Took my 2.5 yr old to the waterpark at Centreville on a weekday and had a great time! There is a baby pool and a splash pad area for younger kids. Then there is the pool with deeper water and the huge water slides. It is much bigger than Pirates Cove at Lorton and at a non-crowded weekday, you can have the place to yourself. We spent about 2.5 hours here and my little one napped all the way back home! Food can be improved. The menu is American fast food and it is pricey. Bathroom and changing rooms are not the cleanest. The ones in Pirate Coves are better sanitized. Will come again and recommend! read more

TLDR: not worth the 45 minute drive from Arlington but a decent option for the under 10 crowd. Atlantis Water Park is currently, although that changes tomorrow, the only NOVA water park open on the weekdays. Hours today 11-6. Under 2 is free and over 48" is $9.50. I believe there are in/out privileges. This is a really basic water park. The centerpiece is a large pool with a tube slide and an open slide. There is a spray area with a big bucket. Lastly, there is a kiddie pool that has a sand box next to it. There's a cute fish slide in the pool. There are some jets but nothing fancy. Water is 2 feet max. One thing I noticed is there is no natural shade. Unless you are under an umbrella, you're in the sun. There is a food shack but we didn't visit it. The website says you can't bring your own food; however, nearly everyone I saw had something from home. You can bring water toys here too! The locker rooms are small but it's manageable. As a toddler, this was great! I don't think it was worth 45 minutes in the car though. I think anyone over 10 may get bored here as it's highly geared toward the younger set. read more

Love the water park and have been coming for years. However, recently the past year or so the cleanliness is not up to par. Bathrooms/locker room stays a mess/dirty. Hairballs, toilet tissue, and very smelly; just very unpleased about that and expect if they are making at least $13 a person even for those who aren't swimming they should have the place decent enough for their guests. read more

Worst water park experience ever. I took my 6 year old to this park and we are never going back again. The bathrooms and snack bar were filthy; and the employees behind the counter expressed very unprofessional behavior by helping themselves to the snacks, drinking the fountain drinks and leisurely making conversation with each other while ignoring customers. The water itself was fine but the lifeguards were some of the rudest people I have ever met. I normally understand how much lifeguards have to deal with trying to maintain the rules with little kids, but these people were just outright rude. Thankfully we had gotten out of the pool before someone had defecated in it. I do not blame the park for this incident BUT my problem is that they opened the pool up 20 MINUTES after they had fished it out. I'm aware that the amount of chlorine that is supposed to be put into a pool in order to clean the water fully is dangerous for human skin. So it's either they didn't clean the water, or they let people in at dangerously high chlorine levels. I have a friend who is a lifeguard and after telling them this, they went on to say that if this happened at their pool, it would be shut down for at least 2 hours if not the whole day. I wouldn't really call this a true water park, more like an outdoors swim area with multiple pools, slides, a sand pit, and a water bucket drop. When you first drive in, you are stopped and asked to pay the $8 car fee. In addition to the car fee, there is also an entrance fee or your ticket to go in for $8 as well. Be smart and either eat before you go into the water park, or make plans to eat around the area afterwards! I was very disappointed in the food, the burger on the menu was falsely advertised to come with toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc.), but after placing the order and specifying which toppings, we were shocked to see nothing but a dry low quality processed meat patty and two buns. If you do need to get food, the best deal would probably be the 2 hotdogs and french fry combo for around $7. The area is pretty spacious and have a lot of lounge chairs as well around the perimeter of the water park. There are also quarter lockers in the locker room where you put quarters in to store your belongings for the day if you don't have anyone to watch the bags. read more

The pool is nice and has a lot of age appropriate sections. A kiddy pool and 2 foot swim area for the smaller ones. A super sized splash park for all ages, and two water slides for the older kids. The sand box is also a nice touch. My complaint being the cleanliness. While the pool is fine, the bathrooms are the complete opposite. Shower are full of hair and God knows what else's. I went Memorial Day weekend and exactly one week later the same dirty forgot swim diaper was in one of the bathroom stalls and the showers (20 minutes past opening) were filled with hair clogs. Also the no outside food is BS. I would be fine with this if their snack shack served some healthy options, but all they have is the french fries and frost bitten chicken finger kind of foods. Seriously, why exactly can't I bring in a few Cuties and PBJs for my toddlers. read more

