I needed to get a Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection for my car and took it in to Spiteri's. There customer service was awesome, they were very thorough explaining things to me, and gave me updates as they were fixing my car. The team at Spiteri's never disappoint! I went for oil change and asked that they look at tire that had been plugged. They removed the exterior plug and replaced with interior tire patch/plug. I had issue with alert lights and they reset and resolved the problem. They are always on time, explain clearly the process and even have pick up/drop off service. I highly recommend Spiteri's! I went to Spiteri's today for a smog check. I had smog checks done there in previous few years because of their competitive price. After an hour of waiting, the inspector told me that he couldn't finish the smog check due to OBD Check not communicating. I still had to pay the smog check charge. Later on that day I brought my car to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong. My car passed the smog check with him. Even though he charged more for the smog check, I at least don't have to worry that my car might fail the smog check and I have to pay huge amount for repairs. I just don't understand why my car's smog check got aborted at Spiteri's but passed at another shop. read more

I received a phone call to explain what needed attention and how much it would cost to repair. Very open communication and fair prices. They also offer a customer pickup and then when completed I was picked up and returned to my car. My car battery died last night (cabled jumped) and again this morning. Guess it isnt a random fluke. I called Spiteri's at 7:12am on a Thursday and explained my situation. Cris was super friendly and nice. He fit me in this AM easily and quickly. Upon arrival, he took a look at the car and confirmed the diagnosis: dead car battery. The cost: $218 (includes 4 yr warranty) and done in 30 mins. As a young woman who doesn't know much about cars, this place was very welcoming, friendly, honest, quick, and affordable. If I could give Spiteri's Auto Service specifically Cris Ramirez a 100 star/A+ rating, I would because as a first time customer I was in awe of the welcoming, highly professional, world class customer service I received for a random car stalling on the freeway overpass situation I had with my parent's SUV where we had to have it towed to the Spiteri's location after hours on Sunday night. First thing Monday morning I received a call from Cris and he was super personable over the phone and fully explained what his staff was going to do to ensure they conduct a full comprehensive inspection because for some reason they were able to get the SUV working and did not experience any of the issues I was having when the SUV would not accelerate forward when I pushed the gas. Cris provided the option to have his staff check our SUV for another night to ensure they were not missing anything. I was so grateful for his kindness and assurance and as a female who does not know too much about fixing cars, Cris is someone you definitely want to deal with in these types of situations because he is very honest and thorough. He really gave me piece of mind that our SUV would be taken care of. If I could give this shop 10/5 stars I would. I had a rather annoying and complex smog issue with my 1997 Jeep Wrangler and e-mailed them. They took the time to read my issue and recommended a course of action and set me up with an appointment FAST. The staff is extremely professional and courteous and the shop itself is well maintained with a professional feel and great waiting area, which means they CARE about their customers. It turns out all I needed was a baseline smog check, which I passed (just barely! but passing is passing in California!). The smog check itself was less expensive than some of the test only shops in the area and the level of service and attentiveness I received was as if I came in for an expensive repair. This shows me that this place really cares - they didn't try to upsell me on anything but reminded me that in the future they do service if needed which is totally what I'd expect. BONUS: Cruel donuts is walking distance from this place so it's pretty convenient if you want a sweet snack while you wait. read more

