We wen to this water park for the first time on a Saturday afternoon, It was a great deal of fun and much cheaper than i thought. I have a big family some just visiting for the summer but all 9 of us had a great time the ages range from Kids 4-10 and teens 15-16 and no once did anyone complain. We ate well before we got there so the only thing i bought was a few drinks which didn't seem to pricey to me. another thing i liked was life guards and free life jackets. They are tucked away behind a residential neighborhood in Manassas and this place has a lot of things potentially good going for it but one big negative in regards to value for the dollar. It's not super huge but has enough of a variety of slides and pools for everyone from small kids to adults. There are a ton of life guards. They are all over the place and you can feel safe bringing your kids there. The problem is the price. For myself, a teenager and a 5 year old it was about 80 bucks for tickets, a locker and lunch. While that's to be expected at larger places considering they are on the small to medium arena and the food is fairly bad stadium style it just felt like it was not a good value. read more

Coming back here was very nostalgic for me. I not only lived in the townhouses directly behind the park from ages 2-15 (fourth one in in all the pictures ;) ) but I also swam/coached for the swim team from 5-20 AND worked there as a lifeguard for 2 seasons. This park was home for me. Many many MAAANY seasons with season passes. I went back for the first time in over 2 years and it felt like an old friend. I love the new additions to the park! As for some of these other yelp reviews complaining of the lifeguards for not keeping people under control. These are teenagers trying to get some job experience and work with their friends. Not people trying to make lifeguarding a career. Also, have you ever tried to tell a dad throwing his kid around to stop it as a 16 year old? Yeah they literally just laugh at you and call you stupid and then complain to your manager that you're bullying lol. I think this park does a great job. It's not easy to work with the public in Manassas. People are entitled and think rules don't apply to them (i'm looking at you every person swimming in regular clothes.... and people trying to get out at the steps at the lazy river!!!!) but they do a good job with how young the staff is. I brought my boyfriend along with me this trip who had never been, and he wants to get season passes next year. It really is a lot of fun, and can be relaxing with other people respect you too. Went for first time (and first time to any water park) on a Saturday afternoon in mid-June. Kids are 9 and 14. Smaller park than I expected. But better than I expected. Much cleaner than I expected. I liked the place. The guards were professional and rotate often among the various stations to keep them alert, I supposed. I even saw management toss a dummy infant (like a doll) down a slide to test the guard at the bottom who did not know it was coming at that time, who indeed saw it and "rescued" the "drowning child" quickly. In other ways, I saw a great deal of discipline, good management, and multiple layers of "process" to keep these younger people (the guards) professional when their natural instinct would not be inclined in that direction. It was almost militaristic and impressive. As an aside: the guards are not there to entertain adolescents nor to be cuddly with children. This is not your neighborhood pool. They are there to stay alert, keep order in an almost-chaotic, public, and large venue, and to save lives. They seem well trained, well disciplined, and doing a good job. If you're not a jerk, and if your child is not a spoiled brat, I can't imagine having any issues with the guards. They are too busy to care about you if you're not obviously out of line. No, you cannot do anything your little heart desires. Live with it. Looked like lots of lounges and chairs for sunning. Had an OK funnel cake and barely-OK nachos. Not great food, but not terrible prices. You can of course go back to the car to eat something you brought, but you can't take it into the park; they check any bags/totes you bring in. Locker rental is $5/day, and they are located in at least 3 different locations around the park; they give you a key. The biggest 4-story slides were out of order (disappointing). Fun anyway. Of course the water is chlorinated. Why complain about it? I'm glad of it. It was a pleasant afternoon. Later in the summer, if it's very much more crowded, who knows. I have no idea. Today, there were a lot of people, but it didn't feel crowded. The maximum wait for a slide was perhaps 8 minutes but often 1-2 minutes. The lazy pool thing with the inner tubes in the swift current was relaxing and our favorite. read more

