Had Carne BBQ brisket last night. A lot of it. Quite enjoyable. Very flavorful bark and moist, delicious meat.

When I got to Sean's large, shiny and modern trailer, and ordered, he asked me whether I'd like it from the flat or point.

Check the Alpharetta Food Truck Alley's Facebook page for the latest operating hours and food truck lineups. We visited this past Thursday (9/5) and the alley was packed with people. This apparently is the place to be in Alpharetta. I counted about 10-12 food trucks. More than I expected. Some of the trucks included: Freckled & Blue - modern Southern A Movable Feast - French crepes The Pup Truck - hot dogs King of Pops - gourmet popsicles Happy Belly - natural foods Champion Cheesesteaks Mighty Meatballs Yoli's Street Food - Cuban sandwiches Most of the trucks were lined up on Old Roswell St. (the "alley") between Roswell St. and Milton Ave. There were a lot of people and a lot of activity going on. There were two separate bands performing live music. There was a large inflatable bounce house for kids to play in. There was a large picnic area underneath the shade of giant trees. All the spots were taken. Various free parking is located throughout downtown Alpharetta. It's all about finding a spot. If you're lucky, you can find a spot in the parking lot directly behind the food truck alley. There's also a free public parking lot off of Roswell St. Old Roswell St. feeds directly into this lot from the east. Signs to this "public parking" lot are well marked. You can definitely tell you're in the suburbs here. There are a plethora of families with kids. There are also several teenagers, some accompanied by parents, some not. Like other food truck parks, this place is dog-friendly. I saw at least 2 Alpharetta police officers on-duty at the event. One of the officers was assisting people with parking. I don't think there are adequate trash/recycle bins here. The trash cans that we used were overflowing with trash. Also, the only restrooms available were two porta potties located next to some smelly dumpsters. Awesome. At least each porta pottie came equipped with hand sanitizer. Overall, I liked the Alpharetta Food Truck Alley. It's certainly nice and convenient for the residents of Alpharetta to be able to experience food trucks from all over Atlanta in their own back yard. However, if you don't live in or nearby Alpharetta, it's not worth the drive because these same food trucks can often be found at the Atlanta Food Truck Park on Howell Mill Rd. or at other food truck meetups around the city. Tip: B.Y.O.B. (even if it's just water) so you don't to shell out extra money for overpriced beverages.

The best idea in the world is to have a Food Truck Alley once a week in a city! I just love it!…read moreThere were about 10 trucks here including a tent for the restaurant nearby called Smokejack BBQ. Since Smokejack BBQ is an actual restaurant, I figured we can go anytime so I didn't walk over to their tent. I quickly learned that was a mistake because their food looked the best with nicely sized portions at great prices. I will definitely be stopping by the next time I'm there! I tried a Chicken Sandwich called the "Not-So-Ordinary Chicken Sandwich" from Happy Belly. As the description sounded amazing, my actual sandwich was extremely disappointing. It included a small round chicken breast, gouda cheese, couple leaves of Arugula, and a special sauce. To be honest, most of the sandwich was Ciabatta Bread. For $8.50, I could've gotten better but I don't blame the event! I would definitely be back to try a different food truck since I love food trucks!

When served the item had literally 1 cherry, charging $1 extra for toppings is criminal when given a single cherry on top, regardless of the size ordered. We also got the flavor of the month, Fluffernutter Whitser with hot fudge (again, $1 extra) and it didn't come as ordered. Definitely a disappointing experience, hopefully this was just a one off bad visit.

My favorite flavor of the day is Penguin Tracks (vanilla custard with brownie bites, fudge, and caramel swirls), and I add cookie dough bites. I really appreciate how generous they are with the toppings! The Mini Whitser ($5.25) is the perfect size. The Small ($6.25) is actually huge and is a good size for sharing if you and a friend want the same flavor. Plenty of free parking. You can ask for samples. You order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. Be sure to get the loyalty card if you plan to go back. Highly recommend!

The plastic water cups looked foggy and old. Everything here just seemed old and dirty. We started with the Dip Trio because the salsa that came with the chips was very spicy. The Dip trio included Pico de Gallo (didn't look fresh), queso, and Guacamole. I ordered a Grilled Chicken burrito with Yuca Fries. The Grilled Chicken burrito barely had chicken and instead had a load of spicy chorizo (ground meat). It should've been called a chorizo burrito with chicken. The Yuca fries were like bricks (probably frozen). Our server was very nice which is why I gave this review 2 stars.

As soon as I walked in, I was seated and taken to a booth. Once I sat down I was handed a menu and was trying to figure out what I wanted. I was given water but the water tasted odd as if their filter needs to be changed. The seating was comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit. The ambiance was rather dark inside the restaurant. I ended up deciding on flautas and chose Mexican rice as my side. I didn't wait long for my food but the plating was very sloppy. A lot of cheese and just overall super unappetizing looking. However, I was starving so I made with what I had. The flautas were super oily and soggy so it was extremely hard to eat them without them failing apart. The rice was also watery as well and tasted mostly of tomato juice with how much watery they were. Service was alright, just very mediocre and grabbing plates when we weren't fully finished. Honestly, I could've made without going as the food was just alright. I most likely won't be coming back.
