Perfect spread! Wings and gyros with plenty of sauce!
    Craig Z.

So I grabbed a gyro and some wings to go from here the other night. I can't express how good the wings and sauce were. Dry rubbed and crispy, and the sauce on the side. Perfect all the way around. The gyro was tasty and so were the fries. This is definitely my new go to spot for wings!

Spitz was a decent fast casual Mediterranean option. Ordered a lavash doner wrap and salad, it was enough food to share. We had the street cart wrap with beef & lamb-- Garlic aioli, fried lavash chips, romaine, cabbage, tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, and tzatziki. The flavors are there, but I think the wrap could have used a little bit more meat. The last couple bites didn't have any meat. Otherwise it was tasty and service was friendly.

NOT WHAT YOU THINK The Spitz moniker is derived from the rotating BBQ spit, middle-eastern style rotisserie used to slow cook their meats. The name of this restaurant isn't very becoming. But you will be coming regularly once you try this place. Mediterranean food has worked it's way as a staple across the country because of the use of numerous spices, it has an undeniable bold flavor that has become a favorite of the American diet. Here is no exception and lives up to the Mediterranean flavor profile expectations with an Americanized twist on the ingredients. I ordered on the app and found it quite user friendly, which encourages me to get food here more often with the ease of use and simple interface. You have to ability to add or omit ingredients from the menu items which makes for a very satisfying customized meal (and only have yourself to blame if it is a displeasing combination) BERLINER WRAP- meat and veg all in a flatbread wrap. There's a lot of ingredients packed in this thang, so for me, I had to use extra sauce to dip and coat it all in flavor. The problem with these wraps though, is that the paper it wrapped in was getting stuck to the bread and would have to constantly peel it off that thang and it was a mess, unless you just don't mind eating the paper for some extra fiber. MEDI BOWL- The bowl was felt healthy and hearty; an all-around good dish. The crunchy garbanzo beans were a nice element to contrast against the other textures in the bowl. Again, i liked it with more sauce, but that's just me. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and I want to try the other menu items in the future.

Wowza!!! I highly recommend trying Spitz...it is awesome! We drove by and ended up coming back to eat because we were curious. This is a small, eclectic cafe with abstract art all over the walls, love their chandlers, which are like several shop lights all tied together and hanging from the ceiling. They have an outdoor patio as well which I was told was dog-friendly. You order at the counter from their fairly large menu of Mediterranean style foods. They are truly vegetarian, they offer vegan as well. They also say they are gluten free but I don't know if they have special accommodations so foods are not crossed contaminated or if they just offer "gluten free options" like their pita. We were surprised at the reasonable prices for everything. You can make your meals a combo for an extra $6.50 and they offer wraps, salads, gyros, wings, etc. I went for the Original Gyro with beef & lamb and it comes with crisp, fresh romaine, tomatoes, red onions thinly sliced, feta and tzatziki. I will order extra sauce next time because I think it could have used a tad more, but that's my preference. Wife did the Doner Basket, which is a big salad with everything you can imagine like fries, garbanzos, olives, tomatoes, feta, falafel (more on this in a second), and fried pita and lavash strips. They serve it with a balsamic dressing, which wasn't needed because all of the components. She got the salad with beef & lamb and loved it. You are offered sides with everything and I got the fried pita strips and hummus. Their hummus was creamy smooth but lacked any real flavor...needs seasoning and lemon! Those pita strips...ok, those are to die for! Wife's salad included falafel...we have never tasted such a great one before. They use a distinct spice in it, which I'm not sure what it was but it almost had a cinnamon flavor. They were so good and we will order them as a side next time. I cannot wait to come back here for some of the other offerings. Their food is so fresh, so tasty, just an overall great experience! They had several take-out orders; we ate there. Several delivery drivers came in to pick up as well so obviously Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc. have this place on their options. Try them!!!

We came here on a Friday night, excited to try this place! Tables were somewhat full when we arrived. We were waiting at the counter and checking out the menu until the employee greeted us. They mentioned that their system was not working, and we had to order from the app. The app had a bit of a lag when ordering, but there was BOGO which was nice. We waited about 30 minutes until we got our order. The restaurant became really busy and many customers were waiting for their food. It seemed like there was only one person working that night since the employee that greeted us also made our food. :( Aside from that, the food was great. We had the Berliner and Zesty Feta wraps with sweet potato fries and fried pita strips. They were all delicious!

I've been a customer of Spitz since they opened. The food is absolutely delicious and I not only come back for the delicious food, but also for the customer service. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to provide suggestions on their favorite items on the menu. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They are also very clean, not a napkin out of place. They also have a rewards program for every time you make a purchase.

Excited to try this spot out since we went to the location in SLC all the time before we moved down here, and love that it's nearby in DTC. Order food at the counter and take a number to the table type of spot with spots inside and out on the patio. Love that they have a whole vegan section! I got the vegan lavash wrap with falafel. It was jam-packed with ingredients and so flavorful! The fries are bomb. I love the crispy outside and soft inside, and the seasoning is just right! It's a chill spot with great food. Definitely don't sleep on trying them out if you're craving quick, delicious, mediterranean food.

Best restaurant in Chandler! Great Vegan menu. Wings are slept on. Berliner bowl is a must try.