I actually don't have any issues to complain about. We got here 10 minutes after they opened an the line was massive but they got everyone in fairly quickly. I never felt over crowed and the life guards are attentive and polite. Even though we packed sandwiches to eat out at the car (no outside food allowed) the food pricing is not bad at all. You can 4 dogs, 4 fries, & 4 med. sodas for $21. I had to speak to a couple of rowdy teens rough housing my nephew but that was a nonissue ... Put that fire out quick. we've been to a few water parks in the area (signal bay, volcano, atlantis, etc) but splashdown is our fav so far, mainly cause it does have features for little and big kids. i have short 8 yr old twins (46 in) but are strong swimmers (on swim team since 4), they were allowed to take the swim test and yay, allowed on all the rides (w/out life jackets)!! such a nice perk, they were thrilled! 2 big rides, 2 cannon ball rides, and 2 medium twister slides were a good variety for bigger kids. they also enjoyed the obstacle water course, regular lap pool and smaller kids area with squirts and water features. there's even a sand area w/volleyball court. the adults were able to laze in the lazy river and tons of food options, woody's pizza was restaurant not snack bar quality. just remember, you cant bring in your own food. outside the water park, there are tennis courts, soccer fields and a playground- really great park land! we got there early at opening and left at 4pm, but park never got overly crowded, stil many lounge chairs available. only complaint is, even with all the lifeguards and staff, i never saw once anyone check the water quality!! read more

Great water park! Not as busy as some of the other waterparks in the area. Definitely something for the whole family. Its a little deceiving when trying to get there. You have to drive through a residential area which makes you question the GPS but keep going... its actually out there! I have small children so the kiddie area was great. We attended a birthday party there and I dont have one complaint. The life guards are very attentive and some may say they have some silly rules like no sitting on the edge of the kiddie pool area but overall it was a great experience. Love that life vests are provided for the non swimmers and smaller kids. Awesome place on a great summer day. Note: At the food court they offer a variety of items and you can pay with cc or debit. The funnel cake place takes cash only. We did not see an ATM there at all. Overall, great place for the kids. read more

Splashdown greatly exceeded our expectations as this is an extremely nice waterpark, nicely hidden in the back of a neighborhood. Admission fee of $15.25 adults and $12.50 kids is much more reasonable than the larger amusement parks. They had various areas in the park to accommodate all ages and swimming abilities. The staff was very attentive and the life guards took their job very seriously. I personally witnessed them jump into the water three times to rescue ADULTS that would go down the slide into the 12 foot deep water, and were not strong enough swimmers to swim 8 feet to exit the pool. The park is not huge but its big enough to make about a 8 hour day of it. The smaller size made it more manageable for me and allowed for my kids to go in different directions and I was still able to keep them in my line of sight. The Lazy River is very relaxing, but it gets busy at times. Of course the more busy it gets the more hi energy kids you have in the Lazy River and you may get bumped a time or two, but the life guards do an excellent job of reinforcing the rules and making sure everyone is safe and having a good time. I would definitely return, and I would recommend Splash Down to other families in the DMV looking for something to do for a nice day trip. read more

Water is salty and dirty. There was so many flower pedals in the lazy river and rocks in the pool! It's super crowded and small. What a waste of $15. Can we get a refund; Overpriced like....! I use to come here when I was younger and this wasn't how I remembered it too be. Don't think I'm going to be coming back. read more

Overall it is an ok waterpark with some grass, shady areas and chairs. I love the waterslides. There is also a medium size swimming pool and a lazy river. But there could be some improvement: Pricing: I find 15 dollars expensive and you are not allowed to bring food inside (which I guess is standard with most public swimming pools in the USA). For the last 2 hours from Monday to Friday you pay 9 dollars which I find much more reasonable. Changing area: They have 5-6 showers and in most of them the curtain doesn't close right. I miss some simple rooms which you can lock and just change your cloth instead of balancing around with my bag in a shower or even go to a restroom. It is not much fun. Lazy River: We loved the lazy river last year. With some patience we usually would be able to get one of the "chair" tubes and it was so relaxing!!. Unfortunately this year I have seen only one of them floating around. What happened to them? They are so much nicer as the regular inner tubes. To try and sit on top of them is a task in itself and they are just uncomfortable. The lazy river was our favorite thing to do but not anymore. Please bring the chair/Sit'n Float Tubes back instead of just the inner tubes and give people a choice! Be aware the entrance to the lazy river where you can get a tube is not an exit. So if you bring your shoes and drop them in this area be prepared to burn your feet on the way back because you basically walk around the whole thing again. This could be done better. Or use the exit area to begin with and try to grab an empty tube floating by. But if you visit the park for the first time this is not really clear. In general: like mentioned in other reviews there are some stone/small branches on the swimming pool floor, especially the area where you go in and out of the lazy river. The big pool is around medium size (not so different as what you will find in some apartment complexes), there is not an area for people to swim laps but with that many people it probably can't be expected. read more

