Absolutely terrible. I have no idea how this place is rated as a fan favorite. The Pad Kee Maow was the only thing remotely edible -- everything else was a disaster. * Spring Rolls: Frozen, tasteless, and soggy. * Pad See Ew: Had a foul, almost rotten flavor. Requested hot but it was barely spicy at all. * Pad Thai: A mushy, sticky mess -- noodles were overcooked beyond saving. * Basil Fried Rice: Completely flavorless and dry. If this is what they call "Thai food," it's an insult to the cuisine. Easily one of the worst meals I've had in years. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

My husband and I ordered yellow curry, the flavor was there. However, the texture of the chicken was just off. I'm assuming it's the chicken rib meat as opposed to the chicken breast.

Spice Thai Cafe is a great option and we love that they offer their own delivery and are super quick if you want to pick up yourself! Their Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are flavored just right and not greasy. Their yellow and green curry are wonderfully flavored and offer a decent portion too. When adding meat to any entree it's hit or miss on the portion size. Sometimes we get a plentiful amount of chicken and other times it's sparse, but the flavor, cost and quickness keep us coming back time and time again.

Ordered via Uber eats and everything came packaged well & still warm even though I am located a town away. The good: Pad se Ew was very fresh & delicious. The Chicken Thai kids meal was more than enough for an adult & was delicious. The fried rice was very light & delicious. The dipping sauces were good. The bad: The pork dumplings were overcooked. Fried so hard that they turned into rocks. Inedible. The fried spring rolls had very little filling. It was just an empty fried wrapper. The weird: The Basil chicken's meat was not like any chicken I have ever eaten. Not certain it was chicken. Did not eat beyond a bite so no review of the taste. Unfortunately, would not recommend. Wished I could but there were more bad & weird items than good.

Dine in only, it has seating and tables, but they are closed from customers with a sign, so for ambiance, they have nothing that resembles a that restaurant. No service experience, other than a lady taking our to go order Food was cooked in less than the 10 minutes they promised. The food is your average Thai, at moderate prices. The Thai Iced coffee was nice. The Thai yellow curry had a ratio of 50% potatoes/25% beef/25% peppers/onion/carrots. The cyrry was hot and it came with a small portion of steaming rice.

Carry out order of chicken fried rice and spring rolls. Spring rolls were a bit doughy and fresh but dripping oil. Probably not order again. Chicken fried rice is tasty and properly done. Cilantro on top. Good tomato wedges grilled. Chicken is white meat and done well. Seasoned nicely and not too much of any one ingredient. Would get again. Will return and get tofu something.

You know what, Spice Thai is ok. Honestly I was really sad that our dishes weren't what we expected from our experiences at other Thai restaurants. I will say that they have amazing customer service though, and their set up through COVID was a good experience. I went in to pick up my to-go order that we called in ahead of time for. I paid and the sweet girl up front told me to wait in my car and someone would bring it out to me because my order wasn't ready yet. They were running behind on orders, which I get it, it happens. But I waited an extra 15 mins on top of the 20 mins we were originally told. I feel sad to only give them 3 stars, but the pad thai was sweet, which I've never had pad thai be sweet before. I LOVE pad see ew but again, it feel short because it was sweet and I've never had sweet pad see ew before. They had a special to get a free order of veggie spring rolls which we qualified for and they were really good that I'd get them again if I was I just craving some spring rolls. My husband actually had nothing but good things to say about his pad woon sen. He was afraid it would be sweet like the rest of our food was, but he lucked out there lol. Overall, I am grateful for a good experience as far as the service goes. Will we be back....probably not. There are a TON of thai restaurants in the area and we were bummed to not be a fan of this one entirely.

