Spencer's at the Waterfront delivered a really enjoyable dining experience, with a few standout dishes and excellent service. The highlight of the meal was definitely the oysters. They were incredibly fresh, a great size, and absolutely delicious. At $4 each they're definitely on the pricey side, but if you're planning a visit, Wednesday after 5 p.m. is the best time to go for their half-price oyster special. We also ordered the burrata paired with their focaccia bread, which was very good. While it wasn't the best burrata I've ever had, it was still a solid 4/5 and worth ordering. The bread alone was very tasty and fresh. The truffle parmesan fries were a bit of a letdown (3/5). They came topped with a very thick, mayo-based sauce that wasn't the most appetizing. I think I'd have enjoyed them much more if the sauce had been served on the side for dipping, but that's just my personal preference. The cocktails were a mixed bag. The Sunset Skies was easily our favourite and one I'd happily order again. Unfortunately, the High Noon wasn't for me--it had a very floral flavour that I found unpalatable. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. Our server was incredibly attentive and noticed that I hadn't touched my High Noon cocktail. Without hesitation, they offered to replace it with another drink of my choice and removed the original cocktail from our bill. That level of attentiveness and customer service really stood out. Overall, the food was enjoyable, the cocktails had a standout winner, and the service was outstanding. I'd definitely return, especially for the oysters on Wednesday evenings. First time ever going. I really enjoyed the ambience of the terrace. The warm weather complimented it nicely & set a great tone for the evening. The food was spectacular overall. I came on a Mon around 17:30 and stayed until 20:00 (taking photos and videos of course!). The restaurant had very few guests. Because they were not busy, the service was excellent! They even asked the sous chef to make sure the presentation was excellent; he didn't disappoint. Their menu changes seasonally. I ordered the following: 1. Coke ($). 2. Tempura Shrimp ($27). 3. Crispy Duck Leg Confit & Breast ($46). 4. Saskatoon Berry Cheesecake ($14). The Tempura Shrimp were tiger shrimp and were so plump, each about 1 inch diameter at the widest end! They were de-shelled and tempura battered. There were orange slices (orange), avocado slices (green), and chili slices (red), making the dish colourful. The Crispy Duck came with a leg and sliced breast portions. Accompanying them were tamarillo, sunchoke puree, bordelaise, dried kale chips, berry gastrique, and chopped candied pecans. All the ingredients worked well together, with mixtures of savoury and sweet tastes. The Cheesecake was amazing. The cheesecake itself was an upside-down half sphere. It was soft; I prefer that over the typical firm cake. There were miniature dried berries on top, along with a ruby chocolate sauce, and a sliced of dried red beet. Surrounding it was a soft marshmallow meringue which was lightly torched. The colour theme was red and white with a touch of dark blue. Daimon, the sous chef, plated everything expertly for me. There is plenty of indoor seating, of which one side has a view of the lake. There is lively music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free street parking on weekends on a street running north of the restaurant. There is also a paid parking lot next to the restaurant. Always a wonderful spot to come to. Beautiful scenery. I've been here quite few times for lunch. This is my first brunch and it was delicious. We were seated right away and the hostess was very nice. The wait staff were also very attentive, almost too attentive because we were interrupted quite a few times during our conversation and meal. Returned to Spencer's at the Waterfront for brunch and was not disappointed. I enjoy visiting Spencer's on special occasions. At the recommendation of the service staff, I ordered the Crab Cake Egg Benedict (lemon aïoli, boston lettuce, chive hollandaise), served for weekend brunch only. Similar to my previous meals here, the food had subtle layers of flavour that came together nicely with every bite. I tend to gravitate to food that I can't get at other restaurants. The server informed us that the meal was not served on brioche like the other Egg Benedict's, but I was still full with the side salad (yeh, no arugula). My husband ordered the side fries so his belly was full. There were two crab cakes with eggs, and plenty of crab inside. I was glad that I didn't taste fillers. Service was good and we sat at a table with a waterfront view. The Sloane tea and beverages were a pricey and small for what they were, hence one of the reasons I don't come here as frequently. This is the premier destination for all that is amazing about the Waterfront out west of Toronto. The location is amazing. The funny white rubber tire peep that gives stars that look like the Yelp Logo missed Burlington! And if they were out there, Spencer's should be a bright shining star. BUT who needs it...!!! Spencer's is what I consider the best of Burlington. From the moment you step into their restaurant and event space, you get that the feeling that it's going to be great night - cue The Black Eye Peas! Food here is incredible. Every course is delicious. The chefs really know how to put a proper cook on the meats and seasoning is always on point for their dishes. Their dessert game has really been up'ped since my last visit. Everything is made in house with the freshest and best ingredients. That seafood tower was so fresh, i swear that the lobster and crab could walk off the table and take the oysters with them. Yikes! LOL! The people here are attentive, friendly, and they deliver what we expect from a fine dining establishment such as Spencer's. The restaurant has a great ambiance; good choice of music, splendid view of the Lake Ontario and varied selection of food to choose from. We ordered "Spencer's Platter" for appetizer. Nice collection of fresh oysters, crab leg, shrimp and Salman tataki. My favorite part of our meal. For mains, we ordered "Braised Lamb Shank" and "Striploin Steak with Fries" - medium cooked. Lamb shank was deliciously marinated and cooked. Steak was okay, but it was more of medium-rare and I couldn't enjoy as much as I should. During the last long weekend, my family decided to visit the Burlington Lakefront for at chill and relax lunch at the Spencer's at the Waterfront Restaurant. I personally loves the atmosphere of this restaurant, especially the lakes view huge windows and the interior deco. The staffs service are excellent and my waitress manage to multitasking without any errors. Environment wise, this place is 10 out of 10 in a good sunny day. Now let discuss about the