So after my little natural walk at nearby Roswell Mill. I was hungry. Now I was first gonna visit a nearby burger spot. But I instead opened up Google maps. This BBQ spot caught my eye. Man it turned out to be a wonderful choice. I settled on a 2 meat combo plate. I chose brisket and turkey. My 2 sides were collard greens and hash brown casserole. Lets talk about that food. The turkey was moist, not dried out. The brisket was also moist and not tried out. I could literly cut it with my fork. Them Collard greens. Let me tell you. Usually I have to add pepper sauce. However there was no need to. They had the perfect amount of spice added to them. Another bonus. There was plenty of left over pot liquor ( juice) . I drank it up. The hashbrown casserole was perfect, Nice and cheesy. But the best part. While the meal all to gather was around $35. The most important fact was, I walked away full. To me this is where BBQ restaurants fall short in my opinion. You pay alot of money and still be hungry. I will also add this. Usually im not a big fan of BBQ sauces. I feel like good BBQ should stand alone , no sauce. However one of their sauces seemed to be a vinegar based sauce, witch i tend to like. The spicy one wasn't bad either though. Cute little venue in downtown Roswell. Parking is a little tight . There are seats inside and a little area outside with a live band (we chose inside bc the pit was smoking and it was a little too much for us). It's one of those places that you have to place your order and get a number. When your food is ready, they will bring it out to your table. We had 2 salads and a bbq sandwich. One salad had pulled pork and the other brisket. Both were good and filling. The sandwich only came with a bag of lays chips. We would have preferred to swap for a side, but that was an up charge. So spiced rice is a pretty good spot. If you're looking for something barbecue related. I'm going to be 100% honest, I've actually never gotten barbecue from there before though. The majority of times that I go I would go and pick up breakfast sandwiches because their sandwiches are really good! There's free parking so you don't have to worry about that. It's an unwarkable area so not super far off. You can actually walk along a bunch of other restaurants and establishments as well, different restaurants and bars. You can kind of bar hop around the area, or at least there's not far of a drive if you want to find something else after you finish eating. They're open early so I appreciate that. I used to live in the area so I used to go here bright and early first thing to get a couple of breakfast sandwiches before I started work. Sometimes you don't have places that actually are open first thing in the morning, especially barbecue places. Because that seems odd, but not for them. Every sandwich I've had has been very feeling and actually kind of heavy. You don't need a lot to get full. And I would probably put this on the fact that the biscuits that they have are super heavy and fluffy. They are solid and they will fill you up! You can get different things like sausage or brisket inside of the biscuits but all the biscuits that I've had, have been really good. I got the breakfast plate with eggs over medium, brisket, hash browns, toast, and a fried donut. Everything came out perfectly, quickly, and portions were generous for $18 and some change. The atmosphere is very much locals favorite barbecue spot, and the staff are all friendly. I came around 10:30-11 am on a Sunday for brunch and was DELIGHTED that it wasn't packed. And a half rack of ribs $20 the ribs were ok, they were tender but not super flavorful although you could visibly see maybe pepper or something on them They have 2 bbq sauces and they taste exactly the same. One is hot & one said #3 whatever that means. Our family chooses to eat here on many Sundays. The bbq is excellent, probably the best we've had in the Atlanta area. Not a fancy venue, but wow, the food is to crave--best fried okra, best baked beans, best brisket, wonderful, flavorful hash brown casserole, and very tender barbecue. The staff is friendly, and if you want take-out, you can order to go. We just mostly prefer to sit right there and ENJOY! We have also ordered in larger quantities for parties. For some reason, I was on a BBQ kick after my trip back from Asheville and I was in the area after servicing my car in Roswell. We decided to stop in for lunch instead of waiting at the dealership. We ordered the brisket melt and a 1/4 rack of ribs with 2 sides to share. And we couldn't leave out the banana pudding. Overall, everything really just hit the spot. The brisket melt was a tall stack of meaty goodness - and the thick and crispy onion ring in the sandwich was really just the cherry on top! The ribs were nice and saucy - and we enjoyed our sides of hash brown casserole and corn soufflé. Spiced Right Ribhouse has opened a second BBQ operation in Milton (Crabapple). It is apparently a partnership of some kind with the new Six Bridges Brewing. This is from the SBB's Yelp site: "Six Bridges Brewing partnered with Spiced Right Ribhouse to provide great beer and great BBQ in one great place." That's a worthy concept as they are next door to each other in a nice new commercial building. However, in a recent Yelp review I complimented SBB on their brews - but was fairly critical of the food from SRR. I wish both businesses success and hope that SRR can improve their food quality issues that I noted in my review of SBB. read more

THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH EVER. I don't want to overhype their fried chicken sandwich but I can't help it. I honestly have to force myself not to eat the fried chicken sandwich every week. But I usually cave. My niece literally cried the first time I took her there and she took a bite. I'm not kidding. Huge chicken breast - fried to perfection on a puffy bun with slaw, pickles and chipotle mayo. It's heavenly. Their bbq is always awesome too - they don't skimp on quality meat and it's always perfectly smoky and delicious. But their chicken sandwich has changed me. It's made me a better person. I send my customers there all the time and I probably sound like a crazy person when I talk about the fried chicken sandwich. The people are great too. Super solid good people that care and make friggin delicious food. Never disappoints. It's hard to see an old friend fade away. As someone who has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the perfect barbecue, my first vsits to SR were back when they were on the east side if I85. Great food and a Brunswik stew on par with the then legenadary Harold's down by the prison. They sold and the new owners tried to cut cost corners and made it a buffet with a lot of good banana pudding. That didn't work and the next thing I knew they traveled across the metro ending up in Roswell with yet again new ownership. Was great for a time, but no longer. You have to be more than a little suspicious when the food you just orered at the counter to a guy, arrives at your table before even you're firmly seated. Served in literally in less than three minutes. The explanation? Why? How? The answer: The food is plated in advance. Plated (the term used by the guy taking our order) before you even came through the door, much less knew what you wanted. So that's why Spiced Right's corn souffle, which used to be one of their great side dishes, comes out in a little container with the cnsistency of almost ready-to-be-poured concrete and the serving more than a lttle burned around the edges. Brunswik stew? Watery, not great. The fries, still among the best in the city. The ribs on our combo order had a nice bark (good rub) but the meat fell off the bone as we picked one up. How does that happen? Likely either overcooked in an oven, finished over the grill and then left waiting to be ordered under a too warm heat lamp, or par boiled before being put on the grill and then under the warmer, or being left over from the day before and cooking again under the lamp. In any instance, as real barbecue folks know, Ribs are to be eaten, bitten off the bone, not like stew meat with a fork, which is pretty much how the dollop of brisket on our combo plate order came. Dull, no flavor, could have come from a roast rather than as a low and slow cooked brisket. The pulled pork the guy across the able had was slightly better. Sauces? Two. Table sauce is a little on the thin side (not a personal preference) the "hot" tastes much like the regular with flakes of pepper added. Used to be the Spiced ight folks would fire up the smoker they have out on the edge of the parking lot and the hickory smoke wafting into traffic would always lure a few folks in for some 'cue. Glad they no lnger do that. Given how the bottom asppears to have fallen out, most folks would likeld be disappointed. One star in the hopes the current Spiced Right folks (whoever they may be) will go back to basics and get things Right again. read more

The weather was perfect so I sat outside which faces a busy street, and the fumes from cars passing by were a bit much at times, so expect to hold your breath between bites. The brisket was amazing, unfortnately the biscuit doesn't hold up well so make sure you have a fork and knife handy. The hash brown casserole was amazing, and my favorite of all I ordered.