This is a nice water park hidden in the heart of a nice regional park - Bull Run. The pool is very large with a couple of small water slides for use by young children and 2 larger slides for older swimmers. It also has a cafe with decent food. Nothing special, but they serve burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. And the price of the food is really inexpensive. But the thing I was really impressed with was the caliber of the lifeguard staff. They're located all around the pool, the baby pool area, the water slide area, and even at the area where the big bucket of water would pour down on people. In the 4 hours my family and I were there, the lifeguards saved 6 kids. SIX!! What got me, was how inattentive the parents were if their children. They're lucky the lifeguards were there. And yes, every save was actually a child in distress. The price to get in is around $8, but if you're camping at the park, you only pay $4. Definitely highly recommend. read more

Okay well if you want to be cheap and bring your own picnic lunch go to your local pool. If you want to go to a huge water park with a 30 story slide go to King's Dominion. I am in love with this place. I was there for a friend's kid's birthday party and brought my 10 month old daughter. It wasn't incredibly crowded --- it features 3 large pools and a play jungle gym/swim area. The baby pool was very clean -- 1 ft deep all around. I was able to sit in the water (although it was a little chilly) and hold my daughter while she splashed around in the water. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. They provide life vests for no extra charge (at least I hope those were free because I definitely took one off the rack to put on my kid but then decided I didn't need it). The grounds are very clean as are the pools, and the food looked delicious (they have funnel cakes!!!!) I'll be back next weekend with another friend. I'm super psyched! read more

Great place to take the whole family. The kiddie pool was a plus. Overall the park size is ideal. Didn't have to look hard for my wife on the other side of the park and every pool had water slides for every age. There is even a large jungle gym with water spouts for the children. The only down side is that no outside food and inflatables are allowed. Definitely a great place to go back too. read more

We came on a weekday right at opening and were in line with at least 3 large summer camp groups. There is plenty of seating all around but we opted for the quieter space around the kiddie pool (which is gated off for kids 6 and under). There a good amount of options for swimming, splashing and relaxing. Concerns: The lifeguards are very, very difficult to hear and really do need some sort of megaphone as they end up repeating themselves. Food choices are abysmal resembling food found at a county fair and while outside food is not permitted (we didn't know until we arrived) we brought in veggies, fruit, and other healthy snacks. Either healthier options need to be available or the restriction of bringing food in should be lifted. Pricing: Average as far as local waterparks go, no complaints. There are also Groupon or Certifikid deals available on occasion so watch out for those if you're looking for some savings. Bottom line: A good option on a hot summer's day, but there are a few others in the area I would visit before coming back. read more

I wish Management would make rules against the obnoxious people who insist on throwing balls back and forth in the pool. Last Sunday, there was a group of 7 loud teenagers completely monopolizing the deep end for hours, throwing balls back and forth, the length of the pool! If you got in between them, you had a real chance of getting hit...one woman did. The lifeguard said nothing! They were shouting obscenities and calling each other racial slurs. Completely disgusting. Acting like they own the pool and had no consideration for others. The problem at this Waterpark isn't the pool itself, it's the classless people that visit. read more

We visited last Saturday for the first time. The park is awesome, not to crowded and fairly clean. Love the activities for the little once :-) , the only down side is they will not allow ANY food or drinks, not even water and snacks, but their coffee shop is too busy and no good food! All fast food not good! My son had the pizza, half way eating the pizza we noticed it was molded ! And they don't really sell any snacks. You can't even bring water. I wish that part can be address otherwise it is a great family place. read more

The pool is huge so there is at least room to move around in the chaos. My 4 year old had a great time on the kid slides. That is where my positive review ends. The bathrooms/locker room area is not only disgusting and unsanitary, but extremely dangerous. There is about a quarter inch layer of water, hair, and sludge all over the floors at all times which is slippery as hell. there are no mats (like one might find in a restaurant kitchen) and it's clear there is never even an attempt at mopping any of it up to create a safe walkway. I am 8 months pregnant and almost fell about 4 times just walking into the park through the locker rooms (you are forced to enter through there, which is awful). there is nothing for one to grab on to either. this is a LAW SUIT waiting to happen. God knows if I fell and something awful happened, my goal in life would be to own this place and burn it to the ground. also, get your lifeguards some megaphones. they blow the whistles constantly, but no one can hear what they are saying, so its completely ineffective and just obnoxious. read more

