Spit Rock should be ##it Rock - elevator not working (we are seniors) refrigerator leaking, sauna not working (we were looking forward to getting in it). We had two raggedy washcloths, look like the cleaning rags. We had to constantly ask for dishwasher liquid, pods, plastic bags, etc. They finally brought it to us The rooms need a massive upgrade. It's one of those situations, this is what we ordered, this is what we got. I will never return here again! I booked a room for one night in March for a trip that was taking place in July. A week before I received a call stating that the hotel was cancelling my reservation due to a broken water main. I called them out stating it was BS as I was traveling with others who didn't get such a call. After going back and forth with the female on the other end of the phone, I informed her that I would indeed be showing up on Friday. After I was off the phone with the resort, I called Hotels.com whom I made the reservations through. Hotels called them and returned to my call stating that my reservation was still good, and I would have a room come Friday. The Resort was attempting to cancel my room, more than likely because I was only booked for one day and NASCAR was in town. I can only think that they would make more money on someone who rented for the weekend and at the new inflated rated due to NASCAR. Check in went fast and the person at the desk was pleasant. When we got to our building/room it wasn't even half full. The buildings my friends were in, had the same story. Half full. The property is dated. I'm sure during the 80ies this place was the fantastic but now after years of neglected repairs and outdated decor it shows. The rooms and the hallway all smell of smoke, mold and an assortment of other smells. A walk around the grounds will tell you they are just there to collect money. All the staff I meet and interacted with while I was there were nice and did their best with what they have to work with. I would have like to hear back from management about them attempting to cancel my room. I reached out to them once by phone and twice by email and nobody returned any of my communications. If you can find other accommodations in the area, do so! I even talked to one gentleman who had been coming here for years and he said it has been on a decline for years, yet he continues to come because they meet up with other who they have been seeing for years of returning trips. DO NOT STAY HERE. We came here for a family reunion and were very disappointed. This hotel was probably really cool 50 years ago but it is currently very outdated and needs remodeled. Several things to highlight - Waterpark had 2/3 broken slides and another area was not operating - Air conditioning barely works and the hotel was 100 degrees and moist all weekend - Several people in our group complained of broken tvs, red stains on carpet, peeling paint in showers, broken cabinet doors, brown bath water, green bath water, duct taped ac window/stand alone units, hot air blowing out vents, etc - Smoke alarms went off twice simply from a guest using the kitchen to make a bagel and another for popcorn - Ignorant check in staff at front desk - 1 person working the arcade and bowling alley running back and forth - Arcade machines kept breaking down mid-game repeatedly Other things to note that were not broken but odd. - Bathrooms are tiny. The door opens and smashes into the miniature sized sink. You have to squeeze your body through the door to get into the bathroom and then close the door to use the sink. There is zero space to get ready. - The bathrooms in the master bedroom are split into two rooms. One for the toilet and sink. Another for the shower. Opposite sides of room. In between both doors is a large Jacuzzi tub with carpet all around it. Overall, not a great experience to say the least. We spoke to many other guests who were also dissatisfied and experienced similar issues. We wish there would have been a notice sent out in advance for the waterpark having multiple rides shut down... telling kids that the only thing they were looking forward to wasn't working was a huge let down for them. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to after staying here. This hotel was a huge letdown in so many ways. First off, half the staff seemed openly prejudiced. The racial tension here was impossible to ignore--not just from staff, but even some of the guests. Being new to an area known for sundown towns, we were unfortunately not surprised, but still very disappointed. We were constantly met with side-eyes, micro-aggressions, and just an overall feeling of being unwelcome. The room service was just as bad. Our room wasn't cleaned after the first night, and on the first day, barely anything was done beyond bringing a couple trash bags. It felt more like a quick fluff than actual cleaning. Also, the appliances are very outdated, but at least they work well enough. However, there were a few things broken when we got to our room. Half of the hotel just looks old, unkempt and has so much unused space. Towels? Good luck. Whether we were at the pool or waiting for some to be brought to the room, they were either unavailable or extremely limited. WiFi is another nightmare. In some areas, it's passable, but most of the time it's slow or completely useless. Don't plan on doing anything that requires a stable connection. most of the time, it was so bad that we had to use our hotspots. To make things worse, a lot of the snacks, drinks and medicines in the vending machines and resort store were expired--some by several months. That's a serious health