I don't thin I've ever purchased anything from a Spencer's ever. It's literally just a fun stop destination for me and my friends if we're wandering around a mall, or even more nostalgically, when we were teens without cars and spend hours at the mall. Fun shop to look at lots of pop culture goods, memes, gag gifts and of course, the racier stuff that they have in the back is great to get gasps and laughs out of people. Very well stocked store, up to the ceiling with merch and goods. A bit disorganized with the sheer amount of goods everywhere and can be a bit of a claustrophobic hellscape if you have never been to one before or with the size of the party you're with or if it's a busy day at the mall. Staff welcomed us in, but mostly minded their own business as they did have a lot of customers in that day. They do have lots of deals, a clearance section, etc. so if you do need a funny gift, this Spencer's works in a pinch. read more

The store was incredible. This Spencer's location in particular had outstanding customer service. There's workers in here that REALLY respected me and I had a great day in general. The selection of products in this Spencer's was great, they had a variety of good items, such as graphic tees, vibrators, and decorative items. A specific part of this mall experience that left me just feeling satisfied with my day at Spencer's was the outstanding kindness of these employees. They helped me search for items with no problems, issues, or judgement. Overall, the experience was a solid 10/10, and as a frequent mall visitor and Spencer's fan, and an alternative person, I recommend Spencer's at Ontario Mills. Love itttttttt! Who doesn't love Spencer's? They always have the best t-shirts. If you like music bands, you are sure to find a t-shirt with them on it here. Some of the t-shirts are goth like, or alternative. Spencer's has definitely changed over the years and it's as heavy metal/ full goth as it used to be. I still like it though. It's more anime and pop culture based. Half of the store is clothing and the other half is adult gag gifts and toys. Spencer's has always been that way. Prices are probably not the best. They do seem steep. Sometimes they have sales though and that makes it more worth it. I grabbed a fun looking date night game and some massage oil. Service was good- fast and friendly. read more

I went in yesterday for a return and the lady at the register was extremely rude, she left to get another cashier after waiting in line for a long time, luckily the cashier was very helpful and changed my mood, but guest service was not the best. I'm rating this store two stars because there were no warning signs outside to alert families about the adult content inside. I'm glad I came in with just my husband, but if I had brought my kids, I would have been caught off guard. The store has definitely changed since I was younger. The front section has fun items like shirts and pajama bottoms, but the back is more geared toward adults. It really should be labeled as an adult store, and families should be warned before entering. While the store was crowded and merchandise was crammed everywhere, I did find some pajama bottoms I liked, but they didn't have my size. Customer service was friendly. read more

First, I want to say that I have always loved this store since I was a teenager. But now.... I took my 16 year old daughter shopping and she likes the t-shirts in this store. But at the back of the store is a wall, out in the open that has ADULT TOYS! I don't think this is appropriate for a store where many kids or teenagers go to shop. The store should either put the items behind a closed doors in a separate room or separate it from the rest of the store either a sheet or something. I watched two little boys about maybe 8 years old just staring at the wall and the other women's lingerie. Can't believe that the store would have this in the open! Need to change this! read more

Me and my daughter, Camila, went in Spencer's to buy a gift for a friend, like a shirt that we couldn't find Boxlunch or Hottopic... this place was very inappropriate! My child was traumatized at this "coochie cream" or something, and the sex toys with minors(teens between 14-17 atleast) being there! She even had this headband with the same design as the underwear there!! Very disgusting! You guys should atleast put a warning outside if your store! read more

He was so warm and friendly and attentive the whole time I was shopping here yesterday, and really went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. My very FIRST time inside a Spencer's Gifts and all I can say is why oh why have I not discovered you earlier! It's overwhelming the amount of cool stuff they have in store. If a sex shop and a gag gift store and a cool t-shirt shop had a threesome and somehow produced a baby, Spencer's gift would be that baby. I came here to look at the stripper poles they had. The girl at the front spent a good half an hour telling me all about the different types of poles and the differences between poles and how to mount them in your house (by mount I mean anchor it to your ceiling or floor... get your head out of the gutter!) I ended up not buying a pole and she was still very pleasant and told me to go check out more options online before I make a purchase. So sweet of her. read more

