This was the worst value $30 car wash I have encountered in my 60 years on planet Earth. The cleaning inside was cursory at best. There was still sand on the floors, and dirt and dust on the dashboard. The leather seats were not wiped. They tried to upsell me before we began. I wrongly assumed that the $30 wash would at least do a surface cleaning. Not true. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Be careful when using your credit card at the self wash! I had already added tokens and then was overcharged for the remaining balance on my card. I hate it when car washes use tokens. I wish there were other options for self car washes in the area. read more

When I got the hand wash & wax they used a machine to take the wax off, must have leaned on the buffer and put deep scratches on my bumper, circle scratches exactly like the buffer they use. Also, they stole a CD from the car. The took it right out of the jewel case and left the case empty. These were two separate times. Lets just say with the theft I'm done. 2 strikes and you're out. If you go don't expect a good job at all. Expect permanent scratches and possible theft. read more

I'm a loyal Splash customer and of the 3 I've been to, Stamford, Norwalk and this one in Darien, this is by far the worst. I've never seen a sloppier and more careless wiping job. Terrible experience last few times, reached out to management which was just a waste of time. Will not do business at any of there locations - shelton, Fairfield, stamford or Darien to name a few. They over charge and do an awful job, go to VIP in Stratford. Splash can't come close to VIP service and results. I am an unlimited customer and decided to give their express detailing a go. Let's just say that I will never go back to this location again! I had to buff out all of the spots of polish the attendant did not buff out once I got back to my office. Basically it was $30 wasted. Then to add insult to injury, I sent an email via their website to voice my concerns/complaint about this location and their repeated shortcomings, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears once again. Stay away from Darien! Go to Greenwich/Norwalk/Fairfield if you don't want to be consistently disappointed. read more

This place is a rip-off, just stay away. They overcharged me for a simple vacuum and exterior wash with shine tires. They also did not tell me that the exorbitant service that I did not ask for would take 45 minutes. I will only support local car washes, not Splash Car Wash chain. read more

I have never waited in line for a car wash, only to turn around and leave. My car got egged with one single egg last night and Splash told me the only wash that would remove it would cost me $70. The employee who told me this could not have been more rude or aloof either. Never again. Don't waste your time with this place, sounds like others have had the same experience based on reviews. By the way, I ended up going right next door to Darien Car Clinic and got Splash's $70 wash for $25 and they did a fantastic job. In and out in 20 minutes which was a bonus. read more

Worst place ever. Let's start with the cocky salesman who wore designer glasses and tried to convince me he was giving me a great deal on a inside and outside detail clean. I drive a two door small car (not much real-estate to clean). My wash cost me over $100. The first sign I should have picked up on was that he told me the clean would take less and an hour. Anyways, I left my car with this gentleman and told him specifically that I do not want tire shine to be put on my tires. I then paid and left. An hour later I returned to splash and this cocky salesman came straight up to me. He said my car was done and "you're going to take care of me right?" Basically he was demanding a tip. He said this multiple times to me, twisting my wrist to give him money and making me uncomfortable. When he brought me to my car I immediately noticed it was still dirty. It obviously went through the wash, but the mirrors and sides still had dirt. They also hand waxed the car basically caking the dirt in and leaving streaks. I then noticed my wheels had tire shine despite my asking not to use it. I don't like to complain so I didn't say anything, but the salesman continued to say "I did you up good you're gonna take care of me right?" When he opened my door to get my keys he realized he miss placed them and it took him five minutes to run around the building looking for them. When he finally gave them to me I got on the car to find my seats still soaking wet. Literally drenched. I had to leave my car running with the hot air blowing for two hours and it still wasn't dry. The interior panels were also drenched in the oil based cleaner they used. It looked and felt oily and rather then smell clean the car just smelt like chemicals. The best part is two days later I realize my passenger side floor mat is on the driver side and the driver side floor mat is missing. Worst experience ever. I highly don't recommend ever using this place - especially if you want your car detailed. It's a shame that this is what Darien has to offer. read more

