This is my favorite street taco place but I wished they had queso. Mezateno was my favorite then pork belly then wagyu. They have a good happy hour special but it's only on the cheaper cuts. Service was super quick & friendly!

Loved the ambiance, service and food! This place has a nice energy and vibe. Service was very friendly. We tried five different types of tacos, all were perfection! My fav was Baja shrimp. We only tried the mild red and green tomatillo salsas which were packed with flavor. We happened to go on a Tuesday, so got their Taco-Tuesday pricing, which was great! I wish this place was a bit closer to where we live, so we could go every week...

On our first night in Texas, we shared a variety of tacos, guacamole, chips, and sauces. First, let me tell you that guacamole was addicting. It was so good and I couldn't stop eating it. Then, the variety of tacos was mind blowing. They had pork belly tacos, wagyu beef tacos, shrimp tacos, carnitas tacos, lengua tacos, and Al pastor tacos. They were all really tasty and delicious. The portion size was really good too. They gave you a lot of meat in your taco. Service was great. Our order was ready when we arrived. I can't speak to the ambiance, because I did not go to pick up the food. But, I can say that the food tastes great, it was packed well, and we demolished our order. I would definitely go back when I am in the area.

This taco swore it was mahi mahi, but it's rocking salmon's tan, speaking fluent salmon, and honestly I think it's catfishing me.

Really enjoyed our visit here. We started with the fundito queso, which was rich and tasty. The asada taco was the standout, super flavorful. The shrimp taco was good too. The fish taco seemed more like salmon (it was also pink) than mahi, but still tasted fine. The al pastor didn't have much flavor, but the fresh flour tortillas were a nice touch. I'd love to see fresh corn tortillas offered as well. Ask for the red and green salsas, they're great! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place felt clean. The big mural on the wall is really eye-catching and well done. Overall, a solid 3.5-star spot that I'm happy to round up to 4. Looking forward to coming back.

WOW! I searched for local lunch specials and this one caught my eye.. $10.99 for three tacos, rice and beans.. steal! They also a daily flavor for margaritas so I elected to go try them out on a Wednesday because I'm a sucker for guava. It was pretty busy inside which I took for a good sign. The staff I encountered were all friendly and professional, I especially appreciate how on the ball they were with keeping the restaurant clean even during a lunch rush. I ended up ordering 1 carne asada, 1 baja bang shrimp, and 1 pollo azteca taco. I can't even tell you which one was my favorite because they were all so delicious and flavorful. The beans and rice tasted fresh and on point. My guava margarita ($7.49) with a sugar rim was strong and insanely yummy. This spot will be a regular one for me! :)

We rolled in on a Tuesday. Tacos were $3.25 each (except the fancy specialty ones). * Al Pastor: not fatty at all just pure flavor. * Pollo Azteca: juicy, bold, and flavorful . * Baja Shrimp: crispy but not greasy and packed with flavor. To wash it down, I had a strawberry mojito on happy hour for $8.99 because tacos and mojitos go perfect together! The staff? Super friendly. The restaurant is very clean and everything in place. And yes, even the restrooms. We'll definitely be back!

The menu is FULL of great choices. Meat. Fish. Chicken. Pork. Several varieties of tacos in each category. Then a breakfast, kids and vegan selections. Amazing variety. Made so fresh and so tasty and so fast! Order at the counter and a runner brings to table - and checks back later. Super fresh. The restaurant seats so many ppl! Low tops. High tops. Bar seating. The food prep line is super clean and well run. Ingredients are thoughtful and very well matched to food. They have beer and limited liquor too! And order counter employees are friendly and efficient. Cafe is incredibly clean. A 10/10 experience!

What I don't understand about this place is why there isn't a long line out the door. This is by far the best taco spot my husband and I have ever been to. Carne Asada Tacos: 11 out of 10 Wagyu Carne Asada Taco: 8 out of 10 Baja Bang Shrimp Taco: 10 out of 10 Mahi-Mahi Taco: 10 out of 10 Carnitas Taco: 10 out of 10 The only down side, but didn't affect my rating because the tacos were amazing, was the guacamole. I didn't realize that their guac was loaded with cotija cheese and I can't have cheese so I went to the front to see if they can make me a new guac. They happily said they would give me a new one without cheese but you can tell that they just scooped the cheese out the old one and gave it back. (There was the cheese on the side of the guac holder) They should pay more attention for people with allergies because this being anyone else they could have spazzed out. Other than that, this place deserves all the hype they can get!

I admit I am a bit of a taco snob. That being said, this place is legit. Modern Latino feel, counter service but friendly service nonetheless. Fillings are great. Had the asada, bang-bang shrimp, pork belly and chicken Azteca. Full of flavor with variety of home made salsas. Rita's are delicious-top shelf was a favorite. Suggestions to make this a 5-star review: better corn tortillas worthy of the filling and roasted corn for the elote.

