Hello. We just had dinner there and the food was so delicious. They perfected their perfect combo of flavor with the spicy pork and cabbage leaf. Customer service was outstanding. They were attentive and courteous. To end the perfect dinner with my husband we tried the samanco fish ice cream. It is a toasted waffle light cracker filled with red bean paste and vanilla. It was out of this world. Perfect bite of sweet bean taste. Just one suggestion for the restaurant. Get boba size straws for your juices with pieces of fruits in them. Incredibly good, authentic Korean food. Try the tofu soup (we like the "spicy"), the kimchee pancakes & the bibimbap. A bit understaffed, otherwise would give it a five. Suggestion to management: Add some lighting and some overhead heat lamps for your patio area. It's cold & dismal after dark! Enjoyed the abundance of veggies. Would like more rice cakes and more flavorful pork (similar to ones from bibimbap. Solid option when you crave something soupy! 4/5 Chap jae was a bit small, but the flavor was there. A bit on the sweeter vs. savory side, which wasn't too bad. Siracha helped. 3.5/5 Bibimbap portion was huge. The packaging was great (rice, egg bottom and everything else portioned on top). I spotted Spoon around lunch time on my way back from the berkeley bowl. My family of four stopped in to try some Korean cuisine and Spoon did not disappoint. We tried the seafood pancakes, Korean bbq pork, kimchi fried rice, and a kids version of bibimbap. The seafood pancakes were delicious less greasy than others I have had. The bbq pork was perfectly seasoned and the kimchi fried rice had just the right amount of spice! They had a lovely outdoor space perfect to enjoy lunch and the service was super friendly! read more

Came here for Saturday brunch. The place is really nice and the outdoor seating is spacious and even though you are right next to a pretty high traffic street you barely notice it. The food is great. With a dumbfounded look, they remember that you are there, watching them. Hungry for the food you ordered 30 minutes earlier after waiting 10 minutes for a menu, and if you are not eating alone expect to get your food roughly 15-30 minutes apart when sitting at the same table. I'd prefer if they take out the little dishes before the entrees so people don't just sit around waiting for the food (cuz it can really take a while). Such nice servers and I appreciate the variety of banchans. Had the kimchi bokumbap twice--first with bacon (wayyyy to salty) and then with beef (still salty). Don't want to be too hard on the place but it's just not as good as what mom makes back home. Banchans were also either too sweet/odd/sour for my taste buds. Was looking forward to both the stir-fried and fresh kimchis as I don't get to store them in the fridge I share with a roommate, but they were a disappointment. Four stars only because they are the same owners as Bowld, my girlfriend and I's favorite Korean spot in the east bay. However, this place is no Bowld. It is like a Cafe style Bowld. The food is slightly less enjoyable than Bowld. But still great. The seafood pancake was great, the Kimchi Fried rice was OK. They have porrage, here. I have never had Korean porrage before but it may be good. This is like a quick lunch place. Overall, I will make my way to Bowld rather than this place. The waiter brought our dishes wrong twice, my spicy ramen was basically 2 min noodles, there were some onions and to not exaggerate at all, half a slice of a tiny piece of red pepper. I visited this place for the first time 3 weeks ago. I loved the outdoor seating. The weather was pleasant so it was nice to have the option of sitting outdoors. I had the kim chee fried rice with chicken which was outstanding. The side dishes were delicious! The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. My friend had the rice cake soup which she enjoyed also. The waitstaff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely come back. No complaints here! Service are SO SLOW. My BF ordered coke and I order ginger tea. We also order beef bulgogi and tofu strew. They gave him diet coke,and he told me that they need to wait for water boil for my hot tea.
