My review is in regards to the buffet. Most dishes were good for small town Minnesota. They had a delicious pork w/garlic sauce with onion, broccoli, and a nice zippy sauce. This was good. I enjoyed their cream cheese wontons. I tried the walnut shrimp others raved about, but it was too sweet for me. Nothing negative about it, but its not my cup of tea. Hot and sour soup was terrible--I feel like the warmer was turned on too high and made the broth pretty much liquid. Nothing hot and sour about it at all. Fried rice used large pieces of rice and I didn't feel they stirred much soy sauce into it... Service was great--I came in towards the end of the day--around 8 PM. I didn't expect them to do this--but they made a batch of fresh egg rolls and wontons, even though they likely would go uneaten. I tried to eat my share of the appetizers. The older lady functioning as my waitress made sure my teacup stayed full. Its definitely better than the place we have in Belle Plaine, so I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Straight trash. Buffet sucks and if you order food they take the old stuff from the buffet and box that up for your order. The kitchen is fucking gross. And the restaurant is just a sticky mess. I had not tried this restaurant since moving to the area and decided to order one evening. It was great! I ordered a shrimp entree and it was packaged in a plastic reusable container and it was hot and delicious! The lady at the window was friendly and well spoken. It looked very clean. I will be back soon to try another item on their large menu! read more

Empire Wok is a regular for our family. We mostly (like 90% of the time) do "take out" because we live in town. Preparation is fast. Portions are generous. Consistently great tasting. Family owned business, and the staff are always friendly. Our family favorites are the Pork Fried Rice, Pork LoMein, and Chicken Chow Mein. read more

I have given this place a few chances just hoping that the cooks may have been off their game on that particular day, but alas...the food here is absolute garbage. Most recently I ordered walnut shrimp, with cream cheese wontons, beef lomein and fried rice. The lomein and fried rice were alright, nothing special but they weren't bad. The wontons were, and always have been a disaster, some have no cream cheese in them at all, they are stretched, lack any uniformity and just seem to reflect the lack of caring that this establishment shows for its food. Now, on to the walnut shrimp...Let me start with my most obvious problem, there were no walnuts! this was a terrible dish, I normally love how the sweet and savory come together in walnut shrimp but this literally tasted like fried shrimp covered in a slightly (I cant stress the slightly part enough) sweetened mayonaise, it was absolutely terrible. On that subject, don't expect to find any seasame seeds on the seasame chicken or pecans in the pecan chicken. This place has an absolute disregard for food, this is clearly just an establishment that is a means to an end to its owners. Please, do yourselves a favor, find someone who respects food to run your kitchen and don't sell food that you wouldn't eat. I will be going to Chaska from now on to get my Chinese/asian food as this place is absolutely unworthy of mine or anyone elses money. read more

My husband and I live in Belle Plaine and don't care much for the only Chinese place there so we decided to try empire wok. We were impressed. It was really good and the service was great. We love EW! We moved to Jordan a year ago and were pleasantly surprised tip find a Chinese place in town. Then we were even more surprised when we really liked enjoyed it too! We mostly do take-out buffet (about once a month) but have eaten in twice. The peanut chicken, walnut shrimp and sesame chicken are our favorites but its all good. My husband loves the egg rolls. This family owned restaurant is definitely worth the stop. I was on my way to visit my family in New Prague, when i passed this restaurant, and decided to stop for a bite. I came in to an empty buffet (because i think i came in at an off hour), but upon my entry the man who greeted me filled up the buffet within 10 mins. The is is a very sad excuse for a Chinese restaurant. Anyone who has given this restaurant anything but a poor review has never tasted real Chinese food. The boneless ribs , one of my all time favorites, are 50 percent fat. Every thing else I've tried there is mediocre at best. And the portions are tiny. Where every other Chinese restaurant's containers are bursting at the seams, these have an inch of empty space at the top of them. Please save your money, and find another restaurant to spend your money at. I love Chinese food, and that is my motivation to tell you to save your money and find a different restaurant. read more

Empire wok = garbage. The day was a Wednesday and my buddy Shrosanki and I stopped in for a hot meal. Upon getting seated as the only people in the place, a 12 year old server waited on us. We got our food from the buffet, which looked like it had all been sitting out for a minimum of 13 hours. Each of our selections tasted like trash. The chicken tasted like it had feces in it. We wanted to at least wash down this trash with some soda but the soda was flat as shit. A horrifying experience. There were also an army of children washing dishes in the back.
