Sooooo…read more.. first of all they quoted me new tires... it wasn't the highest priced tires they have but I was told they would work. The best part...I couldn't make it in to get a quote and Jack gave me one via text. I really like Derion, Avery and Jerome. These guys are funny and knowledgeable. They man the desk at times but at least two of them seemed very capable to work out in the shop. I worked while they put new tires on my vehicle and fixed the alignment. The top of the coffee table rises so it was easy to sit and get some work done. The couch was comfy, there is a TV and music playing. There is also a coffee maker and popcorn popper. I didn't partake in either...too early. The only issue which is not their fault... is the parking. It's really hard to find a spot. Luckily they are fast and efficient. So as I sit here a family came in to have something fixed on their truck. They were just passing through. These guys jumped to action. They don't want them waiting long. I can only imagine the fear of stopping somewhere you don't know with a car issue. They don't know it but they are lucky they stopped here. I was just told that I need an oil change. The light wasn't on but I actually knew it would need an oil change soon so I can appreciate the fact that they asked if they could do it. I'll be back!

generally speaking when it comes to any kind of service, you have the impossible trifecta: where…read moreyou can choose at most two of fast, high quality, and affordable. ecotech is, in my opinion, one of the companies that has the latter two down. the work they do here is good, on the basis that i haven't run into any problems yet. also, i feel like the service is fairly affordable, in that regular maintenance isn't too bad, and special servicing compares favorably to other places in the STL area that offer the same thing the slow-ness really comes out when it comes to scheduling an appointment. there's almost zero chance you'll be able to call them and get something scheduled in the same week - the fastest ive ever had it is like three weeks. so, i do think things here are kind of slow. maintenance itself also doesn't go super fast; for comparison you could call autozone, have an appointment on the same day, and get your servicing done in like an hour and a half however, it might just not be conceptually possible for a good place have fast service: if everyone wants to come here, inevitably it's gonna be hard to get a spot. in addition, car service might not be the kind of thing you want done quickly, even if it was possible. overall im happy with ecotech

When the engine failed, I contacted EcoTech for service. I spoke with Misha, who quoted me $3,500 for the repair. After they received the car and disassembled it, Misha called and increased the price to over $7,000. Feeling I had no other options, I reluctantly agreed. I expected a rebuilt or new engine, but what I received looked like a junkyard unit. It used very old parts, and none of the brand-new components from my original engine were transferred over. I strongly suspect my good parts were kept and reused on other jobs. To make matters worse, the car now performs significantly worse than before. It feels very weak, with sluggish acceleration (0-60 mph in about 20 seconds) and constantly needs to downshift even on minor inclines just to maintain speed. I had also purchased new wheels after lowering the car, specifically ordering them with metal valve stems at an extra cost. EcoTech neither installed the new valve stems nor transferred the TPMS sensors from my old wheels. Additionally, they sent the car to an alignment shop and told me it would cost $120. I agreed because it was cheaper than my usual shop's $150 rate. However, I was ultimately charged $170 by the shop they recommended. Overall, I felt taken advantage of by EcoTech due to my limited knowledge of Subarus. Buyer beware -- I would never recommend or use them again.

That morning the check engine light came on again. Then they replaced the catallyric converter, the clock spring, the valve cover gasket, and pcv valve. Apparently none of this was discovered the first time I brought it in. This was on a Friday then over the weekend it started making a tapping noise. I brought it in Monday and they told me now the transmission needs to be replaced. Again this was not discovered either of the two times I brought the car in within two and an half weeks.Every time you have service done shortly afterwards another problem arises. They took me for $2700. I will never go back here and I'm selling the car basically for scrap and getting an electric car.