and safety issue. And speaking of gross, we found bugs in some of the salt shakers. That was the final straw when it came to food safety. The bistro breakfast was horrible--poorly made, bland, and barely edible. Honestly, you're better off eating anywhere else nearby. They also had areas marked as 18+, but those signs meant nothing. Families with kids were all over those spaces and no one enforced any rules, so don't expect a peaceful adult-only zone. Lastly, nearly every ice machine on the property was out of order. For a resort of this size and price, that's unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here. We had a reservation for one night, July 4th. Upon on late check in, the room that we were given was a room in the furthest part of the 'resort' in the back, on a low floor. The room was outdated, moldy, and the electric shade was in operable and stuck in the open position. Called the front desk, they said that no maintenance person was around. Went to the front desk and spoke to the manager, Kimberly. Kimberly at first offered a discount for the room. I asked for another room, to which she said they were all booked up and no other rooms were available. I asked for refund as we were going to leave (@midnight). She said okay she would process it in the morning. NOT only has she still NOT processed it , 2 months later, but she refuses to return my many calls and voice mails. Really disappointed feel like we got scammed. EVERYTHING is closed, if it's a weekday it's closed. Pools were closed or disgusting, lagoon was closed, water park... yup closed on a Thursday in the middle of the day. Miniature golf course and sports fields look like the apocalypse. There's barely anywhere to even eat. Tried to take an Uber for lunch to Nicks- closed, Shenanigan's- closed, Mexican restaurant at the resort- closed. All the employees told us whoever bought the property is sinking it into the ground. Such a nice little area that could really be something but right now it's just depressing. The golf course was really nice but didn't make up for the rest (also cafe was closed early on 9th hole). I refuse to ever spend another dime here, did not feel like a Poconos vacation. read more

The property has window air conditioning and only in selected rooms. Many rooms have windows that face interior hallways and so are not true windows at all. On a 90 degree August day, the rooms were miserable The rooms we had were very clean but the furniture was not comfortable. The rooms we had were outfitted for family use and would easily sleep 4. The kitchen appliances were new and fully functional. The property was in a boil water advisory yet no bottled water was provided. The public areas were very worn and in need of refreshment. The WiFi was weak but working without interruption. The tv choices were limited at best. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, the place would be my choice only if its location offered a great advantage. I doubt I will return. read more

The absolute worse experience ever for my grandsons 9th bd. We check in and get to the room there is several water spots in the ceiling, we go to turn on the TV and there is no batteries in the remote control, the free internet sucked so mad until I had to use my Hotspot from my cellphone network so that we can watch TV and my grandson could use his tablet, we go to the water park at 4pm when they opened and had to fight for the free water pass, that was supposed to come with the the room. Get in finally to find out that it was so cold in there that the lifeguards were wearing winter fur coats to stay warm. My husband and I sat on the pool chairs with our hats, coats scarfs on, when my grandson came out of the water his hands were cold as ice. So we only stayed in the water park for 15mins, I'm so glad we didn't pay to get in. I tried to call the front desk around 7pm to check on dinner restaurant in the area and no one answered the phone, not to mention the phones in the room don't work so you have to use you're cellphone, I guess they stop answering the phones at a certain time because the service there is so bad that the staff members are overwhelmed with complaints. I have just spent 2 nights at Splitrock and it is the absolute worst hotel I have ever been in! Just to name the highlights.... 1) The water was contaminated due to something breaking in the property water tower per signs posted. It was not drinkable. Nobody was notified of this before the trip 2) There was hair in my shower and in my beds. Was the room even cleaned? 3) My sister was bit by the spider in her beds 4) the legs on my room couch collapsed under me when I sat down. Resulting in a bruise on my leg when it collapsed. When I flipped it over it was clear the legs were previously broken and they just pushed them back in without actually fixing. 5) We spent the weekend with family and they put us in th 'Executive Room' which had no working AC, it was 85 degrees and they did nothing to fix it or move us to a different room. Despite telling multiple staff mutiple times. 6) There was a dead frog on the floor in the middle of the executive room. Again does anyone clean? 7) The hotel has no accommodations for disabled. The elevator to the lobby was broken and my 80+ year old aunt and uncle who are not able to take stairs and were put on the second floor got stuck on the second floor cause there is no easy option to get down without some having to drive around to the back of slope side and pick them up on the 5th floor. I am sure an inspection would fail this. 8) My nephews got out of the hot tub after 5 minutes because they were itching from the water. Earlier in the day I watched three toddlers in diapers be allowed in the hot tub. Completely unsanitary! And the guard on duty did nothing. 