While our server was kind, the service could have been more attentive. We had to ask for water refills and for our tea to be replenished with hot water. Those are small touches that guests should be offered rather than having to request, especially during a tea service. I was also disappointed that wine was only available by the bottle instead of by the glass. Lastly, my companion and I spent a great deal of time creating our costumes for the event. We stepped away briefly to explore one of the beautifully decorated rooms, and during that time the costume contest was held. We either didn't hear or weren't given a clear announcement before it began, so we completely missed the opportunity to participate. Better communication would have made a big difference.