We started visiting this water park a few years ago since it's close by, and just went back again today. Adults now cost $8.50 and kids are $7 each. Cheaper than Splash Down or Water Mine, but keep in mind there are fewer slides and things for older kids to do. There is a "kiddie" pool that's about a foot deep, with a small slide. There is a very large pool, which I really enjoy. The depth of this one goes from 3 ft to 5.5 ft, has roped off areas, a singular small slide and an "island" in the middle with two medium slides. One of the things I find very strange is that the water for the slide is ice cold! The pool temp is nice and refreshing, but why does the water slide have to be freezing? There are also two large tube slides for the older kids/adults to enjoy. All of the pools were clean and maintained. And there is a "sprayground" area with one of those big buckets of water that tips over every few minutes. It's the most exciting thing at the park with lots of fountains and sprays. I even let myself get doused several times by the bucket! Some of the negatives: 1. Soooo many summer camp groups! The City of Fairfax Summer Camp must have every kid who lives in Fairfax City enrolled! There were literally about 150 kids that trooped in, which made the pool a little crowded in the shallow areas for awhile. Thankfully, they don't stay long and were out of there by 3 pm. 2. The women's restroom/locker area. When the camp kids take over, it's hard to walk through. Also, there are only SIX bathroom stalls, and TWO were broken. This left only four available toilets for all the females in the place! Not cool. 3. We ate at the snack bar and of course the food was overpriced and underwhelming. But where isn't that the case at these public venues? I had a hot dog that was so-so and my daughter had a burger, which she was not pleased with. The little ones shared a "personal" pizza that was also low end. The fries and Good Humor ice cream were about the best part of lunch. Oh, and I can vouch for the lifeguard team today. I am not sure why so many, but there were at least five calls for the guards to help a swimmer in trouble. They were all children between 5 and 9 who didn't have any type of life vest or "floaties" on (and probably should have), and got themselves into a depth they couldn't handle. It was an amazing display of teamwork when the whistle blew and lifeguards came running. They had it all down to a science. Help was available immediately and they knew what they were doing. I didn't notice any "free" life vests around like there used to be, but this is something they might want to bring back, if five rescues a day are the norm?! read more

A very large pool roped off in 3 different areas depending on the depth. They have a splash area, a baby pool with a slide, a sand pit and some larger slides for the bigger kids. They have a little cafe that sells food and refreshments. The wait there can be a little tedious at times. No outside food or drinks are supposed to be brought in but they didn't search our bags like other NOVA parks. Life jackets are readily available if you need them for your little one. I highly recommend this park. My kids had a blast here. read more

Good place to take the kids I nanny but.... the bathrooms are DISGUSTING, the lifeguards and managers all seem to be below the age of 20 and are rude. My 6 year old little boy was denied from going down the bigs slides after the other lifeguards had already let him go down 5+ times. I then brought it to the attention of the manager who did not seem to care. I definitely wont be bring the kids back here. The staff needs an upgrade and learn how to be fair. Bathrooms and showers were disgusting! My daughter was just to the line of 48 inches MAYBE 1/8 of an inch "shorter" got refused to go down the slide (which was paid extra for) the bar LITERALLY touched her head. Also saw three other parents say they were charged for 48 inches to later be told AT THE SLIDE that their kids were unable to go down, having to make their kids walk back down in shame and disappointment. Save your money and go to splashdown Where everybody plays and your not grossed out to change into your bathing suit or use the facilities!!! read more

I visited last year with my two children and decided to return and with family from NY. however I was appalled and embarrassed by the bathrooms. They were disgusting, smelled of urine and overall dirty. They appeared to have not been cleaned in weeks. Drains were clogged with hair and sand. Clearly those who work there don't take pride or feel it's not "their" job to clean. Whoever monitors and manages that site should be fired for neglect. All it takes is a little elbow grease and a hose, mop and a solution mixture of bleach and water to keep the tile in check. read more

Awesome water parks for kids. Over 48" admission was $8.00. Less than 48" admission was $6.75. Kids under 2 are free. If you have teen agers, this may not be the place for them as the only thing that may keep them busy is the 3 story waterslide. They have a 1' pool with a mini slide (fensed in) for the walkers. The larger pool is 2' deep for beginning swimmers, and then they have a 3' deep section for toddlers with slides. Splash tower nice too, but when the bucket falls alot of kids tend to get scared. Lifejakets (USGC approved) are needed for all kids in every other pool, we have a 20 month old who likes to play on steps, and she needed a jacket which was provided... but they run out quick. Next time we will bring our own for her as the jacket was bulky. Get there early as all of the shady areas were taken by noon. They only thing they let you bring is water into the park, they have a snackbar with the usual burgers, fries, chicken fingers etc... but each platter will run you about $8.00. Bring your own food, and you can picnic under the trees. The pavilions around the waterpark need to be reserved, and the 'rangers' will chase you out... We left the lunch in the car and sat out under the trees for lunch which worked out nicely. Overall, great park for toddlers. Lifeguards are really on top of things. By 1pm the park was packed. Family membership for a family of 4 to all of the Fairfax water parks is about $300 of the season. Since we don't live that close to any of the parks, paying $30 for our family of 4 for a visit is more economical. Plan on going back soon. read more

