Not really the best experience here today. Took my boys for some in the AC. EXCEPT it was hot in there. And crowded. And a lot of the games were broken. And a lot of the games ran out of tickets. And...lol The restrooms smelled like they havent been cleaned in a year. They have switched to timed play cards now, which is nice. The kids played as much as they wanted for a half hour for 12 bux. Pretty good deal. But the most frustrating part came at departure. We wanted to collect our "booty" won from the tickets, but they had 1 girl alone behind the counter and a full line of customers. I had to wait a full 15 minutes to cash out, or risk 2 very upset children. I dont blame the girl, she was hustling, but the management should realize theres an issue there. I saw a lot of people get aggravated at having to wait for the ticket prizes and just leave with unhappy kids. Still, i entertained 2 kids for almost an hour on 12 dillars...

This picture was taken after he was almost trampled and it seemed like we were bothering Chuck-E-Cheese that is. Disgraceful¡!

This place sucks!! Even on a child's level. The children are obnoxious and horribly mannered. Parents are just as bad. My grandson nearly got trampled when chuckie threw the tickets. Parents and kids alike were diving for these tickets!! Like it was gold. A little boy approached us and said he didn't want his tickets and threw them in my grandson's face, then a bunch of children pushed my 4 year old out of the way to get the tickets. 2 times in 10 minutes my grandson was nearly hurt!! The teenagers that work here could care less. We ordered food for my grandson and my granddaughter, 45 minutes to get chicken nuggets, they were so burnt that they were unable to eat them. We had to complain over and over that our food had not come out and the kids were hungry and then did not get to eat it after paying over $45 for food, it was so disgusting that they couldn't eat it. Thank God for the self serve salad bar or we would have starved. Biggest waste of money, there are better places to go. Dave and Buster's next time!!

First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!

I was there with about 15 colleagues for a team-building event, and the experience was genuinely impressive from start to finish. We rented a private room from the morning through early afternoon and actually spent about four hours using the space to get real work done before the fun began. Coffee and water were available when we arrived, and the room was comfortable and well set up for meetings, which made it easy to be productive. Lunch was a make-your-own taco buffet, which was delicious and worked well for a group with different preferences. The staff tended to us constantly throughout the morning and into the activities later on. After lunch, we did a scavenger hunt followed by unlimited-play game cards for the rest of the day. It struck a really nice balance between structured activities and free time. Since this was a Wednesday afternoon, it was relatively quiet, which made everything even better -- easy to talk, easy to move around, and no crowds...anywhere. Overall, it was a really nice way to host an off-site team-building day. Well run, attentive staff, good food, and just enough gaming mixed in to keep things fun. I'd absolutely recommend this location for a corporate event or group outing.

Geared towards the younger crowd, adults can partake in the play which was pretty cool. There was enough excitement from the various obstacles to provide a thrill, old and young alike. This was definitely the highlight of the entertainment center. Safety wasn't an issue and there was enough supervision even with the additional risks. There are many arcade games but 1/3 of the games seemed to be out of order for my trip. Not sure if that is because of the package my group paid for. Honestly most of the games were stale. The bumper cars were of the kiddie variety and used levers for movement instead of a steering wheel so it was a little less bump which takes away some of the fun. The overall drive space was smaller so the bumps were more like nudges. The scary 3D movie experience also didn't provide the thrill I was expecting. The aroma of buttery popcorn is very prevalent everywhere in the center, so much so that I swear it's on purpose to make you buy popcorn. The pizza was not impressive but I suppose standard for the course. During my visit the wait for the concession lines were really long. The floors were well cleaned and maintained which is a nice change from the normal food stained floors of most kiddie entertainment centers.