Nice place for kids and adults. The facility is very safety conscious. One problem is they cant control the dumb parents that let their kids run wild with no respect for others and go unsupervised. But the facility itself is very clean and well maintained. The food is just ok but I think that is to be expected. All in all, good summer fun on a hot day. read more

Safety violations galore. Got hit, pushed and splashed by a group of unsupervised punks in the LAZY LAGOON playing football. I said something to lifeguard who was standing on side and he just pretended Like he didn't hear me. Then, staff member who was not a lifeguard or educated in life vests put a vest for 50-90 lbs on my 35lb daughter and she slipped out of it and nearly drowned. I had to jump in a save her because the lifeguard didn't see her. Then, the same kids from the LAGOON came walking by us, still playing football. Nearly knocked people off the sidewalk and almost hit someone with the ball. Lifeguards need retraining and management needs to crack down on the parent/guardian supervision. And definitely a dress code. I saw way too much of girls under the age of 18. read more

Need a place to cool down and entertain your kid(s) during the summer? Well this is an affordable and enjoyable place to do just that. It's only $15/person and is large enough to keep your kid busy for hours, yet small enough to keep track of them without chasing them around everywhere. An added bonus is the amount of lifeguards positioned throughout the park to ensure the safety of everyone. To keep you/your children entertained, there are: -6 waterslides ranging in height -a lazy river -a lap pool -little tyke wading area with fountains, ect. -volleyball/beach areas -log walk and lilypad crossing by the activity pool No outside food or drinks are allowed. However, the food and drink options at the snack bars within the facility are affordable (compared to other amusement/waterparks). I believe I paid about $7 for a large salad with grilled chicken. With that said, there are also healthy choices available to anyone not trying to eat pizza and ice cream. Parking is plentiful, lines getting into the park can be long but move quickly, life vests are available for those that need it, plenty of chairs to lay out on (especially if you come early to claim a spot) and the place is kept pretty clean for a public swimming facility. I went here yesterday (Memorial day). Overcrowded. There's only 6 slides, each with huge lines, only of them sizable. Their lazy river is short and unexciting. The most exciting thing about it was for a brief period of time we had a huge group of college age kids who were obviously high as kites in front of us. For food - horrible, horrible, service. I decided on a kid's meal at the pizza place. The "pizza stick" was the size of my index finger, only slightly fatter. It took them 10 minutes to take my order - that doesn't count waiting in line. Then at the Dippin Dots, they say on the stand they have shots of espresso - which I wanted, because I hadn't slept the previous night. I get through the line only to be told "oh sorry, we don't actually carry that". It's the very beginning of the season. Couldn't you have thought about that and changed it over the summer? The only plus side I saw - a lot of hot guys who were around my age or slightly older (I'm college age). Some of them had some awesome ink, too, and I got a couple recommendations for tattoo artists when I asked some people. read more

I think everyone in Manassas was there with their entire family. I can't blame them our car thermometer was reading a 110*. I felt extremely sad and frustrated for the young people who worked there, the adults would not follow their directives and some of the children too. The lazy river, could be renamed survival river, kids and adults were pushing and jumping and disturbing those of us who just wanted to relax and enjoy the water. People please do not link inter tubes, some were 7 people deep, and would bottle neck and trap the rest of us. I would suggest two lanes if possible, one for tubes and one for swimmers. I loved this place. I took my son here on a very hot day. I was afraid it wouldn't be a lot for him to do because he is only five. They had smaller slides for the little kids. He had a blast! It's almost MEM Day! We can't wait. This is a good place. We have been here at least once a year for about 6 years I guess. My kids loved it when they were 5 and 8, and even now they love it when they are 11 and 14. Bring their friends so they can have people to hang out with while you sit back and RE-LAX in the sun. ah.....it's great. I'm a penny pincher but I don't mind the cost for this at all. Food cost? eh.. just do it. Or eat before you get there Or, like others were saying, there are picnic tables in the park o/s of the pool area. Bring Sandwiches, bucket o' chicken, water and a take a break before going back in for round two of an all day Splash Down. Lazy River, slides, basic swimming pool, volley ball net, sand pit area, shelter area. Let me tell you when all is said and done those kids will be asleep in the backseat before you hit 234! *Couple things to note. Lines are long to get in. They do check your bags. Keep your receipt so if you go out you can come back in. (This cannot be overstated!) Wear comfortable slippers/flip flops or shoes because walking around on the concrete all day tears - your - feet - up! Ouch! gotta tippy toe. Bring hats and sunglasses. You know what? Bring a book! As long as your kids don't act like idiots in there, you are good to chill out and let them play. Though there are lifeguards there, parents should be responsible for thier kids and their kid's friends behavior. read more