We called to order and got curbside pickup within 15 minutes. Everything went very smoothly and it felt quite safe. We ordered pineapple fried rice (medium), pad kee maow / drunken noodles (medium), and pepper garlic shrimp (mild). They were generous with giving extra spring rolls, which were delightfully crispy on the outside and were devoured within minutes. The pineapple fried rice and pad kee maow were competitively priced as part of the lunch special, and the portions were decent. The pad kee maow was the crowd favorite, with supple, addictive noodles. The pineapple fried rice was delicious and had just the right amount of oil and sweetness. The medium spice level was great for us relatively spice-intolerant individuals. However, the protein in general was not to the same standard. The pepper garlic shrimp dish could be improved. While the shrimp was tender, there were only 6 medium-sized pieces. The dish mostly consisted of sauce and veggies alongside plain white rice, and it was the most expensive dish. The chicken in the pineapple fried rice and the pork in the drunken noodles were dry, although flavorful. Overall, we would come here again for the bargain prices, robust flavors, and kind service. However, we won't be expecting too much from the meat.

My score is more of a 3.5- ordered red curry- chicken, medium spice served with fried rice. I also had the side order of fresh rolls with chx. I think the red curry flavor was really good and spice was perfect *but* I've never had baby corn and green beans in my red curry!? Bleh. Baby corn screams Chinese to me.. As much as I eat thai food...these ingredients just seemed off- I mean even if they put more red or green pepper, fine. But, all that baby corn and green beans really could've been extra chicken. My only other gripe is that my order was via DoorDash delivery and idk if they purposely give you less rice when you order to go, but I literally have a half tub of red curry for tomorrow and barely any rice to go with it? The spring rolls w chicken was really fresh...def would order that again..

I'm an amateur when it comes to Thai food. But, I know what I like and when it comes to friendly and helpful service, clean dining room, and very enjoyable food, this place hit the target. My friend and I are picked Spice Thai after reading reviews of other Thai restaurants ion the area and upon entering explained that we were open to suggestions as we had only eaten Thai a few times. The waitress (owner?) was extremely helpful, customized seasonings to suit us and provided an great experience overall. We enjoyed Chicken Satay as a starter, then had Chicken Pad See Eew and Spicy Asparagus with Pork. Both were wonderful and we plan to return. read more

Awesome family-run hole in the wall joint that's a bit tough to find (sign says Thai Cafe instead of Spice Thai Cafe). Food was excellent. Very tasty and authentic. Panang and Green Curry were legit. They had no trouble accommodating our vegetarian dietary concerns. Food could have been a bit more hot but nothing to really disappoint. They offer delivery and are BYOB. read more

This place was pretty decent, but left me craving for more flavor. It is close to me, and I would order again if I was craving thai, and didnt feel like driving too far. They also messed up our order in the spice levels. I wanted a spicer level, and my wife wanted less spicy, but they gave us our dishes the other way around. Not a big deal really, but was hoping for better. read more

Spice Thai Cafe serves the best authentic Thai food in North Dallas area. Most thais in North Dallas drives here to taste the thai authentic menus that barely see in Texas. As a thai, I agree with the thais. The way they cook is more authentic. I always order stuffs which is not in the english menu. They have a seperated thai menu written in Thai. I recommend to try those on the thai menu. read more

Stopped in for lunch due to yelp reviews Don't know why it has 2 dollar signs I think only 1. 695 for lunch special choice of salad or soup. Rice is jasmine not instant and perfect. Had the ginger chicken and vegetables. Let me sub one veggie for another without charge or whining. The sticky rice and mango perfect. It is small and very clean. Probably do big take out business like most thai places. Loved it will return. read more

If you want to try Thai food that tastes like real Thai, here is where you should try. It is a small restaurant with casual environment. However, it doesn't bother how great their food is. It tastes strong, delicious, and unique. Even though they don't have many menu, each dish is worth trying. Try Yum Wun Sen or Pad Wun Sen. They made it the best of all Thai restaurants I have tried in Dallas. Lastly, price is such a selling point. It is kinda cheap compared to other Thai restaurants. I feel that it is pretty worth money with this yummy food. read more

This is a great hidden gem! I thought the food was authentic and tasty. The Cream Cheese Wontons were excellent. The Tom Yum soup was a good balance of spicy and sweet. Then we had the Pad See Eew and the Yellow Curry for our meal which were both great - with BYOB. We finished with the perfect desert = Sticky Rice with Mango. It is a nicely decorated, comfortable atmosphere and the owner was very friendly. This is just the kind of neighborhood restaurant we were looking for and will definitely go back. read more