9) Nobody at the front desk answered the phone. You had to walk the long hike all the way back down from your room with any issue. And it was clear the staff did not care. They just added your complaint to a list of complaints and did nothing about it. But what could they do. They know they work at a shitty hotel where management will not invest in anything to support them. That is just the highlights. There is the paint peeling off walls, plaster flaking, carpets with dirt so ground in you are afraid to take your shoes off and furniture all over the lobby with dirt marks. Stay away from this resort! We stayed here last week. Booked 9 rooms with 28 friends!! Horrible management, gross dirty rooms, after numerous complaints I had to eventually go out and buy my own towels, soap and toilet paper. The waterpark was closed all week, all restaurants closed or shutdown. The pool in the lodge was empty no water. Arcade opens when they feel like it and when they do open there was no prizes for the kids to redeem. I made an appointment with manager Kimberly and she didn't show up to work. I was told to speak to Nelly the next day. Nelly refused to come out of her office and talk to me. She gave another employee her email to give to me. Also you will notice they only respond to positive feedback on Google and they delete all the negative comments on facebook. This was a great resort 10 years ago. Shame on you Bel Air management! Ok this place is a disgrace. We bought a time share here years ago (big mistake). As soon as you walk into the check in area you get hit with a musty/greasy smell coming from kitchen exsaust not working and carpets not been cleaned. We get to our room and the main ac does no work as soon as I walked into the door the musty smell hits you like a ton of breeks , so I try to open the windows to let some fresh air in and of course there are no screens so bugs and mosquito fly in like theres no tomorrow, I killed about 20 . Also the windows do no lock. There is only one tiny window ac unit next to the bed to take care of the all place. We talked to front desk several times since we got here it seems they just give you a polite prewritten reply and to this time nothing has been done to take care of theseissues. Oh by the way they gave us 3 day free breakfast we got there at 9am and there was nothing on the buffet line exept maybe for a spoonfull of scrambled eggs and 3 muffins and a couple of piece of bacon(what a joke) needles to say we wont be using our free remainig free breakfast .We are paying maintainance fees every year and honestly I feel like we are been robbed.Outdoor pool had trash spilling out of the can and water was dirty . Everithing outside the resort its pretty nice and charming but this place needs to be demolished and star over. everytime we come here they say they are doing a lot of renovation I dont even know how this place pass inspections . the only reaso I put one star is because Yelp would not let me post without it read more

I just stayed for 6 nights. Willowbrook at Split rock is so run down. Smell is awful, moldy around shower. The room was just humid the whole time. My clothes were damp and towels never dried after use. As for the amenities, like 20% of things were working. Hot tub broke, many water slides out of order, a couple bowling lanes were open, many arcade games out of order. This place had post apocalyptic vibes, run down ghost town. The private beach was closed the whole time due to bacteria. Also the restaurants aren't open during the week . So what seems to be sort of an inclusive area is not. Putt-putt area was really unplayable. I'm sure years ago this place was great but im not sure how it's still open. Will not be returning. stayed at the resort for a basketball tournament. This resort should be shut down. Our team played a morning game at 8:00am so we got finish early. The kids was thirsty we Ask if they had a water fountain to refill the kids water bottles and one of the staff say you don't want the water it's brown you need to go in the theater to boil you some water and fill your water bottles that way . That was just the beginning. After the game the kids wanted to go to the waterpark because we can't clock into our room till 4 PM. The kids get to the waterpark and the staff say they can't go to the waterpark without being checked in . Go to the front desk and they say no you can get in. It's like the staff don't communicate with each other. Now we have kids in the lobby waiting to 4 pm . The kids get in the water park early and half the park under construction. Now reading one of the review i see it been out for at least 2 months. My hotel was at the lodge and i was waiting for a room. My aunt came a day before me, she come to The main hotel and say her room has been flooded which she was on the second floor. Ok i go to the desk and ask about my room and say no they would have the water all cleaned up and fix before we give you a key. Than at the main hotel none of the room had A/C only the lobby had A/C. Get to the lodge at 4pm and there no receptionist to tell me where I'm going or anything about the hotel. I'm walking around yelling hello hello hello. Till I found a Spanish cleaning lady and she helped me . Get to my room it's had A/c but no hot water. The tv turned on but said connection error . There no service at this place. After all the trouble i went to the bar and the lady couldn't make the drink on