Never again. We met some friends here yesterday. When my friend got to the park right at opening she noticed a brown widow nest and brown widows in the bathroom (which was NOT clean at opening). We arrived an hour later and it was a mad house of camp kids. When we tried to go through to the locker room I noticed there were some older boys coming through the women's change room. I got me and my kiddos changed just in time for a parade of even more camp kids coming through boys included. When I tried to take my 3 year old to the bathroom there was yet again another parade of camp kids coming through with even more sitting in the benches of the changing area. These were OLDER kids 7 or 8 at the least with many of them boys. I mentioned to the front desk that I was not ok with my kids changing where older boys would be coming through and it being a women's changing room. They said they would have a lifeguard escort the next set of kids through. Yeah no, I saw a women walk through with her kids including a much older son through he had to be at least 14. He was worried about going through the locker rooms and she said oh its not like anyone will be naked in there. They walked RIGHT by the changing area! Then we saw a 5th and 6th camp with their school aged boys and girls just sitting in the locker room for 5 to 10 minutes. It made it impossible for my kids to use the bathroom since they had to wait for 20 camp kids to use it at a time and we ended up changing their clothes in the car since it was so crowded with boys that there was zero semblance of privacy and the few changing stalls there were available were not an option for 2 kids and a mom especially after hearing about the spiders my friend saw. Changing rooms aside, we had to keep our kids in the wading area since the bigger pool was filled with nothing but camp kids who were supervised with maybe 2-3 adults per large group. These kids were mostly polite but a few of them were rather rude and mean to my kids (telling my 3 year old she wasn't allowed to use the slide). Add the fact that they don't allow outside food (and their food selection is abysmal, nothing even close to healthy or unprocessed), this will be the last time we will come here and in the future we'll be going to the Water Mine. read more

First time to this park with my 13yr old daughter, and we actually had a good time. About 20 school buses were there when we arrived. We debated whether or not to go in but we did. The park was bigger than we thought and did not seem crowded at all. Fun for all ages! The only disappointing part was the snack bar food. In the larger pool, they have multiple slides and the pool has plenty of swimming area. We spend all day there. They have a place that serves food, not the healthiest selections (pizza, ice cream, etc.), but food nonetheless. read more

This water park has a nice, friendly environment for family and young children, with various activities for all ages. My only complaint is how messy it is. I was constantly finding dead bugs, used bandaids, and other gross things lying around in the pool or on the ground. The snack bar and bathroom also had very unclean floors. read more

I've only had positive experiences at this park in the past but today, that was not the case. I decided to take my boys 7 & 5 plus 3 more friends. We arrived at 12:30 and the front desk told us the slides were closed due to shortage in staff. They also told us we couldn't go into the main pool til 1:30 due to a poopoo accident. I figured that should be ok since we can eat lunch. I went to their cafe and told the kids to play in the water playground while I get the food. Glad I told them to play instead of holding a table because it took over 45 mins to order and receive 7 hotdogs, bucket of fries and drinks. There is some staff shortage in the cafe as well, and the service showed. When we finished eating lunch, the main pool finally opened. Kind of sad that the slides were closed because the kids would have enjoyed them. The lifeguards however are top notch as I saw them in action. A little girl was having trouble swimming and the lifeguard got to her very quickly while the other lifeguards called for backup. Within 30 seconds, there was a lifeguard manning the empty chair while 2 more were aiding the girl. Very pleased with the way they handled the situation. I won't let this one bad experience deter me from bringing my family again. This place is usually solid and I will review again when we come back. read more

My 8 year old and 4 year old LOVE it! We have done several other local waterparks, but we agree this one is worth the drive. Super cool splash area with slides and giant water dumping bucket. A couple tube slides for older kids, a sand pit (with showers) for smaller kids, and a slide island in the middle of the pool. Very clean facilities, decent snacks and drinks. read more
