    Boneless Wings (BBQ)

I heard there was a change and had to go back to experience the new Spirits in Willoughby. They have reopened the wine car, and I can't wait to go back again just to experience their wine bar. We sat in the bar area, tried a draft and had a cocktail. We really enjoyed the new food, and I loved the Burning River chicken sandwich. Their wing night is Wednesdays, so our party enjoyed the boneless with BBQ. We also got the spud skins and I would absolutely get them again. Our waitress checked in every so often and was just on it, the front staff were running around and provided great service. Spirits seems to always have something going on which is exciting, and I'm glad it's lively again. Can't wait to go back.

You know...I've always been kind of structured in my reviews. This place is 5 stars because everything was perfect that place is 4 stars because this one thing wasn't perfect. I have to rethink that because of this very eatery. The food was good. Not blow me out of the water amazing but certainly tummy filling fare. I had the prime rib and added mushrooms, peppers and onions with a side of au jus. The meat was a bit on the drier side and a little tough. But...onion rings on the side...yes please for these sweet, savory, crispy little rings of greatness. The lettuce wedge salad and crisp, light and satisfying...it just lacked a balsamic glaze to add the need touch of sweetness. And a Spicy Cucumber Martini with a Tajin rim...all you need is one, but you'll want more! Sweet with the sour Tajin jolt was in perfect balance. It is made with jalepeno tequila which I got notes of, but it could have been a bit spicier. So, with the issues, why not a 4 star review, you may ask... It was the service. Hands down the greatest service I have ever had. Our server was at our table to greet us with menus in literal seconds. She was bright, bubbly, and sweet as apple pie. She gave suggestions, hyped the food and drinks. She was efficient and we never lacked for anything. I felt like she was just serving us even though she had a seated area, a bar area, and an outdoor seating space to take care of that was overflowing with people for the holiday weekend with a band! And the set-up of the restaurant itself was just cool, chill and playful. The barn like feel was so inviting and the outdoor option to sit could make it feel like a new place everytime you come! That's why it's a 5 star. Definitely on my visit again and soon list.

I've been here twice. I came with a group of coworkers the first time and came in the door and there was one bartender who was also serving guests. She was only serving regulars at the bar. I stood around for about 10 minutes confused as I wanted to eat at a table. A coworker of mine finally showed up and she was able to get us a table as she's a regular there. Service was okay when we got there but her priority was the bar. It was just okay. Nothing special. It's in a barn type of building and it was open however they have outside seating. Second time I came here was with some friends for our monthly book club meeting. When I tell you we waited over an hour for our food. We were told there was a backup in the kitchen and that it would be awhile. It was busy. Service was just okay. Our server seemed rushed and didn't smile or seem super friendly. It was also so loud that I couldn't hear my friends speak at the same table. The food was really good though and I loved the cheeseburger and fries. I wanted well done, not burnt and they burnt my sandwich. It was so hard and I couldn't eat much of it. I will say fries do not come with most meals and they charge an extra $3 to substitute fries which is odd considering I ordered a burger. Overall, it was okay. The food was the highlight. Personally this gives more bar vibes than restaurant and with the service being so slow I'm not sure I would come back.

Thursday special. 4oz burger for $8.00.

Otherwise it was very cozy but loud i they need to put sound boards on the wall or ceiling to help absorb the sound. We had pizza (which I would recommend purchasing) & veggie board They only had one bathroom for about 40 people ‍ but it seemed to work. If you wanted to have a drink, you had a walk outside to the martini bar. Once there you have to wait in line at the end of the bar and it was packed full. It reminded me of an old lounge.

I stood at the bar for 30 minutes waiting for a drink a few visits ago while the bartenders took shots with other guests and got absolutely trashed while I was waiting to be served to the point that other patrons at the bar were asking me if I needed them to get the bartenders attention to make my drink, meanwhile the staff was avoiding eye contact and refusing to acknowledge me. tonight at 9:30 they came up to my table and told us it was last call (according to google this bar closes at 12) and brought us our checks. we paid cash and they didn't bring us change- assuming you're getting tipped 66% on a table you refused to wait on is insane and I had to go inside and ask for both mine and my sisters change where I was met with eye rolls and dirty looks from the girl with the braid who had been giving us dirty looks all night. this bar is convenient for me and my sister to meet and catch up each week and to be met with such blatant disrespect is beyond disappointing. closing the bar early so you can have a private party with your friends is not an acceptable reason to kick other patrons out and it has happened times before. we will not be returning, which is disappointing to both of us.

Inside it's very small and the tables are crammed together. When people would walk past our table to use the restroom I had at least 2 people hit my purse that was on the back of my chair. The purse isn't even big at all. It just felt extremely tight sitting between others who are dining. The server was very nice but the service was overall slow. We had to wait awhile to get our entrie orders taken. Then waiting even longer for our food. I think the server was overwhelmed with our size table of 8 people. She checked in on us often which was nice but at the end of our dinner she messed up almost everyone's check. It was very disorganized and everyone was confused about what they were paying for or who owed what. When I got my check I had what I ordered on my bill and it was my card number but another girls name showed up on my bill... weird. Food was just okay. About as good as Olive Garden and honestly I would prefer Olive Garden. My friend also wasn't impressed with the food and said she wouldn't go back there. There was nothing about the food that made us excited to go back. My friend got an espresso martini and she said it was okay but strong. She had ordered another one after finishing the first one and when the server brought it out it was basically black and looked like straight espresso coffee. My friend tried it, hated it and asked for 2 creamers to add to it. They couldn't make a good cocktail but they did have a good selection of wines.

We like to sit in the bar unless we're going to go for a super duper fancy dinner. The bar is very upscale and the servers attention to detail to the uniforms also is unmatched. While we normally go there for fancy dinner tonight we just wanted a cheeseburger which is on the bar menu which they don't really tell you about. They do bring a selection of fresh baked bread and flatbread with the most beautiful salted butter you've ever had. Both my wife and myself went for the burger and it came out cooked just as we had ordered. It comes with some truffle fries and just the right amount. My son ordered the 14 oz strip steak cooked medium and I swear whoever they have back there cooking the meat knows exactly what they're doing. My son also got some veg and an order of truffle fries and then proceeded to finish the other half of my wife's Burger as well true to form. We had a $50 gift card that we were supposed to use by February but the manager on duty was very cool and honored it anyway. Overall The Capital grille is not some place that you should ever not consider if you're in the area!

My Bolognese Cavatelli was very good, but my wife felt the Eggplant Parmigiana was simply a cheesy clump, the skin tough and stringy. An excellent bread service goes in the win column.
