    BYO Cavatappi pasta

Such a great new spot in Winter Garden! Staff is super kind and food was ready quickly. BYO pasta was delicious and we loved the flexibility to get exactly what we wanted!

Build your own pizza with pepperoni, spinach and cheese. Caesar salad with chicken in the background.

My husband and I had a tasty lunch at Spoleto. They were popular, but not too busy, and did a great job of preparing the entrees quickly and getting them right out to the guests. My husband had the Caesar salad with chicken, and it was a whole chicken breast. I really liked the flavor of the pepperoni on my build your own pizza. I will definitely return.

    Nutella "mousse"

Spoleto is back in the area! We went to the location in downtown Winter Garden for dinner during the week. Some changes to what I remember from before is that now you need to choose your toppings and mixins when you order. Previously, you chose as they were building your dish. The inside is clean and bright although a little sparse. There are a couple of digital kiosks to order from or you can got to the counter and order from a server. I thought the pricing and offerings for the Build Your Own Pasta, Pizza and Salads is very reasonable at $13.99 for up to six toppings, with extra costs if you want meats or burrata, or specialty pastas like gnocchi or ravioli. There are also other pizzas, pastas, and salads with set ingredients on the menu as well as a few sandwiches to choose from. I ordered the BYO pasta with cavatoppi, a pink sauce (you can ask for marinara and Alfredo mixed), and then added olives, mozzarella, baby spinach and tomatoes. I also ordered a Nutella Mousse for dessert. My friends ordered a BYO pizza and my other friend ordered one of the sandwiches. The sandwiches come with a side salad. The food was delivered to our table, and since we were eating in were on nice plates and bowls. Mine was great and was so tasty. My friends both got half of theirs to go since the portions are big. My friends both got who got the pizza said it tasted like you would get at a Blaze Pizza. I brought my mousse home to eat later. When I did eat it, I thought it was a nice touch that they had added a fresh strawberry to it. However, while it was very delicious, it was also a very consistency. I pretty much drank it because you really couldn't use a spoon. I don't know if this particular one just didn't set or if that is how they are supposed to be.

    Pizza with ricotta.

We have been twice now and each item we tried was fresh and delicious. Our 8 year old loves the pizza with ricotta and the pasta dishes are a hit with my wife. I've also had the chicken pesto sandwich and I would easily find myself ordering that again. The ordering is easy at the kiosk when you enter the restaurant but a team member is never far away and are ready to help. We take half of our meals home for later and splurge on dessert. The tiramisu is among the best I've had and my wife got the Nutella pizza on this last visit and the three of us finished the whole thing... it was so good. It's nice to stroll around historic downtown Winter Garden after the meal. The swings in the main square are just a minute outside their front door.

Their menu is pretty large and they cook their items in the coal fire pizza oven. I like that since it gives it that crispy crunchy pizza. Their location is inside Plant Street which has a ton of food places. The best thing about Plant Street is that everyone can get what they want. There are tables throughout Plant Street and Michael's Ali Coal Fire has a few bar seats at their location as well. They specialize in pizza but do have additional options such as stromboli's, wings, and sandwiches. There are some specialty pizzas on their menu but you can also create your own, which is what we did. Next time we will probably go with a specialty pizza just to try it out, but we went with pepperoni and bacon. It was also topped with a little basil. The bacon was pretty much nonexistent but it did have a slight saltiness to it, so I'm sure it was there. My wife loves bacon on her pizza so she definitely wished there was more of it. Overall it was a great pizza. We actually ordered it to take home since we had already had some food at Plant Street. However, it was good and hot and fresh, we ate the entire thing. The pizza is not overall large, I think about 6-7 slices. We shared since we were trying a lot of things. The crust was also really crispy, and not overly charred as sometimes coal fire pizzas can get. Another item we wanted to try but were too full, was the Cheesy Bread which has Roasted Garlic Oil fired with Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Provolone & Gorgonzola. We saw someone else get it and it really looked delicious, very cheesy and really good. The team who works here is also really nice. They were friendly, let us take our time, offered to answer any questions and were just nice. They had a little game going and would ask a question as you paid. They were keeping track of answers. Overall, this is a great spot. I would come back anytime we felt like a pizza. Very great food! ACES!

Oh my goodness--the pizza was amazing! I ordered the 3 Meat pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. It had been a long time since I'd had such a great New York-style pizza. The crust wasn't too thin or too thick--it had the perfect texture with a nice chew. Every bite was satisfying, and we both finished our pizzas without leaving a slice behind! Yes, based on the most basic premise, pizza's are not necessarily that hard. But, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars and countless smaller shops have managed to absolutely trash that basic premise of what makes a pizza such a simply satisfying meal. The proprietor doesn't want a good pizza. He wants everyone to experience a great pizza. There is so much pride in how every single component is exceptional in quality. It shows and tastes exceptional. We tried a the Nonna NY style pie and a the house pepperoni special Detroit style. My gosh. Words won't describe how perfect a bite these actually were! Now add the fact that everyone seems proud of what they are doing and the owners believes in absolute satisfaction, this is the kind of regular stop I'd consider a great night with family. Good energy in a non-descript location makes it that much more special! One little tip. Try the key lime pie or you're simply missing out!

(For example, a pizza smashing through the door Shining-style on poor Shelley Duvall.) The menu consists of New York style, Detroit style, and Sicilian style pizzas, among a variety of other entree offerings. There aren't any personal size pizzas, just what I'd consider medium (14") and large (18"). My partner and I couldn't agree on toppings, but thankfully AJ's lets you do half and half pizza, as long as they are the same type of pizza (i.e., New York). On my half, I ordered the Supreme New Yorker -- hot calabrese, spicy Italian sausage, classic pepperoni, extra creamy ricotta. What attracted me most to it was the sausage, ricotta, and spiciness. My partner ordered the Tropical Reeves -- pineapple, thick-cut smoked bacon, drizzled with vanilla honey. Mine had more expensive toppings, but we only had to pay 1/2 of each type of pizza we ordered, not the highest price one, so that was a welcome surprise when the bill came. It'll definitely encourage us to come back. The pizza was delicious, and the crust was pretty tasty, too. There's also red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese on the table, and you can ask for oregano as well, to enhance the already great flavor. Service was excellent, too, so I don't really have anything negative to say about our first (and certainly not last) visit to AJ's.
