I've lived in NJ for several years now and have been searching for the appropriate aesthetician to do my Botox (I've had way better luck out of state). I read great reviews about this location and practitioner and had high hopes (even after the excellent online coupon offered - was never applied - I was told it was my job to mention), and instead, I paid a phenomenal fee. I've had Botox done for a decade and occasionally Dysport depending on the recommendation I'm given by the professional. The Botox I received did nothing (and yes, she asked me if I wanted to be fully paralyzed and I said YES, enthusiastically); rather I was fully facially pliable and came in when I was told I could get a touch up (one tiny prick on each side). Of course when that did nothing I reached out again and was deemed someone who just can't be pleased - the vibe I got from the photo attached - also never received more that day because the professional said to instead wait 2 months with nothing and try Dysport next time. I reluctantly agreed because I don't like giving my face that much time to wrinkle and I was already at a disadvantage but I assumed she wanted to right the problem. After the 2 months she said to wait I went to book and asked about - at the very least would there be a discount since it's clearly her idea to wait. And that would be a no. So I've wasted $544 that could've been used on my mother's memorial this week for nothing. Glad so many people are fans but I'll certainly not be back. I'd rather book a ticket and pay half of that for product that works and someone who cares about their results. read more

Had scheduled an appointment for a checkup or a consultation for my summer tan. I almost missed my entrance to the place because my gps took me to the backroads. Otherwise it was a fairly quiet place which is in the same place as RWJ Barnabas Hospital. The employees were very attentive and friendly and they took their time for me to talk to them about my concerns. Emily was my doctor and she was very nice and caring. Sperling Dermatology was recommended by a friend of mine and a client of Dr. Sperling. On three different occasions over the last year, I called trying to get information from the receptionist who answered the phone. I wanted to ask about cosmetic procedures and the receptionist basically told me I had to come in for a consultation to learn more about these procedures. For a hefty fee. All three phone calls, which were inquiries about three different services, were unproductive as the receptionist was arrogant, condescending, and rude. She had no need for me or my business. So I finally deleted Sperling Dermatology from my contact list and ended up with a provider who actually was interested in me, my questions, and my business. They aren't the only game in town. Went today. She was a half hour late to my appointment, rushed, rude, and her front staff was rude. The medical assistant was rude too. The office is outdated and all she did was push pills and not listen. Her cosmetic acumen was lacking. She is not knowledgeable. She wouldn't discuss much. I won't go back. My husband patiently waited for his appointment for a month. He drove 30 miles to Sperling Dermatology only to be told that he won't be seen by the doctor that day. Instead, he was seen by a physician assistant. On top of that, he was told that they don't do a skin check-up on the initial visit. Are you serious? That was the entire point of making the appointment in the first place. He had a few issues that he wanted to have checked out and provided the reasons for his appointment at the time of scheduling it. Eventually, the PA agreed to have him checked. No offense to the PA or other medical professionals but when someone waits for a month and takes a 60-mile roundtrip to see a doctor, they expect to be seen by that doctor... not nurses, PAs, MAs, etc. Apparently, Dr. Sperling just couldn't be bothered. My husband was considering some costly cosmetic treatments as well. But since the doctor had no interest in seeing a scheduled patient, we have taken our business and money elsewhere. It's 2022. Some doctors need to get off their high horse and understand that having a nicely-decorated office, a few receptionists smiling at the front desk, and a couple of local NJ semi-celebrities plastered on their website just isn't cutting it. A friend of mine also went to Sperling for body sculpting. She spent $3,000. It has been a few months and honestly, we don't see any results. They should have been extremely obvious as my friend wears a size 2. I am also not interested in a generic reply pointing out your "thousands of good reviews." read more

I would give them 0 stars. I was told they have same day availability for existing patients. I'm a new patient but was told I need to see a dermatologist as soon as possible and that I cannot wait. The staff said that for a new patient, I have to wait one to two months and they cannot accommodate new patients. Were super unhelpful. Don't waste your time or money here. I'm not sure if this place is a scam or just incompetent. They charged me $300 for the first session of what was supposed to be a 4 session treatment to treat rosacea. I received one treatment and then after that they canceled and rescheduled my next 3 times claiming their laser was broken. The last time they canceled they told me that they were going to call me to reschedule once their laser was working again. It's been 3 months since then and I still haven't heard anything from them. Since the one treatment has no impact on its own, I'm out $300 without having received any effect from the treatment. read more

I'm sure that she is a fine...um...doctor? in the world of cosmetic dermatology, but don't go there expecting a real dermatologist. The whole office is set-up to sell you fad weight loss and snake oil-esque skincare products, but not much else. If you have real dermatological issues, do yourself a favor and choose a different provider. read more

Dr Sperling herself is great. Very talented and easy to work with. Her staff, however is very rude, dismissive and extremely condescending. They have no discretion when it comes to answering questions or giving directions. They yell questions and answers in the office for everyone to hear as well as your name. It's a professional Doctor's office, there is no patient discretion followed at all. I was really disappointed as I would love to go back to see Dr Sperling, however dealing with her staff gives me pause. Stay away from this place!!! I am warning you. The place is a joke and the people working are fake. Who talk about patients behind their backs. At different times I have witnessed the receptionist and assistants talking about patients inappropriately. Also every time I call with any issues the girls working don't care and take your medical condition as a joke. They see your frustration regarding your issue, laugh at it and when you ask to speak to supervisor they just hang up the phone. I do not want to get into details about medical concerns but the doctor is mostly out of office and just has her assistants running the place. If you want a doctor who is there for you when you have an issue this is not the place. What you'll get is loser middle aged girls seating on their high horse laughing at your problems. Don't waste your money go to a doctor who really cares about her practice and who will help you when you have an issue. This place just looks like they are trying to push cool sculpting knowing its a scam and can make a quick buck. read more

I went here for some cosmetic procedures but ended up not going back as I found Dr Sperling's assistant really obnoxious. She had such an attitude and was so condescending in the way she spoke to me. She also forgot to put numbing cream on which resulted in my fillers being excruciatingly painful. My initial consultation with Dr Sperling was very rushed, she was not interested and spent hardly any time with me. The front desk staff make you feel as if they are doing you a favor by even talking to you. I also had cool sculpting here but never went back for my follow up appointment as the whole thing was just a huge waste of money. read more

Dr. Sperling has been treating me and my family for a while now. She is absolutely amazing at what she does, and helped a family member through her struggle with skin cancer. She helped clear up my cystic acne, and is always extremely warm and friendly to me every time. Everyone at the front desk is always so helpful and sweet- they do everything to accommodate you for every appointment. Also, Lourdes is by far the best esthetician I've ever been to. I keep up with facials, and my skin has never looked better. People always ask what I've been doing because it's a noticeable change! She works with the dermatologist to understand what you're looking for out of the facials and what concerns she can address. Even after one time, there was a noticeable difference to my skin. I had a troublesome and annoying problem on my fingers that I had been to a dermatologist for previously. Unfortunately the prior procedure was not effective. When I went to Dr Sperling, she assessed the situation and was confident it could be resolved to my satisfaction. I thought I would check out Dr. Sperling based on the raving reviews but was not impressed to return. I found the front staff and nurse quite cold and the receptionist on the rude side. I almost walked out but had drove an hour and had paid a $75 consultation fee so thought it paid to follow through with the consultation. This was my second time seeing Dr. Sperling . Dr. Sperling is very attentive and informative. She did not rush my appointments. She is a pro and gave me very natural results. She is very personable and made me feel at ease. The staff is very warm, friendly and caring. I didn't feel like anyone in the office was trying to push additional procedures or products.