Absolute scammers. Each time I took my car there for an oil change/tire rotation, the soft-spoken grandatherly gentleman would call to tell me all the things they found wrong with my car. Until I knew better, I spent thousands here uneccesarily. Remember, only about 15% of auto-repair shops are honest and ethical. This is not one of them. They kind-talk and up-sell. This was my 3rd time here for a break lamp inspection. The 1st couple times everything when we'll, got my paperwork the same day. The place is clean good system looks like at one point it was well-managed,it's a little over priced but I figured same day service,ok,whatever. The 3rd time around not so good. It seems like they were fishing. They wanted to charge me for every little thing. The car has 2,000 miles?. I work for a shop myself a lot of the things they were asking for didn't make sense. Couple of the thing that bother me about this place. when I asked a question, why it was necessary to replace or repair . I always got short/rude answers, Making it seam like I was looking to get over them lol I'm paying for a service and I have the right to know why I'm being charge that amount .I advice that I had no problem paying and I didn't want them doing anything for free but I do need answers and if I have questions I'm asking,specially after we went from $300 to $1,100 . It's their job as service writers to make the customer understand and make them feel like their moneys isn't being waisted or being ripped off . I wanted to make sure I was getting a Fair price and service . After receiving all the rude comments and short answers, i told them to go ahead and move forward. (I wasn't too happy but it was already taking. To much time ). I don't have time to be dealing with this back-and-forth as it is it's already stressful dealing with dmv. But couple things raise . 1 they charge me for 2hrs to drive 200 miles because according to them it needed to be on the road for a lease 200 mile witch it came out to $200 because according to them the car didn't pass smog due to the battery being replacement and the computer needed at-lease 200 miles to reset the vehicle computers. when I picked up the vehicle, the car only had only15 miles difference!?? The second one was ,one of my front headlamps wasn't properly aim and needed to be "laser adjusted " there goes another $100 .. honestly I wasn't going to write this. (I said to my self let move forward probably everyone was having a bad day. I've been there) . But Today I noticed that the front lamps aren't even aim correctly. Then I start looking all this yelp reviews, and it seems like this is becoming a common thing. There's more to this but I'm sure we all get the point . Wouldnt say come on down and then say no we cant do it. 3. That had a properly working machine. Finally we found their listing on Yelp and called. They said they could get me in tomorrow. I asked if there was anyway they could get me in today if possible? He said they were fully booked. I explained the difficulties we had had and said ok. He said do you mind holding? No problem! So my jeep ended up at this shop because I broke down close by and it's an accredited mechanic shop with AAA and thats who towed my jeep. I was so bummed out that this was happening days before I was getting a lift installed. The shop (Chris is be exact-very nice) called me right when they opened. I told him the situation and I gave him my warranty info. This shop was quick to diagnose, get a hold of my warranty , work with me when it came to out of pocket expenses and Chris kept me in the loop through the whole thing AND I was able to get my lift installed as planned! My go to for oil changes or smog checks. The people working here are always very friendly, and they are always really efficient. There's free wifi, cookies, water and coffee/tea available while you wait as well. I usually always make an appointment before coming but I believe they do walk-ins as well. Brought my 1997 F150 in for smog check. Chuck took the car in at 7:15 am had me shuttled to work. Chuck called me to let me know it was finished by 8:50. edit: Updating from 1 to 4 stars Got a call from service owner Chris to bring the car back to fix the noise problem. Problem was solved without any extra charges. Updating the review for responsivess and solving the problem promptly after writing the initial review I went there last month to install a cover for catalytic converter. I had a cover already bought. I took an appointment for 9 AM and left my car with the packaged cover. I was told that the car will be ready in 2-3 hours but no update till 2 PM. Finally, I was told that it will be ready at 4.30 PM. At pickup time, i saw the note saying "the car is making noises at times after the cover installation" I asked about it and was told this is the problem with the cover you bought. Very dissatisfied with the service. They had all day to see the cover and tell me if the cover is not a good fit instead of installing a bad cover and making my car worse. read more

I had four new tires put on because I was changing my stock wheels to 22 inch rims. Lawrence gave me information to help me make an informed decision about what kind of tires I wanted to purchase. I told him I was calling several tire shops to get different estimates and was also learning and deciding what I wanted to do, but overall he was helpful and said that he would rather give me accurate and truthful information than bad information and not be happy. I felt he answered my questions honestly and thoroughly over the phone and through all my emails. So, I decided to bring my car to Spiteris. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the shop was caution tape and spaced out chairs for social distancing. Then I noticed how CLEAN the waiting room was and also the shelf with neatly stacked papers, magazines, and a shelf full of key chains, bottle openers, and water bottles for customers to take. Then against the wall, you will see all their certificates, and mixed in between pictures of a cyclist. This of course caught my attention being a cyclist and triathlete myself only to find out the owner is an avid cyclist and competitor. They ordered my tires, called me when they were in, I made an appointment for the tires, of course bringing my bike that day and biking home. But they do offer a drop off service if you are within a certain distance. Then 4 days after the tires were put on, alignment and balance was done, I agot a follow up phone call to see if I was having any problems and if I had any questions about the new tires or their customer service. I highly recommend this shop. Helpful from the first phone call all the way to the follow up call when the service was done. read more

The service center lied to my face about the condition of my breaks. They said they were at 2% when, in fact, they were at 50% and 70% front and back, respectively. They wanted to charge me $1400 for changing breaks and charged me for four tires when one would have sufficed. Don't trust Spiteri's with your auto service. read more

I found my new mechanics! I brought my car here with a nail in the tire. It was terrible timing considering my lease was about to end. I mentioned that to Tom and he was mindful of that when he recommended slightly cheaper tires on the same level as my current tires. He called the supplier to get the tires same day and I had my car back that afternoon. I really appreciate the upfront honesty and clear communication. They service all car types and are certainly staffed with plenty of able mechanics. Best of all, I just got my new car which is manufactured by a lesser known company but I know it will be fine in their hands because I've seen them working on its vintage sibling. read more

I got my vehicle towed to Spiteri's for a dead battery service. When I picked-up the vehicle later in the afternoon, it had the battery telltale on the panel. At first, I thought they forgot to reset the fault, so I decided to come back in the next day as the store was already closed. In the next morning, whrn I start driving back to the shop the vehicle just died again. Beyond the fact it was a poor job in fixing the problem, when I called Spiteri's looking for some response such as "sorry for the inconvenience, we will get fixed for you", all I got was I can't do nothing for you, tow the vehicle back and I will take a look if need to charge you for something more. It demonstrated zero accountability / warranty for the service provided. I will take the vehicle there tomorrow on my own expenses, at minimum I expect Spiteri's to correct the mistake of their first repair. I will report back here. read more
