I purchased my 560 SL last December. In the year, I've added 3,500 miles to the odometer. The buying experience was nothing like I've ever experienced before. Roy and Edward were both very patient and provided a pressure free environment. They even let me drive it twice. I looked at a couple other SLs before settling on this one. They were very accommodating to the pre purchase inspection and made quick work of the minor items identified. When it was time to pick the car up the paper work literally took 90 seconds. The car was washed, waxed, and ready to go. They also surprised me with a wood trim refresh. Over the year things have come up and that was to be expected. These cars are 35-50 years old. I'm not expecting perfection. I walked into this knowing I was buying a classic and that it would need some work. I'm still considering having the soft top and radio upgraded by their Service shop. If I'm ever in the market again for a classic I'll look to SportsCar LA. read more

For maintenance (0 stars) - Within two hours after receiving my automobile, mechanical issues with the cooling systems caused my car to overheat. I had to take my automobile to the nearby Toyota dealer after that. AND I NEEDED TO FIX THE CAR USING THOUSAND OF DOLLARS FOR PARTS. Total - 1 out of 5. I tried to go home yesterday morning after delivering my 2001 Toyota Celica. However, my car started overheating after 1.5 hours of driving at around 100km/h to my house. I drove carefully, keeping my car's rpms low, to the closest Toyota dealership as soon as I realised the engine's temperature was rising excessively. I assumed the car was overheating because it was so hot outdoors. However, they informed me that the automobile was under-cooled, needed numerous cooling system-related repairs, and would cost me thousands of dollars. Fortunately, the engine wasn't harmed. Whatever the case, mechanical teams ought to have checked the coolant level, or someone should have warned me about the risk of coolant leakage on the SAME DAY. I assumed the automobile would need maintenance and repairs in a few weeks, but I couldn't believe it broke down in a potentially fatal way within TWO HOURS as me. The phrase "JUST BEEN SERVICED-EVERY CAR WE SELL HAS BEEN THROUGH A RIGOROUS EVALUATION AND SERVICE PROCESS IN OUR ON-SITE SHOP. MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR, WE DON'T JUST BUY, WASH AND SELL. WE TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN THE QUALITY OF OUR CARS. WITH OVER 50 YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE, WE'RE THE BEST CHOICE FOR YOUR COLLECTOR, CUSTOM, OR CLASSIC CAR SERVICE NEEDS" on their website should not be taken literally, in my opinion. They only sold me the iron lumps; which means THEY JUST SOLD ME THE CAR THAT DOESN'T RUN EVEN MINIMALLY. However, the owner of this shop and also the salesperson, Mr Steele, was very helpful. I'm not so angry with him, but rather with the mechanic team of this store who didn't inform me about the car issues before the delivery. I understand it's a used car sale, but I can't accept being sold what is essentially a piece of metal that can't even run for a single day. If I could give zero or negative that is what I would do. These two, Edward and Roy, are some real rip off artists. My wife and I bought two cars from them. They advertised the cars as ready to go, like new. They said they had gone through everything and there would be no issues. Granted these are used cars, but not used car prices and sold as collector cars. After 40 miles on my car the following occurred: multiple oil leaks, radiator needs replacement, exhaust leak (brought this up before sale, they said they would fix), steering fluid leaks, coolant leaks, etc... Contacted them about it and possible buy back and they said they would do whatever to make me happy. They lied like typical car salesmen. On top of that the titles were not clean and/or available at time of sale. My wife and I were dumb enough to buy anyway. Turned out to be a nightmare getting titles. Our own fault, but these two snakes were good at seducing. Also, they rip you off on shipping. They said it would be a fancy enclosed trailer towed by tractor. It was some guy who didn't speak English driving a one ton pick-up and some crap two car enclosed trailer. Lastly, these foreign b*stards are located in the ghetto of LA. Not safe at all. Better options are Chequered Flag or Beverly Hills Car Club (not the best area or quality either, but still better than Sports Car LA). Don't be fooled. The cars look great, but you will get hosed. read more