On March 11, 2019 I went to splash car wash in Darien. I had a unlimited with the "works" membership. Every time I went to any of the splash car washes they would always do a fair job but it was winter so I wasn't real fussy. On March 11 I wanted the wheels washed because the roads had a lot of salt on them, as the car was going in to be washed they clean the wheels first so I watched them and they only cleaned one side and I told the cashier immediately so she went outside to get the manager. The manager his name is Christian Ruedaand he told me he cleaned the wheels and I told him nobody cleaned the wheels on the passenger side. We argued back and forth so the wheels were never washed. When the workers were drying the car I had someone get Christian to show him the dirty rims. He looked at them and said they'll wipe them off. But I wanted them washed then wiped off. We argued some more and I told him I was going to call the main office the next day and he said he would dial the number for me. I told Christian he was a wise ass and I was going to cancel my membership before the next renewal. He said why wait do it now and I said I would lose because I had 10 days left and Christian said he would give me a full refund for the month so I canceled and got my money back. I called the splash main office and spoke to Diana, she was nice and made sure I got my refund that I was entitled to, I even sent Daina video and pictures because I have a dash cam and it showed everything. And a picture of the rims and all she said was thanks for the video and pictures hope to see you at Splash again. It amazes me that a company and its employees can be so unprofessional and disrespectful and would rather return money than do the job they were paid to do. i hope that my experience at splash serves as a warning to others not to waste your time or money at Splash. read more

So I gave this place another shot, and once again, WORST experience. I am very OCD so I checked my windows before I got out of my car. After the car wash I go to put groceries in and notice my back mat is wet, so I thought maybe they washed it. Then I move my car seat, which is soaking wet and notice my leather seat is all wet and now turning a grey color from the water. I used to love splash, but after years of coming here I've finally decided that it's just a grossly overpriced mediocre car wash. I got my car washed here today - the "basic" handwash is $18 and they did a terrible job. I was there in the middle of the day and it wasn't busy at all, so there's really no excuse for a half-assed effort. They quickly swipe the vacuums and swipe their rags, so basically every corner is still smeared with dirt. I just ran my finger on the edge of my bumper and it came up black. For almost twenty bucks, I don't expect to have to re-wash the car myself. read more

I came back to Splash after these last few brutal days of snow and they did an excellent job. The interior was cleaned to perfection and I felt like I was stepping in to a brand new car. Of course the exterior was also treated very well. While my initial experience was not the best, I am glad I came back to try again. If I could give 1/2 of a star I would, and the only reason I would do that is because my car actually went through the wash. Let me break it down for you. I pulled up and told them what I wanted. The wheel and tire package ($23.99). That's already expensive. The place just down the street charges that price for the "ultimate" package. I was told I should get a different (more expensive up sell) package because it would make the car cleaner. SERIOUSLY? A: my car is 5 weeks old, so pretty much water and soap would make it look showroom clean. And B: the whole point of a car wash is to get it clean, I'm not paying more because they want to spray some junk on my dashboard. Next, they didn't even clean my wheels (wheel and tire package.) They did however put armor all on the tires. Here is the worst part. Everything in my car was moved: the seats, the mirrors, and the steering wheel. But beyond that, they didn't dry half of my car. What's the point of a wash if there are water spots left everywhere? I have gone to this location a bunch of times and it has been getting progressively worse. The employees are lazy, and the manager was watching videos on the computer instead of making sure the employees were doing a good job. This was the LAST time I use splash. Just note that I am not looking for anything for free, this is just to inform you potential customers that you will most likely be paying full price for a half-ass job. read more