their own menu. It's only one bar. When we first arrived, there was an issue with the reservation and getting our rooms. We waited TWO WHOLE HOURS, asked to speak to management, no management was to be found. The front desk lady was extremely helpful and the poor lady had to stay behind to help us get our rooms which she didn't need to do. HOWEVER, when we got to the rooms, the sink was not working, it smelled disgusting, jacuzzi didn't work, the showers were dirty with dead bugs in them, the coffee machine didn't work, NO TOWELS which we had to beg front desk to give us. But that's not even worse of all guys, trust me get worse. I'm sleeping in the bed and I'm like mhm, you know what let me expect expect sheets because if the room so trashy who else knows what else can be in here. Surprise surprise ladies and gentleman, a used wrapper of sour cream where in BETWEEN THE LINEN. like did the workers NOT CLEAN THE BED AT LEAST?? I mean that's the LEAST they can do right?????? WAIT GUYS IT GETS WORSE I'm opening up the drawers to put my things away for the week and guess what I found? I reported my sink was leaking and was told someone would fix it, four days later when I left, it still wasn't fixed. None of the restaurants were open. I was at the is horrible place for a conference. Since May 14, 2025, they do not have drinking water!! There are signs everywhere and a tanker outside. Check in took forever, I was given a room on the 6th floor with no directions as to how to get there. The AC did not work in the ballroom or the breakout rooms for training. The Governors Ballroom where we had our meals was "cooled" by a small room portable AC. It was 81 degrees!! AND on my second day there I woke to NO water. They are offering a pitiable 15% discount on one night and I'm not even sure it will come through. I don't know when the rugs were last vacuumed or cleaned. There was no housekeeping done or fresh towels. How this place is still in business and hasn't been shut down by the Board of Health is a miracle. read more

I am currently a guest in split rock resort and have been here for 4 days so far. I have been looking up other reviews to compare my experience with. I have noticed that there are many mixed reviews so I have really focused on taking as many pictures/ doing as many activities as I can provide a fair / updated review for those interested in coming here. As a child, I came to split rock many times. As a became a teenager we stopped coming here because I felt it was becoming too updated and repetitious. I'm 25 now and my boyfriend and I were looking into a fun weekend away in February. We chose split rock due to some of the activities we saw online and the proximity to big boulder for skiing and snow tubing. Right when we got here I noticed some major upgrades since 2005. The lobby area is beautiful updated and modern. After checking in we were told that our hotel room was on the 6th floor of the galleria. There are several different lodging choices but the 2 most common are the galleria and lakeside. The 6th floor galleria is a pain in the neck to get to. You either have to drive to the back of the building then take an elevator up. Your other choice from the main lobby is to walkthrough a bunch of hallways to get to one elevator then walk down another hallway and take a second elevator to get to the 6th floor. I truly couldn't comprehend how the elevators all couldn't go to all floors. Our room was actually very nice. In the first room there is a little kitchen area and a couch with 2 tables. In the second room these is one queen bed and a tv. (Tv definitely needed to be updated but the rooms were much nicer than what I remember from coming years ago. For our rate we did the date night package. This included dinners, breakfasts, bowling and movie passes. We went down to the dining area and I was amazed of how different it looked from the last time I was there. The service was amazing!!! Rose was our sever and she made us have such an amazing experience and was so helpful with the 15 questions we kept asking. Dinner was delicious and fresh but there could definitely be more entree choices in my opinion. We were staying for 5 days and I feel like I would get sick of eating those same choices 5 times in a room. After dinner we drove down to the lakeside for a not so newlywed game. We ended up being contestants and it was so much fun to play. For Saturday breakfast there was a buffet with omelette and waffle station. The omelette I had was amazing and fresh. The overall buffet was great and made many great options. For me, the activities of the resort make the experience for me. I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the activities at split rock . Over the 5 days I was there there were no live bands, comedian or any related show. They had a few trivia games but the way the game was setup was very unorganized. Instead of giving each team paper and having everyone answer at once he went around the room and had each team answer one question. It took like 15 mins between the next time ur team got another question. They have bingo almost daily but I don't like that you don't win money if you win. They give split rock dollars which can't be used for alcohol and u can't get cash for them. I won $300 the night before leaving and I had nothing to spend it on. They should give cash out so you can use it for whatever you want. I would greatly recommend to them to spice up their activities by a mile and they would really get a lot more quests. Many of the arcade games were either out of tickets or partially broken. The waterpark was fun. Only three tubed main water slides but still it was a lot of fun and not overcrowded. I really do think split rock has amazing potential but they really need to focus on updating and using the conference rooms to their advantage. Hosting shows, bands, singers, magicians can really add so much value. Improvements on activities is a must. read more

