Took my 2024 Sprinter to Sport Haus for its first oil change and I won't be taking it anywhere else moving forward. Josh was super helpful and informative about Maintenance on my van and actually talked me out of replacing the fuel filter(400$) on my van , he said it wasn't necessary until 20k. I brought my 911 996.1 Carrera to Sport Haus for what should be a straightforward oil change. They failed to do the job properly. They left out a critical component--the oil return valve at the filter--which caused significant damage to my engine. Shortly after their service, I noticed a distinct ticking coming from the engine. I immediately took the car to a well-respected, specialized Porsche shop for a second opinion. They diagnosed the problem right away: the damage was a direct result of the missing valve from the botched oil change. Armed with this professional diagnosis, I went back to Sport Haus expecting them to make it right. Instead, the owner Anthony flat-out denied the expert findings. Rather than taking responsibility, he spoke down to me, tried to make me look completely ignorant of the issue, and then had the audacity to suggest I caused the damage myself. A good mechanic fixes their mistakes. A bad one deflects, acts in bad faith, and blames the customer. Their denials and accusations are outrageous. This shop is untrustworthy and will not stand behind their work. Avoid Sport Haus at all costs. UPDATE: Response to Owner after his reply. Anthony, the mechanical facts remain. A missing return valve in a 996 housing does not just bypass the filter. It allows the oil to drain back to the sump when the engine is shut off. The engine then starts dry. Chain tensioners and lifters starve for lubrication and pressure. That is causing the ticking we hear upon startup and the plastic from the tensioners subsequently found and caught in the new filter and in the sump. When I brought the car back after going to an expert that cost me 1000 dollars, I handed you photographs detailing the missing valve from that expert. You disregarded them entirely, just as you are now disregarding the written diagnosis from the specialized Porsche shop that documented the missing valve and the resulting noise. My service records are impeccable. Because of my strict adherence to frequent oil changes and proper engine warm-up protocols, those chain guides and components would not have required attention for tens of thousands of miles. The timing of this failure immediately following your service is not a coincidence. It is remarkable that an owner of Sport Haus takes to this course and tact with me, especially to a gracious, well informed and friendly member actively involved in the Porsche Club community here in the Sierras who loves his special car. I will not be taking a phone call. Another conversation is just a further attempt to avoid responsibility or an effort to entice or intimidate me into taking down a telling review. Brought my car to Sport Haus expecting a 2-day repair (maybe a little longer if parts were needed). It ended up taking 8 days, and one repair still wasn't completed. I provided another shop's quote up front, but the final bill was higher and included charges for parts that should have already been covered. Communication was poor--I had to call for updates, and only on the last day did they tell me more parts were still needed. I can't speak to the quality of the work yet, but the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing. After 7 years with my last mechanic, this was not a good start. I made an appointment at sport Haus and needed service which included oil change and they also replaced the brakes which were nearly down to the rotors while also solving what I was afraid of being an ignition issue since the car was having issues with startup but only required a battery change so all in all I would say the service was excellent, the timeframe for repair exceeds my expectations and it was certainly a better value than most other shops when I compared to a dealership as well. Before leaving on a trip to Texas to visit family, I called Sports Haus and talked to Will the General Manager to get a quote to service my car. Will quoted the price of a spark plug replacement $450.00 and the price of a transmission fluid and filter $500.00. I was quoted $950.00 in total for the work to be done on my 2014 e350 Mercedes. I was also told by Will that the cost of this service was less than 1/3 the cost of the MB dealership. When I went to pick the car up after the work had been supposedly (dishonest service doesn't build confidence), I-was told the cost of the work done would be $1452.00. I asked why the extra cost and his answer was, we only quoted you the labor. I was very disappointed in his answer. I am 88 years of age and have never before been scammed in my life this way. I was told I would have to pay what he is charging to get my car out of their shop. I hope the owner gets to see how his employee is operating his business, in order to save his business. the worse place ever I don't recommend taking your car there, first my check engine light came on, I have a 2018 Audi A5, they told me the water pump, I shelled out, I was quoted $1600 ended up paying $1865 after taxes and fees and used my debit card not credit card, check engine light came back on 3 days later, took it back to them, they ran computer could not find anything wrong with the car on the computer, car been running absolutely fine with no signs of anything , they ended up making up some lie saying my alternator fluctuator was malfunctionin, and all of a sudden I can't drive the car anymore after it's been driving fine for days and that I need to pay $1000 for a new alternator, I pay them to fix it the next morning the check engine light comes back on, so they pretty much like to get over on people and make up bogus repair claims, I don't recommend anyone going here, I'm taking my car to the dealership for now on I rather pay 3 times the price to have it done the right way then to go to them ever again. read more

