(I'm posting this review 6 months after we purchased the car, and the car is still running strong!) You might have come to this Yelp page because like me, you are wondering if these guys are a legit business or someone selling crappy cars on Craigslist! You might be concerned about their low number of suspiciously positive reviews! You might decide to check out the car anyway! All of the above applied to me. I ended up buying a Mazda off Tino for an extremely good price - 'too good to be true' price, which is why I had all these yellow flags and also waited to post my review. They're legit! These guys are honest, not pushy and upfront with everything. No hidden dealership fees or shady tactics in general. I was handed me the keys and Tino essentially entrusted the car to me for the rest of the afternoon. I took it to the mechanic, grabbed some lunch and did a quick couple of miles to test drive it before returning to the office, where Tino was there to meet me. We discussed some of the concerns that the mechanic had (minor stuff), and then we did the paperwork, put up the temporary tags and I drove off into the glorious 1.5hr LA traffic. Smog was already done, title and registration came in the mail within two weeks of buying the car. That was the end of my painless car buying experience. This was actually way easier than when I went to a huge Honda dealership and had to wait for 2 months to get my tags because they forgot to do my smog check, and then forgot to tell me about it until a month later. Of course, as a buyer, do your due diligence and take the car to an independent mechanic for a PPI before you buy. But my experience with them was great! read more

Tino was honest and straight forward. Bought a late model Mazda 3 for a great price and he explained it had been in an accident before I drove an hour to see the car. I wanted to see it anyway and he showed me the Carfax history and pictures of the damage, none of it structural, all of it just replacement parts (doors and fender). Then we went thru the car to inspect the repair and it was done right. I know a lot about cars and he gave very straight answers. We shook hands and the deal was processed in short time. My opinion is if you want a outstanding price on a good used car this is your place. What I did not see that other car dealers do is a thorough 45 point inspection, tune up and car detailed. But you pay a lot for that, for the savings I took it to the car wash and had my mechanic tune it up. They offered me a 48 hr return option for $150. Return for a full refund no questions asked, drive it around, take it to your mechanic and you can't go wrong. This place sells accident cars that are fixed up. Owner states he doesn't know much about history. We had a dispute on the ac. He refilled and it was blowing cold air. 3 months later it's all hot air. He paid for half of getting it fixed. We were good. Then had a guy knowledgeable about civics say that multiple things have been replaced including gear box. Be weary. Mist of the cars are accident repaired. read more

I'm going to get in line with all the other 5 star reviews here for Tino & Sam at Cartag. We just bought a car from them and it was the easiest car purchase of my life. We were referred to them by an acquaintance and I have to admit to being a bit skeptical going in. The price seemed too low and the office is bare bones down by LAX but after talking with Sam about how they find their cars and their process, I began to understand how they were able to offer such a good deal. Tino arrived with the car and my wife and I took it for a test drive. They had the Carfax report and Tino went over the car with us, pointing out the inevitable minor faults used cars always have, to make sure there were no surprises.
