Would not return. Looks like they don't want dinning room staff to save on overhead, so you take your food in to go boxes and welcome to eat in the restaurant and to clean after yourself. Always constantly good, the yellow curry has been my favorite here for years! today I wanted to try something different so I ordered Chicken Cheesy Curry Medium plus. The sauce for the cheese was not a pull apart cheese like you would get at a bbq place, more so the liquid type when you make it out of the blue box at home. I really wanted to like Spicy Bangkok more... it's in a solid location and very accessible from a lot of the key cities in the Novi area, and has ample parking too! However... I just wasn't impressed with the overall food experience. Spicy Bangkok does make it very easy to order online, and the pickup process is easy (which is always appreciated during COVID), and they beat the expected timing of when my order was slated to be ready too! The disappointing part is the food itself. The Chicken Satay is solid, but nothing special, and the Pepper Sliced Beef I ordered was just not good. The biggest disappointment is the offering of spice levels! For a restaurant that has Spicy in the name, it's such a bummer that the curry dishes don't have customizable spice levels and really leaves Spicy Bangkok behind the pack in this area. Overall, I'd say Spicy Bangkok exactly fits the 3 star criteria -- "Just OK". If you need to satiate your craving for Thai food, it'll do the job... but there are certainly better options locally that serve a wider variety of desired criteria. read more

This place is good, but a little expensive. I've gotten the Bangkok chicken twice. Sauce is great and reminds me of one I used to get at a place in downtown Detroit, which has since closed. One of my go-to Thai takeout places pre-Covid. I have been coming here more often since the shelter in place orders. I always call in advance to place an order. Now that's an absolutely must to reduce interactions and observe social distancing. I'm a huge fan on the green curry and my hubby loves the pineapple fried rice. I'm a Thai girl from LA, so I definitely know my Thai food. Yum yum. I'm a fan of the chicken satay and the crab ragoon too. If you haven't had crab ragoon... all I can say is imitation crab, cream cheese, and green onions wrapped in a wonton. Who's drooling?! This place is uber affordable and speedy. Food not good doesn't taste good? No flava to salty. I order D-Pak curry plane I don't recommend it

Let me start by saying I very rarely take the time to leave a review. Have not been to this restaurant in a while nor do we carry out from there anymore. Went into the restaurant with my mother, sat down at a table and about 10 minutes later someone came out and asked if we were waiting for people. When I said no we're waiting for menus we were told they don't have menus or service. we're carry out only. But you can sit at a table and eat Long story short, I ordered two dishes. They were the smallest portions I have ever received in a restaurant. With plastic ware wrapped in a napkin so tight you couldn't even unroll it to get it out. Needed a knife to cut the pad thai for a blind mother. Was told they don't have any knives and then she dug up a knife from the kitchen and handed it to me and said I found one. When I asked for water to drink she said we don't have any but you can buy some, the cooler is over there. She apologized that they have no staff but that's how things are. My dish had three little tiny shrimp on it. Went to pay the bill and it was $34. I don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on good food. With service. But the portion was so small that one would have thought it was an appetizer. Absolutely not worth $34 and a tip what am I tipping for I didn't even get any service but I left a tip because that's who I am. Save yourself the time and go to a real restaurant that has service and silverware. read more

A little bit on the spicy side for me, but i also ordered it medium, so that's my own fault. The portions are also really big for the prices! Which I love. I wasn't a giant fan of the crispy rolls, but they were by no means bad; they just weren't for me. I wanted the veggie spring rolls, but they just so happened to be out when I went so I went with the crispy rolls instead. Can't wait to visit again and try more items off of the menu!!! Although the (yellow) curry (with chicken) tasted pretty good and the potatoes themselves had a good taste, I had a hard time serving enough curry to cover my rice with the amount of potatoes that were in there (and the curry that wasn't in there). I do understand potatoes are sometimes an integral part of the curry but the amount I received was outrageous and could last for 4 curries altogether. I called the restaurant to express my complaint and was disrespected by one of the staff. I was told I should have ate the chicken for lunch and not for dinner. I should have eaten the chicken right away and not 3 1/2 hours later. I tried to explain that the chicken was in sauce and there's no way this chicken should've been hard and dry. It's ok. I came here because my regular Thai place was closed and I needed a fix. I got the Drunken Noodles beef, which is one of my favorite dishes. The noodles were a little too well done and there was more sauce than I'm accustomed too, which I enjoyed, but the beef was so over cooked!! I couldn't even chew half of it and had to spit it out. Being 9 months pregnant and past my due date, I wanted to try some spicy food in order to get my little one out! Boy, if you get "hot" your lips will be tingling after! We ordered the chicken drunken noodles, pad Thai, and fried rice. All delicious and good portions that lasted a couple meals afterwards too. We also tried out the crunchy rolls and pork gyoza pot stickers, those were very good as well and the sauce they came with was tasty! Were so glad we tried this place for the first time. A lot of the Thai restaurants in the Novi area only had 3 stars and were just that... Mediocre, but this place has nicely surprised us. Good food, friendly/fast wait staff, and decent prices. Good choices on menu including Pho, which I've yet to try. The egg rolls and crispy rolls were muchhhh better than the spring rolls which were too tiny, dry, and lacked good flavor. I got the matsemon which was very tasty.
