The lettuce barely came halfway up the bowl, and it was a very light thing to hold. Even given a vacation spot premium, I just wasn't that satisfied. Came here for lunch after a half marathon and the meal really filled me up! Parking was easy in the lot and we were able to easily order at the counter. We then found a table and our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. I ordered the Birria "Taco" Grilled cheese. The size was very big with lots of meat. I really enjoyed the parmesan chips. The inside is cute and emphasizes lots of local businesses. I also ordered the seasonal hot chocolate which I was had a little more flavor. The price was fair, about $20 for lunch. Passed hits were prime rib on crostini with horseradish and arugula, lamb chops with a heavenly Dijonnaise, clam chowder shooters, authentic lobster roll with potato buns, I could go on but... Then they had the main courses- taco bar on one side and a southern one on the other with the most delectably fried chicken with jalapeno honey, mac and cheese and greens. It's a very hip and cool place with local goods, fresh bakery items, cold salads and so many more delicious goodies along side a full menu! During covid19 they are doing a Private Chef to-go meal! For $12 a persons, my husband and I got the bacon onion jam meatloaf, roasted veggies and a broccoli apple salad!! The house smelled so good while I reheated the meatloaf and veggies in the oven! I noticed as I was writing this review that Spoonfed is closed today which is a shame because even though I just had breakfast there yesterday I am seriously tempted to get in my car and have breakfast again there now. When you go into the restaurant there's a few clipboards with the menu. Take one, peruse what you'd like, them order at the counter. I ordered the toffee pancakes special. I was torn between that and the sausage biscuit but a friend was getting the biscuit (which she was raving about) so I went with the special, figuring I could always order it in the future. Ya'll when my breakfast came out I was like a five year old on Christmas morning. Pancakes, homemade whipped cream, crumbles of toffee, it was something straight out of Willy Wonka. Those pancakes were on point. Fluffy but with some substance they had a bit of texture so it wasn't like eating air. And the toppings? Oh emm gee!! Nothing short of amazing. Plus they have bloody Mary's and mimosas on Sunday! Amazing, just incredible. I visited this place for brunch on Sunday with 5 of my friends. It was my first time. I was a little overwhelmed when I first walked in because it wasnt clear exactly what to do. But you basically can snag a table and then go up to order your food at the counter. The food was prompt. I ordered the French toast with lemon curd and it was fabulous. They have a really nice selection of baked goods and they even had some Mac and Cheese that was to die for. Our lunch consisted of a Caesar Wrap and chips and then the Chicken Salad sandwich and chips. We also got a blueberry lemonade and an iced vanilla latte which has coffee ice cubes in it which I always love (since it does not water down your beverage!). Brunch with friends. Two of us got quiche (sausage and cheese, and feta and spinach) and one got yogurt with granola and berries. We also had lattes and chocolate chip cheesecake bars. There are cool mixers, crackers, jams, etc at the front of the store. The order experience was fine. The quiches were really good, as was the yogurt. The side salads that came with the quiches had a "lemon vinaigrette" that was basically just vinegar and lemon. We weren't fans. The lattes were good- I got the cherry mocha and it was perfect. I can wholeheartedly agree that Spoonfed is worthy of as many stars as we can give them. Here... .have all 5 of mine. Why? Warm staff. Outstanding selection of frozen take away meals. Killer selection of cold deli items from crab cakes that look like Martha Stewart made them, to tuna salad that you would be glad to serve at any fancy soiree. And the reason for life itself....baked goods. Pies, cookies, scones...bars, and other delicacies that make me happy I live too far away to visit every day. I think they need to add some seating in the winter time. We once had to leave as there was no seating inside available. And trying to order brunch to take out would have been problematic. The pour over coffee is a bit strong but nice. They use Folks cafe which roasts on the Darth Vader end of the spectrum. I hope they offer a lighter roast for the pour over sometime... Which brings me to another awesome point...... Spoonfed's website boasts an attention to local sourcing of ingredients which makes me love them even more. Today I ordered the avocado tartine and a side of bacon. Both were delicious. The tartine itself was very crispy but not overly crispy. The greens and avocado were perfect and were a little spicy. Just a tad. The bacon was some of the best bacon I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly. It came with a side Of greens with no dressing. I was alittle confused about that. The Diet Coke was in a bottle that needed a bottle opener which I didn't have so that was Alittle disappointing. Overall, I loved this meal. read more

So glad this new restaurant opened here in Wilmington! Food is beyond yummy and fresh! The manager, Caroline is very hands on both in the front of the house as well as the back of the house of the restaurant. I was curious about an item and she went so far as to offer me a taste. I noticed the number signs which are used to determine where a customer will be sitting in the restaurant features advertising Paw Prints which publishes a small magazine to bring awareness of the hundreds of adoptable pets. Delicious and healthy food combined with personal customer service wrapped in compassion for furry friends is the ideal business model. It made me feel good to support this restaurant and the good they are doing in the community. I wish them many years of success! read more

Loved this gem! We first visited for a dinner the owners were hosting for a big group of friends. We tried lots of delicious goodness but my faves were the rich beet and cheese crostini, tasty seafood dip and chips, simple perfection lemon pasta with arugula and parmesan, the fresh supper club salad and yummy roast sweet potatoes. Oh and can't forget the incredible brownie and delicious key lime pie with fresh berries! Dinner was so wonderful we came back for brunch the next day. Came for breakfast. Left impressed. I'm a foodie so I'm picky about food. My wife is vegan so she's extra picky about food. Her chia pudding breakfast was simply superb with balanced flavors, gentle sweetness, fresh blueberries and freshly toasted slivered almonds. Health food? Sure. Great tasting? Hell yes. My eggs, requested over easy, we're perfectly cooked using a steam method. The biscuit that came with it was clearly freshly baked with that stunningly beautiful crispy outside and soft buttery inside. It even came with French raspberry jam which was excellent. Then there was the bacon. I don't know where they're buying it from but it was some of the best bacon I've had in the US. Yes it would be called Canadian bacon but it was a great balance of cooked just right with caramelized crispy edges. Coffee? Excellent. Vibe? Active, fun bright and happy. Come here. Eat. They got the special omelet and this green goddess sandwich (vegetarian). So, the pancakes - delish. You didn't even need syrup they were so sweet and tasty; there was a huge dollop of whipped cream on the side. Thank god it was whipped cream, I took a huge bite and thought, please don't be butter. BUT, the next time I go, I am definitely getting the green goddess sandwich. Whatever it was called or whatever it is because I had a bite and WOW. The flavors were soooooo delicious, I want it so bad. Also, the staff was super kind. Very attentive and when they forgot the omelet, they gave it to us for free. Friendly and all.