I think this place is our top choice for thai cuisine and the people who run it are friendly. The quality of the ingredients is high and the preparation is solid. We usually start with a green papaya salad, which is crunchy and spicy-hot, but not sweet. Since the place was reopened as "Spice Thai Cafe", they've expanded the menu including some duck entrees. I have to say also that they have the best iced tea ( regular ) around that I've found, and I LOVE iced tea. We had a mango sticky rice for desert once that was pretty dreamy. read more

Authentic Thai food in Allen. The restaurant was renovated in 2013. This is one of those restaurants with a long list of delicious dishes in the menu, every visit you can try something new. Note that it is called Spice Thai for a reason, a "mild" dish here would be called "spicy hot" at a Tex-Mex restaurant. The owners are very nice people, always welcome you with a smile. read more

We selected this place for their online delivery and their reviews... boy were we wrong. Online states that the order will take between 45 minutes to an hour. Nothing wrong with that. But after 1.5 hours, my husband called. They said sorry and that the order was on it's way. In fact, they told my husband it was because they were too busy... Then I called after waiting another .5 hour.... Same guy answered... said it was on its way.. I don't know about you, but after my order has been "on its way" for that long. I want to take my money else where. read more

I've actually had many things here that I find unpleasant, but they have the greatest beef and broccoli ever. I think it's called pad broccoli but it comes smothered in this light brown sauce that is amazing. Make sure to ask for the chili sauce as well. Don't do delivery it's not nearly as good. read more

Our food took almost an hour to arrive even though there was only 3 tables there. The table next to us came in after us, but got their food almost same time as us bc they were busy with to-go orders and one of the owner was busy talking. Tom yum soup was decent. When the food did arrive, the crying tiger steaks were came out well done and drunken noodles were ok. Not worth the wait, I rather go to Noodle wave or Simply Thai off Main Street. read more

We were thrilled with our lunch here. Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao. Awesome Tom Kha soup came with it. It's significantly more convenient for take out for East Allen. We'll be doing this regularly. The food is definitely Southern Thai, which no other Thai places really does in Allen (or surrounding areas based on what I've tried). There is a Thai menu in Thai. Please join me in begging for it to be translated. One last comment. This is TOTALLY different from the sub par Thai that was here before. We delayed coming here because of a bad experience probably five years ago at a Thai BBQ place. Spice Thai Cafe is *nothing* like that old restaurant. I feel bad that I missed out on months of takeout by not trying the new place. read more

Great menu choices of authentic Thai dishes. New menu is amazing and the curry specialty dishes are the BEST! Owners are great people and always there to greet you with a smile. I order the curry and always ask for spicy, and man, it is SPICY. Great flavors, friendly service and excellent prices. We don't go anywhere else when looking for Thai food. My wife has her favorite dish the Pad Gra Prow with chicken and it is always perfect. Take out, delivery or dine-in. The best of all. read more

So let me say right away - the food is delicious! No complaints at all. However, we live just 5 minutes away and when we get delivery it takes an 1 - 11/2 hours for them to get here:( I think if they are going to offer delivery they really need to hire more drivers. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Tucked behind another larger Asian restaurant in the same shopping center, it probably doesn't get the attention it deserves. I've been in here several times and have always had prompt and courteous services along with great food. This place is small but rarely crowded (a surprise given how good the food is). read more

Went there Friday the 11th for dinner. Really disappointed their air conditioning not working. This is July in Texas. Food was pretty good but probably not go again if they can't keep their air conditioning going what else are they not keeping up. read more

All they have is lemon bars, cookies, banana pudding. I would like to see a daily pie special. ATMOSPHERE: This is a solid place, clean, good for kids, families, ok for a first date and coffee--definitely not romantic. It is always clean and neat. SERVICE: You order at the register and they bring it out to you, but it is pretty low-key. All team members are great. TIP: Pick up a freezer meal when you leave. Their casseroles and dips are great for emergencies or a night off.