We stayed at Split Rock Resort this past weekend for my husband's family reunion. The experience we had was horrendous. I was never so glad to leave a place this disgusting. Here are the experiences we endured while here for the weekend: 1) We encountered signage indicating that we were not to drink the water without boiling due to a broken area of the water tower. No one was ever notified of this prior to coming to the resort nor upon checking in. 2)The resort needed a major renovation. I felt like I was entering the set of All in the Family. There was exposed construction and waste debris in the parking area. One of the open containers contained mattresses making me wonder if the mattresses we slept on were even clean. I was afraid to lay on the pillows as they looked dingy as if they were not washed. Our duvet cover had some kind of white stain on it. It immediately was thrown to the floor. 3) The toilet was so low to the ground making it feel like I should have been a gnome. We had some older family members with hip and knee issues that expressed how difficult it was to squat when they had to use the facilities. 4) They had us in the Executive Room that was like 80+ degrees. The AC was not working in this room, along with the Susquehanna Room that we all gathered together in Saturday night for dinner and a surprise Polka Band that was arranged per family. It was sad to hear my Sister In Law say to the band that they could cut their performance short since it was so hot. Each of the band members were sweating so badly. 5) The elevator in the main building was stuck open. My husband (who is a firefighter) had to go over to the door and actually manually pull it shut. My Mother In Law asked the front desk staff if they were aware of the issue. The staff did not appear concerned. One of the staff mumbled something over to us but was not heard due to the activity at the bar area (wedding on one side and a live band on the other side). She couldn't even walk over to discuss further with us. 6) Signs at each end of the hallway state no running and to keep noise to a minimum to respect other patrons of the resort. Approximately 1-1:30 a.m. there were kids running up and down our hallway keeping us from getting much sleep. 7) We had dinner together at the price of $53.22 a person for an adult. I have Celiac Disease which requires me to eat a gluten free diet. I specifically asked one of the managers what the options would be. She did not know while we were in front of her. She said she would let us know after speaking with the Chef. Never did she come "find us" after speaking with the Chef like she promised us. My husband had to talk with one of the staff that was in the Susquehanna room to help with the buffet items. She brought me a bowl containing 4 pieces of chicken topped with Olive Oil and Mushrooms. I also had some of my husband's vegetables from the buffet. It sure was not worth $53.22. Some of the other family members did not get a full meal as they ran out of items and did not replace or the food was cold by the time it came to the buffet line. 8) The TV was static on most of the major networks (ABC, NBC, etc.) making it difficult to even enjoy TV programming. Could not even figure out on how to contact the front desk to get someone up to look at the issue. They most likely would not care anyway. 9) They have a market in the resort that you can order additional food items. toiletries, etc. My husband and I got two drinks, fruit and a piece of Pound Cake and it cost us $25.40 for the 4 items. They charge an arm and leg for everything there. 10) The final straw was getting up on Sunday morning to the smell of weed coming through our vent in the bathroom. Both my husband and I had a "contact high" and headache from the overpowering smell. We talked with the front staff about this since they do have it posted that it is a non-smoking facility, and any non-compliance would result in a fine. Again, they appeared not concerned. One of the staff even looked at us and said, "I guess you had an eventful weekend, huh?" Well needless to say we will never be spending our money to stay in this horrendous resort. If you are considering this resort to stay at, please RECONSIDER! Do yourself a favor.... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY..... Hopefully you will not consider visiting here. read more

The same rooms who had no AC had no windows or rooms that did had no screens on them! Everything is dirty, the elevator barley works and feels like its going to break down at any second. We went to go into our room and walked into a room with a family already in it!!! We were there for a basketball tournament and the floors for the tournament were a stick on ball room floor! The kids playing kept falling and the floor started to buckle up! Our hot tub in our room was so dirty! More than half of the water park was shut down. The bartender at the bar was soooo rude!!!! You could not pay me to ever go back one of the worst experiences we have ever had! The entire facility smelt so MOLDY and there was a boil water notice and a big truck outside for them to have water. We were told we had to wait two hours for our room, then we had to wait an hour thirty after the two hours, everything closes super early so you honestly can't do much, theres WiFi but it absolutely sucks and the place is overall creepy once you look around especially at night read more

