Every time we come here the food, beer and service is always good. The main reason to come here is their beer brewed in house. The waitstaff is always knowledgeable and can recommend food and beer pairings. The food is really good also. This place can get very busy at peak dining times and you will have a wait for a table. The wait staff is really awesome. I've never had unfriendly or unhelpful service at this place. It's mostly crowded whenever we go, so much so that we can never find parking available. In their defense, we've only gone on nights that seemed to have big parties on the top part, so maybe the parking isn't a problem during an average night. The food is good, but it isn't my favorite. I do like their beer, which is brewed at the restaurant. I have a lot of friends that love their salads, but I don't like salad or seafood, so the limited things that I can eat are good, but I'd rather go somewhere else for food. But even their gumbo wasn't great to me, even though I love gumbo. It's ok to me, but it's not my favorite place to eat. read more

Worst service ever!! Never have I ever had such horrible customer service. You should never be in a hurry or be rude with your customers... Or say "Well, I can't do everything?!" when we are the only table your waiting on... It was dinner time on a Thursday and no one was there! (Except the bar!) It's sad because this location and building is perfect. It's disappointing that employees like her can ruin a business. I came here once before and it was great. Kitchen needs help though. Food is cold or soggy when delivered and they need to be quieter in the kitchen. When you start talking behind the customers back, make sure they can't hear you! Also, it's not professional to play "grab-ass" in the kitchen! Disgusting and just plain unprofessional. Hope the right people see this to make a change. Dang take a little grease off that fish! Ugh! I had to soak it up with 2 thick napkins and still was nasty. I didn't even dare try the fries. Thinking maybe the fryer wasn't hot enough but i have no idea why not on a Saturday night and place was packed?? Sad that many people had to eat such poor quality food. The fish dip was terrible, I know I'm not in Destin but it was awful. Doubt I will go back unless I'm there for a beer on the patio when it's warmer. Really nice decor! If you are in the mood for sloppy joe, do not order the sloppy joe brisket sandwich. It is fatty and does not taste like that "take me back to my childhood" sandwich. The fries are more like small, hard pieces, so you may be better off getting the chips. The waiter was nice, but could've come back midway during the meal to check in. read more

I am very picky about my wings. The ones I make at home are by far the best! Lol. I absolutely loved the wings with old rail hot sauce here! Crispy and juicy! Best brew pub around! I feel that everyone thinks they are a good critic these days. Really people you are not all top chef judges. You have all lost the concept of where you were eating. The Old Rail is a brew pub and for a brew pub I find it to be outstanding... it exceeded all my expectations of a brew pub when comparing to all the brew pubs I have been to in the past. OK, so it is the best burger on the northshore! Yep, was a great burger outing if there is such a thing. Both quality and quantity hit five stars for me. My wife could only eat half the burger and agreed on the quality. Joey the waiter said the sandwich consisted of two 4 oz burger patties but they really looked like 5 oz patties. Something unique was the bun which is served hot, and was a cross between a traditional bun and french bread ( very nice touch). We both opted for the fresh cut onion rings which were excellent also. Stopped off at this brewery/restaurant on the lakefront in Mandeville and was pleasantly surprised. I tried all the beers they had on top and enjoyed them all except for the barley wine. The seven sisters IPA was particularly good. The place is very large and looks beautiful on the inside, with a spacious bar. The bartender was prompt and attentive. Ordered the seared tuna salad which was slightly disappointing. The tuna steak was great but it was served on a plain bed of iceberg lettuce. However, the menu had several other delicious options and, looking around, the food appeared delicious. I think I just made the wrong food order. I'll definitely be back for the beer and will try ordering something else! read more

We were heading home from Gulf Shores to Houston and we saw some breweries close enough to the interstate and this places served food as well so we made it out lunch stop. Upon arriving at the building I was stunned at the design bc it felt like I was back in the French Quarter of NOLA. It was wonderful and the inside was even better, wood paneling with leather booth and seats. I was excited about the beer bc I seek out breweries no matter where I go and was equally excited when I started reading the food menu. If you don't like beer come here! We got the Irish Nachos and the chefs specialty for the week, The King Burger. The Irish Nachos were loaded fries in a sense and they didn't disappoint. My only complaint would be the lime sour cream on top. Also it comes with a buttermilk ranch that is fantastic for dipping the fries and goodies in. They also have a "fancy" sauce that is horseradish based and boy is it good! The King burger had sautéed onions, peanut butter and a bacon jam. It was fantastic and if you have a chance to try it do it! It comes on Texas Toast and just rocks your taste buds. Paired with their ESB and it's a match made in heaven. On to the beer, I wasn't blown away by any of it, hence why I have it 4 stars and not 5. The Cow Catcher is good, too chocolatey for my taste but would be good poured over ice cream or in a shake. The Hobo is a fancy bud light. The ESB was good but to much of a bitter back end. My favorite was the Maibock, not to strong up front but smooth with a German finish that keeps you tipping your glass for more. Overall it's a great place and if given a chance will be back. The food is phenomenal and the beer is good. read more

Food was good but the service sucked. Our waiter obviously wasn't much of a waiter beings the hostess had to bring us water and check on us several times before he ever came to the table. He never refilled our water the entire visit. He also did not write down our order and when our food arrived it was wrong, had to send it back. At the end of the visit, clearly we were finished eating.. we had our plates at the end of the table and it took several times for him to walk by and ask if we were ready for the check. We weren't eating anymore and did not have any water to drink, what else could we possibly be waiting for besides the check? Felt very overlooked and not cared for. read more

Just had a great lunch at Old Rail Brewing Company while camping at Fontainbleau State Park. Any easy drive or, if you prefer, right off the bike trail. Fantastic! Everything was great across the board. We tried all their beers, got a couple of delicious sandwiches, chatted with the waitress--everything was top notch and awesome! Try the Golden Spike Wheat!!! It was amazing!! The Surf n Turf pasta was a little runny but very good and spicy. The Shrimp & Grits were mediocre. Grits were great and shrimp were seasoned perfectly but sauce was a little too much tomato. We didn't find anything bad on the menu! The server recommended our beer. We had some pimento spread and the pretzels app - both great! Chicken parm, brisket sandwich and old rail burger - all tasty. On the evening of July 4, 2018, the seared tuna atop the salad had a strong, fishy smell and taste. The house-made beer was flat and didn't taste right. Although the tuna was not eaten and the server was notified, we were still charged full price without an explanation . I will not dine at Old Rail again. this is THE WORST service i have every had. The workers were incredibly weird and rude. They have no respect for other beings and they switched waiters on me like 10 times. Not to mention one waiter told me "that's not my job" when i asked for more water. They were incredibly shy and were not trained to be waiters. I DO NOT recommend this place... never will. do not go here unless you want to be belittled and feel like a fly on the wall. i cannot even look at the place. it disgusts me. When i politely asked who my waiter was (because i was confused-they kept on switching waiters on me) they mumbled and acted like i was dumb. Not to mention, the food was awful. Still love Old Rail. On my latest visit, in Sept, I got a not-so-good sandwich. I called the server over, and explained my problem. End of problem. She took what was left, and brought me whatever I wanted from the menu. Yes, I still paid and tipped, because I ate food prepared and served. It was a mistake. Big deal. Everyone is allowed to make a mistake. And, the replacement was awesome. Kudos to Old Rail for making up for it, and making me a regular customer whenever I'm in town. That being said, if you are a fan of Russian Imperial Stout beer, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy their incredible offering when it drops this winter. I'm planning my next trip around that!