Five stars for a five-star detailing service. Just to be clear, I never used the regular car wash service there so my opinion relates only to the five star detailing there. It's absolutely worth the drive from White Plains (good 30 minutes). The customer service is absolutely amazing and the quality of the wash is absolutely the best in the 30-mile radius. Hi, Today was my second trip to Splash Darien in a month, with two different cars, and my last. The self-serve equipment is un-maintained and decrepit. Both trips the wheel cleaner was broken and on this I had to repair the foaming polish gun myself, running out the clock with my car covered in pink slime. The rinse water is un-filtered and FILTHY, after a $4 4minute rinse my black new car looked like it had been spit on by milk-drinking children. Nothing is more infuriating than a trip to this place. I've had the regular wash only to have to clean off all the oily residue left on the windows from their greasy rags. They also missed spots on the dash. Mainly I go during the winter since it's the only do it yourself place this side of Norwalk. I can't believe how much they've jacked the price up. $10 for 6 minutes? Ridiculous. And after, have to wait to get into the road because the cars they have sticking out of the wash are being dried and seemingly pampered for tips while employees argue with each other. I stopped by this local car wash today and was blown away by their service. I have a white BMW and it consequently always gets dirty and I've been to a few other car washes and was less than pleased with the results so I figured I'd give this place a try. I selected the Full Service wash and I must say had quite a blast inside shooting my car with soap with my girlfriend as we waited. The car came out with some oil on the front bumper; clearly someone had rubbed up against it while hand washing it. An employee quickly noticed and apologized and not only removed the oil mark but also ensured he buffed it and waxed over that spot properly. He promptly personally put my car through again to ensure it was perfect. They even went all out and cleaned my rims and did all the small things other car washes forget to do once they take your $. It's the small details that matter. I must say I don't know why there are low reviews on here because this was an organized, efficient operation and I will most certainly return here to detail my car once it gets warmer. Went there a few weeks ago, I just wanted a wash and the guy bullied me into getting a wash and vacuum for $70, the guy literally wouldn't take no for an answer and was arguing with me. 45 minutes later I get my car back only to see my car is still dirty inside and out. They missed a whole bunch of spots around my cup holders and center console, dash was all dusty and there was still dirt all over the floor in the front, back, and on my seats. Terrible wash job. I brought two cars there and got the additional interior treatment in addition to the regular wash. Spent $65 on each car and there was still dirt on the inside and bird poop on the outside after they were done. Expensive, and no concern about doing a good job. They just want to rush through it. Went once car came out crappy (inside). When I complained (which I hardly do) I got the run around.

I went here today (6/20/18) and I won't be returning to the Darien location- they left spray on the inside of the back window un-wiped, didn't wipe off the car properly so there were water spots EVERYWHERE (windows/mirrors included), barely cleaned the mirrors, and definitely didn't wipe down/vacuum the inside. The job didn't take long at all, and now I know why. I should've just done it myself. read more

I have been a long term customer of Splash. I go to Norwalk, Wilton, Darien depending on my travel... I always find the greeters to be courteous and friendly. The service is well worth the price. You get vacuuming in every corner of the car and windows washed inside and out. The wash is excellent and the team attacks the the car to dry and polish front to back. Paid $79.98 and waited over an hour for "full service, super interior, wax/polish detail" and terribly dissatisfied. Bug spots on windshield, dirt/dust clearly evident in interior, missed spots on all lower fenders, dirty wheels, ETC! B/f leaving, I pointed out numerous uncleaned areas to mgrs Manny & Neil - both nice guys - but they're clearly more concerned w/ maximizing revenues than delivering the customer quality work. Manny said, "Come back, ask for me, and I'll take care of you." I said, "In light of the lousy job you guys have done today, why should I come back? Why not correct it now?" I never got an answer and decided, enough is enough. Another customer told me he thought they routinely did a bad job, but it's one of the only car washes in the area, thus the problem. Several months ago, they had to run my car thru the wash a second time because it came out dirty. I obviously decided to give them a second try; I should have known better. So, finally my lesson has been learned: At Splash, your wallet gets soaked, and your car remains dirty. Bottom line: Stay away! Get out the hose at home before you get hosed. A bad experience every time. The only reason I continued to go back was because it's the only car wash in the area. They constantly try to get you to upgrade to a more expensive wash/package/whatever, but the quality of the job is always horrific: I swear my car has come out dirtier than before the wash on at least one occasion. I've watched many of the employees simply drag a filthy rag across my windows and that's it. My dash is always still covered in dust and I could do a better job vacuuming the carpet with one of those little handheld vacuums. Also, they take forever, just for your car to come out looking like complete crap. Need I say more? Be kind to yourself (and your wallet) and find another car wash. read more