While the location and hotels around had a lot of potential for greatness, it needed a lot of maintenance and up keep. The hotel was extremely outdated. Bathroom rods were hanging off the walls. The cleaning supplies used to clean the rooms were extremely potent and irritating. My family and I had to leave the windows open to get the smell out. It was nauseating and causing headaches. The carpets has strong odor and needed to be replaced throughout the entire hotel. We requested a nice view out the hotel but were placed in rooms where the garbage bins were outside. Windows had a lot of dead wasps around it. The pool was cloudy and not maintained up to code and standards. I asked few representatives about it and I was told "Cleaning occurred last month.", "Pool system is not working at the moment", Not sure when we can get it to be fixed". There were also many representatives being pushy about buying time shares, I get it, they need the funding to upgrade the location. No thank you. Lake harmony is not a lake, it is more like a swamp. People were told not to get inside. I have always wanted to go to the Poconos but it was not the experience I planned for. The only highlight was the arcade and bowling, a child would love this. We paid over $700 for two nights. My husband paid the protection fee that guarantees the room. We get to the hotel at about 9pm exhausted from the long drive and there are a line of people waiting to check in. After a long wait, the front desk worker shouts to the line that there are no more rooms. We think we are okay since we have a reservation and a protection fee however as we are waiting we are realizing that everyone has reservations. After trying to fix this issue, we are told by the one person who seems to be the only employee in the hotel, that there is nothing they could do and recommended we go to a Holiday Inn 10 minutes away. We had no choice but to agree and tell them we were expecting a resort this weekend, the least they could do is allow us to come back the following day to use the amenities and we are told, "let me check with general manager tomorrow." Horrible experience. Extremely unprofessional and uncaring as a company. When I called the next day, no one would take my call. Do yourself a favor...don't waste your time and money on this place. Let me begin by saying that I was previously an owner At Split Rock but because we moved to Maryland, have not visited in the past 20+ years. We were looking forward to coming to back add memories to our previous experiences. We left very disappointed. We were there from Thursday-Sunday and booked four (4) rooms. There were Friday evening activities for guest to enjoy (bingo, karaoke, bowling, arcade, etc.) Saturday morning the water pressure was almost non-existent on our floor(5th), and the water that was trickling out was "Brown.". The phone in my room did not work so I had to go down to the front desk (9:00AM). I was told that the five (5) other people had already reported the problem, but the manager does not come in until 3:30PM and there is nothing they can do. I explained that "water is a BASIC NEED" and that this should be considered an "EMERGENCY." I was also told that the water is brown because it is from a well and that the employee also occasionally had brown water in her residence. I also requested a one day (1) refund for the inconvenience because by 3:30 a large portion of my day is gone. Water was eventually restored by 12:00 but still had a brown tint. Well, around 6:00 PM guess what? No WATER on the floor again. I reported this to the manager Kimberly, again explaining that my family (4 rooms) are inconvenienced and should be reimbursed for a portion of our stay. She said that she would speak with her supervisor and get back to me. Needless to say, I never heard from her again. My daughter and her husband did not have heat in their room. They were told that the heat had not been transferred over yet. Meanwhile the other 3 room that we booked had heat. The front desk told her that they would bring up blankets and space heaters. The blankets arrived but no space heater were NEVER brought to the room! So, she and her husband had no water or heat for the majority of her stay. Finally on Saturday night around 8:00PM (after they went to the front desk about 5 times) they moved them to another room. I am very disappointed in the resort primarily the lack of upkeep and effective "Customer Service" for patrons. I had several conversations with other patrons expressing their concerns (over booking, poor personalized service at some of the restaurants, dirty rooms). November 22, 2024. I accidentally booked the Lodge instead of the Town Center. After fighting on the phone with the 3rd company party and the main number to the Hotel to have it switched to where I intended to stay, (my child was competing at the town center) everyone said NO. Until I made it to the front desk. it was VeRy busy, and Jessica (front desk) was so helpful. She was patient ( even with the line of people forming, and switched out room. We so appreciate this! We also enjoyed our stay. Rooms were nice, they have a game room, movie theater, and indoor pool. We recommend! read more

For what I paid I'm very happy with the experience, could use dinnerware in general as there's no plates utensils or cups. Shower was very nice had a small issue figuring that out so maintenance came to help us figure that out within 10 minutes. Pool was lovely and kept up with as well as having towels by the pool and some restaurants in the hotel lobby. Overall I had a great experience I would just bring some paper plates, napkins, and cups next time. read more

