My favorite class turned out to be the pole-fit class, which is more of a workout class that revolves around the pole. Once again, Spin Sity disappoints. Instead of trying to rectify an already bad situation, the studio refused to accept the Living Social voucher my friend purchased for me! Needless to say, my friend is attempting to get her money back. This has not been a pleasant experience for any of us, and we were never even able to set foot in the studio. What a pain. read more

I'm always looking for a new fun way to work out (I'm the type that gets bored easily) and when I heard there was a pole dance studio in town I knew I had to try it! I was a but nervous at first, all the girls around me were spinning around on poles and doing tricks, but I was quickly welcomed with big smiles and helpful tips. I started with the pile fit class (taught by Jennifer I think her name was) and had my butt kicked within five minutes! It was one of the best workouts I've had in a while! I toke a twerk workout class the instructors were marina and Paige. They were super friendly and greeted us upon arrival.. I loved that they went over moves then went taught a routine that incorporated it. This isn't my first dance class but I enjoyed this more than others I previously toke. This place gave me a serious workout and I woke up sore the next day.. it was so much fun... and I felt positive vibes. I am so in love with this place! Never thought pole dancing would feel like such a calling! This place is cheap and I have enjoyed every single class. The Instructors are welcoming and eager to teach and so fun to watch, ie Jen's butt is amazing, I catch myself staring with envy, she is a cute little minx . For the past year or so i have been trying to get my girlfriends to try pole dancing, and I have had so much trouble finding a studio. Either the hours weren't right, money wasn't right or it was to far from Antioch, where I live. Then one day I stumbled upon Spin Sity. As soon as I found out there was a pole dance studio in Antioch I knew I had to check it out. SO three weeks ago I began taking classes and boy was it the BEST workout I ever had. The instructors are young and hip, the studio looks very feminine and there is also a fabulous collection of "stripper heels" for sale. I have attended several classes and met at least three of the instructors, all of whom are patient and VERY talented on the pole. They also have break dance and ballet classes for the little ones, they really try to take care of everyone. I love that they preach about being sexy and really try to focus on that. One of the other great things the offer are parties, so I booked a party for April 3 and it was a success. All my friends were raving and want to go back. Definitely if you are nervous about trying pole dancing I say rally up a bunch of girls and book a party it's a great way to learn and see if it's something you like. All of the girls in attendance had never tried pole dancing but have instantly fell in love. Not only did we have pole dancing but a awesome pleasure party. $20 for a 30 minutes session is a complete rip off. That's hardly enough time to get your muscles warm enough to build the muscles necessary to do pole. I would NOT buy classes here. It's much more worth the effort to go somewhere in Berkeley or Oakland where you get the full hour and they spend the time to stretch out and warm up to avoid injuries. read more

Ripped off!! That's all i had to say! 30 minutes for $20 dollars that's crazy! I ended up spend over 80 dollars for an hour and a half. I went to another company and only paid $15 dollars in total for the exact same thing and a for a hour and half of there time. Don't go here unless you want to get Robbed. read more

I absolutely LOVE Spin Sity!!!! The first time I ever went to Spin SIty was for a bachelorette party and then I was hooked. Since starting here I have noticed so many amazing changes in my body. Since having my son I have been very self conscious and uncomfortable with my new body. Even going to the gym didn't help me much but now going to Spin Sity I can finally see muscle definition and I feel sexy again. Jen, the owner, is an amazing teacher and such a sweet person. Amanda, the other instructor, is awesome teacher as well and always makes moves look great with her long legs lol. The prices here are so great and affordable. They have so many different options for classes and passes. I personally have an unlimited pass and only spend about $4 per class!!!!! I look forward to make classes each and every week. Everyone who goes here is so nice, you never feel uncomfortable and you don't have to be a size 0 to feel sexy here. This is an awesome place for all women of all shapes and sizes. I attended a Private group session with a Mom's Club and had a BLAST! The instructor (who is also the owner) tailored the session based on our physical ability and really interacted with each one of us. It was a perfect balance of exercise and sexy and fun. Im fairly athletic and every muscle in my body was sore the next few days...amazing total body workout! The studio is pretty basic, but has great poles and mirrors and was very comfortable and clean. I wish she had spent a little more time at the end of class pitching her classes and memberships and packages (which others might complain about) because I like when owners are enthusiastic about their business and excited to get you in. My wife bought a Living Social voucher for this establishment based on their representation that they offered classes in Walnut Creek. Based on our experience I would recommend that potential clients avoid Spin Sity like the plague. They not only did not follow through on their promise, when we complained to Living Social they lied about the situation claiming falsely that they had offered classes. To top it off, they went on to lie about attempting to contact us personally to rectify the situation -- no contact ever happened. Shady people with no integrity. read more

I purchased a groupon to try this place out and had foot surgery before I was able to use it. I contacted the owner to find out about possible options (extending the expiration date, gifting, selling my groupon). Was told I could do a combination of the options such as use some and give some away. I found someone to purchase for the same price I paid and when they called the owner was told that groupons are not transferable. I followed up with the owner and she confirmed that I could not sell my groupon but could gift it (not sure what the difference is). She also said that she could extend the expiration date by 60 days. I sent a request to have it extended and have not received any communication since then. Poor customer service, not sure if it would even be worth trying a class :( read more

Jennifer we have spoken and quite frankly it's a bit like beating a dead horse. You stand by your employee which is your right as a business owner. I have told my version of the story and now you have told yours. If I'm such a "liar" as you have stated in numerous harassing emails, tell me what I stand to gain from it. I get nothing by posting a review on Yelp whether it be positive or negative. I appreciate reviews from other Yelpers regardless of their opinion. The fact is, I never received a phone call from anyone at your establishment to say that the class was canceled. I never received an email. I'm not going to pay for a full month of classes without seeing if the studio is a place that I want to spend my money. I have opted out from your email list and yet still I receive messages. I don't agree with the way that you run your business and I don't care for what you believe to be customer service and that's fine. As stated in multiple emails, I would prefer if you would cease contact with me. I have heard what you had to say and I still disagree. I have not contacted your studio nor have I said anything regarding your studio since posting the original review. Perhaps now that you've commented on my review your heart will be at ease. You shouldn't call someone a liar just because they don't agree with you on something that happened especially when you weren't even there. Don't challenge my integrity as an individual because I have never challenged yours. I'm comfortable with agreeing to disagree. read more

I was so excited to use the groupon I purchased to try out the silk classes. Let's start of by saying, I have called multiple times, left 3 voicemails and never received a call back. They don't use their phone at all. If you don't email then you will never (and I mean never)get a reply back. Next I look at their schedule and there are no more than one silk class a week and mind you, some weeks have none at all! So a 4 month time frame to book a class is not realistic when they only have 3 a month. On top of everything, it's required to put a credit card on file which it's not stated on the groupon. You have to look up spin sity's rules and regulations to find that out. There is no way I'm putting my credit card info without trying it out especially when they are not consistent with getting back to you. So in the end it took me about 3 weeks to even find all this out. It was very frustrating. I ended up returning my groupon and decided to take my money elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It's a waste of your time. There are many other businesses out there that are more professional, user friendly, and has way more silk classes. read more
