Was referred here by a Southwest flight attendant who said this is her fave in the twin cities. Being Thai, I was excited to try this and called in my order for pick up around 12:30pm. The restaurant had 2 groups dining-in which was odd given the lunch hour. My food was being prepared so I waited and was greeted by a friendly hostess. Great service and hospitality. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. Portion size was good however the noodles were bathing in a pool of sauce. The noodles were rather thick, not what I'm used to for pad see Ew. They were generous with the chicken but only a few pieces of broccoli. Traditionally, this is served w Chinese broccoli, however if you want that, it's $2-3 extra. So disappointed in this place. Ordered the lunch special pad Thai and drunken noodles. The noodles tasted undercooked yet soggy. Like there was too much raw noodle flavor. It definitely needed more sauce. The noodles were all stuck together. It came with a spring roll and I've never had a spring roll that was bad until now. The peanut sauce that came with it tasted smoky which was really weird. The drunken noodles sauce was not good either, it was missing a lot of sauce so it was mostly bland noodles. Decided to stop here while we were on our way to pick up kids at Valley Fair, especially since hubby was craving something with peppers and some spice. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. My husband ordered the Pad Mixed vegetables and it looked great- he said the veggies were nice and crispy, but needed to add a little hoisin and sriracha for more flavor. The noodle salad was great! Loved the sweet, vinegar-y dressing, and the pork and shrimp were flavorful and tender. My daughter ordered the Thom Kha Gai Coconut soup and said it was really good. This is a decent place. The area is nice and cozy, and looks nice. The server we had was very kind. She had a smile on her face the whole time, and always gave off that warm feeling. The food was also pretty good. The curry we got was flavorful and rich, but the other dish we got was the opposite. The pad se ewe we ordered was bland and stale. It had no taste so we had to eat it with the curry. What was concerning was that there was almost no one there and still they took a pretty decently long time to come. You're able to select your spice level to every dish! I think that's very unique. Customer service was genuine and helpful. Atmosphere was quiet. The decor and choice of music contradicts the type of food imo. They had Classic Rock music playing, Zebra and clay statue paintings, but had chop sticks on the table instead of silverware and boba tea. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the service, food, and environment. Waiter recommended me the Pad See Ewe - Mild spice because I'm on a low spice diet for the next few months. The worst Thai Food ever My Massaman Curry the Potatoes were spoiled and chicken were super dried so I tossed the whole container in the trash , Tofu Tom Yum soup with full of mushrooms that's been out in the air too long so they were black black and it wasn't sour enough to qualify as Tom Yum, it's more like Tom Yuk, and last item was Chicken Satay dried like an old pair of shoes, those 2 sauces that came with it were not delicious at all ... wasted my $50 read more

My sister, nephew, son, and I tried to go to Sambosa (In the same mall - I love the place), but they were closed. So, we came to Spice instead. My husband has come here for lunch meetings before, but I have never been. We have a favorite Thai restaurant located in Apple Valley, so this was really a choice of convenience. My sister and I both ordered the Pad Thai - I chose pork and mild (I was sharing with my son), and she chose chicken and medium. My nephew ordered Pho. We also shared an order of Chicken Satay. The food was okay, but when I choose a Thai restaurant in the future, this won't be my first choice. The Pad Thai was a little sweet with longer noodles, they mixed up the spice levels on our orders, and both the meats were either tough or dry. The Pho (I know, Pho is Vietnamese not Thai) - I didn't taste it, but he said it was good - didn't come with any sauces (sriracha, hoisin) and it had imitation lobster in it. Solid place with good portions and good lunch specials! The chicken of Thai was what you would expect and my favorite part was they didn't skimp on chicken. We regularly get carry out from Spice. Menu choices are plentiful, food is outstanding with very generous portions. We typically get two meals out of each entree - dinner the night we get it and lunch the next day. Prices, in comparison to other good Thai restaurants are very reasonable. One note - dining in isn't great - the seating area is very dated and the chairs are flimsy and uncomfortable. Stick with carry out and you can't go wrong. read more

One of my favorite thai restaurants with an incredibly tasty green curry. Deep fried tofu is a house fave and the spice levels are excellent. A fifth star would be earned if there were better ratios of protein in each serving. The staff has also turned over several times over the years creating a bit of instability in service time and consistency. Still a favorite though and i appreciate that they've outlasted all of the other attempts at competition in the neighboring strip mall. read more

Spice thai is a great restaurant if you're new to thai food. If you know what thai food is like, you'll probably the person who gives it a one or two star rating. We ordered chicken Satay, Red curry and cashew chicken. The cashew chicken and curry were ordered "thai hot". Amazingly management doesn't know how hot "thai hot" is supposed to be. It was the blandest and mildest food ever! Moreover the chicken was also very chewy and poor texture. Satay is normally grilled, I am sure the version they sell was fried. This was probably the worst Thai food I've ever had, and that's saying something because I eat a lot of Thai food! We ordered the cashew chicken and beef Phad Thai. The meat in both dishes was disgusting- cheap, chewy meat with bad flavor. The phad Thai tasted like bad spaghetti- very tomatoey with little other flavors. It DID NOT taste like phad Thai at all. The cashew chicken consisted of the terrible low quality chicken that was hard to chew, water chestnuts and a ton of mushrooms. It barely resembled the cashew chicken I've come to love at other Thai restaurants. No offense to the employees who work there, they were great. This is strictly about the food that was served. This is the best Thai restaurant! I love both the pad thai and pad woon sen. I add shrimp to both.

