Came here on my lunch break on a Tuesday, showed her the dress, and she had me fitted and payed and back to work in 20 minutes. The dress was ready 48 hours later! It was a little pricey - which I understand! It was a rush job and she does AMAZING work - but I ended up just having her fit it in the bust and waist and then used fashion tape to make it a little shorter for my costume, but I'll be able to rewear with a longer length (telling you this so you know the hem line is NOT her shoddy work, it's mine, I'm sure hers would've been perfect). Also she was SO NICE and did not judge when I came in full costume both times - I work with kids and it was spirit week . I've needed a good tailor for a number of years, but just kept putting it off - the wait, the price, etc. I finally got around to search and reading reviews and I chose Spinning Wheel because of her rave reviews. From the moment I walked it, she was warm and welcoming, asking helpful questions about how I'd like my clothing to fit, where I want things to sit, and what I thought about the minor adjustments. I honestly was shocked and how detail oriented she was and how patient she was with each minor adjustment. The price was on the higher end, but I was expecting high quality work. I paid my deposit and set my reminder for a 2 week pickup. When I received my altered pieces several weeks later, everything was meticulously finished, ironed, and ready to wear. I had several days to wear my altered pieces and come back for adjustments if anything didn't fit correctly. The offer is great reassurance of the standard of her work. I took a pair of jeans to get mended. I know, I know...who does that? It is probably cheaper to go buy a new pair, but hear me out. Shopping for clothes that fit and that are of the same quality can be a challenge and very time consuming. In this case, my husband had a pair of button-fly, 501 jeans that he loves and didn't want to part with. Unfortunately, a hole was starting to form on the front near the zipper. He didn't want to risk showing off his junk, so he asked me to find a tailor. Spinning Wheel took the work on. I didn't have a rush job, so she took her time and said it would be done in a week. I was a bit surprised that I had to pay in-full, in advance. I mean, what if the workmanship was shoddy? Or what if they lost the jeans? I understand a deposit, but they did after all have the jeans for collateral. Even with the small hole, they could have resold the jeans and made money, but alas, they made me pay in-full. Upon returning to the store a week later, I couldn't even find the hole. She had to point out where it had been and the work that was done to cover it. The area was stiff, but other than that, I was not able to identify the hole or the reinforced patch job. Thankfully the stiffness softened after the jeans were laundered and worn. Sadly another hole has appeared near the back pocket, but guess what? I know a great place to take the jeans to get that fixed: Spinning Wheel! read more

When I bought this dress originally, it was some stretchy white fabric dress that looked okay and I was okay with that, but after bringing this dress to spinning wheel alterations, that's when it started looking like a wedding dress. Olga added cute details like pleats around my waist and darts on my bust to help my dress fit me properly. She also re did this neckline that originally had a keyhole and more of a boat neck going on compared to what is in my pictures. Not much was needed to be done- the straps needed to be tightened and the bra cups needed to be switched out to match my skin tone and that was about it. Two days after dropping my pants off I got a call from work that I needed relocate to California immediately to respond to the wildfires.