food. My sister commented their Beef Tartare and Salmon Tataki tasted very similar. Even though, one dish is beef and the other dish is fish. I personal believe the Nova Scotia Lobster Roll is a dish that you can totally skip. On the positive side, their 22 oz T-Bone is grilled perfectly and the grill smell really increased my appetite. T-Bone is also very flavorful, most likely it have been aged. The highlight of this meal is surprisingly the Coconut Sorbet dessert. It is so creamy and flavorful, it like eating a soft version of a coconut. My dad commented this Coconut Sorbet alone is worthwhile for driving to Burlington Lakefront. I came here for a wedding. The host rented two of their wedding rooms. One of them was the solarium I believe. I thought the rooms where the wedding was held were gorgeous, but the common dinning room for the regular guest looked like any topical restaurants - Joey's equivalent standard. My expectations were high given all the instragram tags. Unfortunately the food did not amazing me, I felt like it was lacking in flavour. I would probably not come here for a dinner date, but I might consider trying their brunch buffet one day. I ordered the bbq club sandwich with salad and was super disappointed with mine. My salad had barely any dressing in it, no other vegetables and was jammed into the smallest bowl. My club sandwich was good but nothing special. And at the end, of course, for dessert, a piece of hair on my plate, not belonging to me.. This place is beautiful it right next to our hotel and apparently a hot spot in Burlington a very classy spot and romantic. There is an ice skating rink close by. I wouldn't recommend brining kids I think it perfect for a date nice or professional business dinner. I love that they check your coat. Very classy and upscale. The food was so absolutely appetizing, mouth watering good. I have zero complaints. The lighting is very dim that is one thing I would change or maybe add a candle on the table. I have no complaints about the price of the food because it was worth every penny. My drink was also amazing . My dessert wine was a perfect finish for the evening. I hope when I go back to Canada I get to go back during spring because I bet the view is even more breath taking . We had a lovely dinner at Spencer's tonight. Ordered a couple of cocktails. The crab cakes were delicious and loaded with lots of fresh crab meat. Hubby and I ordered a tenderloin and striploin with the asparagus side to share. Finished off with a really rich dark chocolate tart. The food was cooked well. However, we didn't add any sauces to the steaks and asparagus so the flavors were pretty basic- just salt and pepper, and butter. Would have liked the steaks better if sides and sauce was included. Wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a complete plate. Maybe with some creamy mushroom risotto or mashed potatoes. Or butter rolls. The asparagus side was too much for one person so I think it was good that we shared. Overall, the service was very attentive. View of the water was fantastic. Parking was easy and free. We made an early reservation to come for their brunch that's only available on Sundays. The day didn't start well because of traffic from a collision on the highway which had caused us to arrive half an hour late. Luckily, they still had our seats reserved. We sat at the patio overlooking the sparkling lake where the sun was shining above our heads. It was such a bright sunny day for a patio brunch. I started my meal with their made-to-order Belgian waffles and crepes. Yes, the sweet stuffs first and I had no regrets! They were sooooo fluffy and soft, just like how I want them to be. The omelette station was also right beside the crepe station so I got an "everything omelette" to go with my starters. As I walked further into the hall inside, I was greeted with more breakfast selection like, eggs benedict, bacon, sausage and peameal bacon. I was really surprised to see eggs benedict in the menu as it was such a rare item to be served well at a buffet. But, they nailed the poached egg, just the right doneness for the yolk to come out runny. Towards the end of the hall, there were tables full of fresh fruits, artisan cheese, salad, freshly baked bread and Charcuterie. But, I went straight to their meat station instead to try their roast beef and lamb. And as lovers for seafood, Will and I kept going back to get their seafood station to get their oysters, mussels and king crab legs! As for the desserts, they offered a decent selection of pastries, pies, tortes, cake and a chocolate fountain! Woot! I wish there were more cakes than pies though. I'm more of a cake person than a pie person. It would be quite shameful if we only had tap water to go with our meals. So, it was great that the brunch came with fresh beverages without extra charges. Their fruit smoothies were so delicious on such a hot day, I think I ended up sipping 2 glasses after finishing off their freshly squeezed orange juice. And if you don't show up ( say you're sick, have an emergency etc or simply change your mind ) they charge at least $100 to your card. It was quite windy and chilly outside near the waterfront so we decided to sit inside but I will definitely sit on the patio or near the window side if I do visit again; the view is just spectacular! Our server was very pleasant; she explained to us in detail what drinks we could order - basically all the yummy alcoholic drinks you can think of and would drink during brunch time, as well as an array of coffee choices, smoothies, and juices. She also introduced us to the various buffet stations! Overall, the selection and variety of foods were great - there was an omelette station, crepe/waffle station, seafood (mussels, cocktail shrimp, raw oysters, crab legs, smoked salmon) table, bread and cheese table (MY PERSONAL FAV), breakfast food stations (eggs benedict, sausages, bacon, etc), meat table (prime rib, lamb, ham), fruit, chocolate fondue, and two huge tables of dessert. However, the quality of the food was a hit or miss depending on what you choose to get on your plate. Because I just love to try everything, I would say the highlight would be the meat table as well as the cheese/bread station! The rest of the food was quite mediocre which was unfortunate, as the service was friendly and the view was so nice. We drove 45 mins to do takeout and enjoy in the park with my 2 small children. I looked at their website and planned our day around this. We called to order and was left on hold for a long time, so I hung up and called back. They said the website is wrong and they will not do take out for us even with my explanation of our drive and planned our day. There are no other restaurants close by and my children went without lunch I'm appalled with their lack of consideration for us.
