Their Pad Thai is good and Crab Fried Rice is delicious. We came back on Sunday to have lunch with the Family. Weekend Chef did the Crab Fried Rice wet. The Pad Thai is bland. I recommend to eat here during week days. The weekday Chef is better than the weekend Chef. Like a Cafeteria style setting. You order and pay by the counter and they bring your order to your table. I placed a to-go order and ordered the chicken yellow curry, Thai beef jerky, and pad Thai. I've been here before, and on a previous visit I had the chicken Thai basil along with sweet sticky rice and mango. The staff are friendly, and the quality of the food is consistent. The pad see lew was on the dry side which was disappointing. We did enjoy the shrimp wonton soup, that was the highlight of our meal. We also ordered the Pagnan curry ( which was not picture worthy) The curry was ok but not super flavorful. We also had the Thai basil fried rice was decent. Pretty good no-frills neighborhood Thai place in McKinney! There are a lot of takeout orders that happen here, though we dined in for dinner on a Friday (there were many tables available). We ordered the starter sampler, khao soi with chicken, and Tahn Thai spicy basil noodles with shrimp. The starter sampler was solid and also quite big for two people as it comes with chicken satay, fried shrimp rolls, spring rolls, and summer rolls -- definitely good value if you are wanting to try a bunch of different items! The spicy basil noodles were quite tasty and I loved the texture of the potato noodles, plus the flavor was delicious and the shrimps were cooked nicely. On the other hand, the khao soi was not bad but the crispy noodles on top aren't quite what I'm used to from a good bowl of khao soi. I discovered this local gem on an app. Have ordered here several times, and have eaten in once. The people are very nice and the food is delicious. You can eat in, or pop in and order takeout, as well as order on (at least one) popular food delivery app, and call in orders as well. My favorite so far has been the Pad Thai with spring rolls. If it's hard to find, look for the dental depot with the little train out front. This location is a couple doors down. read more

This is my favorite pad thai in McKinney! I always order the chicken pad thai and summer rolls with shrimp. Their items are less expensive than other thai places but their quality of food and service is incredible. The pad thai is very flavorful and they give generous portions so I always have leftovers for a whole other meal. Highly recommend!!! read more

Nice medium-sized Thai diner with enthusiastic & caring waitstaff. I was last customer of the day, but I wonder about the cook, or kitchen here so I'm holding at 4 stars for now. As I was waiting for Tom Yum soup and the house Tahn Thai salad, a total of 4 customers came to pickup their pre-ordered takeout meals. None were delivery drivers, the staff greeted them as customers. Meanwhile, the chicken breast slices in my soup were tough to bite & chew, and the lettuce in my salad was the bottom third of the head, mostly yellow & bitter, and big slices of the root. It has been 10 years since something like this has happened to one of my meals. Last thing you want is an upset chef forced to take you as last customer. There were 4 tables of diners when I arrived, looks like Tahn Thai has a local following, but I don't live on this side of Dallas Metro. Some day, I will try lunch hour. read more

Staff are very friendly and the service was quick in terms of serving our food . I wanted Tom yum soup and it didn't disappoint. My husband ordered the cashew chicken , he devoured the whole place , he said the taste reminded him of Thailand. We had sweet sticky rice for dessert . For service I waited about 7 minutes for someone to come to the counter. No one else in there. Door makes a huge noise when you enter. I allow they could have been in the restroom. Counter service was rude and even mocking. Really? And why? Strange. Food was served barely warm. Seemed like some of it was cold, strange again. My daughter and I came for dinner on a Friday evening and it was immediately clear we'd stumbled upon a very popular place. The interior is clean and bright and orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your seat. Alcohol is not on the menu and sodas are served in cans. We ordered the green curry with chicken and house fried rice and were blown away by the flavor and quality of the food. 1st thing I normally order from a Thai restaurant is the shrimp pad Thai (#44, $12.95). If they don't get it right, I don't bother going there a second time. Not something I will order again. A business associate ordered the #41 chicken pineapple cashew fried rice ($13.95). He says he had betters one. I sampled it, it was just ok. It wasn't bad. In fairness it isn't something I would normally order so I can't compare. We shared the tom yum soup bowl (#10, $10.95). We both liked it. I didn't take pictures but the portions I thought were pretty sizable. You have to go to the cashier at the front to order and pay for your food. read more

This Thai restaurant is located in a new strip mall with plenty of free parking in front. The interior was clean and nicely decorated, but it can become loud inside. The service was very helpful. We tried the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and yellow curry fried rice, and both were delicious! For $70 (including tip) we got 3 entrees, the very large Tahn Thai sampler & a side of (very rich) peanut sauce. Entrees were huge, we'll all be having leftovers tomorrow.