The tables and floors are dirty with flakes of food. Just down right dirty. Ugh. Not sure when they ever wipe them down, if ever. Of all the tables on several visits I couldn't find a clean table to sit and eat. It's a taqueria? But, still offer table seating. I'm so confused. Not the usual spotless Mexican kitchen. The floors are dirty. Ugh. Crumbs all over the floor and it's sticky. I think most folks use Uber Eats. That's why they don't have a standard inside. Usually, kids, and I mean kids 16 and younger are running the counter and kitchen. The bottles are never wiped down. Caked on food on ketchup, green sauce, and red sauce bottles. Thus far I've not gotten sick. They don't speak English, but then I don't speak Spanish. So it's a wash! I'll probably go back. And pray every time I don't get sick. Thus far I've dodged the bullet! I'd like to support a small business. However, the prices are stupid crazy! Salsa and chips are $5.50. Refills are $1 each time for salsa. Pay up front too. Then they serve you. Don't expect refills either you have to pay first. ( I still leave a tip, but probably shouldn't). Food is always decent! Just know when eating in, it's not up to expectations as a consumer. Make your own judgments. Sticking to Uber eats may be your best bet! That way you don't see what really goes on inside this establishment. June-September 2024

Found it on Yelp (thanks y'all) and with the high ratings, I knew I was in for a treat. The "restaurant" is really just a window in the back corner inside the convenience store, with a small table and a few stools for anyone "eating in". Nothing quite matches the experience of sitting on a wobbly stool watching people buy cigarettes and lotto tickets while eating bomb tacos, honestly. I got myself 4 tacos, and I could've eaten more as they were SO good. I had 2 steak tacos, one chicken with jalapeño, and one that was chorizo and beef. The steak ones were my favorite. Here is the review with the burger worked in…read more --- I spent today at Brisket School at Vaqueros BBQ, and it was my Father's Day gift. The class was taught by the great Trey Sanchez. Let me start with the most important thing I can tell you. If you have never eaten at Vaqueros, you are missing out. Vaqueros and Hutchins are the two best BBQ joints in Collin County. But Vaqueros has a twist. Their barbecue is competition grade, and they also happen to run one of the Top 50 taco spots in the entire state. Do not take my word for it. Ask Texas Monthly. Want to know why the tacos are that good? It is the brisket. Trey uses every last ounce of it. The trimmings end up in the sausage, the burgers, the tacos, and the consomé de res. They go into the tallow too, and if you ever order the fries, you will understand. You will want more. His suadero tacos are something special, and that is just the beginning of the menu. Speaking of burgers, do not skip his. It is outstanding, and it is made with, if you guessed brisket, you would be right. So here is my advice. If you are thinking about wandering next door to Village Burger Bar, stop. Get a burger from Trey instead. His beef is ground fresh daily, and the pickles and the mustard are made in house. It is in a different league. Now the class itself. What Trey taught me about trimming a brisket, treating it like a steak, seasoning it, and wrapping it, those are lessons any wannabe pitmaster will cherish for life. And here is the part nobody warns you about. Trey is a phenomenal storyteller. He knows everyone in the Texas barbecue world, and his stories alone are worth the price of admission. Let us talk about the food. Do you love barbecue? Vaqueros has it. Brisket, ribs, turkey, and two kinds of sausage, and every one of them is excellent. The smoked pork carnitas are pure heaven. Looking for something a little different? Get the brisket nachos. They come loaded with chopped brisket, queso, beans, pico, and all the fixings. Fifteen dollars. You can feed a family of four with one order. They have beer, margaritas, and a bourbon lemonade that is genuinely fantastic. I will say it one more time. You are missing out if you have not been. Tell him Brian sent you.

Thankfully, there was plenty of shade from umbrellas, and it was a great spot for people-watching with lots of foot traffic passing by. Now for the important part--the BBQ. My son and I split the two-meat plate with brisket, pork ribs, mac and cheese, and beans. The brisket was legit--moist, flavorful, and with a nice bark, although I would have liked it a little crispier. The pork ribs were just okay; they were a bit on the dry side. That said, their BBQ sauce was excellent. I'm usually not one to sauce good ribs, but in this case it definitely elevated them. The mac and cheese was probably the biggest surprise. It was rich and gooey, topped with feta, chives, and shredded cheddar. Not a combination I would have expected--or ordered--but somehow it really worked. The only real disappointment was the beans. They arrived cold and were a bit bland, especially by Texas BBQ standards. Overall, it was a solid 4-star experience. The brisket alone is worth trying, and I'd definitely come back to work my way through more of the menu.