After the Mercedes dealership had our car for over 2 months, dodged our calls, never ran the diagnostic and then tried to charge us just to move the car off their back lot for the tow truck to be able to hitch it, we were desperate to get our car back and had to find somewhere else to take it... Thank heavens we found Sport Haus! First off, Will was super nice & patient with me while scheduling the drop off. He said we could drop it and they would get to it when they can since it was a drop off, but to be safe he also suggested we actually schedule it for the next available appointment just to make sure that it definitely got done by then. But he also said they would try to get to it before that. A week before the scheduled appt I got a call with a full diagnosis and the whole course of action to get it fixed and that we could pick it up the next day. When I went to pick it up they noticed a couple of little things that weren't even in the issue list. They were so small they just took care of them real quick before I left. These guys were great and went above what was expected of them. It was 1000 times better experience than what we had gone through with the Mercedes' dealership.... Bruh....Just, wow. I have an S550 that I typically take to the Mercedes Dealership here in Reno, but as of late, my main guy Cameron that I deal with has left, and for whatever reason, they haven't been returning my calls. Matter of fact, after about 3 months, I'm STILL waiting the service department to call me with my service records, and on Mercedes to "authorize" my vehicle to access the MercedesMe app. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen. In addition, I took my Benz in for work that I asked for, that was never performed (but I wasn't charged for). THAT'S when I said "Yooo...Eff this ish.. I'm fenna call Sport Haus B!!" I noticed Sport Haus a couple years back, because I used to take my clothes to the cleaners that are in the next business complex. I'm typically leery taking my vehicles to shops other than an actual dealership, but rather than have my front end fall off and drag my wheels across the freeway in a ferocious demonstration of sparks and twisted shrapnel, and have a control arm puncture through my floorboard possibly impaling my passengers legs, I decided to give them a call. Boy, am I glad they did. I spoke with Will a couple months ago, inquiring about the work that the dealership was supposed to be sending me documents that they DIDN'T perform, but after being home long enough to go thru my vehicle history, I was finally able to schedule my actual appointment, with prior quote in hand, which they honored months after. I needed lower control arms, my clock fixed, an alignment, my service D, a headlight replaced, and I think that's it. I was able to get my car in, and they turned it out in less than 3 days, WAY cheaper than the dealership that I was so faithful to would've been able to do. Quality work, excellent turnaround time, and both Anthony and Will are hella cool. Like I said, I typically feel uncomfortable taking my vehicles to places other than dealerships, but they instilled a sense of confidence that completely alleviated my 2nd guesses. Going the Extra Mile My Lexus SC430 was experiencing some shaking in the steering wheel. With only 1 visit to Sport Haus, Anthony; co-owner of Sport Haus; was able to help diagnose the root of my problem. Luckily a simple fix. A couple of the wheel weights had come off, throwing the wheels off balance, and therefore producing a shaking effect at high speeds. By rebalancing my wheels and rotating the tires Anthony remedied my issue in no time. The team at Sport Haus even took the liberty of installing a sleek aftermarket stubby antennae kit for my ride. My 2006 Range Rover Sport started throwing suspension error messages just as I got to Reno on my way to Burning Man. I took it to Sport Haus without an appointment. Not surprisingly, not much they could do in the one day I had before I had to be in Black Rock City. BUT. Will was amazing. Calm, reassuring, competent, helpful. He ran a quick diagnostic and figured out the part I *might* need based on the error code. Then he made me an appointment for the day I would be back in Reno, and made sure the part I *might* need would be available when I got there. He also made it clear that they would not replace the part without doing a diagnostic and making sure that was actually the problem. As it turned out, it wasn't - the part I actually needed turned out to be less than half as expensive. Sport Haus figured out the problem and got it fixed the next day, and Will kept me informed about what was going on every step of the way. I paid way less than I thought I would. Will wanted to keep the car another day to make sure the problem didn't recur, but I had to get back to Palm Springs. The problem didn't recur. All good. As an out-of-towner having an automotive crisis, I couldn't ask for a better experience than I had at Sport Haus. The customer service and work are exceptional. read more
