Hands down one of the nicest women I've ever met! I was looking for a makeup artist for my wedding and unfortunately, my venue didn't have many preferred vendors to suggest so I took to Yelp. Thank GOD I found Kimberly! I first met her for my trial run, which was very reasonable price wise - although I was prepared to drive to her, she came all the way to my apartment (I'm roughly 45 minutes away from her, on the Peninsula) with her full makeup kit. During the trial, she was very easy to talk to and made me comfortable. We only had to do one run through because she so closely created the image I had in my head that I didn't want anything else! On the spot, I asked her to send me a contract and how much I needed to pay for the deposit. The whole time, between our first contact and the day of, she was incredibly responsive and helpful to my questions and requests, which is something that helps the bride immensely. It was really comforting to know that with everything going on, I didn't have to worry about this aspect of it. The day of, she was very timely (she even apologized because she arrived to our hotel MAYBE 3 minutes after she said she would, which I hadn't even realized at all!) and had set up a good schedule so that she could get my bridesmaid's and my makeup done by the time we needed to leave for the venue. The whole time, she was very engaging with all of us and, again, made me feel very comfortable (as we all know, it can be pretty awkward with a stranger so up close to your face). The finished product of both myself and my bridesmaids? I really couldn't have asked for a better look for us all. It was very neutral/natural, which was what I was going for - it wasn't cakey or over the top, but there was enough to know we did have makeup on. And what was great is she catered to everyone's features and needs so while we all looked uniform and matching, each girls' good features were accentuated as needed. Overall, I would give Kimberly more than 5 stars if I could! She's very affordable, especially considering that she will come to your venue to eliminate the stress of traveling. This review is long overdue, but it's been on my mind of things to do. I hardly EVER write reviews, but I LOVED Kimberly from Spoiled Gal Beauty so much and her talent is too great to not let others know. I was married last year and met Kimberly at a wedding fair. Immediately after meeting her and reviewing her portfolio of pictures at her booth I instantly knew she was the gal for the job. I thought it was going to take me FOREVER to find someone up to my standards to do my make-up and hair, luckily it was not the case. Hands down she was my favorite vendor. She is reasonably priced for the level of service you get. It's all about feeling beautiful on your special day, which she made me feel. She is so professional...always on time, very responsive to calls/emails. She gave me feedback for things I didn't really know about. I truly felt like we were girlfriends and she was doing my hair and make-up because she was so incredibly sweet and personable. Kimberly met me at my sister's house for the trial run. On the big day she went to my sister's house first and then to the venue- so very flexible to accommodate your needs. I can't say enough about Kimberly/Spoiled Gal Beauty. If I could give Kim more than 5 stars, I would! As my husband and I planned every detail for our Aug 2013 wedding, I worried about what to do for my hair and makeup. I had invested so much time finding the dress, the accessories and planning the special day, I wanted to ensure I was as beautiful as I could be without looking like a 90s Glamour Shot. When I started working with Kim, I knew I couldn't have made a better choice! During our trial, Kim came to my childhood home and was incredibly nice, professional and friendly to me and my extended family (sister, mom and grandma were all there to see!). She created a complete top to bottom look for me that was outstanding. Thought I loved the look, she also ensured me that I could make any changes I wanted to down the line. She felt more like a friend of the wedding ready to help than someone I had hired. She worked with my bridesmaids over email to decide their hairstyles. Though I wanted my hair and makeup done even though my bridesmaids only wanted hair, she did not charge me extra or penalize me because my bridesmaids did not get their makeup done. This was really incredible because many other artists will not do this! Coming up to the wedding, I had a few changes to my hair and she said we could work through them with no problem at all. The day of the wedding she was early and had all of the bridesmaids done in a timely manner. My makeup was even more beautiful than expected and my hair was prefect and stayed all night. In fact, my husband loved my makeup so much he asked if I could get it to wear everyday. I emailed Kim and she told me everything she used (and had also already given me the lipstick for free). This really attests to her style - natural colors that highlight your true beauty. Not over heavy makeup that makes you look fake or realistic. I now wear this make up almost daily and I still get tickled when my husband tells me how pretty I look. I would use Kim again and again and recommend her to any bride that asks. She is a great person with a great talent and I can't thank her enough for making me feel the beautiful that I have ever felt!!! read more

Kimberly was fabulous and did a wonderful job for my wedding day last year on July 20th, 2015. She showed up with a HUGE tote of goodies (her make-up and tools) with the cutest chair for me to sit in. She was very attentive to my desires and vision for my hair and make-up for my big day. I did not have a lot of pictures and ideas for her to go off and she did better than I could have expected! I was very pleased to have her be apart of making me feel extra special on my big day. A mutual friend had referred Kimberly to me when I was asking around for ideas when I needed to book someone for my make-up and hair. Best decision ever!! I wish I could have her do my hair and make-up every day! I know that isn't realistic...haha! But she is so great! I can't wait for another fancy affair to book her again. P.S. Kimberly is a sweet, thoughtful, classy, talented and professional woman. She did my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot- as a trial for the wedding day. She drove down to my house in the South Bay Area and brought her entire set up. We spent a lot of time talking about options because I didn't really know what I wanted. We tried a few things and ran out of time, but she spend a solid 3 hours+ with me! My photographer LOVED my makeup and I still looked like myself, just a more polished brighter self. My photographer kept raving about my makeup. It photographed VERY well. I didn't feel like I had layers of makeup on my face either. She uses great quality products. I wish we had more time because I may have been able to decide what hair to do for my wedding but our engagement pictures needed sunlight so I was unfortunately on a time crunch! She is also well versed on skin and hair care in general- so she had some great tips. I had the pleasure of working with Kim for my wedding in September 2013. She has such a calm, sweet spirit that will comfort any bride on their big day. She met with me just weeks after having her baby and returning from maternity leave. She was prompt and so delightful. Kimberly is such a sweetheart! Upon a recommendation of a close friend, I reached out to her about doing my hair and makeup for my recent wedding. She responded right away to my inquiry, despite being only a few days away from having a baby. We set up a time for a hair and makeup trial, for which she kindly drove all the way out to Clayton for. The first few minutes of the trial were spent going over what I was looking for and reviewing some photos I had found on Pinterest. Kimberly then easily recreated the exact style I was going for! She even provided me with other beauty tips for the days leading up to the wedding. On the morning of my wedding day, having Kimberly there was so relaxing. She's the sweetest person and in addition to being great at what she does, she really helped to calm my nerves as we talked. I couldn't be happier with the way my hair and makeup turned out! I contacted Kimberly to do a trial bridal make up for me. Kimberly was very polite and professional over the phone and in person. But she would not let me see the hair and makeup until it was completed. She brought over a plethora of makeup and spent a total of 2 1/2 hours on my hair and makeup. The end result was NOT good and I will not go into further detail or make jokes like I normally would because I feel she was well intentioned. I feel compelled to write this review so that other Asian brides can go elsewhere. I had originally asked her if she had experience with makeup for Asian women as our features are very different and she said she did. I feel she would need a lot more exposure doing people of other ethnicities in order to do a good job and to actually charge professional rates. I did pay for her time and the makeup and hair did not look professionally done to say the least. read more