If you buy jewelry and its defective DO worry as you will not be given a refund. We bought 4 pairs and 1 was defective and the 2nd falling apart.. We noticed 10 minutes after purchasing and still we were not given a refund. Reina was very rude and said we should know company policy. Not cool Reina. They do NOT give cash refunds ONIY store credit. The cashier changed us for the wrong item. We paid cash. Took it back within 5 min and the manager said "NO CASH REFUNDS, store credit only." So now we are paying for someone else's mistake. NOT COOL!!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went to the mall today with my best friend to shop for an anniversary gift for her and her fiancé and she wanted to find something spicy so we stopped at Spencer's. The lady working the morning shift approached us in the store asking us if we were shopping or just looking and we told her we were looking obviously to shop, than she went on to say that she needed to stock inventory basically insisting us to either hurry up and buy or leave!! The back of the store mainly has more adult gag prank and sex toys. Sexy outfits and night club lighting sells. Staff: Average punk rock workers, goth or some in skater like clothing. Staff were busy stocking or something, no greeting or could really find the staffs since they don't have anything particular that makes them look like a staff. The service here was extremely bad. We had a question about an exchange and they were being rude the whole time. We were calm and nice the whole time. We wanted them to explain the receipt and one of the girls was just laughing. They asked their store manager and she let us do the exchange. So they basically gave us trouble for no reason. Service was overall rude. I went in today when they opened to purchase an item and I did but less then twenty minutes later i decided to exchange it for something bigger and the woman on shift was rude as all hell asking why i needed to return it and if i honestly need something bigger. I answered nicely and said yes because it's what i want and she rolled her eyes at me and proceeded to do the exchange extremely slow. The exchange took about 10 minutes which is way too long just to get something else. When i returned home i opened what i purchased and it appeared to be used already. The box had tape around it and i opened it and there was diamonds already missing from it and it smelled extremely bad. I am extremely upset that i cannot return this and get my money back but they only do exchanges and i don't want to purchase anything else from this store. read more

My son went to return 2 water bottles that were defective. I waited in the car only to see him come back with one bottle that he was unable to return. I asked him why he still had it in his bag he said that they only return to one because the other had a little drop of water in it. This was because I washed it out after we try to use it and it didn't work. So I took the bottle went to return it myself. Right as I walked in I was greeted nicely. Once she saw the same bottle that they didn't want to return the demeanor quickly changed the woman that greeted me so nicely turned into such a mean loud person I didn't get her name she was the African American obese woman with the snarkiest attitude loud and rude. So I told her the bottle is defective why she didn't want to take it back but the other she did. Her reason was because I used it but in fact I used both of them how was I supposed to figure out that they were defective if I didn't try it at least once. She said no. because she couldn't put it back on the shelf if I had used it. The fact was that I used both of them and I told her that. The first one that was returned was sitting on the shelf so this means that the Spencers in Ontario Mills is selling used items that were previously returned as new. She went back and forth with me in the rudest way screaming at me when I was calm collected being very respectful she just kept getting more rude and more loud and more obnoxious. And this woman claimed to be the manager along with another woman Melissa which was watching the whole thing. I asked melissa what they did with the returned items and she said that they put it in a defective box so I asked her why can't you just put this one in that box I guess finally something clicked and finally Melissa did give me store credit and I got out of there. I was so mad there was no reason for the obese woman not to return both bottles the first time. I will never come back and shop at this location is the worst customer service ever. I when in there a few days ago, to exchange my key chain/lanyard. I go up to the register and ask to exchange. In hopes I get a new one brought up to me considering they work there to help the costumers. Walked up and got a rude "When you find it bring it up" I was appalled so I did as I was told looked but nothing so I returned and asked for help to my surprise TARA assistant manager angrily makes her way over and half ass looks through the lanyards not even trying and just fast and easy says "ya we don't have it" I was just there in shock of how she was handling this situation treating me like an enemy rather than a costumer. Taking the lazy route of things and goes back to register tells me she'll call Montclair. As I too was giving up hope I found it hidden in the back no thanks to Tara I found my lanyard with out having to go all the way to Montclair it was all ready an inconvenience going there to return it.. And later on I seen her on the massage chairs right out side the store I'm sure she wasn't even on break but just as soon as I got a glimpse of her name tag and saw she was assistant manager I was confused she really either needs to quit cause she obviously hates her work. Or she could at least try and smile considering she's getting paid for the time she spends there. I rarely write reviews but this is all the out come of her service.