Im a fan of this place. Not a fan of the price @15.00$ youch. Well the park isnt huge and thats a good thing, because I can keep track of my child without running around. I must admit there arent alot of water slides, but there are plenty of lifegaurds and that keeps me at ease. There are plenty of food sources including diping dots and other snacks but be ready to break out the wallet. I will revisit alot during the summer. read more

Nice waterpark although a bit pricey. No outside food and drink allowed so make sure to bring plenty of cash. Took my 8 year old and two toddlers and they had a great time! Lots of lifeguards around and while it was a little crowded at first, the crowds thinned out about 2 hours before they closed at 8pm (we went on a Saturday). Overall a good time! read more

We perhaps didn't go on the best day, First saturday of the season, so was bound to be a bit crowded. But wow, they really should limit intake. you could barley move. and the price was very high for such a small water park. Anyway, we had visitors out so we thought we'd give it a try. The lazy river is fun, providing you don't get too crammed with people. But mainly I just wanted to point out the rudeness of a staff member, "Zach F" When we asked where the toilets were he glared at us and then looked away, completely ignoring us. Now I apologise, of course, if he is deaf or something. But if not, then that should be addressed. There is absolutely no need to be quite that rude to a customer. read more

Cool small place for the kiddies. Not too big..They have a 6 water slides catered to feet of water. My kids really enjoyed themselves. The have nice variety of food. They even had a meal plan for a family of 4 which was very reasonably price. They also have so many lawn chairs set up under tents for people go launch and kick back. We will definitely be back. Been coming here for a few years now and have to say it's not the same....the food service is just horrible ....takes an act of Congress just to order food ...I realize it's kids they hire but they obviously should have adult supervision ! If they aren't going to either hire more efficient workers 'how about at least giving us the option of bringing in our ow m food ! Rest rooms were disgusting ! They even had a sign that said closed for cleaning for a few minutes ....not sure what they did during the times the bathroom was closed but they sure didn't clean it! Hopefully management will take a look at some of these services before they start losing customers ! read more

4.5/4.75 stars I took my son to Splashdown for the first time last weekend, and we both really enjoyed it. It has more features for various age ranges than either Pirate's Cove or Great Waves, the pools we most often frequent. Last year, we went to a similar pool, the Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole in Fairfax, and I was disappointed. Why? Because although Water Mine has a lazy river like SplashDown, it has fewer "big kid" slides and almost no room for an adult to swim more than two strokes. SplashDown is much more spacious, boasting a 4.5 foot-deep pool with a few lanes (opposite the thunder slides) and a 3.5 foot-deep pool attached to the smaller corkscrew slides. These are in addition to the four-story corkscrew slides, a paddling pool (with its own slides for small tots), and a lagoon that enters the lazy river. We didn't eat anything at SplashDown, but they appear to have all the usual pool fare--chicken nuggets, pizza, ice cream, etc.--at reasonable prices. There were at least two sets of bathrooms (both sets reasonably clean), which I appreciated; no need to pull my son out of the water and traipse all the way across the grounds for potty breaks. The only reason I didn't rate SplashDown five stars is due to locker prices. $5 for an "all-day" locker is a bit pricey IMHO, especially when other parks charge between .50 and $1.00! Note: Getting to SplashDown requires visitors to go through a residential neighborhood. To avoid a speeding ticket and show respect for residents and their safety, I set my cruise control to 25 mph to make sure I didn't exceed the 30 mph limit. We didn't see any police but wouldn't have been surprised to find a speed trap. All in all, the kiddo and I had a great time and look forward to coming back next summer! read more

We go to Splashdown at least once a summer and it's a great place. The slides and lazy river are a lot of fun and it's also a nice place to sit under an umbrella and read. It is clean and attractive and the lifeguards do a good job maintaining order and keeping everyone safe. We go on weekdays and while there are plenty of people it does not feel crowded and it's never a problem finding a chaise. Weekends are probably more crowded. read more

Very disappointed in the lifeguards I jad to jump in to grab my daughter while two lifeguards stood there chatting to each other! Seriously you guys also on a separate visit I saw a similar incidents with a mother parent and child not to mention on the kiddie slides children were going down on top of each other and the lifeguards were staring off into space very unsettling considering the kiddie part should have thw most attention as most small children are unable to swim read more
