We recently tried Pita Jungle in Ahwatukee and enjoyed, so we want to try the Chandler location nearby. Arrived about little after 4:40pm on a Saturday. Parking can be challenging in this busy strip mall, although this time it was fairly quick and easy. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. We were offered a window seat overlooking the lake. Open kitchen, unique decor, up beat music and a nice view made for a great ambiance. It was about 1/3 full, but filled up in the next 30 minutes. We ordered the Hummus Trio and Chipotle Chicken pita pizza to start. The Hummus came with pita bread and was delicious. The chipotle chicken pizza was good. We next shared the Centurion Salad, which was flavorful but lacked ample Pepitas, pickled daikon and dressing. We also shared Mahi Mahi with jalapeño hummus and pita chips, although we swapped the chips for pita bread for a healthier version. We both really enjoyed it and was our favorite dish. Nice happy hour with house margaritas $4 every day, 3pm to 6pm. Fun times and healthy food at a reasonable price. We look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended! read more

Stopped by for a quick late evening snack on a Friday night. Ambiance here was causal, but lots of decor on the walls. You can also choose to sit outside on the patio, where there are lots of lights and a great view of a little man-made lake. I ordered the blue corn nachos (appetizer) for ~$13 while my boyfriend ordered the gyro for ~$11. The fresh, blue corn nachos came with a huge serving! Still had food to take home. My boyfriend liked his gyro too. Both entrees were pretty standard, however, we loved our non-alcoholic beverages as well (iced teas and lemonades). Both drinks were pretty sweet, BUT the cherry-on-top is that our waiter provided us with LARGE cups of our beverages to go! I absolutely love every time I come to Pita Jungle! The food had been consistently good for 10+ years and that is why I return every time I visit. But, now that I am a resident again I plan to visit more and check out their amazing gyros and hummus! I started out with their hummus platter with original, spicy, and jalapeño hummus. Every bite on top of the pita bread was so delicious and fresh! For my entree I got their falafel gyro with spicy falafel patties, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and yogurt sauce. Wow and wow again! Again Every bite was full of so much flavor and made me eager for the next! On top of this the service was amazing! My server was so kind and patient as I did not know what I wanted right away. We stopped into the Chandler location for their HH because my hubby loves the pita with thyme and olive oil, and I'm obsessed with the lemon soup off the throwback 1994 menu. From the time we walked in (2 adults and 2 children) Adan took the best care of us. He was sweet and patient. He answered all of our questions and had great suggestions when asked about the new options that we didn't know about. He was clearly busy but still stayed on top of what we ordered and requested. Stopped in on 6/6 for a quick takeaway meal. Was helped by Paige(?). After placing the order, I realized that they didn't accept Apple pay and I do not have my physical card. Paige says no worries and I can just take the food....WHAAAT?? I promise to call and pay over the phone when I got home, which I did IMMEDIATELY (I didn't know if that was going to come out her pocket). I get Paige on the phone and find out she wasn't expecting me to follow through, yet seemed unperturbed by that fact. In closing, I'll say that while I do not expect businesses to run this way on ANY kind of regular basis, this was one of those "reaffirming that good people are out there" moments. What a great promo for people with kiddos! We went and enjoyed a gyro wrap and a chicken shawarma wrap and the kids meal was free. This is on going for June and July. It really is the best because you get a break from cooking and the kids get a variety of options to choose from. Not only is it healthy but also delicious! The wraps were quite fulfilling and had an even mix of ingredients. The chicken thankfully was not too dry yet fully cooked. Score! The classic gyro was yummy as always. The add on soup of the day was an additional $2.99. It was a flavorful curry soup with chicken peas! The other entree I enjoyed in the past is the mahi mahi with pita chips. Get that if you're a fish lover. The place does get loud and echoey. So perk up your ears. There's plenty of indoor space to eat including booth and standard tables. Pita Jungle has been a nearby staple for MANY years. They are very consistent in quality and the value is there. Every now and again they will tweak the menu but they have had their staples consistent. Hummus is always a must. Theirs is always creamy smooth and perfectly seasoned. I like the dolmades but don't like to over order - everything is delicious. My favorite dish is typically the lavash chicken shawarma. Salads always satisfy and they are very accommodating with any special requests. Sorry I'm only now reviewing, not sure how I missed it! read more

Something about Pita Jungle makes me think im eating healthy. We come here generally when I've got a hankering for a Chicken Shawarma. The first bite is warm and so satisfying. And the Jalapeño Cilantro and Roasted Red Pepper Hummus combo is the best. I could eat that all by itself. I will sometimes enjoy The Botanist cocktail but more often than not I will go for their delicious and refreshing tea. There are numerous tasty options here. read more

I have gone to the Jungle maybe 4 times in 20 years. This is my second or third time at this location. And I was reminded of why it's been such a long time since the last time I've been here. The service is pretty good, the ambiance is fine. There is a nice view of the lake out of the window wall. But the food, just meh. The hummus trio with chicken. The chicken was dry and not seasoned that well. The hummus was fair but runny and you can get better hummus from a supermarket. My friend got a side of seared tuna to go with the chicken. Overdone and curry seasoned. She only ate a couple pieces. I got the gyro. Ten bucks for a few slices of gyro. I guess if you don't sell much gyro you can't afford to put much on the plate. Add fries. Another $5. I've reviewed a couple other places where you get far more for your $20 bucks than you do here. I know this place has a kinda cult following and they love it. Went to Pita Jungle on the lake in Chandler with another couple on Friday. Food was fantastic. The house standard hummus must be fresh and made on site as it was the best hummus we'd ever had. This was the three hummus standard platter. All our meals were outstanding and exceeded our expectations for dinner. We were here a bit early after our last meal so we weren't super hungry, but omg we had to taste all the food everyone ordered because it was so surprisingly good. Portion sizes were perfect with enough left over for lunches the next day. And on top of all this, our server Adan made the meal even more enjoyable by his enegetic enthusiasm, courtesy, politeness and perceptiveness. We were all remarking privately about how he was more than ready for a leadership position if that was what he wanted. Sure he will go far in the industry. Before we left, we all chatted with the manager about Adan's outstanding, above-and-beyond table service. Kudos to the company for hiring and retaining such oustanding team members. The service was great, our server was delightful as were the others that stop by to take used dishes, and the food was delicious. I had the chicken shawarma wrap with a salad. From the moment we sat down, she was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed. I placed my order to go. It wasnt long 15 minutes or so and my food was ready to go, properly packed and freshly made. The food is very authentic and tasty, the hummus very fresh and full flavored, the grilled chicken was also nicely seasoned and a good additional to the dish. The pita was also really good, I got an extra one and it was fresh and hot with a good crunch to soft ratio, and tasty.