One of the biggest disappointments was the cleanliness--most tables needed to be bussed, and at 2 p.m., it was difficult to find seating. With an empty restaurant and dirty tables. The patron might have to clear the table themselves simply to find a spot to sit. Despite that, I will return because the atmosphere is genuinely pleasant. The best part of dining here is how cool and comfortable the restaurant feels--great temperature for a relaxing meal. If I was a bum, I'd pay to drink tea and stay here all day. It's awesome! They are known for their sandwiches, homemade soups, fresh salad bar (and free ice cream) that won't destroy your wallet. For us it's a win. We were genuinely excited to rediscover this place. It's family-owned, they give back to our local community, keep everything looking clean, classy, and inviting. You could easily host a group event here for up to 50 people (maybe more). Super friendly staff. They took our order with a smile, happily gave me a sample of their new pickle pasta (yes, I was that person), and actually checked in to make sure we liked our food. Customer service exactly how it should be... which feels rare enough these days to deserve a standing ovation.

My only issue was the Chicken Pot Pie soup was lukewarm by the time I got it delivered from DoorDash so that may be due to the driver and not necessarily the restaurant. The salad had good portions of all the goodies like ham, turkey, tomatoes, egg, cheese etc. And I am a big Ranch dressing fan and their dressing was top notch and I wish I had more of it. I will definitely order from this restaurant again very soon since they have so many other food options to choose from.

I knew from the second we walked in, based on the list of made-in-house horchatas and agua frescas, that we were going to be in for a good meal. The menu was refreshingly unique compared to your basic street taco style setup or the usual Tex-Mex mashup of inauthentic tacos topped with shredded cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Our group of 3 adults, plus my 7 year old niece, shared a bowl of guacamole, which was phenomenal and came mixed with sunflower seeds and topped with crumbled cotija, alongside house-made corn tortilla chips. We also split an elote cup, which was great. My wife got a classic horchata, which was deliciously sweet (but not overly so) with a nice slight punch of cinnamon. I went with water but will definitely try an agua fresca next time. I ordered two tacos, both on house-made flour tortillas (I like corn tortillas but prefer flour when made fresh). The Pollo Azteca, with marinated grilled chicken tenderloin, mango pico, and a drizzle of crema, was phenomenal, and had more flavor than most chicken tacos I've had before. The star of my meal, however, was the Al Pastor, with adobo marinated pork tenderloin, diced pineapple, onions, and cilantro, with a slice of lime to squeeze on top. This was hands down one of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I was floored. I also tried my wife's Carne Asada tacos, which came topped with cilantro and onions, and a slice of lime, on their house made corn tortillas. The steak was incredibly flavorful, and the corn tortillas were tender without being chewy. We shared a side of rice and beans, which was good, but not the star of the show. The rice was your typical Mexican yellow rice, and the beans were more of a soupy whole-beans style, which reminded me of my Colombian mother-in-law's recipe. The staff makes four homemade salsas, ranging from mild to pretty spicy, and I loved all of them with the exception of the mild. My niece got the kids' cheese quesadilla, which was a simple melted Oaxaca cheese between a flour tortilla, served with rice, beans, and a little side of crema. The last thing I will rave about is the service. The staff was incredibly nice from the minute we walked in, pleasant to talk to when delivering our order and asking how everything was tasting, to the moment we bussed our tables and headed for the door. I cannot wait to come back again, and I hope they stay very busy until I'm able to do so, because I want this place to be around for a very long time!

They gave us a sopapilla to sample and now I regret not ordering more because they were so good! Also, they had the game on and that was a plus for my husband. Overall I highly recommend this place!

I've tried many Thai places, but NOTHING HAS EVER COME CLOSE to being as good as spice Thai cafe! Their food; GREAT. Their drinks; GREAT. The service; GREAT. Their atmosphere; GREAT. Everything about it; GREAT. I love how good the quality is for such a low price! I ain't joking my N words. THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB DIGGITY DONG.
