Maybe he should change the name of the business to "Honest Sam's Pool Service!" I contacted him about a problem I had with the spa light tripping the GFCI outlet when the spa light was turned on. I removed the spa light fixture thinking it was the bulb, but the bulb worked in another light socket and a new bulb installed in the spa fixture still would not work and tripped the GFCI. So it seemed like there was a short circuit in the spa light fixture or cord. When Sam arrived (on time), he looked things over and came to the conclusion that it was something else plugged into the GFCI that was the issue, not the spa light fixture. So the spa light fixture didn't have to be replaced saving me hundreds of dollars. He reinstalled the spa light into the niche for me too. From now on, Speedy/Honest Sam is the only service I'll use! Started using this business beginning of December. Sammy is a really friendly, upbeat guy, reasonable pricing but it all ends there. FYI, he is not the one doing the cleaning. Whoever he sends out don't do a very good job cleaning, flakes, poor communication if any at all, not to mention careless...very unprofessional. The rod on the skimmer kept banging against our windows and walls... didn't stop till my wife looked out side and made eye contact. Pictures posted. See for yourself and decide. Day 1 should have already been a red flag. Everytime we messaged "Sammy" he would then tell us he has to check with "Jessie". Hmm, so who's the boss here. Isn't it speedy Sam's pool service? Or is it Jessie's pool service. Whoever it is, they clearly don't know what the other person is doing. The only thing they got right was the "speedy" part. In and out in less that 15 min and that includes setting up, and packing up. As you can see, he is quick to retaliate, making up excuses. The reviews are TRUE! It is hard for me to trust reviews on Yelp, which is why I usually contact and meet with a few of the same vendors. I called two pool companies to inspect a pool for a house I was purchasing. Neither would write up a inspection report. Not sure why, but Sam said that is something that he is licensed to do and does often. I needed the inspection the following day and Sam polity agreed to meet me on a Saturday morning. Sam is great! I ask a lot of questions and he took the time to answer them all. I feel like I am a pool expert now. :-) I have decided to cancel the appointments with the other pool inspectors. Just like the name implies, "Speedy Sam" is certainly speedy. Our pool pump went out two days before vacation and Sam replaced it with a much better, high efficiency, pump all before we left on our trip. We will definitely be using him again. Thanks Sam! I used speedy for regular, weekly pool service for roughly half a year. In that time I had four or five different folks service the pool. I think only one of them did the job well. The rest showed up sporadically, theyd empty the skimmer and pump filters and leave. Most of the time these guys didn't check water chemistry or balance the water out. I had to appointments with another company who never showed up. Enough was enough. Wow! In my profession, my personal slogan is "dedicated to customer service"! I don't have the worlds or expression for the service that was recently provided by Speedy Sams. I had an issue with my spa as it was making a "humming" noise. We called Sam a few days ago. He assured us that he would be at our home between 9 and 10 am. He arrived promptly at 9:10. He immediately went to work on the spa. Based on what he could here, and see, it sounded like my pump was going to be needing an overhaul. As he was removing the pump, he found a large piece of plastic in the eye of the pump. He removed the debris, changed the O ring out and put it all back together. Our spa is a good as new! Now for the cost.... Wow!!! I was at a lost for words when I saw on the invoice. I tried arguing with Sam, but he wasn't going to budge on the price. I ended up paying him a gourmet cup of coffee for his service. Yes, NO CHARGE and he spend about an hour at my home. I've had issues with my inground pool for weeks and i let one pool person try to fix the filter, my hayward console and the Heater for pool and hot tub- my previous pool guys screwed things so bad - my pool was completely shut off for a week or so. I had multiple other large well known pool companies come over and give me their assessment on how to undo or fix the mess from my other pool person. These other pool service firms came and look at everything and they said the can't fix the issue and ALL of the said I had to buy a new filter system costing from 3000 to 6000. I'm placing alertness and complain with this maintenance company, Speedy Sam's Pool Service on the following facts of unpleasant experience on how they handle customer concerns; 1. They didn't maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the swimming pool and whenever we informed them, they will just say that it is well cleaned and the reason is because the pool is nearby the trees; 2. Whenever we complain about the loud noise and strong vibrations whenever we switch-on the pump and mach., and requested them to check on it, they simply said its working well during their Tech. visit., even if we requested to let their Tech. stay longer whenever they're testing it so they can see for themselves that loud sound and vibrations are coming afterwards; 3. Whenever we raised that their Tech. is not cleaning well, they will just stand to their word that they're maintaining the swimming pool properly. Given above experiences, I just decided to stop their service and requested them to off-set one month of their service invoice as I'm physically in the premise and had a personal observation the whole time I'm in it. Instead of making amicable settlement, they strongly stated that I must pay full amount and even threaten to make case to court and put lien on my property. They even said that they have all proofs that their Tech. is coming regularly as agreed, but I can see from afar how their Tech. come & go after just few mins. of getting in my premise. After reading all the great Yelp reviews, I sent an email to Sam on a Sunday and he got back to me that same afternoon! I have just put my house on the market and I desperately needed some maintenance on my "spool" (extra-large spa, 9X15 feet) as it had gotten some algae growing in it and the pump needed a new backwash valve. He also did a service on my DE filter and added some salt. As a result, I'm having him do the maintenance from this point on and have gotten a quote on a new heater.