This place is cute, but it's small. There's outdoor seating but it was too hot to sit outside. After all it is August in Arizona which means temperatures are 110 and above sometimes. I did not enjoy my meal at all. I had the OG Gyro and I must say I have definitely had better. I did the combo so it came with french fries. This is just a personal thing for me, but I don't like french fries with that coating on it. I just like french fries that are fried with salt. However, my husband ordered a wrap and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He also ordered some wings and he loved the wings. I actually tried the wings and they were good. My husband said that he would definitely go back, but I don't think I will be making a return trip.

Hidden gem! Yelp recommended! I tried it for first time and just loved the twist in food here. It's on busy road with limited parking around but worth a try. Food flavor was amazing and meats were marinated well. Would highly recommend as a go to lunch stop.

The Fried Pita Strips with Hummus were delish. I could not eat one only

We ordered to go. The food was all delish and amazingly flavorful. The four is because they forgot to add the sweet potatoes. Check order is complete. The food is amazing. I had the medi bowl and Greek salad. I did not go inside therefore no comments on the ambiance.

I came here on a whim thinking it was a healthier option while traveling for work. This place is located on a busy corner next to a coffee shop and parking is tight. Service is fast casual and the interior is extremely small, but there is a long patio (not sitting out there in August). I was quickly greeted and asked if I'd like a beer, of which I chose a juicy IPA. I ordered a side of hummus with one falafel and it was dense and yummy. The hummus is tangy, thick, and rich. When I inquired which bowl was most popular I was told to get the remix which I ordered with lamb. It comes with a lemon tahini and harissa sauce which were on point. 900-1000 calories for dinner and nothing fried - win! Check this place out. It's fire.

Friendly service, hip vibes, and good flavors! The wraps were solid and the pita fries were delicious. Definitely one of the better fast/casual places around.

The kofta was great as well but would definitely come back more for their shawarmas but it's definitely the best bang for your buck I also got some baba ganoush on the side to dip my fries in but unfortunately, I thought the baba ganoush was too lemony/there was too much sumac added so it wasn't as enjoyable. Most baba ganoush I've tasted in my hometown also had a smokey flavor to it from the eggplant so it really couldn't compare.

Visiting, from California, some dear friends in Mesa, we ventured through the triple-digit heat for about 20 minutes to get there. Even they as locals had never heard of the place, hidden amidst miles of chain stores and strip malls. But it wasn't long before we were all singing its praises and vowing to return. Across the board, every dish was peak: ultra-creamy and subtly garlicky hummus; silken, appropriately smoky baba ghannouj; perfectly crisp, tender, not-doughy-inside falafel; and herby tabbouli, light (but not vanishingly so) on the bulgur in the Levantine style. These basics always make or break such a restaurant, and they were all outstanding. Add to this seldom-seen delights like foul medamas (fava-bean soup), four variants of ghallabah (grilled meats or seafood), chack-chouka/shakshuka (eggs poached in tomatoes and onions), and two types of pita baked on premises and served from the oven--all in generous portions and at reasonable prices--and it's worth the drive wherever you are in Phoenix and environs. I've been here 3 or 4 times and everytime I feel as though the service is bad and the food is overpriced. It's really sad, but I want to like this place, but I can't. Also, they have a rewards program but my waitress didn't try to get me to sign up. I asked when I saw it. It's a pet peeve of mine. But- I guess she doesn't really care or offer it because she probably doesn't think people will come back. My friend who joined me tonight is Muslim and she needed a place to pray, but this place didn't have one. I was surprised to learn that tonight as well. Spend your money elsewhere.

Some restaurants chase trends. Others just quietly keep making really good food year after year…read more This is one of those places. I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.

Got the food fast and the rose water lemonade was good. Mango juice tasted like Jumex and that's yummy to me lol Waitresses were nice and attentive. Bathrooms and the floors in the dining area need some TLC. Hopefully the kitchens kept up with. Waters we did not drink. They should probably clean up the walkway to the bathroom too there was just a bunch of stuff. They also have a store attached which was cool. We didn't look but still cool. Chicken shawarma was bomb!

Living in a retirement state, I usually have to add salt to anything from a restaurant -- happy to discover that it wasn't needed. The soup was perfectly seasoned! I was reminded why I don't dine here more frequently, they put the 'meh' in Mediterranean. Starting with the ambiance, this place is looking old and weathered. Their store front is not very inviting. Once inside, you navigate through their dining area to the counter to order. The counter area looks more like an advertisement for other establishments...stickers, ads, coupons, notes and all sorts of motley items. The man who I think was doing three jobs in one (host, order taker, bathroom attendant) took my order and walked away. No friendly hello or enthusiasm of any kind. Once I took my seat I watched several people use their store just for the bathroom in the back...the back where there's no door separating the dining area vs. kitchen vs. warehouse vs. bathroom. People were standing in a line to use the restroom a foot from where my food was being made. I ordered a simple gyro sandwich with rice. The sandwich was pretty straight-forward: gyro slices, onions, tomatoes and tzatziki. When it arrive, there was no sign of tomatoes or onion...just different shades of brown drowning in too much tzatziki. I eventually found several onions and one tiny tomato underneath all the meat. Underneath...what a poor presentation. The rice was okay...nothing special. There was nothing here that would draw me back. Having several other Mediterranean food options within miles that I do enjoy has relegated this place to 'in emergency break glass' status.

The Vegetarian plate was also generous and was enjoyed by my friend. It included three crispy falafel, hummus, tabouleh salad, baba ghannoug, 2 stuffed grape leaves and tahini sauce with pita bread. We look forward to returning. Highly recommended for delicious Greek food and generous portions at a fair price!
