The Wahlburger was pretty good, albeit sloppy. Fries were a bit starchy. Honestly, I would rather just go to Wendy's or McDonalds for better fries and a less sloppy burger. Gotta support local though. read more

The sister company to Bill Gray's, they offer essentially the same fare, only Tom Wahl's has their signature Root Beer. Generally better burgers then the major national chains, for fries and onion rings. They also have fish fries and Zweigles Hots. Hard rolls, not just mini buns. A nicer place to sit and eat Pre-Covid. read more

Sadly, this location is nothing compared to the one on Monroe Avenue. The only reason I'm giving it two-stars is for the location and drive-thru convenience but that's it. And if I were to be honest, what's convince and a drive-thru really worth if the food and service aren't up to par? I ordered a cheeseburger on a hard roll with ketchup and a little Mayo, along with a small onion ring and small fry- yes, I know a lot of food for one person but I just couldn't decide between the fries and onion rings. The total came to $17.46 which I thought was a little steep but for decent food I don't mind- unfortunately the food did not justify the cost. The bottom of the roll was soaking wet and I hate to say it wasn't grease but water- drenched and falling apart...so gross. The meat was very dry and didn't taste fresh- maybe they make them the night before and just heat them up? Fries were ok, and onion rings were nothing special. Drive-they staff was not friendly at all and seemed inconvenienced by me even using the drive-thru...not sure why I don't think I ordered something extraordinary or a huge order, maybe they were just having a bad day. Went at 11:45am on Friday, wasn't busy at all...maybe that should have given me a clue on the quality of food and friendliness of staff. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Went to my favorite Tom Wahls because it's between my house and my daughters plus my local one doesn't have a drive thru. Since everything is fresh made it takes a few minutes which a sign indicates but it's worth the wait. I got my favorite Hollywood Burger and a chocolate shake. I love their nice thick shakes. The burger is also good but a bit messy to eat which is why I prefer getting it to go. The staff is always friendly too. They have a nice dining area when we can go back in again! read more

Don't know where to begin. I ordered a small chocolate sundae for my child. The hot fudge didn't even go all the way around the ice cream, and that was of course after he made it wrong in the first place, with vanilla, not chocolate. Then I received my Hollywood burgers, two of them. I opened the bun there were barely any condiments on them. See picture! They only have two choices for cheese, and the cheddar was so thin you could see the burger through it! Cheese doesn't even cover the burger either. Very little lettuce. Pathetic. Fries were a generous amount though to be fair, and the root beer float was good. I will not come back to this location again for sure. read more

Haven't been to Tom Wahls in a long time but six of my family members and I decided to grab dinner on a Friday night. Three of us had the fish fry and the others had cheeseburgers. The fish was okay, but with the amount of Tatar sauce I use - most fish is :) I wasn't a fan of the cole slaw, it had a bitter taste to it but if you're a fan of that type of recipe, you'll be happy because you get a big portion. Their fries are super yummy and my home made root beer was amazing! That's one of my favorite things at Tom Wahls. Unfortunately I got a moldy piece of bread that I actually bit into and ate - eek! I let the staff know and they offered me a new roll that I turned down for obvious reasons. I won't hold it against them as that could happen to any restaurant I guess but it did ruin my appetite after that. read more

Always a good burger! Meat to bun ratio is great. Its a thinner patty which I personally like. My favorite is the blue cheese burger. Something about blue cheese crumbles on a burger just seems right. Personally not a fan of crinkle cut fries but they keep it simple here. Onion rings are excellent though. They even have milkshakes and ice cream which are also pretty good. If you are looking for a greasy but delicious meal this is the place for you. Service is always fast and great and they even have a drive thru which is convenient. If you live in Rochester most people get the Tom Wahls craving its a tradition. read more

I was in the Fairport area and needed to get a quick bite for lunch and saw Tom Wahl's so I stopped in for some cheeseburgers. I've been to their other locations including the original in Avon and in Brighton. This place felt like a typical fast food joint nothing special... All of these experiences have been fine but the burgers themselves tend to be overcooked since they are so thin. I believe that Don's in Sea Breeze is a superior burger - juicier and tastier. I would certainly stop here before going to the big chains but I would definitely look for other options. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the hamburgers. They were thinner than paper. The ham on the Wahlburger was thinner than the hamburger, if that is even possible!!!! If I could rate a zero I would. I ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, a root beer and some hot sauce on the side. I got home and there was only 1 French fry and no hot sauce. This is the first time I have been in Tom Wahl's in five years. So I asked the cashier how to order. This is key to this whole post. Do you subtract items on you burger (-mustard) or do you add (+pickles). She took the order correctly but the person who made the items must have been lost in space because the two burgers we received were no where close to our order. The worst part was the burger with everything had a dollop each of mustard and ketchup. No enough to we the bun. There is **no chance I will go there again knowing that the location in Perinton is less sloppy and more caring about their customers. **I returned to Tom Wahl's the next day to get my money back and the manager insisted we give it another try. So I got my husband from the car and we tried again. I am taking back everything thing I said about their burgers being dry and missing toppings. They got it right this time and both my husband and I were very happy the burgers were so tasty. Thank you Tom Wahl's for listening. read more

My wife and I went in this evening (12 Jan 2016) and ordered a couple burgers. It was explained that "everything" included ketchup, mustard, hot sauce (hot meat sauce) along with the standard lettuce, tomato etc. I was excited about the hot sauce and I like everything else including extra pickles so I ordered "everything". In my naivete I neglected to check the darn bag before leaving and when we got home to eat I discovered that "everything" means a plain burger with a dash of ketchup and mustard and a little container of pickles on the side...not a happy camper. read more

Had dinner here last night and treated myself to a cheeseburger, fried mushrooms with blue cheese dip and their famous homemade root beer!! The food was fresh and piping hot! Absolutely hit the spot! The young man behind the counter was so helpful and very friendly, as I had a couple questions about the menu, which he answered very efficiently. It's so nice to see a high school kid working hard and taking pride in his job and appearance. That seems to be a rare find nowadays. His name is Jerry, and he deserves a kudos for sure. Burgers were overly greasy and had absolutely no taste, except for grease. Horribly greasy. Chocolate milk was sour and spoiled, and when the manager was approached with the issue, all she did was throw the milk out without an apology or rectifying the situation. We won't be returning. read more

This location is sub par. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was bloody in the middle I brought it to their attention and they cooked another one. It was nearly burnt to a crisp. My bf & I just left the fairport TW location about 20 min ago, I couldn't even wait to get home to write this review bc my bf is behind the wheel, speeding home so he can dry heave. That about sums up our experience at TW this afternoon. First of, the young woman who took our order looked beyond annoyed that we even walked in (3 other ppl there) . Then we got our crusty food.... 5 lbs OF RAW ONION PILED ONTO THE GARBAGE PLATE like they were pissed we ordered onions. The burgers looked like they were picked up off the side of the road & thrown onto our plates. Besides our food tasting disgusting & looking like there was no health regulations in place...