If I could give no stars that's what they deserve. This place is a waste of money and a huge disappointment. Everything is dirty from the pool to hot tub to the rooms. You cannot get anyone to understand what you need when you call for towels or toilet paper or anything. We ask for connecting room and where told we have it but when we got to the rooms they were across the hall. We were supposed to have a full kitchen but we didn't have a frying pan or even the basics to cook. Don't bother coming here it is cheaper to stay at an airbnb. read more

This place harkens back to all of the cheesy, 1980's movies that have ever existed and I am so not mad about that. Based on the terrible reviews, I'm going to guess that I arrived after the re-model because it was a blast. My biggest complaint being that there exists very little wi-fi/internet connectivity. However, this is also what makes split rock a great place to connect with humans rather than electronics. I would have preferred to have been able to send a text to keep my group organized but we had to rely on word of mouth and real interaction. This was in part the goal of the trip so not a real problem. The staff was extremely helpful and respected guest's privacy. I never encountered a staff member in my room neither for cleaning or service. Safety was always maintained. The showerheads and water pressure could use improvements also. The resort offered food options which were readily available almost the whole day. Alcohol and mocktails/beverages are always available and resort-worthy!! Kitchen facilities in the main lodge suites were adequate but we opted to eat together and let the chefs cook. Food quality was simple and basic but eating wasnt as important as the fun that we were having. There are immaculate bathrooms everywhere, on site outdoor activities, offsite activities, an indoor waterpark with slides, small bowling alley with arcade, a movie theatre, great access to JackFrost and another mountain for skiing and a shuttle that goes around the whole property if you don't want to drive. All of this is available for a reasonable price that can be more affordable than the nearby big name competitors. Plenty to keep busy and not feel crowded. A strong 1980's meets the 1990's nostalgia that hit the sweet spot. read more

My family and I have been coming here for about 13 years. Boy has this place went downhill! Very limited activities, even when one is listed no one to facilitate the activity is there. Many members were given the incorrect information which caused lots of arguments with check in with the police had to be called from other parties. First off we were told by a security guard to park in the back because it's quicker to get to our rooms (fyi it is not park in the front go in through the lobby) when we arrived to our room it was hot like they turned the air off we turned the air on and left the door open to let it cool off in the room then after using the bathroom noticed that there was no hand soap in the room. Before we left for lunch my mom went up to the receptionist to tell her that we needed extra towels and hand soap the women at the check in desk told my mom that they just got a shipment in today and will bring some up to our room and the rest of the rooms in our party. Well we continued on with our day and come back to no extra towels or hand soap so I went down to the receptionist this morning 8/24 to ask where the towels and soap my mom requested yesterday were. They brought up the extra towels this morning but the point is I shouldn't have to ask twice for stuff that should already be in the room. Staff here was completely rude and acted like us asking them for favors or questions was a pain in the ass....sorry you have to do your job. The food here was bland and the water undrinkable unless you boiled it (which we should have been told about the water before we arrived) the shower was scolding hot with no way to adjust the temperature and the water park the water is cold and most rides were closed. The only enjoyable thing in this hotel was the bowling alley and arcade. I would not recommend this hotel read more

We had visited twice years before. We had tried the water park which was great. We ventured this last week and decided to stay in their facilities. The room was nice, however the whole reason we visited was their water park. The water was literally freezing. My toddlers were so dissapointed, we tried their indoor pool same thing. We thought it was a one day issue. It wasn't. Nelly Sanchez their GM responded all my emails till I asked for a refund. No refund was issued, and I am still waiting for my "incidentals" deposit back. Such a waste of a place with such potential. I ended up visiting the Great Wolf lodge water park. My family and I will be going there from now on. Avoid the Split Rock unless all you want is overpriced hotel rooms with zero ammenities. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. we checked into a non functional room (no working microwave and non functioning lights) and after calling maintenance- which DID NOT SHOW- we got told we needed to move out of our room because of a pipe burst. we had to pack up all of our stuff to be moved to another room in a separate building that ALSO had non functional lights and a non working microwave. they refuse to give us any compensation other than a bowling voucher??? and no upgrade. read more