Its a diamond in the rough, highly recommend. Earlier this year I was looking for an almost-vintage Mercedes-Benz 560SL in still good condition, and after a fruitless streak through the proverbial used car salesmen across the entire country I ended up at SportsCar LA almost at my doorstep, which I considered least at first because of their Internet presence. What I found was - to my greatest surprise - an amazingly large selection of 560SL in all different colours, years and conditions. There was plenty of opportunities to take an undisturbed in-depth look at every vehicle before I discussed the pros and cons of each car with Edward, who turned out extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable about these particular cars on top of his very British way of talking. From there it was smooth sailing for settling on my choice for a fair price. No buyers remorse. Please, Please AVOID this dealership at all costs. They will rip you off as they have ripped me off. There are honest people/businesses and there are dishonest people/businesses. Once you know someone is dishonest you certainly do not want to give them any opportunity to victimize you. My advice is not deal with Alex or Roy and just take your business to another reputable shop. Alex Mitrovich (the business owner) agreed to purchase wheels and wheel centers for a Volvo 1800ES (sportswagon) for $300. I personally delivered them to his shop on May 28th 2015. Before getting there I called him and he told me he was on vacation that day, but I should deliver them to his shop and Roy would pay me. So I called the shop next and was patched to Roy. He told me he was on his way to Riverside that day and would not be back, but I could leave the wheels/centers with Juan, one of two people at the shop. He told me to leave a deposit slip from my checking account and he would later that day deposit the funds. So I delivered the wheels to the shop and Juan tried each and every one to make sure they fit. I gave Juan the deposit slip. The next week I called Alex and he told me Roy would take care of it. A few days passed and no money was paid into my account. I called again later that week and Roy told him he still had my deposit slip on his desk and it had was going to make the deposit shortly. I called at least 8 more times and I left messages, but none were returned. Finally, last week I notified them by phone that the last time to make payment in good faith was Tuesday, June 16th. I also told them that at that point I will consider them to be in default and to have behaved dishonestly and I would have to take action accordingly. One of these actions is this expose of the way they do business, which should be an eye opener for any future customers. For those interested, I have the e-mails I exchanged as well as recordings of my last actual conversations with Alex acknowledging receipt of the wheels and Roy acknowledging he had my deposit slip, but had not made the deposit more than a week after delivery. If you decide to do business with dishonest people now, at least you had a warning... read more

Avoid at all costs. I recently purchased a Corvette that was completely misrepresented by these liars. The car was said to be in excellent running condition, and that the only thing needed was to go through the brakes for safety reasons. I was told that a large sum of money was recently spent to get the car tuned up and running well. All lies. The transporter told me that they had to use starter fluid just to drive the car up on the truck, the battery was hooked to a jumper because it was done for, the coolant system was bone dry due to two massive holes in the radiator, the oil was pure black sludge, nothing electrically on the car worked, and most vacuum lines were either plugged or hooked up incorrectly. The car is a complete basket case, not a "nice driver." Do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere. read more

Seeing the Brian S. post reminded me of my own similar experience with SportsCar LA. In March 2013. Ibought a 56 Chevy pickup off of eBay from them. It was a nightmare. Before I agreed to Buy It Now I was assured that shipping to Custer SD would be "no problem" and that they would arrange it and it would cost $7-800. They balked at putting that in writing. They finally did so when I would not wire the money until receiving written assurances. I was promised delivery on April16th. They stalled. Arrangements were finally made at a cost of $1300. I flew out to Custer (summer home) and waited. The car was not delivered until after I flew back. That was on April 26th. I did not see the car until I got back in June. I had to make arrangements to have the car delivered to a Custer body shop. Seeing the truck was a shock. Their "relatively little rust two owner California truck" is a rust bucket. The 24K miles ended up being 135K+ miles (could not CarFax due to a fake VIN on eBay). Their fully servised wasn't. The assurance of adequate anri-freeze wasn't; it had pure water in it. Lucky it didn't freeze. They had my negatve eBay feedback deleted (along with another). Last I saw they were still showing 100% positive. Ebay's customer protection was worthless. Thay gave me a number to file an internet fraud claim. I did. Have never heard back. If you are considering buying from SportsCar LA, don't. Don't walk away. RUN!! read more
