We were planning on team lunch and this place popped up. It's in desert ridge and relatively new. I went with Mediterranean bowl with sweet potato fries, and my colleagues went with wraps. The service was quick and accommodating. The bowl was pretty good, I liked the crunchy chickpea which gave a nice flavor, I felt the sauces were a little too tangy for my taste. The fries was good and the wraps were nice as well. Overall price is reasonable and perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Will be trying other things from the menu soon. read more

Disappointing. The restaurant looks cool and the cashier was friendly and accommodating. But the food looked more appealing than it tasted and 3 out of 4 orders were missing something. After ordering the Medi Bowl and all of our food except mine coming to the table, I was told that they were out of marinated garbanzos and pickled onions & carrots. So I ordered a different bowl which was basically lettuce with tomato, green peppers, onions and super hard (overcooked?) falafel which I couldn't cut with my fork. The wrap and Gyro we ordered did not come with Tzatziki sauce (as stated on the menu) so they gave us a side to dip into instead. We have wanted to try this place for a while and so we got it to go... I placed an order online... And.... It was meh. First, the good. The flavor of the wraps were good. The bowl my husband got was also flavorful. The fries were good... But cold. We ordered: Vegan falafel wrap combo without drink (they didn't give us the fries we ordered) Flavors were good, wrapped so that it was easy to fall out of you didn't watch it as you took it out of the bag. Street Cart Wrap combo without drink (they didn't give us the fries we ordered) Flavors were good but this was packaged so flimsy I almost dropped it pulling it out of the bag. It wasn't wrapped up securely and I almost lost it to the floor. It was also cold. Doner bowl: good flavors Falafel and hummus side - okay... But not worth the $2 Side of mixed meat - meat was dry and cold. 2 sides of fries - good, but cold. The food was not hot, in fact I was tempted to reheat it. They also botched our order and didn't include the side of mixed fries for either wrap. This place is super cute and trendy. The service and atmosphere is great, too. It's very casual and fast food, but packed with flavor. All orders were big and filled with everything you'd want in a wrap/bowl. The fries were so crispy and delicious. I would go back just for fries. However, all the food was delicious, filled with tasty sauces. The only thing is that I got chicken in my Remix bowl and it was all dark meat (like chicken shawarma) and it was pretty dry and looked like it may have been sitting out for a bit. Why anyone wouldn't give this place five stars is beyond me! This place was amazing. Will be coming often. The decor is retro and awesome and the ambiance is fun. I have to say very disappointed how quickly Spitz is starting to go downhill and skimp on items . Most restaurants start off giving amazing extras and always filling things to the max and slowly get less and less . I thought Spitz would go a little longer since they are still fairly new . They are one of my favorite places for Mediterranean food and I love their street fries (get them half / half and you'll never go back ) . What is very disappointing is that you pay for any extra dressing , which I guess I understand in this economic time , but If I am paying $1.25 for an extra dressing cup I expect it to be a full cup , not 1/3 and barely able to get anything out of it !! That's not good reason to make your customers mad and lose them for something very cheap on your end . Additionally we got my niece the kids quesadilla and she kept saying the cheese was weird ... after my sister and I tried it , it took awhile but figured out it was the Kraft cheese slices !! Those are not great cheese at any time but definitely not for a quesadilla! I hope these are one offs but If not I'll need to find a new go-to place read more

This is my third time visiting this restaurant-once near ASU and twice at the Goodyear location. I feel that while the food is good, there are issues with the service. My 3rd time visiting, my husband and I ordered our food and sat down with the flag they gave us at the register that to help the server to locate us. We sat and waited. And waited. And waited. We noticed after 40-45 minutes that people who came in after us were getting their food. We notified the young lady delivering the food (who also took our order at the register) to the tables that we hadn't gotten our food. She went back in the kitchen and finally came back 10 minutes after that and gave us our food. No apology or anything, so my husband asked what took so long? She answered that our food had been given to someone else. He asked "and they took it?" To which she replied yes. I asked her if I could please get another sauce. She went back to the kitchen and we waited. And waited. She finally came out and started wiping tables. No sauce for me, I guess? My husband got her attention and asked her if somebody else was going to bring the sauce? She said "oh, I forgot". When she came back with the sauce, I told her that we did not have a very good experience. She just looked at me. So I said "can you let your manager know that we won't be coming back again?" She just looked at me again. I would imagine the manager will never hear about it. It was very busy as it was a Friday at lunchtime, I get it! But this young lady was unapologetic and we just felt that was wrong. We paid-and even gave a tip prior to receiving our food- $37 just for food. No extras, no drinks. That was a lot of money for 2 people and such poor service. I sincerely hope that the manager sees this and is able to correct the service problems so other folks don't receive the same treatment. Delicious and more health conscious addition to desert ridge. I've seen so many places come and go from desert ridge over the years and hope this place is here to stay! I got takeout tonight after a movie and was not disappointed. I got a bowl that had rice, falafel, roasted chickpeas, corn, slaw, feta, and olives. I swear I ordered one without olives since I don't like them, but I was able to pick them off easily! They had my order ready quickly, my husband had a beer there while we waited! Opening weekend so anything goes, however the staff was able to handle the mob of us all without a lot of waiting. The Mediterranean inspired food is well seasoned and delicious! This fast casual restaurant has great decor and excellent music. They are apart of the Desert Ridge Sip and stroll program so you can take your drink outside of the restaurant and enjoy it while walking throughout the open areas of the mall. We have been coming back since first time we tried. Now fifth time and today a Friday. They are busier and still great service. Always greeted and helped with choosing our order. Did try mixed drinks today and they are good. Food is always great! Have tried the bowl and wraps berliner. By far the chicken wings are so good as well the fries seasoned. I've had Spitz several times in Utah and was pleased to see there was a location here in Phoenix. The cashier was nice and we had a pleasant conversation while I waited for my To-Go order but when I got home to enjoy my meal, I was sadly disappointed. My Street Cart Donor Wrap was severely under stuffed and did not serve the same flavor impact that it usually does as a result. Half a donor wrap is usually enough to fill me so I can save the other half for later, but today that was not the case. I give 4 stars because I know this Spitz can do better and match the excellence of its other locations in Utah. Kind of on the pricier side for just one item? It took almost 20 minutes for my one item to be ready! I thought that was ridiculous. Ok the good and the bad. The good..... the food was excellent very tasty bursting with flavor. Great job ! The bad I order my food at 6:05 at the counter for take out. One Boner Salad, a gyro and a dozen wings habanero Harrisa extra hot. Not a big order. I got my food at 7:15. An hour and 5 minutes. Several other customers asked fir refunds after over an hour wait. The restaurant is next to the movie theater so people are on a time schedule... clean it up kitchen I counted 9 people working the kitchen line and they averaged an order coming to the window about every 5 minutes.... Now it was opening weekend so I'll chalk it up to new staff and getting the kinks out. But seriously guy fix your kitchen because your food is bomb. Btw my wings had zero heat or sauce they forgot to sauce them they were Just plain and they were still amazing.
