more

I just ordered chicken enchiladas for myself and son. Spent $37 on food that smells like diarrhea. The stench coming off this food is nauseating. They are normally good. Came here for lunch with my wife. Now we've both lived in the AV for more than 10yrs and never came in this place. We should have a long time ago. I always thought this place must be a cover for some unsavory operation, but it's really a food gem. Not over the top with decor but the food was good and to tell you the truth I wasn't expecting that. They have a very good salsa, I give it 7 out of 10, it has a lil bite which I liked. I've been wanting a wet burrito for a long time and they hit all the marks for a good wet burrito. I got the pork with Verde which is green but I want to get the red sauce next time to try it out. I gave the burrito an 7 out of 10. I am happy we went and yes I will be coming back to see if the second time lives up to the first. I came here for the first time this afternoon with my co-workers for lunch. We all ordered separate and diverse menu items, and we were all impressed with the quality of the food. The serving portions could have been bigger in terms of the rice and beans, but overall, it was very good. It felt like a family owned restaurant because our server was young, seemed inexperienced and he was the only one on the floor taking orders, and running food. His mother was pouring drinks and helping out in whatever way she could. There was one cook in the kitchen and it did take quite a bit of time for our order to come out. It got very crowded around lunchtime and I could tell that they were having trouble keeping up with the influx of customers. They definitely need a facelift in the restaurant meaning that they need to brighten it up a bit with better lighting, and paint. It is a small restaurant with some uneven flooring and the overall cleanliness could be better. read more

I've lived in the AV for 9 years. Only came across this Gem of Mexician cuisine 4 years ago. I order take out food from this place at least once a week. Service is fast, food is hot and fresh. Albondigas soup is by far the best, and filled with everything. They're Tacos delicious. I've had their burritos and they have always been perfect. Don't let the outside look of this place discourage you as it is old... but you'll have one of the best meals ever. read more

This hole in the wall place was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad I tried it. Great authentic food for great prices. Hard shell tacos are my family's favorites and steak picado is my favorite. They also have tasty fajitas served on a sizzling tray. Their large menu has something for everyone. We first went to Buffalo Wild Wings than we were told it would be a 90 minute wait. Ummmm, nope. We walked across the street to speedys and with no wait we were seated immediately. The food was fantastic, service was great and we will definitely be back. The corn tortillas... I asked for flour, but accidentally got corn and I'm so glad. They were absolutely delicious. Sat down ordered drinks and was also given FREE Chips and Salsa, WOW this was some real good SALSA.....I told Homie and he said oh thanks they get mixed reviews on the salsa a lot of people find it too hot!. Freakin' GABACHOS stick to TACO BELL if your going to complain about the heat! I opted for the Carne Asada Burrito and my wife had a Pollo Burrito, the Burritos were wet and came with a enchilada type sauce on the top, I asked for extra Salsa and dumped it on top and the BURRITOS WERE AWESOME, the Carne Asada was cooked to perfection with excellent flavor, and the Pollo was Chicken Breast also cooked to perfection with great flavor!. Speedy Joe's may not look like much but it's a pretty much straight-out-of-Hollywood setup for a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. There's the old guy from Mexico who has very little English but lots of love and takes obvious pleasure in people enjoying his food. There's the adult son, who has just enough playful attitude to make you feel welcome. There's usually a telenovela or futbol on the TV and if the guys working the place are paying attention to the game, that's actually okay, because they haven't forgotten about you. And then there's the meal. Think straight ahead Mexican comfort food: albondigas soup, zarapes and enchiladas and carnitas, a generous sprinkle of cheese on the refried beans, fresh pico de gallo and lettuce, creamy guacamole. If you want a drink, they have sweet white wine margaritas, served in the silly upside-down sombrero glasses, but I think what the food wants is an ice cold bottle of beer. There have been times where there is only one server, and the decoration is very simple. BUT THE FOOD IS WORTH IT .... and the price is right!