It's nice to find a Thai place with curries that are vegan by default! (Of course order with veggies, tofu or mock duck). Most Thai restaurants use pre made curry pastes that contain shrimp. not this place! The staff here is also phenomenal. We have never had a bad experience here. The peanut sauce that comes with their fresh spring rolls is vegan as well (which we have found is a rarity among peanut sauces) and is made in house! Now only if they'll share their recipe. My only complaint is that I wish the curries came with more veggies, but for an additional charge you can add more. read more

This pad Thai is not traditional and and missing the sweet, salty, sour balance. It was mostly salty. Skip the pad Thai. Also ordered the fried Wallace with spicy chili sauce. It was too salty and the fish was teeny, nit worth $16. I loved the sticky rice with custard. That was excellent! The service was also very good. read more

Well I'm stuck between giving it a four and three stars. I used to LOVE this place especially during lunch. But it just seems like the taste changed in the items. The cream cheese puffs are still fabulous with the yummy sauce. But the Pad Thai and the Boba seems different. The Boba wasn't so frozen the many times I've gotten it over the years and the Pad Thai was lacking something. I also ordered the veggies plate for the first time here and it was not good at all. Lots of variety of veggies but very bland. I think all they did was cool it in some oil for a bit. Usually at these Thai places it's cooked in an oyster or sweet sauce but not here. Oh Dang! The fact that I haven't written a review for this place means I have been trying to keep it a secret. Initially, I was hesistant to try this place because so many people raved about it and I have been utterly disappointed on people's top pick when it comes to Thai. I love Thai food so I am generally more picky than the average Joe. I have only been here for lunch but their lunch specials are enough to keep me coming back. I order the same thing every time (L7 with chicken, white rice, crispy fried roll, and Thai Hot). Since I only dine in, I am greeted with ice water, straw, and a lemon. My bill is always $9.42. (If it inflates one penny, I am breaking up with this place) The L7 is the Thai curry of the day. (Mon/Fri - Red, Tue/Thur - Green, Wed - Yellow). I have been on every day of the week and they all are amazing! The crispy spring roll is worth $9 alone. It is a good portion size. The entire dish always look like a small amount, but once I start eating I realize the serving size is adequate, if not plentiful. Also, If you are in a rush, this is the only place that I know of that can have you in and out in 30-45 minutes. This is including your eating time. read more

This place has an amazing take-out lunch menu. It includes an entrée, with appetizer for $8.99. Typically, I have ordered Pad Broccoli, Pad Thai, Pad See Ewe or Gaeng Curry meals. All have been consistent and taste the same each time and they load in the vegetables (which I prefer). I have decided to get more and more brave each time I go regarding spice level! I am now up to 3 stars, which is hot, and am willing to try 4 stars, Thai Hot, next time. There is a bit of sweetness with all the meals, which seems to cut down on all the heat for me. I always get the 2 cream puffs as my side. They are pretty yummy, which reads like a 6/10 on my cream cheese puff scale. I have to say there is adequate amounts of filling, compared to the wrapper. Spice never disappoints after a long day at work. I love their bold and traditional flavors. Today, I ordered the shrimp tom yum soup. The flavor was excellent; just the right amount of spiciness that countered balanced the sour lemon-like taste in the soup. Another must get is the chicken laab. Not only is it healthy (in my opinion; chicken and spices), it is also gluten free. You get a dish of nicely flavored ground chicken meat with veggies. This is a nice take on lettuce wraps or even chips and dip (with the cucumber as the chip and the laab as the dip). You'll have a great bite, whichever your preference may be. Tip: I always order mild spice and ask for the spice tray while dining. This is the only way to go since you'll try the true flavors of each dish, and then you're able to modify it to your liking. Sadly after eating here just once I decide that I will never be returning to Spice Thai Cuisine. The only good thing about Spice Thai Cuisine is they have great lunch deals. To bad you could not pay me to eat here. I love my Thai food very spicy, so when I told the waiter I wanted it as spicy as possible he asked me if I was sure. After getting my main course and taking one bite I was shocked to find that their food had not one bit of flavor. I thought that maybe it was just my dish so I tried some of the other dishes the people in my party got, and they tasted the exact same. Now if the food was just not spicy I would have been ok, but this food had no flavor whatsoever. There is nothing special about this restaurant, and it shocks me that it was voted one of Twin city's best. I will not be returning to Spice Thai Cuisine and I encourage everyone to give their business to a Thai restaurant that deserves to stay open but not this one. Menu was not like most restaurant where they only have description, it had pictures as well as description. Amazing price and amazing high quality of Thai foods. Services were excellent, fast and most friendly as compared to any of the restaurants I have been in the past.
